I was visiting relatives in Virginia Beach for a relatives birthday and stopped by about an hour before close for a quick dinner. I use to love Panera Bread although now it's just ok. Don't get me wrong, everyone was very nice, helpful, the food was good for what it is. I think the issue is that I used to going to a regular restaurant where food is fresh, sometimes farm to table, and prepared individually. It's hard to compare Panera to those types of restaurants. What I would recommend that they change some of their fixtures, the chairs and the garbage station looked very worn. We had the grilled signature chicken sandwich, the Mexican corn soup, a favorite which is the Asian sesame chicken salad. It was quick and worked for me. Prices are fair and I have nothing bad to say. There was an older woman who took great pride in her job which was cleaning. I wanted to give her props and hope their manager read this. Dined in with my daughter this past Saturday evening. One Cobb salad, 1/2 turkey sandwich, fruit cup and milk - $30 later my little one and I were still hungry. I cannot even comprehend that half of a turkey sandwich was over $8. Even with inflation, I can get a half pound of deli turkey at the grocery store for $5. My salad was missing avocado. The sandwich didn't even include cheese. Half of the grapes in the fruit cup were mush. I like tablets or kiosks for ordering food. The lack of needing to explain things to people makes my life so much easier! And that's what I did here today at Panera. Push the right buttons for my Chicken Caesar Salad with extra chicken, pay, take a pager, find a seat, wait. Super simple, super easy! My salad arrived within five minutes, exactly as requested. (I forgot to have them hold the croutons.) Delicious, filling and completely within the lines of my keto diet. Awesome! The restaurant does get super busy during lunch time but I did find a good seat. Tables were clean, trash cans were not full and the condiments/drink area was tidy. I'm a fan! Not many patrons on Fri night despite a jam packed parking lot oriented like a moat. Place has changed significantly since my last visit including a rebranded facelift and process flow improvements like Order kiosks, digital signage, and to go racks. New logos escorted in refreshed white analog menus signs and wall decor. Son opted to utilize the employee behind the counter to order his Mac n cheese kids meal. She was patient, kind and efficient. Redeemed a school issued certificate making the visit's grand total $0. Food wait was minimal, practically ready after he filled his cup with a fountain drink. Drink station was a bit messy but forgivable. Order was made correctly with perfectly announced pronunciation of his (our) name, a rarity indeed. My wife and I didn't order anything. To us, Panera was once a very good soup/sand/salad shop at value prices in a WiFi rich chain "restaurant" environment; over the years, prices increased while portions and quality decreased. It's 3-3.5 star quality that's quick and convenient; a notch above Wawa for sure. All in all, our son enjoyed his hot, creamy Mac and French baguette. We delighted in seeing his smile. read more

Hot but gloomy day out so I ordered my favorite, broccoli soup...silly because it's ninety degrees outside but inside the office it's maybe sixty-five. Anyway, back to the soup... I got caught up at the office so I'm running late to get lunch and therefore I'm slightly (okay, maybe more than slightly) hangry. I had already gotten the text that my food was ready, so I fully anticipated a quick curbside pickup. Not really the case. I waited about ten minutes before someone came out to drop off my food. This is not my "home" Panera as it's a bit further, but this is the one a bunch of friends and I meet once a month. We prefer their layout as it's open but with nooks to separate your group from the others. When we come here, we usually order on our phone and pick up at the window. It's always so fast to order, and it takes 10 minutes for your food to be ready for pickup. One thing we noticed, was that if you order on your phone and want to order certain items, it will tell you they are "out" of it but in fact they were not. We saw it in plain view. I ordered the 4 cheese flatbread pizza and it was delicious. Their bloody orange lemonade was also very tasty! The manager giving out food at the window was super helpful as well. While I have not dined here, recently I have used this location as a meet up with different vendors. Within the past month, I have had two meetings at this location. The space in the restaurant is perfect for dining or just wanting to chat with someone and even better for a table of one. My family enjoys the soup and bread options here. And looking around at others, the salad(s) seem to be a popular item as well. While I cannot speak on the food here, I know Panera Bread is pretty solid when it comes to bagels and cookies. This location is located in the busy Greenbrier area of the city. Parking is decent as its surrounded by other shops and eateries, so there's parking shared by many businesses. Had a late lunch with the kids at the Greenbrier Panera in Crossways Shopping Center. It was clean, and the associates were very friendly. It was around 3p and they were already out of certain bread options, so went with a different option, which was good as far as flavor and freshness. We ordered 2 bread bowls of the cheddar and broccoli soup. A flatbread pepperoni pizza and a pick 2 tuna sandwich and another bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. We had 3 regular sized drinks, which scored us half off on bakery treats, so we added a chocolate chip cookie and 2 brownies. The food was great in flavors, but I didn't feel there was much difference between a bowl of soup vs the cup of soup as far as portions. The flatbread pizza was a hit with the kids. The desserts were fresh and yummy. The restaurant was clean and had a decent amount of patrons within it. I was a little shell shocked by the cost 56 was steep for what we had and the small portions to boot. All in all we enjoyed our lunch, but for soup and a sandwich, with half price cookies/brownies costs, I don't think we will be returning any time soon. Customer service was very poor. Completely inconsiderate and rude. An employee stood behind the cash