This cost me $36.45 pre-tax, then $40.82 pre-tip to $45.82 cash post-tip (with Receipt) This Restaurant is great 1 of the 2 Noodle Man in Virginia, although the one in Sam's Circle is far superior since this place lacks the Shaanxi Knife-Cut Chicken Soup Noodles There is nothing to say except for the fact that Noodle Man easily has the most delicious Chinese Noodles in Virginia, so all of the food are very delicious
While in the area, I stopped by Noodle Man since I'd been wanting to try it for a while. The place was smaller than I expected, with just a few booths and tables. Only one booth was available when we arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday, and it was in the middle of being cleaned, but luckily we were planning to get our order to-go anyway. The menu had a nice variety, including appetizers, noodle soups, cold and stir-fried noodles, and fried rice. I ordered the Fried Salt & Spicy Wings, Fried Crab Wontons, Kung Pao Chicken with Stir-Fried Noodles and Jalapeño Chicken with Stir-Fried Noodles. The food took about 20 minutes to be prepared so we waited around until it was finished. The wontons were pretty good, though I wish they had a little more flavor. The wings were crunchy, savory, and fried perfectly but weren't spicy at all like the name entailed. Both my daughter and I really enjoyed our stir-fried noodle dishes, they were absolutely delicious! Although the Jalapeño Chicken didn't have any noticeable jalapeños and wasn't spicy either, the flavor overall was still just as great. Overall, the staff were really nice and I love that they make their noodles right in the restaurant. I'd definitely return to try other stir-fried noodles dishes. If you're in the area, stop in. You will not be disappointed!
My friends and I dropped by Noodle Man for a quick take out order after a yelp event. When we walked in it was packed. There isn't really a dedicated space to order. The waiter who took our order was nice. We ordered and then waited outside. When I got my order 20 minutes later it was incorrect. I asked for beef scallion pancakes and the waiter thought I meant vegetable pancakes because basically they're just called beef pancakes. It was a misunderstanding on both our parts, so he corrected the issue with no problems. When I went back it was so much going on, they were about to close and still very busy. The girl and guy waiters both looked so tired. I felt bad for them but they handled the situation the best they could. They were even apologetic. I appreciate both of their good customer service skills in resolving the issue. I think their names were Cheyenne and Jr. Hats off to them for keeping things moving smoothly, because I watched them take phone orders, bring food to tables, and clean up. There's a window where you can watch the homemade noodles made. It was cool to watch, but that poor guy was putting in work. They have a menu with a good amount of options. The homemade noodles are tasty. I enjoyed my beef pancakes. Check them out!!
We had a great experience at Noodle Man and would highly recommend! The hot and spicy noodle soup delivered authentic heat and well-balanced flavor, and the salt and spicy fried squid was equally enjoyable. Prices are reasonable, service is friendly and attentive, and the lively atmosphere adds to the overall experience. Both booth and bar seating are available.
Always a 5 star review for Noodle Man. Not only are the noodles made/pulled in house but the broth tastes that it has simmered for hours, most probably has been. I always get the brisket and tomato soup. First time to try the beef pancake (as I always order the spicy (served cold) beef, super good too!) Service is friendly. Ambiance gives you the feel of true Asian- no fuss but simply delicious!
Great food in cozy quarters in full view of an employee hand pulling noodles. Dinner and a show. They cruise without booze but the fresh made to order tasty food starts the party in your mouth! Mongolian beef noodles (c3) are excellent, my fave. Shared shopping center parking lot, 2 unisex bathrooms (seemingly always occupied); may have to wait or sit at a shared table if they're busy.
The staff greeted us and sat us down quickly. They were friendly and accommodating! We put our order in for cold spicy cucumber salad appetizer, the Mongolian chicken stir-fried noodle, and the Hong Kong style wonton soup. It was all very delicious!! Highly recommend for dinner in a relaxed atmosphere.
I figured it was time for an updated review of Noodle Man. I'd like to say that Noodle Man has been open at this location since late 2018. They were an immediate hit and have grown in popularity so much that they opened a second location in Chesapeake in February/March 2020. I hit up this VB Noodle Man location on occasion and am glad to report they are just as good now as they were when they first opened. The VB Noodle Man is small. There are about 9-10 tables and roughly 8 seats at the bar. They will fill up quickly during the lunch and dinner rushes. Regardless, their space is clean, organized and is the perfect size to view the kitchen staff as they prepare the food and make their famous noodles. The great thing about Noodle Man is they make their noodles in house. The technique they use is of the more traditional style of making noodles, which I've only seen in person here. If nothing else, any noodle dish you order will be fresh and delicious. It's obvious that their customers love that aspect, and they reward them by returning again and again. I've visited often enough to try nearly everything on their menu. And I haven't had a bad dish among them. Although they're good any time, I usually opt for the Chicken Mushroom Noodle Soup (B1.) during the winter months. I sometimes opt in for an appetizer, too - their Pork Shrimp with Leek Dumpling (A11.) is fantastic. Other highlights include: A3. Fried Salt & Spicy Shrimp A4. Fried Salt & Spicy Wings A5. Fried Salt & Spicy Pork Chop (this is a recurring theme) B2. Tomato Beef Brisket Noodle Soup B6. Hong Kong Style Noodle Soup The broth for their soup is delicious and complements the noodles perfectly. In addition, their soups are plentiful - you will get filled up if you finish an entire bowl. Finally, Noodle Man's staff is fantastic. Many of the wait staff are veterans - they know the menu inside and out, know much of the clientele (NM has many regulars at this point), and know exactly how to handle any given situation and customer. I'd like to think I'm a regular because a couple of the servers have recognized me, but I recently met a man who stops in every Saturday, and apparently comes in as often as possible. That's a testament to how good Noodle Man's food and service are - those regulars are loyal and will sing its praises to anyone who will listen. I'm glad Noodle Man has remained a fantastic place. N oodle man will bring you back to the alleys of mainland China where every noodle is hand pulled, the broth is light yet deep, and the flavors keep wanting you to go back. Noodle Man is a delight that it's in the middle of a shopping mall and packed with these great flavors. It's a wonder that they don't have 2nd or 3rd locations nearby. As for food choice, I would definitely recommend having a noodles with broth. You simply can't go wrong and it is unparalleled to anything that you would find in the near vicinity!
The interior is is clean and decor is nice. Had a big window to the kitchen to see them hand pulling the noodles. The servers were attentive and kind. The salt and spicy fried squid and shrimp were amazing very garlicky and flavorful and tasted fresh. The chili wontons were not great. The wonton is more like shumai and the filling was very mushy. The sauce was wasn't spicy more vinegary. The seafood noodles were a shared portion where they offered to split! The noodles had a good chew, did lack flavor but the broth was yummy. The seafood in the noodles were chewy and didnt taste the freshest.
Our go-to spot! We love everything from the hot & spicy soup, to the mongolian beef! The spicy pork dumplings are always a 5/5! Always cool to see the workers making the noodles! Just such a cute and cozy spot to dine. My personal favorite is the hot & spicy soup, but the brisket tomato soup was wonderful too. You definitely must stop by while you're in VB.
My husband and I's first time trying Noodle Man was on a Saturday night via delivery through DoorDash. The order came quickly and was accurate and hot! We ordered the Pork Wonton appetizer with Chili Oil and they were surprisingly not spicy at all. The prominent flavor was actually ginger believe it or not. I found them to be light and delicious, although not what I was initially expecting. For dinner, I tried the Chicken Fried Rice and the Mongolian Beef Stir Fry Noodle dishes. Both were delicious, but the Mongolian Beef Stir Fry Noodle was my number one favorite. The beef was perfectly cooked and not full of fat as you often find at most Chinese restaurants. The spice level was perfect and the szechuan peppers added the perfect amount of heat. I love how this dish was full of veggies between the two different peppers. Noodles and rice were both cooked perfectly. My husband had the Hot & Spicy Noodle and he enjoyed it thoroughly. He wasn't very hungry going into dinner, but managed to enjoyed the entire soup. We both really enjoyed the food we had from Noodle Man and I am pleased that we have found our go-to Chinese restaurant in the Virginia Beach area. We will definitely be repeat customers!
3 minutes from my house! This could be dangerous! I go crazy for mapo Tofu and this one had me going! Great flavor and texture! The dumplings never fail also. Always fresh and spicy. The only downfall I saw was definitely seeing the napkin holders , salt and pepper etc have probably never been wiped off. Definitely dirty and need some love. With all the germs running around. I'm a stickler for table areas being clean for the safety of customers. The food is absolutely amazing though! read more

