Jersey City is kind of lacking in great Thai spots, or honestly, just Thai spots in general. The craving for pad see ew was too strong to ignore one night so I searched and searched until I found thai plates with great reviews. We made a little thai mezze with pad see ew with shrimp, pad thai with chicken and pineapple fried rice with pineapple. -pad see ew was incredible, 5 stars, wish I could have it every night. The sauce was delicious, the noodles were so yummy and it had a really nice amount of crunchy veggies. And the shrimp were perfectly cooked! -I didn't love the pad thai but it was very much liked by others, so that might be a me preference. -the pineapple fried rice was really tasty, and almost had a curryish taste to it which was different. But the tofu that it came with was almost dehydrated. It was literally crispy on the outside and hallow on the inside. I didn't have more than a bite. Get the pad see ew!

I tried Thai Plates recently. I work in the area, and was craving something spicy. I got Drunken Noodles with Tofu. I loved the noodles, it was delicious. It was ready by the time I picked it up. While the noodles were tasty, they could use a little bit more flavor in terms of sauce and heat level. The crispy tofu was also good in the noodles. I saw they had chili oil on tables so if you dine in you can add more heat. Next time, I will ask that on the side, so I can make it spicier as per my taste. They had few tables to dine in. It's more like a take out place. Personally, I am fine with the prices but some of my co-workers find it tad bit on expensive side for lunch. Can't wait to try more dishes.

This place is newer and it has a nice cozy vibe! Very modern and spaces to sit. We didn't have to wait too long and the food came out fast. We got the pad Thai, green curry, and mango sticky rice!! It was really good and we had leftovers. It was even better the next day! I highly recommend checking this place out!! The plating is so pretty and insta worthy. They also got hand crafted chai and matcha drinks!

I was walking around Jersey City and discovered this hidden gem. This restaurant isn't that big but I am glad there is a thai place in this area. I tried their drunken noodles with chicken and the thai curry with chicken. Both are delicious. The person who took our order was helpful and answered our questions. I never got a chance to sit down at eat there because both times I took my order to go. The restaurant very cute and clean. Since it is a small restaurant, my order usually does take some time to make. If you plan to order take out here just have a little patience for them to cook your yummy food.

Tried the spicy basil pork with egg. It tasted fine -- salty and satisfying with rice. But honestly, the whole experience felt overpriced and underwhelming. The space is very plain, it doesn't feel worth it.

I am so excited we have a Thai restaurant in the vicinity!! This place is a few minute walk from the PATH station. The store is very small but cute and clean. There are 4 tables in the restaurant so it's mostly a takeout spot - however 2 tables fit up to 6 people and 2 tables are 2-seaters by the window. The cashier/waiter is very friendly and ordering was quick and easy. Food came out relatively quickly and was very fresh. The kitchen is right behind the counter so you can smell the wok working! We ordered the Spicy Thai Basil with egg ($16.95) and the Pad Thai ($14.95) but added beef and pork to both. We also got a side of tom yum soup ($8.95). Overall the food was really tasty and I asked for spicy on all the dishes -- the Thai pepper kick was so good! The waiter came to us to offer us cups with ice for our Thai tea ($6) and gave us a side of Thai chili pepper powder since he noticed we like it spicy, which was very appreciated. Prices are definitely a little on the higher side, but that is to be expected for the location and cuisine. I would definitely come here again to try their specials and other dishes next time. Highly recommend others to come try!!!

This area of Jersey City has been a Thai food desert for as long as I've lived here, so its nice to see some new Thai restaurants open recently. Thai Plates is eye-catching with it's bold red and white designed space. I have had a curry and the pad Thai and enjoyed both, perhaps the curry a bit more. For a time they had vegetable spring rolls, but have taken them off the menu for now because they were very labor-intensive to make. And that is exactly why you should eat here, they seem to really care about what they are selling with every Thai Plate.

