I usually order from them for the staff. The pizza is usually okay, not my favorite, but definitely not bad. I've tried the chicken, plain, pepperoni, and veggie. So far, my favorite is the pepperoni because it has the most flavor. The service is friendly, efficient, and fast, which I really appreciate. read more

Queen pizza is a classic Newark mainstay. Pizza is honestly excellent, great crispy consistency, sauce and cheesiness level. I love the pasta fagioli especially on a cold or rainy day. Their breakfast platters hit the spot too. People that work here are great. read more

Pizza is possibly the best in the Downtown Newark area, especially for the cost, but don't expect friendly service because then you won't be disappointed. The one guy who tends to manage the cashier is sometimes friendly, other times quite surly, so don't take it personally and keep your eyes on the delicious prize that is the pizza. Tons of seating inside, but it can get crowded and noisy during lunch time. My preference has been Queen over Robert's for pizza, although I do frequent both -- Robert's is preferred for pasta. Due to the unfortunate fire that affected Robert's recently, Queens will be my pick for pizza for the foreseeable future. read more

Queen pizza is a Newark staple that gets good marks for some rarities in Newark - speed, seating, and diversity of options. This is one of the go-to spots for a lunch get-together, especially if you're looking for something more informal. Food wise, the pizza is good but largely unremarkable. They'll usually have a few standard options available by the slice, and if they run out, can quickly add to a plain slice to give you what you need. Additionally, they keep a separate line for sandwiches, so those move faster than a normal pizza spot that'd combine the two lines. Those too are above average but mostly forgettable. In short, youll never crave this place, but you'll also be fine to settle for it when you need a reliable option. read more

A good spot to grab lunch in downtown Newark. They have breakfast, cold and hot sandwiches. Pizzas are sold as pies or slices. Food quality overall good, though I'd have liked them to use softer breads for our cheesesteaks. The garlic bread is average. They have a huge canteen like area for dine-in, plenty of space to sit and enjoy meal with your team/group. read more

Too tired to cook dinner yesterday, I decided to get takeout from Queen Pizza for me and my SO. I stopped inside the corner pizzeria on Halsey Street and ordered a large pie, half broccoli. The guy behind the counter was nice and told me it would be about 10 minutes as he was making it to order. While inside waiting, I looked around and noticed that the space is pretty expansive. There's ample seating with a whole area of tables and counter seating. The place has high ceilings and huge windows, so there's lots of natural light and feels airy in there. I could see it being a good lunch spot to eat in. Plus, there are two flat screen TVs. Before leaving with our pizza, I did my usual ritual - dose the pizza with garlic powder, oregano, and red pepper flakes (It's in my head, but I always think these things taste better from the pizzeria shaker. You can have them at home, but it's just not the same). Classic, NY-style pie. Great crust, just the right amount of crisp and soft, not tough at all, had a good fold. The broccoli side was not soggy at all (that's a test when ordering pizza with veggie toppings - it's done right when not soggy). Pizza was the right choice. Will definitely return and try out other items on their menu - paninis, pastas, sandwiches, hot/cold subs, burgers, etc. read more

We walked from our hotel because it was the only place open nearby. We arrived about 30 mins prior to closing and there were 2 men behind the counter. There are plenty of tables but no one else inside. We were basically forced to buy the last two slices of cheese pizza and dismissed. We were so hungry and wanted to get back to our hotel so we paid for the pizza and left. With all the choices of pizza in the Newark/NYC area I wouldn't recommend this place. There is nothing welcoming from the service to the food. You can get a better slice of pizza in the city for $1.50. read more

Pizza for breakfast? Yes, please. Queen Pizza was voted number 16 in the whole state of New Jersey! They make their dough every day. It's fresh and properly cooked. The cheese is great quality. Good value. Open early too! read more

Pizza is good, but everything is overpriced especially their breakfast. The cooks don't use gloves and cooks the food with their bare hands. The only time they don't touch the food with their bare hands is during the peak lunch hour & you can imagine why. I ate at this place several times as I am visiting Newark on business. It's located near a few corporate buildings, which it became obvious why the food was so overpriced. Gave them several chances to change my mind (without letting them know I'm a Yelpie) and they continued to disappoint. The cashier taking my order sat on a personal call the entire time she was attending to me. Save your money & your time. read more

Been coming here for a long time now and I normally get a Prudential Salad with chicken. That salad is delicious and I highly recommend it. The pizza is better than Robert's. The place has a nice clean modern look. Highly recommend this place as a lunch spot. read more

Queen Pizza is always reliable. Their pizza is always very fresh. You order from the counter. Customer service is always very friendly. They have daily specials now. The Chicken Focaccia sandwich is delicious. It has Gouda, Tomatoes and Lettuce. They have a variety of beverages such as Coca-Cola, Stewarts Root Beer etc.. They even offer breakfast bagels and muffins. You'll see people from all walks of life enjoy food at Queen Pizza. read more

Below avearge crust and sauce with no taste equals a bad pie. Hard to believe they can't spend a little more money on better ingredients and make a decent pizza. Very disappointing read more

Good food. Friendly service. Great if you work nearby and want to be greeted with a smile, and served high quality food.

