I used to eat Dominick's Pizza when I was a teenager, living in Hillside. I recently had pizza delivered from here while in NJ visiting family. First the pizza still tasted the same as it did 15 years ago... a plus, and the Italian cheeseburger was everything I had been looking for. The food was so flavorful, it really transported me back to the 90s. My only complaint was the delivery took a really long time, bu the weather was bad, likely a factor. read more

Food is good but workers an owners are disrespectful and don't own up to any mistakes they make .... I recommend nobody even enter this establishment ! ...... I work close by an use to order from them a lot .. I order the same thing almost every other day and they Always .. When I moved from ny to hillside nj it took me several experiences to find a great mom and pop pizza place. After some trial and error I stumbled upon this place which happened to be very close to my new home. Their regular pizza and garlic knots are fantastic and they also have zeppolis which are one of my favorite little treats. For a small little pizza parlor on the corner with good prices who could ask for anything more? I highly recommend when in hillside. read more

Really bad experience !!! besides being empty at 8 o'clock on a friday night (should have turned away)...my wife after looking at the menu asked if they would make a buffalo chicken pie...they said yes ( large pizza chicken topping $14 on the menu)...ok...wait 15m to be done...and that's when all went down the drain....I get asked $20 and change for it and when I give my debit card to pay, the guy still has the balls to ask me that my bill will be 5% more because I was using the card !!!!!....really ??????...last time...I guess with this prices and attitude they will loose all their costumers :( read more

Gets the job done. You can count on them for a speedy delivery. Food is decent. Sandwiches are very generous. Salads are big. You can eat at the place. Parking across the street. Good selection of drinks. Small place. Kinda wish I had better to say. I've lived close to Dominick's for a couple of years now, and have patronized this place on a somewhat regular basis during that time. I'd usually order take out, but would order for delivery whenever I couldn't get out for whatever reason. As far as the quality of the actual food goes, it can be good, but the quality is WILDLY inconsistent. Sometimes the pizza would be perfectly cheesy with just the right amount of sauce, others it would be oval shaped, burned, or just be a ton of tomato sauce with some mozzarella sprinkled on top. The sandwiches were generally good IF YOU LIKE KETCHUP. I cant count the number of times I would order light or no ketchup on a sandwich and it would show up literally DRENCHED in ketchup to the point it made the bread and fries soggy, ruining the flavor and texture. The Italian hot dog is the worst victim, they would just dump ketchup and mustard on. You could tell them to hold the stuff or send it on the side, but just like the quality with the pizza, it was a gamble. You never know what your going to get. The true problem with this establishment however, is with customer service. My family and I have put up with occasional nasty service and wrong orders for years, (one time I walked out when the pizza maker complained about me barely leaning on the counter to watch a football game on their tv) but recently we came to the breaking point. As stated before I live 2 blocks away, and a few weeks ago I called in to place an order for lunch while I busy working at home, a standard order of a sandwich and fries that I had placed for years. However, on this day, I was told that there was a 15 dollar minimum order for delivery. I told the employee on the phone that I had been ordering from them the same order for years and have had it delivered plenty of times (about a 10 dollar order). The guy said thats impossible, that they always had a 15 dollar minimum (i guess the guy didnt feel like driving that day). Annoyed, I told him that we both know there is no 15 dollar minimum and that I live two blocks away, that its ridiculous that im being told this and asked to speak to a manager. He put the phone down without acknowledging my request, and comes back on the phone a minute later only to tell me " LISTEN MAN IF YOU WANT THIS YOU AT LEAST GOTTA BUY A 2.50 SODA AND WELL CHARGE A ONE DOLLAR DELIVERY CHARGE." This was the last straw, I was disgusted and told him he just lost a customer who has spent hundreds through out the years there and he just hung up on me. Thats the kind of service you get here, no loyalty to their own customers and they dont care about losing them. Its amazing that they are still in business with that mentality. Ive heard stories from family members too about rude service at the register. Please stay away, unless your a fan of ketchup, if you love lots and lots ketchup, this is the place for you. read more

I order a chicken cesar wrap for pick up I called in and spoke with the owner asking what comes with wrap just because other restaurants don't make Cesar wrap the same. I asked if parmesan cheese come with the wrap and he said yes, however when I received the wrap after my husband picked it up it only had lettuce and chicken no cheese So I called back letting him know that the order was missing cheese and the order was incorrect, right away he says why am I causing trouble.?Are you kidding me ? I'm customer and by the way I have been going to this fake pizzeria for the last 8 years and my husband been going for over 20 years. I expressed to the owner that my order was incorrect and instead of stating i'm causing trouble as a consumer you should say how can I make it right?He then put the Spanish guy on who made my order and he says to me that he added the cheese and he don't know what im talking about? I asked is the cheese on the other piece of wrap and he says yes it's on both and clicked the phone. I called back and told the owner very upset that I will bring my order back so he can see no cheese is on this wrap. Very rude unprofessional never again will I step foot in there. I just want others to know that the people there are rude. I bring my wrap back not to get my money back, but to have him make it right. He did nothing I'm beyond pissed because on the phone he did not handle the situation well and he started to yell and then I in turn yelled . I was very upset and disappointed. He says you looked stupid in front of the camera and shoves the money in my hand. I said well you lost a customer he says I been here 30 years that may be true because where you are located but that does not changed your professionalism and reviews. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I've been supporting this place for well over 25yrs as well as many of my friends and colleagues. Certainly not because they're the best, but simply out of convenience. I typically purchase the exact same thing each time I'm there. However, I've noticed they have scaled back tremendously on the ingredients used. I mentioned to the owner's son (who appears to be running it now) that I took notice of it. He wasn't very happy that I pointed out that fact to him. His reply was "it's still good tho". After taking a few bites, I finally came across a piece of chicken. As soon as I tasted the chicken, i immediately noticed a funny taste to it. I chewed a little more before discarding the piece of chicken. I approached the counter with NO other customers present to advise them that the chicken had a very funny taste. Possibly spoiled or just weird from sitting out too long in the heat. The son/manager became very defensive. Claiming they've been selling it all day with no complaints. While this may be true, as a loyal customer, I knew something was definitely off about it. I then requested a regular slice of pizza to which he attempted to charge me again for! Are you serious?? He said, "there's nothing wrong with this, no one else has a problem, this costs me money" I reminded him that I buy this quite often because I like it. There's no reason to make it up. I've even referred others for this very item. He acknowledged that fact, but still was not receptive to the feedback. I advised him of all the business that my colleagues give to his restaurant and his reply was "that's ok, we'll be fine". Really?? Very arrogant to say the least. While I'm aware this is not a 5star restaurant, I still prefer to support local businesses and would appreciate better customer service. If my dollar isn't valued at this local business, I will gladly spend it elsewhere. If you're running a business, you should be open to receiving feedback. Especially from a regular customer.
