Finally made it to Corner Slice! Been wanting to visit this spot for a while, and finally got a round. It's VERY EASY to miss, no jazzy sign or anything --- I just followed my Google Maps to a T. This business serves up awesome sicilian square pizzas (NOT DETROIT). I arrived at about 6:15pm, and much of their pizzas were already sold out. Luckily, I got to try a few items --- the white pizza, the pepperoni pizza, and their famous garlic *NOT. The employee was super helping in explaining what was in the white pizza (you guessed it...lot of mozzarella and ricotta --- but also: a touch of LEMON!), so I got that....and it was super delicious. This type of pizza can only be eaten HOT. The dish is automatically elevated once it touches the heat of the oven. Pepperoni is pepperoni....but lets talk about THAT CRUST on these pizzas. It must be sourdough --- that's my guess. There's a lightness to the crunch that normal sicilian slices do not have. Owner, am I right? Now --- onto that Garlic NOT. What in the layered, buttery hell is this? This is a glutton's dream. I was peeling this NOT like it was a biscuit with layers. It is decadent --- and bigger than a Costco cupcake. But it's only available here --- so you do you, boo. Get it. All in all, very satisfied!

Delicious!! Tiny joint in Maplewood that's known for slices, but we ended up getting a full Garbage Pie and we're really pleased with our choice! It's a Sicilian square style pizza with crust that is crispy and light. The Garbage Pie had everything on it - sausage, jalapeños, onions, and who knows what.. but it was amazing! Probably serves 3 people, but with just two of us.. looking forward to leftovers tomorrow! We ordered takeout, and they texted when the order was ready; no need to wonder if it's done.

Solid square slice. I had the Buffalo, pepperoni and cheese slice. Great taste, nice and airy - bring from NY I would prefer a little extra sauce but theirs have just enough. Chilled location and ambiance and the staff is friendly. Definitely a go to if you are in area - I recommend. 4 stars

Fast and friendly service. Inside is modern with a small seating area. Pizza is very good, mostly because the toppings are fantastic and the crust is cooked crispy. You gotta try some of the funkier special slices they have, like peaches and corn - sounds weird but it works.

Upside down pie. Pepperoni. White slice. Garlic knot. (Pizza cut in thirds for 3 people to share on a pizza tour)

Simply great. Honestly one of the best pizza I have eaten in my 60 plus years. 3 of us went on a pizza tour. We all said this was the best of the day. We can't wait to come back.

Tried this place because the Upside Down was rated the #1 slice in NJ. (I wouldn't call it that, but solid slice) Overall good slice, very fresh ingredients and soft, but crunchy crust. The few times I have been the staff has always been friendly and the place has been clean.

We actually left another venue and weren't quite full so we came here. A great local pizza spot feel, the staff were immediately fun and friendly. They make you feel like a "regular" right off the bat. Everyone in there was happy and enjoying the food, the whole experience was a vibe. Parking is terrible, but worth it. The place smells amazing from all of the pizza and other dishes. A worth it stop! Grades: Pepperoni: A Margarita: A Buffalo: B Vodka: A

Giant garlic knot. $9.00 each, meh.

3.5 Stars. This was our final stop on our NY/NJ pizza tour. We got here super late, right before they were about to close (Thanks, NY Traffic near the Holland Tunnel!) When we arrived there were limited options since it was so late. I went with a cheese slice and a garlic knot. Had a root beer to drink. Total was close to $20.00. How was it? Cheese Slice- Pretty tasty. Light, airy, crunchy, good cheese. Solid square slice. I ate so much pizza during the day, I probably didn't appreciate it as much as I could have, but still a good slice. Garlic Knot- These things are massive! They also cost a lot too ($9.00 for one knot). It was good, but not $9.00 good. Lots of garlic, peel apart like a pinwheel kind of. Tasty enough. Service was friendly enough. I would come back if in the area to try out different slices.

