    Katsu curry

One of the best ramen places in the area. I have been here time and time again, and I am never disappointed. I love a classic miso ramen, and this one definitely serves the craving. The appetizers here are fire. We love getting Karaage, fried squid, and kimchi fries. All so delicious. The gyu don always has a lot of meat. The katsudon is good. The katsu curry was yummy with a darker curry base. It is a little on the runnier side, I wish it was thicker. It's not Golden Curry, better than that, so I give a thumbs up. I love that you can get boba with it too! Make sure to take a picture with the Polaroid and place your picture on the wall! It's a super cute small place, very unique and special. It gets busy, so a reservation is best, especially if you have a larger group. Service was good! Food comes out fairly fast. Overall, make sure to check this place out!!

    Grilled Chicken Ramen and Shumai

This was my first visit and I'll return. I had the grilled chicken ramen and an order of shumai. Both were tasty and perfect for a snowy/sleety day. My order was to-go, so the broth was placed in a separate cup. The nori was a little dry and visibly darker than usual. Others have posted interior pictures - nothing fancy. The service was nice and I didn't have a long wait time for my order.

Hi friends! Long overdue review for me; I've eaten here at least 5 times over the years and so i owe them their flowers. What's good: plenty of parking as it's in a strip mall, a wide variety of options on the menu so if you like choices you have plenty! The dine IN experience is good the food is amazing and portion size is appropriate. It's a small space inside, but if you've spent time in Japan it's accurate and makes the experience more authentic. I even like the homey decor highlighting the patrons with Polaroids of people enjoying their dinner all over the foyer area. I even like the bathroom decor of superheroes in ways you wouldn't typically see them (iykyk). What prompted this review is the take out experience. I felt like the take out portion wasn't the same quantity as the dine in experience by a noticeable degree. So if you plan on eating there- eat in! Everything was still very good as it always has been, which is why i wanted more than i got . Regardless I will def be back and enjoying what they have to offer!

Kappa Nōra Ramen is our go-to spot--and for good reason. We've tried other ramen places around Virginia Beach, but nothing ever compares. The flavors here are on another level. I always go for the spicy broth--it's rich, comforting, and packs the perfect kick. Pair that with their crispy fried chicken (seriously, so good) and it's pure perfection in a bowl. The seaweed salad is super refreshing and balances the meal beautifully, and the gyoza? Absolutely delicious--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. This place consistently hits the mark every single time. Whether it's a rainy day ramen craving or a casual night out, Kappa Nōra never disappoints. A true gem in the VB food scene.

As I was craving ramen on a Wednesday evening, I decided to venture out and try Kappo Nara Ramen since I saw nothing but great reviews about this place. I was seated right away and given a menu...after a few minutes, I knew exactly what I wanted to order lol. Janelle, my amazing server, assisted me in choosing a green tea so I decided on the Mango Green Tea, which was refreshing and thankfully not too sweet. For starters, I decided on the Rice Balls which were filled with cooked salmon, covered with rice, wrapped in seaweed and formed in a triangular shape! The Rice Ball was very filling and since I wanted to enjoy my ramen, I only ate one. I chose the Spicy Miso Ramen which had a miso base with pork broth and chili oil. It included boiled eggs, bean sprouts, bamboo, spicy ground pork, scallions and seaweed. I added a slice of pork belly as well! Absolutely delicious! 10/10!!! The ramen noodles were cooked perfectly and the soup broth was savory and rich with flavor. The bamboo added some texture and a slight sweetness and the pork belly slice was the perfect addition. I literally ate the entire bowl!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kappo Nara Ramen and absolutely loved the vibe this restaurant gave. From the soft R&B music playing in the background to being able to view all of the Polaroids lined up on the walls of previous customers enjoying their ramen, I will definitely be returning. My server, Janelle, was also amazing and I loved that we had a chance to chat, she was super sweet. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for amazing ramen and good vibes.

'Twas the night before Thanksgiving and Ramen was on the menu! There was quite a bit of a wait, which told me that the food would be worth it! It took a little time to receive service after sitting, but the place was busy. This gave us a chance to study the menu options and look at some of the pictures on the wall. I love a place that celebrates their customers, and using Polaroids to capture the moment is such a cool idea. We definitely added to the collection! The tables were pretty close together so private conversations probably wouldn't work but it's great for socializing! The food came out in a decent amount of time. We had the veggie ramen, chicken teriyaki and egg rolls. All were tasty, by my veggie ramen could've used more flavor. Overall it was a great experience!