register at the front and was having a meaningless conversation despite other customers needing assistance. He purposely ignored me. he continuously glanced at me as I waited but yet repeatedly turned back to his conversation. I stood there for at least five minutes, waiting for him to acknowledge and service me which he never did.. the woman that he was talking to had to end the conversation and walk away in order for him to help the rest of the people in line. First of all, the delivery was late and was missing an item, the Mac and cheese. Just update of my last experience. This location is much better than the other location. This place was clean and much more organized when it came to the tables and seating. The kiosks weren't in the way like more Paneras. The service was great. Multiple people had greeted me with smiles on their faces and took my order in a timely matter. They handed me my number to my table. The quickly brought my food to the table. I had ordered my usual asiago bagel with a small coffee. I went to the coffee bar and saw that all the coffee was freshly brewed. They write the time it was brewed that way you know if it is fresh. I love their hazelnut coffee. My bagel was toasted just right and their regular cream cheese is amazing. Anyways, I had a great experience here, and will continue to go to this location. I love Panera it's one of my favorite sandwich and salad restaurant to go to. The sandwiches are very good, fresh bake, fresh ingredients and great desserts. Salad dressing is always good too! They are always accommodating to how you want your sandwiches made. I love some of their special limited sandwiches. The staff is always friendly, place is clean, and cozy to chill and eat your food. Pricing is little expensive for the food portions, they should have more sales but it's always busy so I guess they don't need to. If you sign up for their reward card they will download some deals on that but you have to go quite a bit to see it. read more

Food is always good, Janet has taken my order a few times now. She has a bad attitude every time, I don't look forward to seeing her but everyone else is very nice and helpful. When I got there today Janet was taking another order so I waited behind them. I went to this Panera twice in one week. I ordered lunch while at work from their mobile app and also ate in at the restaurant while my husband I were out running some errands. My order was made exactly as requested and even with the delivery order my soup arrived hot. I always order the pick 2 and am very rarely disappointed. I like to switch up my soups but I always order the same salad. For my delivery order I had chicken noodle soup and it was perfect. In the restaurant I ordered the turkey chili and it just needed a little salt but other than that I really enjoyed it. I always do the chicken ceaser salad and it's always perfect. I love the chicken they use. Whenever I leave Panera I'm satisfied but not overly stuffed and they have great service. In the restaurant we sat down, ordered from the app and had our food at the table in less than 10 mins. I wish this location had a drive through but I'll live lol. I came here to meet up with a friend for breakfast. Panera is always reliable for their simple menus, fresh ingredients and overall healthy choices. What made this visit extra nice was the manager behind the cashier. He was warm and genuine and just a pleasure in our early morning hour. He brought over our food with a smile and warmth that I am not accustomed to at a relatively fast food place such as panera. If all of his employees are as wonderful and as hospitable as he, I will be coming here more regularly! My favorite breakfast feature that is healthier than their (delicious) bagels is their oatmeal! I've always been a big fan of Panera but my experience today really turned me off. As I was eating my turkey bravo, a slimy piece of lettuce came out with my bite and as I pulled it from my mouth the sight disgusted me. So then I found another piece just like it on my sandwich. Did pickup service and the pickup was fast and the food was delicious. However, no one spoke to me, nor say anything polite like a "Hello" or a smile. There were employees around but said nothing. Self-service is great and convenient but it doesn't replace the social interaction that makes a place feel welcoming or appreciate the fact that I pay to come for a service. The sandwich line obviously does not care about what they put out, especially within the hour before they close. They rushed out my BLT with two flimsy strips of bacon, didn't even cover half the sandwich, and ungodly large gobs of avocado that were BROWN. Didn't even put mayonnaise on it. I was the only order they had so I don't know why they couldn't take an additional 30 seconds to make the shit RIGHT! Placed a delivery order today on the Panera app. Food was delivered on time but one of my pick two items was missing. Keep in mind, on the receipt taped to the bag, it had check marks against each item and someone signed off stating they "checked l the order. I called the restaurant and the first person who answered stated that I would need to come in and get the missing item or get credit. I paid for delivery because I was working and did not have time to pick up. Even though it was the stores fault, they want ME to come in. I asked to speak to a manager who said they could remake my sandwich and have it delivered but couldn't guarantee a time. It is now two hours later and I have still not received the missing item. Panera is by far one of my most favorite fast food option. I hardly ever eat inside but I did today. As, I walked in I saw people ordering from kiosk provide at front. I just choose to order off my phone since I can never remember my log ins or passwords! So, I ordered rapid pick up. May have waited 10 mins for my food. When I got it the food was good! My chicken noodle soup was very hot and my cup was packed with chicken, noodles, and vegetables! My Baja mac n cheese was ok. Not hot more or so warm.. and they put bell peppers which I had never had in my Baja mac n cheese at other locations. I'm not sure if it was meant or an accident but I'd rather it without it.. raw green bell peppers have a very strong taste that I don't particularly like. Other than that everything else was great!