I can't believe that this was my first dinner at Noodle Man. It's so close, well reviewed and did not disappoint. We were welcomed inside by friendly staff. Seating options included around the glass windows where one could watch the show, preparation of the hand pulled noodles. We chose a booth which had an excellent view of the noodle preparation. Having previous checked the menu, I ordered Mushu Beef with Stir-Fried Noodles. I love Stir Fried Noodles. The choice of a non spicy dish was made to test their level of spicy. After adding hot sauce I found it excellent. The noodles were wonderful and the beef tender. I've already decided that on my next visit I'll have what my grandson ordered, Mongolian Beef Stir Fry. He began with the Cucumber Salad, which was excellent. I swiped a few pieces to try. My son began with the Vegetable Spring Rolls. His entree was the Seafood Noodle Soup. The restaurant doesn't serve alcohol or sake. I had the hot green tea, my son the herbal canned ice tea & my grandson a soft drink, My family, who are accustomed to the excellent NYC food, proclaimed it solid. That's my son's highest level of praise. The location is in Haygood Shopping Center, which is on Independence Boulevard about midway between its intersection with Virginia Beach Boulevard and Shore Drive. Parking is plentiful. The restaurant itself was brightly lit & clean. Wall design appeared to be mural style reflective of the restaurant's offerings and their heritage. Seating was comfortable. This is a restaurant with menu offerings that should be enjoyed by all. I will return. read more