This is a solid place for Thai food. My recommendation is to get the udon because it was their favorite and we loved it - super flavorful. I like that it's unfussy and what you want when looking for a casual spot for a good meal. The cashier was friendly and service was good. I was pretty upset when sky Thai closed in downtown jc because we don't have any other good Thai places. Now at least we have this! One note - the drunken noodles weren't the best I've had I think they could improve it by using more sauce and kicking up the spice. But it was still delicious. Also they have an issue with ventilating the smoke in the restaurant so hopefully that's fixed soon.

This is a cute hole in the wall. the staff is nice and the place has a retro vibe. The large plates just seem like a normal portion. To me, "large" implies shareable, but it's only enough for one person really. I got a small plate and two large plates to share, and this was the perfect amount of food between two people. The papaya salad was tasty and had a lot of layered flavors, but i found the bottom to be really salty. The drunken noodles were exactly what i was looking for. The spicy thai basil was a little spicy but that's a good thing when it comes to thai. The egg was nicely cooked and runny when you cut it open. I enjoyed the flavors but found them to be a bit powerful. I wanted a thai iced tea as dessert but ending up getting it for my meal because i needed more balance overall. The mango sticky rice is good because it's not too sweet and the coconut condensed milk added a layer of flavor that felt right. I enjoyed this spot but it gets a little noisy with all the banging around in the open kitchen at the end of the night. it's still a nice place if you're in the area though.

There were a large variety of choices for the buffet, and I tried a little bit of everything. It was all cooked well and wonderfully flavorful with tons of warm seasonings. Stand outs included butter chicken, noodles, curry, and tandoori. I would have liked more seafood options and meat other than chicken though. The Naan was served warm and slightly crisp, while still being soft. I decided to also order a drink called Shahi Falooda. Since I never tried it, I didn't know how it was supposed to look, even though I thought the presentation was a bit weird, as there were pieces of toast dredged in the liquid. When I tried it, there seemed to be all the flavors described, including rose almond milk, tutti frutti, and vanilla ice cream. It tasted creamy, sweet, and unique, with the ingredients mingling well together. Service was definitely lacking. When the bill came, it was listed as a dessert, so I inquired about it. The waiter responded that they did not have the beverage available, so served me something else instead. This really irked me that the waiter would knowingly do this without mentioning up front that they were out of the beverage, allowing me the free choice to either order another drink or not get one at all. The waiter then told us it would be taken off the bill, but a different waiter came out to inform us that the manager would not allow that. While the food was actually pretty good, this was a very upsetting experience and I will not be returning. At least this taught me to always speak up when I have a doubt or question about anything I order.

From the moment we walked in, the owner personally seated us and ended up cooking our food himself. He has a quirky, memorable personality that adds to the charm of the whole experience. It's the kind of place where you can tell the food is made with intention rather than being rushed out of a big commercial kitchen. The dishes were packed with flavor and tasted very authentic. You can really tell the ingredients and spices are balanced the way Thai food should be -- bold, savory, a little spicy, and deeply satisfying. Everything we ordered had great texture and presentation as well. Overall, it was a unique dining experience with authentic flavors and a memorable host. If you're looking for a polished corporate restaurant this isn't it -- but if you want something personal, quirky, and genuinely delicious, Prince & I is absolutely worth visiting. Would definitely come back!!

A Decade of Love on a Plate: A Local Favorite That Punches Above Its Weight…read more This place is the definition of a neighborhood gem--the kind you almost want to keep secret, yet can't stop yourself from praising. Cheap and cheerful on the surface, it punches way above its weight class, delivering inventive, clean, Asian-inspired food that's masterfully cooked by clearly skilled hands--and made with real love. I've been coming back year after year for most of this restaurant's 10-year lifespan, and that consistency is no accident. Every dish tastes intentional, thoughtful, and deeply satisfying, with a clear goal: to feed people love on a plate. It's a super veggie/vegan friendly that easily wins over even my "meat and potatoes" husband--who happily cleans his plate every time. In an era where genuine hospitality feels increasingly rare, Perry single-handedly restored my faith that quality service is not extinct. Warm, attentive, and authentically kind, Perry makes every guest feel seen, welcome, and cared for--without pretense or attitude. This is food that nourishes, service that uplifts, and a place that keeps you coming back not just for the flavors, but for how it makes you feel. A true neighborhood treasure.

