To say I was disappointed in this place is an understatement…read more My spouse and I went there more than once and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food very nice, quiet and respectful place. Unfortunately not today. The server seemed inexperienced and was not attentive to the customer's needs and when she was confronted , she didn't care. The Owner for some reason brought their children to the establishment and they were uncontrollable, yelling and screaming bumping into tables, not a good atmosphere for a restaurant. If you own an establishment, I would suggest hire a babysitter. To have children yelling and screaming, it kills the atmosphere. And ruins the experience. PLUS WE WERE SO CLOSE TO THE OVEN Where they make the pizza so they saw us waiting they LITERALLY served everyone else around us except for our table. Lastly when we were finally served, they only sent us one order MIND YOU only after we complained when we had 4 at the table who ordered and we were waited for said Orders for the past 35 minutes. I TOLD THEM NO...take it back please why would take one order after waiting that long..... That was the last straw for me, I asked for the check and left... No one said sorry and no one cared im hoping the color of our skin wasn't a factor but these days its not impossible. This was a very disappointing, disgusting and unfortunate experience. I will not be returning to this establishment nor recommend anyone to come.

I moved…read moreto and lived in Cranford for 33 years and this was a consistent "go to" pizza shop (yes, they sell other Italian food, but I go to pizzerias to eat pizza). I recently returned to Cranford for a visit and had to make "my pizzeria" a stop. Upon entering, I was greeted by new and friendly faces. I got engaged in a conversation with Dad of the owner, a man who grew up in the Bronx - where you could find great pizza when I was a kid. I am pleased to say that the new ownership is upholding the New York pizza standard well: if you want genuine NY pizza, this is a worthy stop. Manga!

DoorDash Pizza Diaries - Calabria Pizza…read more Another dash, another slice--because if I deliver it, I have to try it. That's the rule. Calabria Pizza is one of those solid, no-nonsense neighborhood spots that knows exactly what it's doing. The pizza hits that sweet spot: a nicely cooked crust with just the right chew, sauce that's flavorful without being overpowering, and cheese that's balanced--not greasy, not sliding off the slice and ruining your shirt mid-bite (we've all been there). From a Dasher's perspective, orders were ready on time, staff was chill, and pickups were smooth--which already puts them ahead of half the places I visit. From an eater's perspective? This is dependable, classic pizza you'd happily order again on a random Tuesday when cooking feels like a personal attack. Is it trying to reinvent pizza? Nope. Is it doing the fundamentals right? Absolutely. If you're ordering through DoorDash or grabbing a slice in person, Calabria Pizza is a safe bet--and in the pizza world, that's high praise. Final verdict: out of 5 Reliable slices, good balance, and Dasher-approved efficiency. I'd dash it--and eat it--again.

The onion ring were just horrible (see pic) as they were hard as rocks, partially breaded as raw onion was visible, and very crumbly and greasy. The turkey and cheese sub was on old bread as evidenced by the hard ends and edges. Minimal turkey and cheese, old tomatoes and rancid pickles also noted. The Sub was dry even though I requested oil and vinegar. I was extremely dissatisfied as this came to $35. I got ripped off. The only reason I even gave them 2 stars is because their pizza has been good in the past. I'll just stick with the pizza, hoping they won't miss this up. Also, while waiting for my order, I observed the guy making the pizzas pick-up a ball of raw dough and put it up to his nose to smell (WTF). On second thought, I don't think I'll be returning.

Johnny Napkins is a chain of pizza shops (they recently opened a location in Cranford) and it definitely has a sense of humor about itself. When you walk in the walls are painted with various characters including their mascot "Johnny Napkins". It really adds a fun feel to the space. They have plenty of seating including large tables with about 6-8 tall seats around them and a bar where individuals can sit and eat. Shakers with garlic salt, pepper and more are spread throughout the eatery so you can spice up your slices. The main counter has a glass case with a bunch of square and round pies on display. I wound up getting a slice with mushrooms and a BBQ chicken slice. Service was super friendly and efficient. These folks were *busy* with a constant stream of walk-ins and phone calls at the same time. I was very impressed. My slices came quickly and I sat at the counter to enjoy my food. The slice with mushrooms was excellent. Nicely heated up, a good crust and just the right amount of cheese. It was not too salty and had plenty of flavor. The BBQ chicken slice however featured a thicker crust (even though it was a slice from a round pie). I prefer a thinner crust but this was still good with a nice chew. The only reservation I had were the chunks of chicken themselves. They were a *tad* dry but this was the last slice on the platter, so I imagine it had been there for a minute (and I knew this, so this one's on me). I'm really glad I stopped into Johnny Napkins. Now I know it's a good slice and will definitely visit any of their locations in the future.