Lord help me because if I have to drive seven hours to come back here from New York, I will. The first time I've ever seen somebody making the noodles by hand before them getting served out to a diner. This place is awesome. Oh, did I mention they were hand-pulled noodles? The guy was encased in glass and looked like everybody else was watching him make his stuff. Service was amazing. They were on the ball from the minute I walked in. I took a seat at the bar so I could watch the show. I think this is the kind of spot you need to bring a couple of friends with who enjoy good food so you can split the appetizers on top of a very filling entree. The space isn't huge but it has a bunch of booths and about eight spots at the bar for you to sit through. Good music and the wait staff genuinely seemed happy to work there and were really grooving. Some were even singing along with the tunes. Definitely going to be back before I head back upstate. read more

Why didn't anyone tell me this place was so good?!? (Actually people have been telling me for years) but I finally decided to go one afternoon for lunch. I got there right around the time they opened because I didnt know if it got packed. There were about 3 tables full. By the time I was leaving, people were starting to come in. I sat at the bar area against the glass window so I could watch the guy make the noodles from scratch. It was so cool. I ordered the shredded chicken with garlic sauce noodles. It was delicious. Everything tasted so fresh. I would definitely recommend and can't wait to try more items! read more

It's been a while since I've been here. But the food is always consistently good. I don't think I have ever seen this location NOT busy. Wait staff are always friendly and always efficient. Prices are reasonable, and good portions. Drinks are always cans. Military discounts are offered, just ask. If waiting to be seated, you can either wait or have them call you in your cell, when the table js ready. My go- to apps and entrees are the cucumber salad, but It's on the spicy side and the pork chili oil wontons which are significantly spicy. read more

I ordered the mushu chicken noodle and the Mongolian beef! And both are delicious. I ordered the mushu for my partner because she doesn't like spicy and oh my gosh, I wish I would've gotten two of them instead. But we will be back! I tried both of them, and the mushu was just so good I couldn't stop eating them. After I ate part of the Mongolian it got a little better! It's not bad by any means, but the other just tasted so much better. After I mixed the Mongolian beef up a little bit I think maybe some of the flavors just weren't mixed in. Anyway, the staff were all VERY friendly, I had 3 different people help me with a to go order. It was very fast maybe 10-15 minutes. And SO WORTH IT. You can see the cooks the entire time which is really cool. They make the noodles themselves and that was very cool to watch. read more

We ordered the cucumber salad, pork wonton with chili oil (i think we ended up with the siu mai with chili oil) mongolian beef stir fried noodle, and tomato beef brisket noodle soup. All the dishes were delicious. They had just the right amount of heat/spicy but not too much to make you sweat. The service was quick, helpful and courteous. The ambience was nice. It was great that you were able to see them making the hand pulled noodles. That is always very entertaining. And then to eat it in your dish it was just heavenly. Fresh noodles are always the best! And it's a treat to be able to experience that here in this establishment. We will definitely always come back here when we are in town. read more