I've seen this restaurant circling my YELP for the last few months and put it on my "want to try"…read morelist. This place is absolutely solid! If you're looking for good flavorful food options, this has got to be on your "must try" list, I genuinely do not think you'll be disappointed. I ordered the blueberry lemon iced tea, maitake mushroom medley with the option of udon noodles & added chicken, the coconut curry with the option of ramen noodles and the rice pudding with caramel sauce for dessert. First things first, my absolute FAVORITE thing about this restaurant is the food contains no GMO's no preservatives, pink Himalayan salt to season and NO REFINED sugars- only agave and palm sugar to sweeten. I WISH I would've known about this spot sooner JUST for that detail alone. I am always on the hunt for a place that offers refined sugar free options, and with that comes this level of safety knowing what I am consuming has a heath standard/holistic approach to meet and me not having to feel guilty or worrisome after a meal. Absolute 10/10 in that aspect. I saw a few reviews mention the blueberry lemon iced tea, as someone not even a fan of lemonade I decided to give it a try. Let's just say, I was slow sipping my drinks to not finish it all and avoid getting another in the same sitting lol. It's well balanced, not sour, blueberry flavor is present and knowing it's sweetened with agave led to guilt free pleasure. Would recommend everyone to try it, even if you're not a fan of lemonade like I am. Another mention, lemonade tends to make my throat dry, due to its sourness and tanginess and that didn't happen at all. Think the blueberry was more prominent than the lemon, it was really enjoyable. The curry ramen was a highlight! If your a fan of curry, I think you def have got to try this. I actually didn't get it (my partner did) because I didn't wanna be let down, but it was absolutely delicious. I got the maitake medley udon noddles with added chicken and what a blast of flavor. It had veggies, mushrooms, chicken, udon, eggs, kimchi and was extremely flavorful. I was very surprised that each element of the dish had its own flavor and spice that really jumped out, but paired well together. The least favorite thing for me on this platter was the eggs. Just your standard egg, I'm a fan of soy-marinated eggs on my noodles and not a fan of regular boiled eggs, but they are always an added protein plus! One honorary note, is the kimchi. I like kimchi, don't love it, but this was the best kimchi I have ever had. I even ordered a side to go. Another cool thing is the food is cooked fresh, right in front of you. Tbh, we were the only ones in there at 6 PM and food took quite a while, but I appreciate and prefer freshness over quickness always. The rice pudding is light and the homemade refunded sugar-free caramel addition makes it so much better. As there were only two options of dessert on the menu (rice pudding & matcha ice cream) I decided to give it a go although I'm not really a fan of rice pudding. Was it amazing? No. Would I get it again? Possibly. This place was on the pricier side I would say. My bowl of maitake mushroom w/chicken (added chicken being a $6.50 dollar up charge) was $34. Worth it for that price point? Not really, but good none the less. I also ordered a small side of kimchi (the small clear containers) and that was $7 which I think is crazy, but also it was good. For a better price point, I might've asked for a jar lol. Customer service- the workers were nice, but not really personable, which I don't really care for much, but bringing this up because there was this sense that maybe I shouldn't be in there or they just possibly didn't want to work. I tipped nonetheless, but for being the only couple or people in there I thought we would be greeted by everyone, just a simple acknowledgement, but it felt more like we were bothering them by walking in. I understand that people have their days and you have no clue what someone is going through personally, but it was distinct enough to mention- especially as someone who never really comments on the customer service aspect. I see through it cuz the food was great! Something about it was also just a let down, but I can't put my finger on it. Although it was good, I don't see myself frequenting this place. Maybe the price point is deterring me, but I do think it's worth a try!
