    Chili Wonton (comes with 6)
    Kayla M.

This place gets pretty busy around lunchtime, even so, we were still sat immediately and did not have to wait long for food. The chili wontons were the star of the show for me, and definitely on my must order list when we come back. We enjoyed the food and are excited to come back and try the specials!!

For a while, I've seen posts from fellow Yelpers who've dined here. The food always looked good and I haven't noticed major negative reviews. Sophia and I drove from the Peninsula to see if the trek was worth the experience. We were greeted by one of the hostesses and seated immediately. Around the dining area, the decor is covered with anime material. From artwork to figurines to even them showing an anime movie, it's pretty neat especially if you're a fan. And foot traffic started to pick up after we got seated. Great timing for the both of us. After a few minutes, we were ready to order. For apps, we picked Age Dashi Tofu. This one took a minute because I'm used to soft tofu, but the mid-firm was fine. Each piece was fried nicely with each ingredient working together. For my main dish, I chose one of their specials, szechuan style spicy beef noodle (ramen). Very good stuff. The beef shank was cooked perfectly along with good amount of bok choy and scallions for the veggie portion. At first, I worried about the spice level, but it was mild and not having yours truly cough up a storm. All in all, a great experience at such a quaint spot. This won't be the last time you'll see us. More great stuff to try. Till next time :)

This place is warm and welcoming with great food and service. I had the salmon teriyaki with bok choy and rice. Hubby had the seafood ramen. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were tasty and filling too.

My absolute favorite place to eat in vb! The food is fresh and flavorful. The appetizers are the best! I recommend the chili wontons, ika kushi (fried squid), garlic green beans, and the pork buns are elite! The katsudon and katsu curry and great too! The staff is always friendly and the restaurant has tons of anime decor!

Unfortunately they do not serve sushi as of February 2025. The Ramen dishes are always a hit

Do not want to rate it well because it's too good for five and deserves 10. Also love how small it is and they definitely should buy the place next to them and expand. I always loved ramen and the miso ramen is to DIE for. I love how big the portions are without the add ons and they also cater to your preferences. I love my katsu on the side and throw em in as I go so I can savor that CRUNCH. But 10/5 would recommend. If you didn't like ramen before you'll like it now. SESAME BALLS ARE A1.

Chicken wing app 9/10 cause I appreciated it wasn't drenched in sauce.

I went here back when it was still at Lohman's plaza. I didn't even realize they had opened up shop here near Chick's beach until I came for dinner with friends. It's small with lots of anime decor. Love that. The servers were all so friendly and didn't rush us even though it was a Friday evening. The grilled squid was tasty and usually not on a non AYCE menu. The wings came in 6 and I am so glad it wasn't drenched in a sauce. It can become overwhelming depending on the sauce. That said, we got sushi rolls and ramen bowls. Soft shell crab was my protein of choice as I have never seen that as an option with a ramen bowl around here. I love soft shell . I ate it quickly so the broth didn't make it soggy. We ended it with a fried cheesecake to share and celebrate our belated and upcoming birthdays. Definitely will have to bring the kiddos next time and try some other items from the menu and the wall.

Hong Kong style chajang mein- noodles topped with ground pork and green onions. Comes with bok choy and small soup

Love this place. I have been coming to Misako for some time now and have yet to leave a review. So, here we go. I love their seafood ramen and red miso ramen, delicious. My go to dish is the Hong Kong Style Chajang Mein. It is a beautiful plate of noodles topped with sweet and spicy ground pork that is topped with green onions. There is also a generous serving of bok choy that is nestled on the side of the plate. This dish comes with small bowl of what I believe to be miso soup with a hint of sesame oil. Delicious. The description on the menu states that the dish is sweet and spicy, it is mostly sweet. I recently tried their fried rice with shrimp. That dish is big enough for two or three people. I will say that it was a bit greasy for my taste, but I didn't dislike it. I LOVE their ebi appetizer (4pc). This is shrimp wrapped in potato and I believe it to be deep fried. Their harumaki (2pc). This is their ground beef and veggies spring roll that is deep fried. Takoyaki (6pc). Delicious balls filled with octopus, covered with Japanese mayo and eel sauce and then it is topped with bonito flakes. It is such a treat when the dish is served because it is soft, a little gooey and full of flavor. Watching this dish when it is placed on your table is so fun, it is almost like the dish is dancing because of the bonito flakess