    Garlic "Not"

Every time we go we are not disappointed. The counter staff is always so personable and welcoming. Besides the great customer service the pizza is just ridiculous! The crust is perfection and it's worth the 25 minute drive. The garlic "not" is a must have! I wish we lived closer because we would be there every week.

The white and margarita slices were my favorite!
    Jennifer T.

The pizza is light, airy, with a buttery tasting crust. The slices are on the smaller side given their higher price. We had the upside down Sicilian, Reg cheese slice, white slice, and their margarita slice. My favorites were the margarita and the white slice. They were very good and flavorful! The white slice can use a bit more cheese, but it still was very good! My husband thought their reg cheese slices were very good. I thought the upside down slice was disappointing. The sauce didn't have any flavor in that slice. Overall the pizza was very good here. I recommend Corner Slice in Maplewood!

Excellent pizza close to home. I saw this place in NJ.com as one of the best pizza places in NJ, so I gave it a try. I ordered Upside Down pizza at a specific time, 3:00 pm, from their website. I got a text message around 2:50 p.m. stating that the pizza was ready. Pizza is awesome. This is now my favorite place. I will try garbage pizza next time. The place is spotless and everything looks perfect. I recommend it if you are looking for a great pizza in the area. A gentleman who handled my pizza was a nice guy, very friendly--service with a smile. There is no parking, only street parking, but it was easy to find since the neighborhood is well-organized. Pepperoni slice, garbage slice, upside down. All exceptional but garbage was my hands down favorite

Amazing square pizza. I highly recommend going here if you enjoy super crunchy flavorful square slice pizza. The menu is pretty simple as is the seating at corner slice. Of the slices I tried my top choice would def be their garbage pie which has red onion sausage jalapeño. This is just so flavorful. Can't wait to go back

The staff gave ample time for my family and I to say our hello's before greeting us with drink options. Upon sitting down our server brought us fresh bread and butter with flakey sea salt on top. For appetizers we had The Ralph Piccolo Pizza, Ricotta Crostini, Cacio E Pepe Fries, and Prosciutto Di Parma. All were insanely incredible. Great flavor, crispy where it needed to be crispy, soft where it needed to be soft. For my entree, I had the Crest De Gallo Pasta. The pomodoro sauce was on the savory side. It was a set menu and I am vegetarian, it was my option. It was good! I would love to return to try the Spicy Vodka Sauce Rigatoni. I am a spice lover. For dessert I had the most wonderful, rich, smooth chocolate mousse. The dish was called The Chocolate Spuma. It came with crumbled pistachios and fresh raspberries on the side of it. The flavors and textures together were perfect. The staff were so kind, had great humor, and fabulous manners. They held themselves very professionally. The head server for the event and the manager were lovely. I just had to pull the manager to the side and compliment all. I live 1.5 hours away but I would gladly book a weekend trip up to Maplewood, just to eat here again.

So, I decided to give it a try for dinner. They don't accept reservations. I arrived around 6:30 pm on a Friday to avoid crazy wait times, but still had to wait ~40 minutes. It didn't feel very long since the waiting area has a mobile wine/beer bar outside & you're able to order drinks from the restaurant as well while you wait. I didn't come with kids, but I saw a lot of families waiting. It was a kid friendly space. The inside was quite dim & it kept getting dimmer as the night progressed. I didn't love this, but it didn't bother me as much either. Pizza was delicious, and the bread tasted very fresh. The pictures show an individual pizza size, which we were told might not be big enough to share, but we made it work amongst 3 girls. Service was fast - I assume since they're trying to free up tables quickly. I'd recommend going at a non-peak time if you don't like to wait, but definitely worth a try even if for takeout!

Polpo alla Griglia (Tender charred Spanish octopus, chick peas, julienne carrots, string beans, radish, parsley, lemon, extra virgin olive oil - $20.95) - the octopus was perfectly cooked, and the chickpeas/carrots, etc., added some delightful brightness to the dish.
