This place is such a win. They have never dropped their standards and continue to keep the customer service high, quality of ingredients and cook phenomenal, and just everything solid. Went here for a family lunch out and we seriously drove 45 minutes just to eat here.. it's just that delicious. I will admit that we actually pass their other location just to go to this one. I don't know what it is about this particular location but it's OG and seems to just be better. Maybe it's the service, but I definitely feel like there's something done different at this one. Oh Noodle Man. How is it that I like none of the actual noodle dishes but love all of your appetizers and other stuff?! I have been to the VB location a few years ago and didn't like anything I had ordered. I was hoping this time would be different. The salt and pepper shrimp and such was delicious. As was the cucumber salad and everything. But the actual noodles itself? Overpowering with star anise and Szechuan peppers-- so much so I tasted nothing else and breathing foul odors for the next few days I swear. The potato noodles were hard to chew and easily could become a choking hazard. The service was fast and friendly despite the busy dinner hours. The restaurant had plenty of seats inside and the orders became available fast. Very little to no wait without feeling rushed. Like my dining companion said, everything but the noodles are good here. I should have heeded the warning. Parking is free and most major cards accepted. Unless a friend insists on going, this is not a must visit spot for me. Pretty good food, although they're pretty restricted because of their name lol. They sell mainly noodle dishes with the exception of some fried rice dishes. They also offer a kid's menu, which isn't much, literally like two options, but hey, some stores don't offer any at all! My husband works down in that area and offered to bring home takeout for me and it was yummy! I tried the Mushu chicken with no mushrooms and onions instead. The order was correct and the container was packed to the top with delicious food! It had a good flavor and I am looking forward to trying out more of their dishes! Very good noodles! First experience here, our waitress was very quick and kept our drinks filled the entire evening. They had two tv's above the counter area with some food shows on, one with a mini cooking show with everything being tiny but fully edible. It caught our attention for most of our dinner lol. The kids chicken noodle soup its huge! So may be able to split between two littles. I got the bugolgi and its was alright, not bad but not something I would get here again, just wasn't a strong flavor. Same with the salt and spicy wings, they were juicy and a good crunch but no spice at all, even with the jalapeños on top, it didnt really have that kick I would have expected. Even with the place being pretty busy it wasn't that loud inside which was nice to be able to chat at the table. Sooo good. You can watch them make the noodles through the window into the kitchen. The spicy calamari is a MUST. Best calamari we've ever been. It's addicting. I also love the beef lan zhou noodle soup and my husband loves the spicy noodle soup. Service is quick and friendly. I thought it was a little too salty. I would like it better with less sauce just because the sauce was so salty. My husband got B2 Tomato/Beef brisket noodle soup. That was perfect and delicious. We both loved A5 salt & spicy pork chop. When they bring it you can ask for a dipping sauce. I like that so much better because it adds a sweetness to the salty spice. Great service!! Went in for lunch around 12:20'and was out by 1pm.... Perfect for the lunch crowd and people that work close by. First time here.. Went with the Mongolian Beef Noodles.... It was great, flavorful. The sauce was not that spicy, and the noodles were perfectly cooked.. My only negative with this dish is that the noodles were too long.. so you spend a lot of time spinning your fork to get the noodles to ball up on the fork.. and that left little room to get some beef or veggies.. so what happens is you eat all the noodles and then you are left with beef and onions in a sauce with no noodles. Not a bad thing, perhaps if the noodles were shorter it would have been easier to get beef, noodles, and veggies all at once onto your fork.. Overall.. loved the speed of the restaurant. Try out something new with hubby during our self care day and we treated ourselves to this noodle spot where everything is made fresh. The waitress very nice and very attentive to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and the atmosphere is more relaxed and comfortable for both solo,couple and group. I got the tomato and beef noodle soups which reminded me of a traditional pho which was nice and light and the broth had that warm beef flavor with tomato adding that acidic taste to balance out the meat and soup the beef was very good it was just a little bit of tough for me to eat but it was delicious. And the noodles are made hand made and fresh so all my noodles lover this place is for you and ramen lovers. I also tried the salt and spicy crispy chicken the waiter was informative of getting us a heads up with certain things and I also appreciate that she also said for chicken there a 15 minute wait on it because it's made fresh out and not made prior which was worth the wait the chicken was nice and crispy with aftertaste of salt to cut down the richness of the chicken and it was very juicy not dry at all. read more

