This place has a great selection and they were very helpful in helping me figure out what dishes were vegetarian so I didn't have to do extra research. Great location near the other downtown restaurants!

Came here Friday evening for dinner with a group of 8. For the majority of the group, it was their first time trying Thai food. Without a reservation, we were seated in 5 minutes - still a busy night but we were serviced with kindness. I believe our server was the owner or manager in charge. And she did an excellent job servicing us. I chose to order the Tom Yum Noodle Soup and it was tasty but not my fave Thai dish. The broth was a bit on the sweet side but without the creaminess. Also, I would have appreciated shredded chicken and not ground chicken. While I have a few adjustments, it was not a horrible dish. It was tasty and warming to the soul.

The food here is excellent!!! I like to dine in because the restaurant is spacious and the service is very good. Been here many times and sometimes I order takeout. Highly recommend trying if you like Thai food.

Good food but it's Pricey. Newark Ave has high rent/ overhead area to pass to customers. Smaller portions too-Shrink- flation!! Did not even have paper bag unlike other Asian food places nearby. They did not care if customers slide & dropped food in the snow. Only 2 tables 4 customers SLOW thursday night.

Floral contemporary decor sets a modern urban ambiance. Situated in a vibrant Jersey City neighborhood, this place is a gem. Understated from the pedestrianized pavement and greeted by BYOB sign. Started Steamed Dumplings accompanied by Shrimp Tom Yum soup. The Kanom Jeeb dumplings were tender and packed with flavor, the soup however needed a little more to it as I found it very one dimensional in terms of that sourness that needs the Umami to balance. Shrimps were tender and not overcooked. For the main event I chose Crispy Duck Gra Pow served with white rice. It was a stand out!

I went to One Dee Siam for a work dinner. We came at 4 for dinner and had the place to ourselves. The restaurant is very nicr. I love the decor. The light fixtures and chairs are so nice. The wait staff is very hospitable without being over bearing. The Thai food here is some of the best I've tasted! When this restaurant was under new management it was called Swadee which was delicious so One Dee Siam is just as delicious! Restaurant is BYOB which is a bonus! Theres nothing like bringing ur own bottle of wine to have a meal and definitely cheaper option. I will def be back for lunch. If your in the mood for good Thai, this place is s must try!!!

I don't have too many options for Thai in this general location. Yesterday I picked up a dinner order of drunken noodles with beef and with tax's I paid over $21. My assessment was the order was lite for the pricing and the meat to noodle ratio was definitely off for my liking. The flavors were there,

Came here with a group of seven people for lunch around 12 :15 on a Thursday. We didn't have any reservation but there was enough space and we may have only been the second group there. We were quickly seated and our team who had various diet restrictions was able to order food items to meet their needs. The food was very good. The staff doesn't smile much though They didn't offer custom spice levels, but gave us a couple of condiments to spice up our meals. A nice option for Newark Avenue when you want some Thai food.

Had come here Thursday night for dinner with a few friends. We tried a bunch of vegetarian dishes and one fish and chicken dish. The place is nice and spacious. It has a nice ambience. They are BYOB with some restrictions. Food was hot, fresh and decent quantity. I liked the price point too, not too pricey. Everything was tasty. Service was quick. I particularly liked the veggie noodles. Curry was tasty and had lot of vegetables. The place is definitely worth trying once.

This isn't really a review of One Dee Siam since I've only tried one item, but it is a review of their fantastic red curry. When I'm doing something in the area, I love to pick up an order of red curry to go, and so far it has been consistently perfect. I tell myself that I'll order something else next time, but the red curry is just that good. My photo of it isn't great as I was just focused on snapping it as quickly as possible then chowing down. One day I'll get around to dining in the restaurant and ordering something else!

Very cool decorations. Drinks and appetizers came out quickly. The fried tofu was PERFECTLY crispy. Drunken noodles were also perfect. Seating was cozy and quiet.

Food (4/5): We ordered the soft shell chili crab, Thai salad, and One Dee noodle soup. The Thai salad had a nice combination of fresh vegetables and I liked the addition of the peanut sauce. The Thai salad was average. Had a good amount of veggies but it felt like a regular salad with peanut sauce. The soft shell chili crab was solid but not spicy at all and was too salty. The One Dee noodle soup was excellent! Definitely my favorite dish of the meal. The broth was super flavorful. I also really liked the mango sticky for dessert. The mango was the right amount of ripeness and the sticky rice was sweet and delicious. Service (3/5): Decent service but they didn't check up on us frequently. The servers were helpful when we asked and helped provide recommendations. Ambiance (4/5): Beautifully laid out restaurant with nice lights decorating the ceiling and a wall of flowers. The ambiance was very chill with relaxing music. Also liked how it was well lit. The walkway to the restroom had cool art. My only complaint is that the seating to other guests is way too close especially for the booth tables.

Urgh the two stars is purely for the service. They were busy which I get 1000 percent but half our order didn't come out and when when we very politely asked twice we were rudely told it is coming. Well it wasn't. Finished the curry that did come out (I hate eating curry without noodles) and finally they took it seriously that the pad Thai didn't come out. When we asked to cancel the pad Thai as we're done eating the waitress gave attitude that it's coming. The other waitress that brought the check was very nice and actually managed a simple apology for the missed order. These things happen it just would have been appreciated if a tiny bit of accountability and kindness was shown. Don't think we'll give it another chance there are plenty of mediocre Thai places in the area. Maybe take out. The Panang curry and curry puffs that did come were were fine. The curry puffs were actually pretty good (tho I hate when they give 3 tiny puffs as an app how do you share that). And curry was tasty just a little watery. Overall the vibe is cute and the decor is nice. They were also pretty busy on a Friday night for both dine in and take out which is usually a good sign. I'm probably just a little bitter with the way the situation was handled.