I have been waiting to try Misako since I moved to Virginia Beach close to 6 months ago. The fact that they have both sushi and ramen drew me towards this place. Location is easy to access, but nothing that really brings you in. It's located in a strip mall off of Shore Drive with lots of parking. Inside, it is anime-themed, with lots of anime decor and memorabilia along with anime playing on the TV. Not my thing, but it was obvious that it is a reason other people frequent this establishment. We came in for a late lunch during the week on a Thursday. We planned ahead to avoid Wednesday because it is posted on their door that they don't offer sushi on Wednesdays. Very unfortunately, they apparently also don't offer sushi whenever the sushi chef leaves for a few hours, which just happened to be when we came in. We weren't told this before being sat, but instead figured it out after NOT being given a sushi menu. When we asked, they let us know that he stepped out for a bit but we could wait an hour if we wanted sushi... this was quite a disappointment for us hence the 3 star review. Let's talk about the more important stuff; food. I ordered the wontons with chili oil, which were fantastic. Very spicy, but served piping hot and filled with flavor. I also got the Tonkotsu Ramen, which was also good. Compared to the places we used to frequent in Hawaii, the toppings weren't very exciting (corn and green onion), but the flavor of the broth was delicious and the pork was tender and flavorful. I would order both again. My friend got the gyoza, miso soup and the fried rice. She liked both starters, but wasn't thrilled by the fried rice. Although the food was flavorful, the lack of knowing what is going to be available will probably steer me away.

The food is always great. It's been a while since we've been here, but it's just as good. We got several entrees including curry dishes and ramen. I ordered the Hong Kong style Cha Jang Mein ( sweet and spicy ground pork with egg noodle and bokchoy) and seaweed salad. The service was great and was asked if we wanted refills or needed anything else. The restaurant is small but is cozy enough to fit several groups at one time.

This is now my favorite ramen place in the area! After being recommended this place by my friend, I will 100% recommend this to anyone looking for ramen in Hampton Roads. We ordered the wontons with chili oil as an appetizer, and they were very good. The sauce is what really makes it pop! If you like spicy food, I would definitely recommend. For our main dishes, we ordered the katsu ramen (one fried and one grilled). This was the star of the night!! The broth was the best miso broth I've ever had stateside--super rich, creamy, and very flavorful. I added a little chili oil to give it that extra kick, and it really hit the spot. Even the katsu itself was deliciously fried and seasoned. Our waitress was very friendly, and the food was fresh. For the restaurant being at full capacity when we arrived, the service was quick too. This place reminds me of the little hole-in-the-wall ramen shops in Japan. The ramen here was spot on. We will be back!!

So this place has been on my list for quite sometime but since I have my go to sushi place. We ordered take out and I was partly satisfied and partly disappointed. Ordered the bbq spare rib but they were out. Ordered the little mermaid roll, tuna delight, and 2 salmon sashimi 1 tuna sashimi. I asked for siracha and spicy Mayo. The rolls were good and the fish was very fresh. Not happy about the sashimi portion sizes.

When we got there, at lunchtime on a weekday, they were packed, but there were a few seats open at a hightop, which we took. Service was great and attentive, as well as helpful as she offered great suggestions and explained how various dishes were made. I tried a cup of their red bean and ham soup (it was the soup du jour) as well as their open face chicken salad sandwich and both were very good. They were both made fresh, in-house with fresh ingredients. Flavors were great too. I really liked the touch of having Dijon mustard on the chicken salad sandwich. There were so many great things on the menu that I would definitely return and try more!

I'm a chef myself and travel to different restaurants regularly, so I try to be understanding. That said, the service we experienced yesterday at Stock Pot was unfortunately some of the worst I've had in quite a while. We sat outside, and it honestly felt like we were being deliberately ignored. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we had to wait long stretches just to get basic things. At one point near the end of our meal, we asked for a box and our check. Instead of bringing it over, the waitresses stood around talking with other waitresses, while we continued to wait. After sitting there for quite a while, we eventually had to ask for the check and box, a second time. Throughout the meal the service was inconsistent. We had three different waitresses checking on us, but were left to sit for about 30 minutes alone at one point, and it took almost 20 to have our order taken, once we ordered, we had to request our appetizer again, after waiting another 20 or so minutes. Upon asking, again, we found out they were out of part of the appetizer we ordered. After that it came out quick. The food, however, was excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. That's why this review is disappointing to write -- the kitchen is clearly doing a great job. I just hope the service side improves, because it didn't match the quality of the food.

I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and that broth deserved a moment of silence. Rich, savory, deeply flavorful, with just enough chili oil to give it a little attitude without setting my mouth on fire. The eggs were cooked perfectly and seasoned so well I briefly considered ordering a side of just eggs. We also got salmon onigiri and let me save someone from making our same hungry mistake: one order is definitely enough for two people to share unless you came in after a marathon or something. We ordered two because the menu made them seem innocent and petite; they are not. Delicious though. The ebi shumai was also excellent, and even the hot green tea hit the spot. Zero complaints about the food. Everything came out fast, hot, and tasting like somebody in that kitchen actually cares. Service was super quick, though there was one slightly funny moment when our server came to take the order, we said we needed a minute... and she just stood there silently at the table like this was some kind of pressure-based game show. Not rude, just a little intense for people who like to pretend they need time before ordering the exact same thing they already wanted. The restaurant itself is small, simple, mom-and-pop vibes. No frills, just good food. Personally, I love places like this because they usually spend less money on decor and more money on making sure the broth is good. No wait, plenty of parking, fast service, and food that made us clean the bowls. I'll definitely be back.
