If you prefer the traditional route, you can still order at the register, but the main difference is they no longer make the sandwich right in front of you. The space itself is impressive--very clean, open, and modern. There's plenty of seating, including both tables and bar-style counter seating. What really stood out was the fireplace and TV setup in the middle, which gives the place a cozy, lounge-like feel. Definitely not the Subway experience I was expecting. As for the sandwich itself--it was pretty mediocre. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. The quality was just average and didn't really stand out.

There is also mixed veggie option. I love that they offer brown rice too which seems to be very unusual in Virginia Beach. Each meal comes in three sizes and the small was more than enough for my wife. I got the medium size and had some to take home - and it reheated very well. The side teriyaki sauce is thicker and richer tasting if that's your thing. The staff was very friendly . We've been back twice in the last week. Nice to find healthy fast food for a change!

We found that the Mix & Match Manager's Special option was perfect. Two of us enjoyed the half Caprese Panini sandwich with chips and fresh fruit. The fruit comes with a dipping sauce, but it didn't need it since the fruit was very sweet. My daughter enjoyed her Mix & Match with the half Chicken Caprese Panini sandwich with chips and a cup of chicken noodle soup. We're definitely keeping Jason's Deli on our list of great places to eat!

The way this was handled was honestly the worst part. When we questioned why we couldn't eat inside when the restaurant was still open, Hannah was incredibly rude and argumentative. Instead of simply explaining the situation or apologizing for the inconvenience, she argued with us and made the entire interaction unnecessarily unpleasant. I completely understand that restaurants have closing procedures and employees need to get off work. What I don't understand is treating paying customers like they're an inconvenience because they happened to come in before the posted closing time. If the dining room is going to close early, that should be clearly communicated to customers--not sprung on them and followed by an attitude when they ask about it. We left feeling genuinely unwelcome. There are plenty of places to spend our money, and after this experience, CAVA won't be one of them. Management should seriously address how this was handled and the way customers are spoken to.

So we decided to exit the parking garage for street level parking, which was available when the shops and most restaurants had closed. After doing a quick search on Yelp for restaurants still open, we chose California Pizza Kitchen. It was the same familiar CPK layout. Service was good. We were immediately seated and provided menus and the option to order beverages. My choice of Peach Iced Tea was not a normal thing for me except at CPK. They have the most wonderful Peach Iced Tea on the planet. When served I learned that still was the case. They also offer free refills and even a "to go" cup of,it after dining. There is a full bar which offers basic and their signature cocktails. The menu had changed slightly since I had frequently visited on a regular basis. One of the salads had always been my choice, actually a half salad. The whole salads are more than any one human being could eat. I scanned the salad titles, recognizing only one. I should have read the entire description since my friend proclaimed hers very good. My choices were narrowed to a pizza with lots of Avocado and a pasta dish. I ordered the Chicken Tequila Fettuccine, which was presented well. It was good but not great. The Spinach Fettuccini overwhelmed the amount of chicken and other ingredients. My Rewards App was still active after all these years and I received a limited promotion offer. Checkout was on a handheld device the server brought to the table, which was a great improvement since I last was there. Returning to CPK will be sooner rather than later. It's a nice option for when other Town Center Restaurants have closed.

This location at Virginia Beach Town Center is always clean. The decor is nice, especially the framed, painted pizza boxes that accent the walls. While our server was friendly, my salmon order came out as the wrong dish. So, I had to wait for my salmon dish on the new limited time menu to be corrected. It was good, but unfortunately I had to eat it after my family had already finished their pasta dishes. Although the hiccup in my order won't stop us from returning, it might be a factor on when we decide to some back.
