I try my best to see the bright side at restaurants, but I'm truly upset and taken aback. I ordered for pickup about 2 days ago. I got the katsu and my boyfriend got ramen. Mine immediately did not taste fresh and within 2 bites I threw all of mine out. My boyfriend ate all of us. For the last 2 days he has been sick. He went to urgent care today, and was just updated that he has a bacterial infection in his gut. I'm really upset and so disgusted because normally I give places more than one chance, but this is insane. That was the only place he ate from that day, and hasn't been able to eat since. We drove 3 hours to get to Virginia Beach and were looking for some dinner. initially we were going to go eat at a viet/chinese restaurant but they were closed. Then we tried to eat another Chinese restaurant but they only did carry out. So after looking online we found this ramen shop and decided to come here. Parking lot is big so no issue finding a parking space. Upon entering we were seated quickly and look at the menu. For appetizer, we ordered the shumai steamed & the chashu bao. The shumai came with about 6 pieces and they came out so soft and flavorful. You have a tangy sauce to dip which elevated the flavor. The chashu bao was so delicious and nostalgic that the first bite in it reminded me of something from my childhood. For the entree, I order the spicy miso with extra noodle and 2 piece of chashu. Also, we had a plate of pork cutlet on the side. The miso broth had the right amount of spice and packed a right amount of punch. The noodle were soft while the thick chashu was meaty and juicy. The pork cutlet was crunchy and season perfectly. All in all, the food here are amazing and would highly recommend anyone to come and try this place. read more

It's a pretty small restaurant and not busy for dinner time which was nice because of fast service Tonkotsu ramen pretty standard. The pork cut they had was just awful and thick cuts. I don't even know which part it is but I've never had that style before and was not a fan. Nice broth though. Corroke was nice and crispy. It's more of a ball. Didn't give a lot of sauce. It must've been my craving for soup or either I was bored. I stopped in during the peak of dinner and they starting to get busy. There were people dining along with folks who were doing take out. I was able to seat myself by the bar. I can tell that they were short staff because everyone was running around and playing multiple jobs. After someone took my order, they came back later to confirm my order. I believe she had forgotten to officially put my order in, which added an extra 30-minutes to my wait. When my ramen finally came out, it was warm but felt like it's been sitting around for a while. The broth was okay the first few sips and then it became bland. After I finished eating, it took another 30-minutes to get my check. I spent more time sitting around than eating. I was a bit thrown off by the service here. We also ordered 22 oz can of Sapporo, and they gave us two cups that were in the fridge for a while, and the waitress was very sweet Ika Geso Karaage: Fried mini squid legs and the sauce that came along with it was very delicious. It was unfortunate though that we had two share 3 sticks with two people. Spicy Miso Ramen: A lot of vegetables included. The broth was very delicious! It was pretty spicy so if you are not a spice fan, I suggest getting the tonkatsu or miso ramen. The egg was cooked perfectly and there were a lot of noodles in the bowl. Kuro Black Tonkotsu Ramen (picture not included): Totally different broth than the spicy miso ramen. It was not spicy but had a good sesame flavor and it went well with the vegetables and pork belly. Service was very polite and prompt although our waitress was not very familiar with the menu as age could not answer most of our questions about the food. The gyoza and onigiri (rice balls) apps were enjoyed. The oshinko (assorted pickles) had a very strong flavor unlike the pickles I am used to. For my entree, I went with their house miso ramen. Typically, I go for udon or soba over ramen, but ramen is their thing, so I thought I'd give it a go. There were pros and cons. The broth was okay, not fantastic. I'm always looking for that umami flavor, and it wasn't quite there. The noodles, vegetables and egg were perfectly cooked. The pork, eh. Overdone for me -- almost like it was pre-cooked and added to the broth instead of let to cook in the broth, which is my preference for juicy meats in broth.
