    Buffalo chicken pizza and ziti
    Yesenia M.

If you're looking for some authentic cuisine, this is a must! COMETS PIZZA is the OG of pizza in Hillside! Totally worth any trip to come over and have a nice slice, a pasta dish, or an incredible chicken Parm! You don't want to miss this spot! The staff is incredibly sweet and the location is family friendly and also provides a separate eating space for a night out dining.

Quite possibly the best pizza I have ever tasted... well let's be honest it was the best. Not being from this coast I've heard tales of how the pizza on the east coast is better and obviously this place stands up to the hype of the pizza. The bathroom needs to be talked about specifically because it was immaculate and tidy and smelled so nice. I went to wash my hands before I ate and was so impressed on how clean it was. The dining room was cute and super clean too it was next to the place where you order so don't be fooled when you walk in I don't know why they had the other room but maybe it was for to go orders but it doesn't matter I sat down and they brought all the stuff to eat to me. One down side for me though I would have liked a soda machine like the ones that pour into the cup not the bottles, not a major thing but it would have made that feeling of being in a real pizza place like when I was a kid come back. We don't have those places anymore they used to be everywhere. But hey like I said GO EAT HERE! It was delicious and to the owner or people if you read this know I took my leftover pizza home with me on a 7 hour trip back to the west coast. It made it safe and sound and I kept getting asked for a slice from everyone on my trip home. But I held my ground pizza this good I wasn't about to share!

Chicken Parmigiana, ziti, and garlic knots.

Their pizza is good, but I come here for the chicken parmigiana it is soooo good, and the portion is huge. I've been coming here for 10 years and this is the only place I come to for the above meal. It's summertime and too hot to be turning an oven on, so Comet's is my place for baked ziti or chicken parm.

    Spaghetti

Food was exceptional, Great Pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, tiramisu. Will definitely return next time I am in town.

It was my first time doing karaoke and I honestly don't know that I would do it again. We booked a karaoke room for an hour for 6 people on a Thursday evening, and while the singing was fun, the service was below subpar. When we arrived, we did not have a full menu available to us in the room, so it took a few mins to get our order in. Our server kept close tabs of every minute in karaoke, but not the food. It took over 60 minutes to get our wings! Apparently there was some sort of mix up in the kitchen & while we were understanding, what threw us for a loop was that even though our wings were DELAYED, our server was hesitant to offer complimentary time in our karaoke room while we waited. Right at the 60-minute mark, he was quick to offer two options - our wings to go or a table in the dining room. In the end, we had to negotiate an extra hour in the karaoke room since our food took SO long to come out. When paying the check, we were surprised to see a charge for food we never ever received! I'm super disappointed that they tried to take advantage of us, when we were very understanding of their mix up. In my opinion, servers could use a lesson or two in customer service. Never in my time in hospitality, have I ever behaved in the way they did.

I dared to try the cauliflower wings (half & half), which actually wasn't bad. Both flavors was good, although I personally like the spicy better (just make sure you can handle it, although it won't be too bad if you're used to spicy food). Garlic fried rice was okay, but not the best. Also seems like they don't give you a side of pickled radish at this point, but maybe that's because we're in Jersey. Also the kimchi fries weren't what I expected. What the fries were crispy and tasty, they just give you a tiny cup of kimchi cheese sauce. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I expected the fries to be way more loaded. I ordered for pickup and it did take a lot longer than expected. I also felt sorry for the hostess, who was running around trying to help. There also was 5 people just standing around chatting, but the music was just a tad too loud to hear anyone trying to get their attention. I'm sure dining in would be a chill vibe, but can still have that and have it all together yk? Last thing is I definitely asked for bacon mustard sauce and heard them confirm over the phone, a bit annoyed they forgot that!