The absolute best pizza in the downtown area. This is the one place I find myself going too the most often. You can't beat the price for the food you get, and the people that work and run this place are really professional. read more

If you have business at the state government building, 124 Halsey St., this restaurant is the sensible place to go. I had lunch there in between meetings at the Attorney General's office and it is hard to beat the location. The chicken gyro special was a bit disappointing -- it was served like a gyro, but the meat was just chopped grilled chicken. The fries were good, however. And the servers are quite friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and pick up yourself, seat yourself. read more

Went to try them after trying the second version of .Excellent place to grab a slice. Good quality of food for a great price. Service has been top notch and I commend them on how well they treat their customers. If something got messed up they take care of it. They know what they're doing. No bells and whistles, they keep it simple and I appreciate that. They get a full house especially at lunch hours so be aware what time you're arriving. I have to add, I wouldn't typically get a soup at a pizza place, but I thought, it's chilly out why not? And it really hit me in the right spot. Great flavor, warmed me right up. Fantastic read more

Everyone at work seems to have an opinion of this place, good or bad, so I finally came here for lunch yesterday not knowing what to expect. I got the pizza with rabe, sausage, and tomatoes, and I definitely liked it but it wasn't mind-blowing. The crust was crispy but not too thin to hold the toppings, and each slice was a solid portion--overall a solid slice. However, one slice was almost $4. For someone used to slices closer to $2, it felt pretty expensive for what it was, especially with cheaper options in the area. read more

Good pizza at a good price. This place gets a little packed during lunch because there are many offices in the area.

I've had Queen's almost every day this week. The breakfast is good, decently priced, and they deliver. The home fries are a must! The queen's breakfast special sandwich is also really good. It has eggs, mozzarella, and hot soppressata which is spicy salami. If you like spicy, get this sandwich! Recently, I dropped by and ordered a calzone. They have some already made calzones, but they can also make it fresh. I don't like to wait, so I just took what was there. The calzone was huge, ended up eating half. It was really good and filling. Maybe one day I'll try the pizza! read more

Best pizzeria in downtown Newark by the court building and Prudential. Always fresh! The place has plenty of selections of different pies and plenty of seats for patrons. They organize the lunch rush by setting up areas to order certain type of meals, such as the pizza line, hot food line, and sandwich line. Your wait isn't that long, which is great since it's located in a busy business area. I've been to other pizzerias in the area and this is hands down the best one! read more

Joe made my day! Chose this spot because it was w/i walking distance of my hotel. Was visiting from Florida. The cashier Joe recommenced 2 cheese slices. I got one with extra cheese. The pizza was so tasty! Was crispy, yet soft. Prices were beautiful and restaurant had a nice feel. As a Chicago native, I must say this was some good pizza. Almost as good as the Chicago style. read more

Queen Pizza is a great place to grab a quick lunch when you are in downtown Newark. When you enter there are two lines, on the left you can order sandwiches, salads, entrees, etc. and on the right you order pizza (by the pie or by the slice). My go-to meal is the Halsey Street sandwich with chicken cutlet (vs. grilled chicken) which is garlic bread, breaded chicken, broccoli rabe, and mozzarella cheese. It is delicious. The garlic bread is crispy and the broccoli rabe adds a nice tartness. Sometimes, the chicken can be a bit dry but overall the flavor is good. My friends always get their pizza by the slice and they say the pizza is delicious and the slices are huge! read more

All my colleagues love the place. The service is very quick which is great for workers nearby. Very clean, not like the old location. The delivery is always reliable. But I found the pizzas are below average. They are too thick and don't make me "wow". Just got that "wow", you can get a five star rating. There are so many pizza places, I am wondering most can't make some good pizzas. Or maybe people just like any pizza? Still, it's a place to go when you have nothing to eat. Otherwise, this is not a place you would travel a few miles to eat. read more

Queen Pizza - Great slice! Nice and crunchy - Pizza Near Me - Newark, New Jersey

I had a craving for Pizza and my first thought was to take a ride to Newark for a slice at Queens Pizza. Queens Pizza has been around for years, I remember their Pizza growing up, so I felt I couldn't go wrong. Well today the pizza was just okay, it wasn't as good as I remembered, it's only been a few years since I've last had it; the only difference now is that they're in a new renovated location; do you think the move from the old divvy place had an effect on the taste of the pizza? Well I'll have to give it another try, but today really didn't make the cut, the taste was okay, but it was more like "Pizza-Toast", there Pizza has a thin crust and is usually crunchy, but today it's just too crunchy, maybe because I came so late in the day. Oh well everyone deserves a 2nd chance, but for today, I give them 3 stars, it wasn't the worse, but it was far below their previous standards, making the Pepsi the best part of the meal. read more

Every time I come here, I'm always satisfied! I love their pizza! . Nice & hot! I love their chicken parm sabdwhich as well and last time, I ordered something different and got their Penne Vodka, it's good but I think they need to add something to it & I'm not sure what it is. Overall, their pasta is good. I'll def get their chicken parm again read more

By far one of the worst experiences ever!! The workers were very rude and continued to talk bad about customers as we were standing there. Not to mention I never once saw them wash there hands when prepping our pizzas. And to make matters worse we waited for more than an hour and the food still came out warm. The staff was very unprofessional. Super overpriced not worth the experience... read more

Clean, new place with clean bathrooms. Large, and I assume it's busy on weekdays but there's no one here on a Saturday afternoon. I got a slice of cheese pizza. It's alright, I guess. Bland and the crust is chewey. Not the worst pizza I've had, but far from the best. read more

Delicious pizza, great quick service. Also the interior is beautiful, they did a great job renovating.

I'd prefer not to eat in places where the women are addressed by "Honey" and "Baby", and the men are addressed as "Sir".

WOW!!! I've had pizza before that was soggy, greasy and taste like card board. This pizza taste fresh, and you leave feeling full. Don't confuse this with the other Queen Pizzas. This is the original and the best. The clientel consist of lawyers, students, and people from all over. The workers are helpful and some of them even know you by your first name. Decent pizza, salads and other stuff. I think it makes sense that they have two lines (one for pizza and one for everything else) because of the lunch rush.
