I stopped into this restaurant for a meal and when I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in to super cute restaurant. I was greeted and ordered: Vietnamese Coffee with coffee jelly Pho Bo with short rib Banh Mi Sandwich with Shrimp I loved the food and my favorite was the sandwich! The drink was also super tasty! All in all a really good experience!
Banh and Bo is one of my favorite local restaurants! I've been here frequently for their banh mi, pho soup, and their rice bowls with grilled pork. My husband is Vietnamese and loves the food here as well, so we're really happy to have Vietnamese food accessible to us. The ambiance is bright yellow and feels homey. The staff are attentive and friendly. Even when they are busy, the food comes out relatively quickly! And everything I've ordered so far has been so filling and delicious. My favorite order has to be their signature banh mi. The meat is so savory, and the veggies on top are crunchy and fresh. I get mine without jalapenos since I don't really like spice, and they are very kind to accommodate my order. Overall, I'll definitely be back here again, whether for a meal or for a quick snack!
$12 bahn mi signature $9 grilled pork $5.25 cold viet coffee (b4 addtl +.75 for boba) $2.50 bottled pepsi $4.95 crinkle cut fries it was overall a nice experience. food was good. my signature one was a tad salty with the minced pork, and i would have liked it to be more caramelized for texture. however, both of our sandwiches were good. I am not sure if the size/amount of ingredients in the $12 sandwich warrants a $3 difference compared to the other $9 sandwiches, but worth a try if you generally like the mixed cold cuts flavors. fries were good. my partner enjoyed them soft in the inside and crispy on outside. the drinks were great too. $5.25 alone for a large viet iced coffee is a deal (no sugar mod available). they dont have coca cola products. in general, the drink prices are comparable to ones in a standard boba shop but cheaper as their drinks come in large drink sizing! i would come again especially since there is a lack of viet spots in Newark. i would try their pho next time!
I feel like this place likely has such great ratings because they host pop-up's that incentivize leaving positive ratings. In terms of the ordering experience, it's primarily kiosk based and they have a screen that is calling out orders based on your order number. They called my number but my drink wasn't done yet which felt a little odd. As far as seating goes, if there's not an event going on, there's a few options (bar stools and tables). When there's are events going on, the space feels very small. I saw another customer pour an 8 oz water bottle into her empty cup, and it practically filled it - so servings aren't too big. I found my drink a bit too sweet but I didn't see an option to customize the sweetness level. All in all, I'd say this place is okay
Great choice for food if youre near Prudential Center. The food is ok better than any other options here and reasonably priced. Food ranged from $5-15. I got the bbq pork banh mi, tempura brussel sprouts, mango passionfruit slush and strawberry slush. the banh mi needs to be a little bit more crispy and pork needs a little more flavor. The brussels has a nice crisp but over cooked.
Was in the Newark area and wanted some Banh Mi, so I stopped into Banh & Bo. I got a grilled pork Banh mi which was tasty and a lychee bubble tea. The place has tables for a dine in experience. It was definitely clean with an attractive interior. The service was great, I was greeted by one of the workers at the counter that helped me navigate the menu; very friendly. I would definitely go back to trysome of their tasty menu offerings. I would also recommend.

Best in Newark! Top tier service, flavorful and clean food, modern bright aesthetic. The lemongrass pork banh mi, chicken rice bowl, and fruit tea and milk tea drinks were all delicious. The banh mi bread especially, was freshly made and crunchy exterior and soft interior. Come eat here before your adventures in the city. Arrived for the first time during the Baekhyun World Tour at Prudential Center and there were hundreds of people ordering. Despite that, only waited 30 mins for our food and customized drinks during such a crazy time. Staff were attentive and caught any mistakes and responded promptly. Expect crowds during concert days but don't hesitate for comforting food. Definitely a go-to spot and will come back again soon! EXO-L
Came here for the popup event they were hosting before the Baekhyun concert and will say that I was pleasantly surprised by the food since i wasnt expecting much for a popup collab! The banh mi had a good amount of filling and the strawberry tea slush actually had a good tea flavor and was the perfect refreshing drink as I waited in line for hours in 98 degree weather
It is pretty good soup, the only problem is the volume is not so big, so it is hard to have full with one pho

Other patrons seemed satisfied as well, the pho looks good and I might have to order it next time I'm there! The banh mi is so good, I'd put it on the level of what I've had in Chinatown in Manhattan.
I stopped by Banh & Bo before a show at nearby Prudential Center, which was a bit of a mistake because it was super busy! Happy to see their success in this area because I don't think there's any pho restaurants in the immediate area. We stayed despite the crowd, ordered on the kiosk and waited a bit for our food. Given how busy it the staff was trying their best to keep up. The place unfortunately does not have many tables but we were able to grab one. The food and bubble tea were delicious! The lemongrass pork was so flavorful and tasted authentic. I would absolutely return if I'm in the area but be prepared for a possible crowd especially before an event read more
I enjoyed the lemongrass pork banh mi (select "extra spicy") and coffee. I'm never glad to see kiosks and these were glitchier than most. Maybe it was foolish to stop by before the Nine Inch Nails shows when seats were sparse, yet a normal visit wouldn't have resulted in the awesome experience of a stranger joining our One Battle After Another discussion. He saw it eight times. I wouldn't, but once is fine. read more

Top 101* places on yelp...no it didn't make the list, but I'm adding it anyway (it's that good)! On a long layover in Newark, at a hotel right by Penn Station I jump on google for a close place to eat. I immediately stopped on the Vietnamese restaurant with almost a perfect rating at 4.9 stars and 500+ reviews. I'm equally excited, and skeptical. NY/NJ residents aren't the easiest to win over. I walked maybe 6 min to the restaurant. It was a nice sized store front with a well lit dining room, and self and full service kiosk. I was immediately greeted by the staff, I chose to do self serve. Even with that, I still felt very welcomed and engaged once I placed my order. All the items were displayed, and looked fresh. The staff carefully put together a teriyaki salad bowl, and pho for me in about 10 minutes. Once I got the food to my hotel room, I was genuinely impressed. The Pho was so rich in flavor, without being too salty. The noodles were the perfect texture. 10/10. A few hours later after the gym I cracked open the salad bowl. This was referred to me by the staff vs the lemon grass chicken. I am glad I listened, the amount of tender juicy chicken is impressive. The crispy lettuce, and robust tomatoes were a great combination of healthy, and hearty. Bahn & Bo deserves the accolades it's earned, and the one I made up at the beginning. Pro tip: The prices are so good, and so are the portion sizes. If you are looking for fresher, lighter, healthier, skip the Chipotle and Qdobas around the corner, and come here. read more

Came here looking for Mogee tea but was pleasantly surprised with Vietnamese banhmis. We got Viet Coffee and some fruit slush--those are mid. Star of show is the classic ham & pate! Ordered 1, and went back for ten to take home and share! Go, if you are a banh mi lover! read more
