Dropping back in to say, this is still my favorite restaurant in New Jersey and my favorite Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and never too busy. The menu is extensive, and we haven't tried a single thing we didn't like. Many people eating here are Vietnamese and they have a lot of authentic dishes. The pho is excellent along with their other noodle soups. The pork chop fried rice remains some of the best fried rice I've ever had. The pork chop itself is marinated, tender, and delicious. 3rd time ordering from Pho Saigon in the past week, I love how consistent they are with the quality. Their summer rolls are tightly rolled, ample amount of shrimp, and has just the right amount of snap. Pho Dac Biet perfectly prepared, eye of round separated in a little bag, the rest of the meats perfectly cooked, and the pho broth is very fragrant and flavorful (i don't even add hoisin or sriracha). This is one of the authentic Vietnamese restaurants in Jersey City. Food is always on point: flavorful and tasty! As we're coming in, we were greeted by the staff and were seated right away. Staff here are very courteous. The service is quick as well. Food is delicious! We started with their famous shrimp/pork rolls. Ordered mostly seafood dishes: sauteed shrimp in lemongrass sauce, fried squid, fried flounder, crispy noodles topped with seafood and lemongrass pork chops. One of the most Filipino pho places I ever been to. Pho was good and light. Lots of meat, lots of broth, little noodles. A full plate of onions and bean sprouts was just perfect. Got some wings and orange chicken to go and those were also really good. Definitely needed this especially since I wasn't feeling well. And the fact that it's walking distance from me makes me happy cry. It's so funny I call this place Filipino because I swear to you it looks like the go to place for the families after church haha. My co-workers and I have been to this places many times for team outing. There is a Pho Saigon in Hackensack that my husband and I go to often. This Pho Saigon is NOT the same. Same name but different menu and atmosphere. This location has extensive menu, lots to choose from and big space. The food is good, no doubt about it. That's why we come here so often. The price of the food is very much reasonable. The staff here are always nice. I highly recommend this place. One less star for dirty utensils unfortunately. Nothing beats nostalgia. Especially to a local Jersey City Asian family. Miss Saigon was our local sanctuary for good, cheap, and I do mean cheap Top quality Vietnamese food. In the early 2000's, I could treat our family of 5 for $50. Times have changed. I used to complain about Vietnamese food not being good in the area. I would only go to CA or Edison, NJ at LUA. Now this place isn't as pretty but it's dang good! I would say it's pretty close to the shops in CA. I've only tried the shaken beef, specialty bbq Vermicelli noodles, special pho and sandwiches. I would say the pho is good and the vermicelli noodles too. I would skip the banh mi. The shrimp was so salty and over priced and the bbq pork was chewy and not tender. Thai tea was good nothing special but I'm just happy and glad there's a good Vietnamese joint near me! There's tons of parking too. And if you're curious this place used to be the old Jollibee. I don't have any photos of the other dishes because I was just that hungry but I've attached the sandwiches. When you're ordering Togo remember to ask for more fish sauce if your dish requires it, the amount given is too little esp if you like to slurp your nước mắm like i do. Lol. read more

Our current go-to Vietnamese place in NJ! We have been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Their grilled pork is the star of this place. I love getting the vermicelli with grilled pork and spring rolls (always crispy and fresh!) and their pho is very flavorful and the meats are always on point. With some exception, the most authentic Asian food is generally found in suburbia. 'Course that's out of the question for most New Yorkers--who generally skew car-less--so when our car-owning friend offered to take us here for a super-legit Vietnamese meal, we said yes obvi. First: Portions here are ginorm. Like, apps are entrees, entrees are Applebee's entrees, you get the gist. Second: Don't bother getting any boba beverage. The pearls were inedibly hard. My bad for trying to be adventurous. Thankfully, everything else was great starting with our enormous "appetizer" of Muc Rang Moi (salt-baked squid), which was perfectly fried. The Com Tam Suon Bi Cai (broken rice platter) came with loads of grilled pork chops, shredded pork and crabmeat egg--all very well done. And my Mi Bo Kho (beef stew noodle soup) was pure comfort in a bowl. It's hilarious that it'll probably be easier for me to go to actual Vietnam than to get a car to come back here, but if that day ever comes, I won't complain. The menu has at least 600 items, so I'll probably bring an army. read more