Overall 3.5/5 The stir fried squid & Lanzhou noods was great but would not get the wonton in chili oil and tomato based hand pulled noodles We love that there was 2 diff kinds of chili oil too. But some things were a hit and some was a miss Stir fried squid 4/5: nicely breaded and yummy squid Lan zhou noodles 4/5: soup base was pretty good - beefy and loved the meats Wonton in chili oil 1/5: this is not wontons just to warn ya but sui mai instead and this is lit supermarket sui mai so we were pretty disappointed because everyone said this was good Tomato based band pulled noodles 1.5/5: this was recommended to us.. but this is lit very tomatoey using tomato paste so if you'd like that then this might be a good choice read more

Amazing noodle soups! When this spot opened, it was all the rage and there were lines out the door. Now that the hype has died down, you can easily enjoy their handmade noodles without a crazy wait. I recommend getting the Lan Zhou Beef Noodle Soup, the first item on the menu. It's basic, yet flavorful and delicious. You will not be disappointed! read more
We had last dined here four years ago so we were due back but so many restaurants and so little time. We perused the menu and realized it had not changed. Hubby got the exact same meal: jalapeño chicken noodles while I changed mine to Hong Kong with wontons. Each of us was so very pleased after "doctoring " our dishes up with the condiments on the table labeled "soup" or "stir fry". Simple but useful. Then sriracha of course. Perfect. Food was good! The chili oil wontons were flavorful! Little Dude #2 loved his chicken wings! Big Bro ate his beef fried rice without complaint. Daughter & Littlest Dude shared the Lan Zhou soup. Great service. Friendly and they are observant if you need something extra. Quaint inside. We have not had any problem getting seated but we have gotten the last available table. Never had to wait. Clean in the dinning area, restrooms sometimes need help. The noodles are the best. My favorite part is watching them make the noodles. It is absolutely hipnotic. We have gotten the Mogolian Beef Stir-Fry Noodles (5star) the jalapeno chicken with stir fried noodles is supposed to be spicy. It was a on the sweet side and only a little spicy (4star) We have also gotten the shredded chicken with garlic sauce stir-fried noodles and this was spicier than the jalapeno chicken. We prefered this. It was the right amount of heat and the flavor was good. (4star) My only draw back is that the only thing to these dishes is green bell pepper the meat and the noodles. Then the seasoning is a little different but if you get a few dishes they all look the same. The Tomatoe Beef Brisket noodle soup was pretty good (4star) again lacking complex flavor. Did someone say NOODS?! These are some of the best noods in Hampton Roads fr fr! Every time we go to Noodle Man it is a good time. Never disappoints. HAND MADE NOODLES GUYS. Hand. Made. I absolutely recommend B1 noodle soup for those going for the first time. Super delicious and savory. If you are craving stir fry noodles, C5 and C6 are top notch. I just love love the mushrooms. If I'm craving noodles, this is honestly my go to spot. The appetizers are also bangers. The pancakes are super thick and savory, vegetable and beef are both good! The pork shrimp with leek dumplings are big and thick. The honey shrimp to die for. You get lost in the sauce in a good kind of way! You really do feel the love in this food. I also always gotta get an herbal tea. It hits the spot! The ambiance is awesome, you can watch them make your noodles through the kitchen windows. Those forearms are BUFF from stretching the noodle dough. It's a small place and can get busy at times, so be prepared for that. I went today on Memorial Day, and it was chill. Service is always great and everyone is super nice. One of the friendliest places, they always check on you and help you out with what you need. Just friendly attitudes. I recommend eating there. Sorry, we only have takeout now. First, for our noodle fans’ safety considerations; second we want to ensure the quality of our noodle dishes.
Are gluten free noodles and option, or are all the noodle gluten free?
The noodles definitely are not gluten free. I don't believe they offer an alternative, I would call and ask.
Are fresh noodles available for purchase (uncooked)?
I know they're freshly made, I am unsure if they sell them that way.
Going here at 7pm with my military friends Mark and Asa? Is this a good time to go?
There will likely be a wait at this time, especially if it is on the weekend. Noodle Man on Independence is quickly becoming very popular.
Do they put MSG in their foods ? Food allergies
My husband usually gets a headache from msg but hasn't had an issue after eating there.
Are there vegetarian options?
Yes, but you have talk to the waitress to special order it.
Does the menu have any smaller-sized offerings which include the noodles (or a kids' menu which includes any noodle dishes)?
Yes, we do have kid noodle (fresh hand pulled noodles with broth). You have to ask the waitress for it. Our menu will have the update one soon. Thank you for your interest :)