There were a large variety of choices for the buffet, and I tried a little bit of everything. It was all cooked well and wonderfully flavorful with tons of warm seasonings. Stand outs included butter chicken, noodles, curry, and tandoori. I would have liked more seafood options and meat other than chicken though. The Naan was served warm and slightly crisp, while still being soft. I decided to also order a drink called Shahi Falooda. Since I never tried it, I didn't know how it was supposed to look, even though I thought the presentation was a bit weird, as there were pieces of toast dredged in the liquid. When I tried it, there seemed to be all the flavors described, including rose almond milk, tutti frutti, and vanilla ice cream. It tasted creamy, sweet, and unique, with the ingredients mingling well together. Service was definitely lacking. When the bill came, it was listed as a dessert, so I inquired about it. The waiter responded that they did not have the beverage available, so served me something else instead. This really irked me that the waiter would knowingly do this without mentioning up front that they were out of the beverage, allowing me the free choice to either order another drink or not get one at all. The waiter then told us it would be taken off the bill, but a different waiter came out to inform us that the manager would not allow that. While the food was actually pretty good, this was a very upsetting experience and I will not be returning. At least this taught me to always speak up when I have a doubt or question about anything I order.

A Decade of Love on a Plate: A Local Favorite That Punches Above Its Weight…read more This place is the definition of a neighborhood gem--the kind you almost want to keep secret, yet can't stop yourself from praising. Cheap and cheerful on the surface, it punches way above its weight class, delivering inventive, clean, Asian-inspired food that's masterfully cooked by clearly skilled hands--and made with real love. I've been coming back year after year for most of this restaurant's 10-year lifespan, and that consistency is no accident. Every dish tastes intentional, thoughtful, and deeply satisfying, with a clear goal: to feed people love on a plate. It's a super veggie/vegan friendly that easily wins over even my "meat and potatoes" husband--who happily cleans his plate every time. I've seen this restaurant circling my YELP for the last few months and put it on my "want to try"…read morelist. This place is absolutely solid! If you're looking for good flavorful food options, this has got to be on your "must try" list, I genuinely do not think you'll be disappointed. I ordered the blueberry lemon iced tea, maitake mushroom medley with the option of udon noodles & added chicken, the coconut curry with the option of ramen noodles and the rice pudding with caramel sauce for dessert. First things first, my absolute FAVORITE thing about this restaurant is the food contains no GMO's no preservatives, pink Himalayan salt to season and NO REFINED sugars- only agave and palm sugar to sweeten. I WISH I would've known about this spot sooner JUST for that detail alone. I am always on the hunt for a place that offers refined sugar free options, and with that comes this level of safety knowing what I am consuming has a heath standard/holistic approach to meet and me not having to feel guilty or worrisome after a meal. Absolute 10/10 in that aspect. I saw a few reviews mention the blueberry lemon iced tea, as someone not even a fan of lemonade I decided to give it a try. Let's just say, I was slow sipping my drinks to not finish it all and avoid getting another in the same sitting lol. It's well balanced, not sour, blueberry flavor is present and knowing it's sweetened with agave led to guilt free pleasure. Would recommend everyone to try it, even if you're not a fan of lemonade like I am. Another mention, lemonade tends to make my throat dry, due to its sourness and tanginess and that didn't happen at all. Think the blueberry was more prominent than the lemon, it was really enjoyable. The curry ramen was a highlight! If your a fan of curry, I think you def have got to try this. I actually didn't get it (my partner did) because I didn't wanna be let down, but it was absolutely delicious. I got the maitake medley udon noddles with added chicken and what a blast of flavor. It had veggies, mushrooms, chicken, udon, eggs, kimchi and was extremely flavorful. I was very surprised that each element of the dish had its own flavor and spice that really jumped out, but paired well together. The least favorite thing for me on this platter was the eggs. Just your standard egg, I'm a fan of soy-marinated eggs on my noodles and not a fan of regular boiled eggs, but they are always an added protein plus! One honorary note, is the kimchi. I like kimchi, don't love it, but this was the best kimchi I have ever had. I even ordered a side to go. Another cool thing is the food is cooked fresh, right in front of you. Tbh, we were the only ones in there at 6 PM and food took quite a while, but I appreciate and prefer freshness over quickness always. The rice pudding is light and the homemade refunded sugar-free caramel addition makes it so much better. As there were only two options of dessert on the menu (rice pudding & matcha ice cream) I decided to give it a go although I'm not really a fan of rice pudding. Was it amazing? No. Would I get it again? Possibly. This place was on the pricier side I would say. My bowl of maitake mushroom w/chicken (added chicken being a $6.50 dollar up charge) was $34. Worth it for that price point? Not really, but good none the less. I also ordered a small side of kimchi (the small clear containers) and that was $7 which I think is crazy, but also it was good. For a better price point, I might've asked for a jar lol. Customer service- the workers were nice, but not really personable, which I don't really care for much, but bringing this up because there was this sense that maybe I shouldn't be in there or they just possibly didn't want to work. I tipped nonetheless, but for being the only couple or people in there I thought we would be greeted by everyone, just a simple acknowledgement, but it felt more like we were bothering them by walking in. I understand that people have their days and you have no clue what someone is going through personally, but it was distinct enough to mention- especially as someone who never really comments on the customer service aspect. I see through it cuz the food was great! Something about it was also just a let down, but I can't put my finger on it. Although it was good, I don't see myself frequenting this place. Maybe the price point is deterring me, but I do think it's worth a try!