This restaurant looks great. There is a nice counter area to order, a really nice seating area inside and even outdoor seating. Some of the decor makes you feel like you're in a household's kitchen. By the cashier there is a table you can wait at complete with local newspapers. It's very charming. This was my first visit and I ordered my food to go. I had two key dishes. The first was hummus with falafel, which is very standard for me whenever I go to any Mediterranean place. When I opened the take out box at home I was really surprised. Most places give you a good amount of hummus, but here it was basically a thin layer. Kind of like a layer of mayo on a sandwich (maybe a tad thicker). Then on top of the hummus was a huge layer of pickled vegetables and tiny pickles. This was a surprise. I've had hummus orders from a lot of restaurants before and I've *never* seen this on an order before. Then the falafel balls were on top and well...they were really dry and didn't have much flavor. Now, sometimes you can cover that up by just coating the falafel in hummus, but there wasn't enough hummus to do that. The dish was just disappointing all around. The other dish I tried were the Lemon Potatoes. They were good! The lemon flavor was strong and they were cooked well. Not the best example in the area, but they would do in a pinch. At some point I'll give this place another try. Maybe this was a fluke (at least I hope so).

It was Friday late afternoon and overall, fairly empty. We started with a sangria flight, which can be shared. I gotta say their seasonal sangria, the watermelon, was the best of the three! We chose Tuna Crudo and Shishito Peppers as our apps. The Tuna Crudo was just ok, but we throughly enjoyed the shishito peppers! We also split the Pollo Pizza which was perfectly crispy and cheesy. All in all, good food and fairly priced. We'll be back again soon and looking forward to trying some of their other tapas

For dinner, my friends and I opted to share a variety of tapas, which our server did a nice job in timing out so that they wouldn't overcrowd our table all at once. All the dishes were fantastic, but the standouts for me were the seared octopus (deliciously charred!) and bacon wrapped dates (addicting little sweet & savory bites). When we were ordering, we were also curious about the paella, but in the end, the minimum order of 2 servings at $29-35pp felt too high. Drink options are plentiful, and we were surprised that not only do they offer pitchers of sangria, but also spritzes. We ordered the Hugo Spritz (light, refreshing elderflower spritz), and the pitcher was just perfect for sharing for 4. Lovely spot overall, and would love to come back again for a nice dinner out.

The photos and videos that you see on instagram do not match what you see when you arrive. The restaurant itself feels gimmicky and thrown together. Sure, the holograph on the wall was interesting to look at for 30 seconds, but that's about it. Our server, Nicole, didn't seem like she wanted to be there. The drink selection (especially if you're a rum drinker) was limited. The rum cocktail that I settled on was awful. The manager/owner? stopped by our table and greeted my husband, shook his hand but completely ignored me.... Very strange. Not a big deal for us, but if you are not used to paying $10 for water, an included gratuity or an additional "service fee", get used to it while dining here. The reason for the three stars you ask? While the menu is limited, everything we tried tasted good. The macaroni and cheese balls were my favorite and the mussels, although just a few, were tasty. Besides our assigned server Nicole and the manager, the staff at Casa De Lobo that we interacted with seemed generally friendly and happy to serve us. The pizzeria that you enter into had delish slices (we grabbed a few when leaving) and it was a cool "speakeasy entrance". I came, I saw, I won't be back.

There was a young lady sitting in the corner in the phone telling us that there were no seats if we didn't have a reservation. Not the most polite but whatever. We went back to the bar and got a table. Why are bar tables always so sticky?! Anyhoo, we just missed the Happy Jour menu but it was only a $1-2 discount (except for the burger: $4). Service was pleasant and attentive. The food was overpriced for sitting in a bar. $30 for a bowl of ramen! (I don't know how it tastes but it's $17 across the street.) $22 for a burger and fries! $10 for two little bao with a single shrimp in each! Ok, that's not too bad since Bao is generally overpriced for some reason but I could have gotten more than one shrimp. Unfortunately, the price did not reflect the quality. My friend who got the ramen said it was in the bottom 25% he's ever had. My burger was pretty good but the bun was toasted and brittle and made an unnecessary mess. The fries--personal preference--I don't like skinny fries. As for the bao, the shrimp was too salty. I liked the finishing salt but the flavoring salt was too heavy. Also, it was drizzled with aioli and I couldn't pick it up and eat it like the sandwich it was. Overall, a disappointment. Mediocre food and an elevated price for no reason.