Very spacious inside with plenty of seating. Staff is very friendly and is open to giving you recommendations. The Pork Chop was one of the juiciest ones we've tried at a Vietnamese Restaurant. Really really good. The Spring Rolls used an egg roll wrapper which is different than we are used to but the filling was so tasty. The beef cubes were very seasoned and the watercress is very tasty. The sugar cane drink was so good! However, the seasoning of the beef cubes were a bit on the salty side. If it wasn't for the salty beef this would have easily be given 5 stars. The prices are decent but on the pricier side. We are willing to go back to try other menu items. read more

First time trying this spot and it was good! The staff were friendly and attentive, they came by almost right away to take our order and of course we weren't ready but they were patient and came back a few moments later. Any questions we had about the menu they were able to answer too. We didn't order any special drinks but they do offer free lemon water which was refreshing and this restaurant is BYOB which is awesome. The pho itself was very hearty in terms of the amount of meat we got. Other places usually load up the pho with more noodles but I feel as bold as to say this pho must've been at least 35-40% meat which made it super filling. If I knew that, my boyfriend and I could've shared one bowl but I look forward to trying some of their other dishes since my first experience was so lovely. read more

Gonna start with my ONLY negative & go from there. The Crispy Spring Rolls were more wrapper than anything. You could barely see the filling. Also, the wrapper itself was not the typical wrapper I'm accustomed to with Cha Giò. Lastly, in used to it being served with a lot of lettuce to eat with it but this place only used one piece of lettuce as a garnish. Nevertheless, the flavor was good and the sauce was on point. We also ordered the Grilled Pork Chop with Wrapped Shrimp Broken Rice Plate, Seafood Pho, and the Grilled Pork Summer Rolls which were my absolute FAVORITE! The accompanying peanut sauce was PERFECT!! Soooo good! The prices were on the high side but everything was so fresh and filling so I can't complain. The service was THE BEST!!! Our server was GREAT! He was kind, incredibly attentive but not overly attentive, and he was always us smile with his humor and that's always impressive. I really wanted to love this place. But it felt like I spent $60 (not including tip) on just a basic meal. I got served a crap ton of bean sprouts though which probably didn't even cost $2 bucks in food cost. Broth is decent but the toppings were just average to me. Little tiny cut pieces of red meat. The $17 pork chop rice dish came on a gigantic plate but it was the world's thinnest pork and not much of it along with 1 fried sausage. Oh and 2 slices of cucumber and few strands of carrot. Paid almost $8 for 2 little basic summer rolls. I guess I wanted more meat but I didn't get it. And this giant cow knuckle thing came with my stone bowl and had nothing but fat and gelatinous goop on it. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered grilled pork pho. The depth of the broth was well balanced. It doesn't smell roasted but definitely time driven collagen rich broth. I also had the Banh Mi a few times and it was pretty good. They could've used Maggie seasoning to elevate it and maybe some more butter and extra flower pate. The biggest issue with Banh Mi here in the east coast is the bread. That's not the case here. This is REAL authentic Vietnamese Banh Mi. The bread is crisp airy and light. You can't get this from any NYC Banh Mi locations that serve Italian bread. They definitely have the bread specially made for them daily. The service was great. I can tell they'll be very successful as they treated all the patrons as family. Always hovering around asking if all is well. Great group and extremely attentive. They are quickly remediating a lot of issues, but it's not mistakes that make us. I'm willing to keep going back as the food is very consistently good. I got the filet mignon pho with shrimp (i added it), it was really good, I also got the spring rolls which were very good and almost refreshing.
