    Honshu Roll and Salmon Roll
    Sarah X.

This has become one of my favorite sushi spots in Jersey City! I've been here about three times for dinner, and each time I come, the staff are friendly, and there is no wait for a table. The vibes are also nice; there are candles on the tables and the lighting is dim. Finally, the sushi is great; there's a lot of options to choose from, and the rolls always taste fresh. I've had the Montgomery Roll and Honshu Roll, and they're both delicious.

I will definitely be coming back here for the affordable lunch deals! Service was very good and I loved every sushi I got!

I've been here several times for lunch and really enjoyed it each time. The restaurant has lots of nice, unique wood fixtures and an upscale ambiance, but the foot isn't terribly expensive. Service is prompt and the sushi is fresh and quite tasty. I've had the lunch special set a couple of times because of the variety of things that come with it. Miso soup, salad, dumplings edamame, sushi, a roll and fruit for dessert. It makes a very nice meal!

A lovely comfy dinner spot next to the riverfront/Exchange. We went for Saturday dinner, it wasn't too busy. They had both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant has nice decor and ambience. The menu is decent, not overwhelming, bunch of appetizers, sushi rolls and few other entrees. Among appetizers, grilled calamari was good, jumbo scallops, miso soup and eggplant were excellent. The Tokyo roll was amazing, but Godzilla and Montgomery rolls were okay for me. My friend loves their tuna tar tar. The katsu don were nice fulfilling dish as well. Service is good. Food in prepared in a decent time. Sushi rolls are colorful and presented nicely. But for the price, it is not as extravagant as upscale Japanese restaurant.

Good Japanese food in Jersey city exchange place. Chicken katsu don is good but the egg is not runny enough. Grilled calamari is good. Scallops has little flavor. Service is great. Very attentive staff. Nice ambiance inside.

Found a bug in my takeout chirashi. Been a customer since I moved to Jersey City but will never order again after this. Finding a bug in food from a restaurant that mainly serves uncooked seafood is a huge food safety concern.

This was a great restaurant! Everything ordered on the menu was delicious. Fish was tender and seasoned just right. Fried octopus balls were crunchy. Sushi was fresh. Scallops were tender and sauce was delicious. Service was great and ambiance was nice. Although I visited here in the winter, the outdoor seating was still quite warm. This is a must try and the price was reasonable.

Food (2/5): Wow perhaps one of the worst sushi places I've had in a while. The rice is mushy and the ingredients did not taste fresh. The shrimp tempura roll had a funky flavor like something was rotten. We got the scallop roll, tuna avocado, salmon, and shrimp tempura. All were not good. Service (3/5): Ok service. They took our order fast and the sushi came out in approximately 10 minutes. They could've been more friendly. Ambiance (4/5): Only good part about this restaurant is the interior looks nice. There are nice decorations, spacious seating and a nice bar area.

I've gotten taken out I've gotten omakase I've gotten the lunch special I've been to the old location where we had to go up the stairs I've been to the new location that also has outdoor seating I've been to the new Nigiri Always a solid choice in Jersey City

This spot has great lunch specials especially since it's near my work and I only go during lunch so that works out I usually aim for sashimi which is what I got today & I loved it all. also starts with a miso soup which is tasty. During weekdays they really get you in and out for those that have to go back to work. Love this spot!

Came here for a quick casual bite on a weeknight and was pleasantly surprised! Have walked past it a million times but never gave it a shot and the food was delicious. Super fresh fish! Will absolutely be coming back.

Jersey Roll and Spring Bag Roll
    Jason P.

Decent sushi spot with reasonable prices. I would recommend the goyza and beef Negimaki. We also got the grilled calamari but I would probably pass on that. We had a bunch of sushi and it was all decently fresh. The spring bag roll was a little unique and would get that again. Service was a bit slower than expected (was there almost two hours) but could be a good thing depending on your plans after. All the times I've went we sat on the outside area but it's enclosed so it gives an indoor feel.

    Hotate scallop temaki
    Amy H.

Quality/taste: I got the 5 set Temaki and shared the Honshu roll with my friends. Every piece tasted fresh and just melted into my mouth. The set included 1pc yellowtail, 1pc salmon, 1pc tuna, 1pc scallop, 1pc toro tuna belly. It was so good!!! Would definitely get it again. My favorite was the scallop, tuna, toro hand rolls. But honestly they were all really good. Great flavor and they DID NOT skimp on the fish portions!! Service: Good service! Server was really nice and prompt with refilling our waters and bringing out the next piece immediately. Environment: The seating was a little weird at first... The host said we could only get nigiri one of the sections but not the other..?? And the omakase was only in the outer seating area. It was a bit confusing to determine which area to sit at and she didn't really help even though we told her what we were there for. Price: $$ Reasonably priced. It wasn't overpriced like most sushi places around here. Definitely recommend and would come back for sure! I wish I lived closer to go more often!!!

The pacing of the meal for the quantity of food received seemed very rushed, and we didn't really have a chance to relax and enjoy any of the courses. However, the quality of the experience was a complete disaster particularly for the price. Clearly, the packed restaurant would disagree, but for the four of us anyway, we would not return. It started with the check in process at what felt like a long hotel front desk with multiple, self important hosts and hostesses overseeing your entrance to the cavernous bar/waiting area. One problem is the noise is so deafening that you can't really hear what they say to you but we check in a few minutes early and waited obediently in the bar area chatting. After about 30 minutes (15 after our reservation time), and watching numerous parties large and small who arrived after us be seated by the hostesses wandering through the dimly lit space who peer quizzically and ask your name, my husband went to ask for an update. (We joked that those vibrating lighted buzzers alerting when your table was ready would have been super helpful, but it was amusing to watch while we waited). It was clear they somehow lost track of us as she had him repeatedly spell our (not unusual) name. Anyway, after that, within 10 minutes after that we were taken downstairs to our seats (but not before standing awkwardly in the large dining area near packed tables waiting while our table was cleaned). Server with a heavy accent was kind and mostly helpful so none of this is on him. The busser who managed to spill half a pitcher of cold water on my husband's back, soaking his shirt and jacket and barely apologizing, is a whole other story. We managed to get a glass of his mediocre Cabernet comped for the experience. If I sound annoyed, I guess I still am. I had high hopes for a fun and tasty experience in a cool part of the city and it just wasn't.

It came with a lot of mushrooms and different varieties as well which I rlly liked! The thin noodles were also cooked nicely. Lobster ramyun was also rlly delicious during the first few bites, but got progressively got saltier and heavier. The sauce is almost like a bisque, but with a slight kick which I quite enjoyed. We ordered the beef rendang, chicken satay and singapore noodles (with tofu and vegetables). I had been hoping to try the soft shelled crab but perhaps it's out of season or no longer on the menu as I didn't see it. The chicken satay came out first, it was 4 sticks of skewered chicken drenched in a slightly spicy creamy peanut sauce. This was the second favorite dish of the table as the chicken was tender and the peanut sauce paired well with it. The singapore noodles were unexpected the favorite of the table. The flavor profiles weren't too crazy just a simple curry flavor but mixed with the thin noodles and other ingredients, it was savory and not too heavy to eat a lot of. The beef rendang was the last dish to come out, the beef pieces were very tender and this was the spiciest dish out of all 3 that we had ordered. It came with about a bowl's worth of white rice on the side and some cucumbers and purple cabbage salad. It was a pretty okay lunch.
