Also their signature salad dish which was awesome - chopped peanuts + lime mixed in very nice spices w just a bit of heat served in lettuce leaves. Really good! Came here Friday evening for dinner with a group of 8. For the majority of the group, it was their first time trying Thai food. Without a reservation, we were seated in 5 minutes - still a busy night but we were serviced with kindness. I believe our server was the owner or manager in charge. And she did an excellent job servicing us. I chose to order the Tom Yum Noodle Soup and it was tasty but not my fave Thai dish. The broth was a bit on the sweet side but without the creaminess. I went to One Dee Siam for a work dinner. We came at 4 for dinner and had the place to ourselves. The restaurant is very nicr. I love the decor. The light fixtures and chairs are so nice. The wait staff is very hospitable without being over bearing. The Thai food here is some of the best I've tasted! When this restaurant was under new management it was called Swadee which was delicious so One Dee Siam is just as delicious! Restaurant is BYOB which is a bonus! Theres nothing like bringing ur own bottle of wine to have a meal and definitely cheaper option. I will def be back for lunch. The dining room was modern and upscale, which helped make it more enticing and competitive in an otherwise saturated location. We stopped in the other night and found the atmosphere and friendly service to be very soothing, though the air conditioning had been turned up way too high. We were quickly seated and our team who had various diet restrictions was able to order food items to meet their needs. The food was very good. This isn't really a review of One Dee Siam since I've only tried one item, but it is a review of their fantastic red curry. When I'm doing something in the area, I love to pick up an order of red curry to go, and so far it has been consistently perfect. I tell myself that I'll order something else next time, but the red curry is just that good. My photo of it isn't great as I was just focused on snapping it as quickly as possible then chowing down. The Thai salad was average. Had a good amount of veggies but it felt like a regular salad with peanut sauce. The soft shell chili crab was solid but not spicy at all and was too salty. The One Dee noodle soup was excellent! Definitely my favorite dish of the meal. The broth was super flavorful. I also really liked the mango sticky for dessert. The mango was the right amount of ripeness and the sticky rice was sweet and delicious. Service (3/5): Decent service but they didn't check up on us frequently. Urgh the two stars is purely for the service. They were busy which I get 1000 percent but half our order didn't come out and when when we very politely asked twice we were rudely told it is coming. Well it wasn't. Finished the curry that did come out (I hate eating curry without noodles) and finally they took it seriously that the pad Thai didn't come out. When we asked to cancel the pad Thai as we're done eating the waitress gave attitude that it's coming. The other waitress that brought the check was very nice and actually managed a simple apology for the missed order. These things happen it just would have been appreciated if a tiny bit of accountability and kindness was shown. Don't think we'll give it another chance there are plenty of mediocre Thai places in the area. Maybe take out. The Panang curry and curry puffs that did come were were fine. Service is okay, there were lots of people working and we had numerous people stop by our table when we ate here - it worked but it would have been nicer to have one dedicated wait person. Food was disappointing. We had a light dinner sharing some dishes. Spring rolls tasted like they were frozen and tasted stale. Curry puffs were okay but also tasted mass produced. Squid came in a generous portion, it was okay but not great. One Dee Siam is my go-to Grubhub spot when I'm craving Thai food! They are vegetarian friendly and are able to make substitutions (especially if you go in-person and order). I usually go between the pad Thai (tofu) or panang curry (perfect balance of sweet with the pineapple and salty/spicy). The delivery always come hot and the taste is always consistent. It is a little pricier but they give you a pretty large portion and you can definitely have leftovers depending on your hunger levels when you first order. If you go in-person, note that they are BYOB so plan accordingly! I believe it's 1 bottle of wine per two people and 1 6 pack per two people. Cute decorations and convenient location. read more

The place looks very cool with Thai decorations , but I believe the owner played too much Restaurant City in Facebook back in the day because they maximized the capacity of patrons. I ordered the Thai salad to be healthy, but there was nothing really special about it. Maybe next time, I'll look for a place with papaya salad. The soft shell chili crab was not great. The sauce was too salty and not spicy like the Malaysian style. To be honest, if you want crab at a Thai place, Cha Long has an amazing crab curry. The One Dee noodle soup was the only thing I loved about the menu. It reminded me of a curry laksa. Lots of noodles, and the broth was a good mix of coconut milk goodness and curry. I've been here on multiple occasions and can confidently say it's the best Thai food in Jersey City. Also on par with Thai food in Manhattan. The flavor is authentic to what I grew up eating in the US Thai community and in Thailand , and the servers are also mostly Thai. Recently I got their yellow curry with crab meat and I was so satisfied with the quality of the crab meat and also the portion sizes ! Their soft shell crab is a great appetizer, and so is their chicken sate. The dipping sauce was delicious and I wish I had even more chicken to eat it with. Amazing authentic Thai restaurant not far from Grove Street PATH station. Came here for lunch with coworkers. One of them is originally from Bangkok and was speaking Thai with the staff. We shared papaya salad, tod mun pla, rad na and one of the noodle dish lunch specials. You can specify the level of spice you prefer for your food.
