I forgot just how amazing their menu is, not to mention the quality and freshness of their food! I tried their chicken pot pie soup and a curry chicken salad sandwich on their amazing, soft multigrain bread. But were OUTSTANDING!!! They have a large of selection to choose from when it comes to salads and sandwiches, as well as some regular soups and a daily special too. Many chips and other takeaway items in the store as well. I wish we had one of these in the Fredericksburg area, I'd be there all the time!

The menu has a variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps and salads that everyone will find something they will enjoy. I grabbed the Bayville Farms roast beef with Havarti cheese with a house dressing. This was on a nice French bread and was a very solid sandwhich. It had a nice slice of the Havarti and was really good. My wife had the Lynnhaven roasted chicken breast, Pimento Cheese, bacon, spinach, tomato and basil spread on ciabatta bread. Again this was a pile of meat and vegetables on a good piece of bread. Both of these came with a bag of Route 18 potato chips that are locally made. The service was real quick and delivered to our outside table within minutes of finishing grabbing our sodas. While they also offered inside seating, we sat outside because it was warm and comfortable in the sun. Both are good options for the spirit of the moment. Once we left we drove by other Taste restaurant we then realize this was a chain that I would not have an issue visiting another one. This was a quick and very enjoyable lunch

The place inside is very cute and reminds me of a nice punk pop bar. The bar wraps around and there's some tables and a side table that we sat at to eat. I ordered one of their specialty coffees and it is quite the journey but I enjoyed it with the ginger beer and the coffee. My quiche was fluffy and delicious. It jiggled when I tapped it and the side salad tasted great with dill in it and it brightened up things. The combination of both was great. The crust on the quiche was nice as well. My spouse enjoyed their sandwich but didn't realize there was mustard so he ended up just using the chips to eat his egg and sausage. His egg was also fluffy. The patrons that came seemed friendly and you can tell who are locals since they greeted by name often. I love that this place is open. They also have local wine you can purchase. Next time we're back in town, we will visit again.

Food was mid for me unfortunately. I had the midnight cowboy and wouldn't order it again. It's a turkey sandwich topped with pulled chicken, but the chicken was inedible and got taken off. Seemed like they took it from the fridge and mega nuked the chicken. It ended up being a crunchy topping on a basic turkey sandwich.

This place is definitely a "come for the food, not the experience" type of spot…read more First things first, it's in the hood and the vibe matches that. If you're shy or timid, this may not be the easiest place to order. If you try to order at the counter when they're even slightly busy (which is basically always), you'll need to speak up or you might get overlooked for a bit. I recommend using the little ordering kiosk to the left instead. It's much easier. The staff can come off short or a little rude, but I've also seen customers be pretty pushy, so it seems like they're mostly just focused on getting orders out without all the pleasantries and keeping things moving. I ordered the half chicken with rice and beans and mixed vegetables. The food is undeniable. The chicken is juicy with that perfect charcoal flavor, and the yellow sauce is ridiculously good. That said, the place itself could use some attention. The dining area was pretty dirty with crumbs and trash on the floor, and the tables didn't seem to get wiped down between customers (or ever?). It may just be because they're constantly busy, but it's noticeable. Also be prepared to wait. There are a lot of to-go and DoorDash orders, so even if it looks like only one person is ahead of you, there might actually be a dozen orders in the queue. I ended up waiting about 25 minutes before I asked about my order, and it seemed like it may have been forgotten or given to someone else. After that, it took another 10 minutes before I finally got my bag. Long story short: come here when you have time and aren't feeling sensitive. The food is excellent, but nothing else about the experience is particularly impressive. And honestly... I'm still going back . The chicken and that yellow sauce are just that good. Next time I'll probably try to order ahead though. Just know you can't order directly from their website, so you'll either need to call ahead or pay the higher prices on the delivery apps.

They used to have a good evening crowd for early dinners but only 1 or 2 tables were filled during our last visits. After our recent visit I feel like they must be struggling with kitchen help. The servers are always friendly and efficient. But the food (mainly the dinner dishes) is hugely disappointing. The main dishes are no longer delicious, just ok, and the vegetable of the day (whatever it is) has ranged from okay to looking like leftovers from a previous diner's plate. It has not been tasty or appetizing. The burgers are good, desserts are awesome and the salads are fresh but that's not enough to keep me coming back. The owners are good people and I'm sure they must not see this. I hope they will be able to get back to the good food they were known for, I'm hoping they will recognize this decline and address it. In the meanwhile, until I see better reviews again, I regret that I'll have to take my business elsewhere.