This was my very time trying ramen ever. I decided to go here and give it a try. As I entered the restaraunt I noticed the ambiance and the decor of the place was beautiful! All over it had pictures of previous smiling customers scattered all over the restaraunt. I thought this was sooo cute! I definitely would like to take a picture next time to place on the wall for memories! Since it was my first time trying ramen, the server politely recommended me different things to try. All of it sounded so good! Since I am a fried chicken lover - I decided to go with the Fried Chicken Ramen. It was soo tasty. The broth was flavorful and the bowl was so delicious! It was a huge portion - I couldnt finish it all in one sitting. But hey! Thats what to go boxes are for lol ! I also got the strawberry slushie as a beverage. It was very refreshing and fresh tasting - not full of a bunch of sugary mixes and syrups. I could atleast taste the strawberries in it. The prices were very affordable. Each ramen bowl was around $11 - $12.50 dollars. I definitely will be a returning customer here! :)

Kappo Nara has been in my bookmarks for some time now. My girls wanted boba and we hadn't had lunch so it worked out to try it out today. I am so glad we did! First of I love the ambiance, very cozy but welcoming feeling when we sit. Staff was PHENOMENAL! So friendly and helpful considering it was my first time. I loved what I ordered and so did everyone in my family. The portions are great. Food is delicious. Place is clean. Staff amazing. And the cherry on top... HELLO KITTY DECOR! Oh yeah, oh yeah! ;)

After several attempts to have pho for lunch, I settled on ramen from Kappo Nara Ramen. Looking back, I am glad that my pho lunch plan did not work out because this place is pretty awesome. Also, it might be my new go-to spot for ramen. The service was pretty top-notch because my waiter (a young fella with orange/blondish hair) always made sure that I was taken care of. For my dining pleasure, I went with a tonkotsu ramen, which was absolutely delicious. I'm kind of sad that it was so delicious because I'll probably order only this dish for future visits and not try any of the other ramen bowls. You know, if it ain't broke don't fix it. While the ramen was packed with plenty of yummy ingredients, I wish that I had known that before adding the spicy ground pork because it was so much food. Just as an FYI, the spicy ground pork is pretty spicy. All in all, I definitely look forward to returning to Kappo Nara Ramen in the very near future.

Went for dinner and was seated right away. The dining area was full for the dinner crowd. The staff was friendly to every customer and checked in with us often. The spicy miso ramen is my favorite!

The food was amazing. Their dumplings and rice balls were good and well made. The ramen was obviously all the rage and you get exactly what you ask for. The aesthetic is cute and welcoming. I loved it. They also have a boba tea shop attached to the restaurant.

When we got there, at lunchtime on a weekday, they were packed, but there were a few seats open at a hightop, which we took. I tried a cup of their red bean and ham soup (it was the soup du jour) as well as their open face chicken salad sandwich and both were very good. They were both made fresh, in-house with fresh ingredients. Flavors were great too. I really liked the touch of having Dijon mustard on the chicken salad sandwich. I'm a chef myself and travel to different restaurants regularly, so I try to be understanding. That said, the service we experienced yesterday at Stock Pot was unfortunately some of the worst I've had in quite a while. We sat outside, and it honestly felt like we were being deliberately ignored. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we had to wait long stretches just to get basic things. At one point near the end of our meal, we asked for a box and our check. Instead of bringing it over, the waitresses stood around talking with other waitresses, while we continued to wait. After sitting there for quite a while, we eventually had to ask for the check and box, a second time. Throughout the meal the service was inconsistent. We had three different waitresses checking on us, but were left to sit for about 30 minutes alone at one point, and it took almost 20 to have our order taken, once we ordered, we had to request our appetizer again, after waiting another 20 or so minutes. Upon asking, again, we found out they were out of part of the appetizer we ordered. After that it came out quick. The food, however, was excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. That's why this review is disappointing to write -- the kitchen is clearly doing a great job. I just hope the service side improves, because it didn't match the quality of the food.

I had the Ebi (shrimp) curry ramen. The curry was very flavorful but different than both Jamaican and Indian curries. I don't like that they keep the tails on the shrimp even though it's in the ramen. I also had salmon rice balls as well as Shumai. The shumai was good and so were the rice balls, but never having had rice balls, they weren't what I was expecting. I expected them to have meat in them but it was just rice with salmon flavored powder. We also added hot green tea to our meal. While not anything special, I do like to end my meal this way. The service was pretty good but we didn't like that our waitress stood next to our table from the moment we sat down. We felt pressured to hurry up and order, and it just made things awkward. She was very attentive though. This restaurant is your typical local Japanese style restaurant. Very authentic in its feel and decor - nothing fancy, basic service. But if you like more authentic type dishes vs chain restaurants, I think this is a place to try! Oh, I will also add this place was alot less expensive than places like Domoishi! I give it a 3 star because I feel neutral about it - not because anything was super wrong about it!