First Asian restaurant we've tried in Chesapeake, and while the presentation and portions were good, the flavors didn't quite match up. The tomato brisket noodle soup was the most flavorful of what we ordered--the noodles and meat were a perfect ratio, though the broth could've used more depth. Same with the wonton noddle soup. The salt and spicy chicken was juicy and enjoyable, but a little more seasoning would've really brought it to life. Restaurant was clean with plenty of seating and staff was nice and quick. I was very hesitant to eat here as I have had many bad experiences with Chinese food in Virginia from awhile ago. Times have changed and this restaurant is legit! They make their own noodles fresh right there in front of you! The soup is perfectly flavored and reminds me of good soup noodle places that are found in Hawaii and in Las Vegas. The wait staff is all friendly, young, pretty girls and they are hustling around trying to take care of dine in customers and take out customers alike. The restaurant was full when I arrived so I was happy I could sit at the counter so I didn't need to wait long for my food. The other bonus was that I could watch the kitchen make the noodles fresh! The waitress took my order and got my water. I ordered the salt and spicy pork chop and the beef and tomato noodle soup. The appetizer came out first and it was pretty good. I would have liked a little more pepper on the dish but it was good. The beef and tomato noodle soup was also very good and I may have drank a little too much of the soup as it was really good and I had to make sure I got all my noodles and onions. The restaurant itself is quite large with booths, open tables, and counter seating. The restaurant was full when I arrived, while I was there, and when I left. I feel the restaurant is really popular in the area. Overall, it was a very nice dining experience. The price was a little high but for the quality of service and food, I think it was worth it. What's better than soup on a cold day?!! Came for dinner with my husband. It wasn't too crowded, so we were seated quickly. I wanted the salt and spicy wings but they were out. So we got the chicken and shrimp egg rolls and crab cheese wontons . The spiders were ok. I got the hot and spicy soup which was amazing!! The broth was my favorite part! My husband asked if he could get that soup but with beef and was told no. So he got the tomato beef brisket soup with chili oil. He said the soup was over good. I tasted the broth, it had a hint of sweeteners to it which I liked. The brisket was pretty tender too. Definitely will be back for more of that spicy soup!! read more

The food and service were still wonderful, brought my family to try it with me this time. They really liked the Mongolian Beef Stir-fry noodle, spicy cucumber and chicken the most. When we entered and waiting you could tell they were busy but the ladies kept their cool as they cleaned the tables, took Togo orders, and servicing others. Our waitress kept our waters filled but this was after I had to ask her to stop at our table, but after that she kept them full. Sadly I believe they forgot or skipped over a few of our dishes because 3 appetizers did not come out until she realized we did not have them yet and we were already near finishing our main. She didn't say anything to us but I watched her rush to a woman at the bar, no more than 5 mins later we had the missing dishes. Besides this hiccup we had a pleasant visit. read more

But got to leave some constructive feedback so I have reasons to come back. Today I came during restaurant week. I thought the social media posts indicated $15 deal but when we got to the restaurant it was $25. It wasn't worth the deal. So I ordered my go to - tomato brisket noodle soup. Honestly, you really can't go with noodle man here in the Hampton Roads area. Always five stars in my book. This one is a lot larger than their original location. Had to try the original beef noodle soup and it is fantastic as usual. I do have to say that the tomato soup is a lot better. Potstickers and pancakes are always fantastic. Came here on a Tuesday for a great craving dinner! The server was friendly, and it was a semi-quiet atmosphere, but I assume it gets busy at the end of the week. But my boyfriend and I ordered the Vegetable Spring Rolls and the Pork Steamed Dumplings as our quick apps. Then got the Beef Fried Rice. The beef fried rice has the authentic taste that I have been looking for, definitely hit the spot! I grew up and was raised in Northern VA (Annandale), and we have a lot of Chinese restaurants up there, so this place will be our go-to place :) We will come back here again for sure and also try the other apps and entrees! read more

Okay wow! This place has not even been on my radar and I live fairly close by. We were greet quickly and sat almost immediately. I had my 2.5year old with me and it was really cool to show him the guys making the noodles right there behind the plexiglass. I ended up ordering crab wontons, a kids noodle soup, and the Mongolian beef stirfry. Everything was delicious. My son ate both the wontons and the noodle soup and still has enough leftover for multiple days. All it was with noodles and chicken broth but perfect for a young toddler. I did add a boiled egg and he crushed that as well. The Mongolian was so good. It was incredibly flavorful, and the meat was tender. I don't have pictures, but my sister had ordered food as well. There were some chicken wings were so good and cooked and breaded fresh. And she had the brisket, which was good too a little sweet, but nothing was left. Absolutely incredible! I tried two of their stir-fry dishes along with the dumplings and vegetable spring rolls--and every bite was amazing. Everything was perfectly seasoned--flavorful without being overpowering--and didn't need any extra condiments. The stir-fry sauces were rich and delicious, and the dipping sauces that came with the appetizers were just as impressive. I've been wanting to try this place after passing it many times on my way to get boba . I finally got the chance when someone suggested it for a birthday lunch. The interior is simple but spacious. My group of 6 were seated immediately. This is family style dining so main meal items are fairly large. We started with several appetizers: salt and spicy wings and squid, teriyaki shrimp, fried dumplings , and pork wonton. All were delicious but the favorite were the wings. They were crispy, flavorful and served hot. We put in a second order after the first were quickly devoured. Main dishes included Mongolian beef stir fry, shrimp fried rice, mushu chicken stir fry and hot &spicy noodle soup. Everything was amazing!!! We really loved the stir fry and will come for that again. The hot and spicy noodle soup was super spicy but so good and the fresh noodles made it 10 times better. The food at noodle man is quick, hot, and fresh. The noodle soups we ordered came out as hot as soup should be served and the noodles were thick and chewy, just as they should be. We love the cucumber salad , pork wonton in chili oil and the fried pork chops. We pretty much order the same things every time. Our daughter also loves the pork chops. Ambiance on a scale of 1-10 for me would be around a 7. Nothing fancy but it's clean and well maintained. Average review because our party was so divided on their opinions. Service was pretty lackluster. Our waitress did the bare minimums without a lot of friendliness. Other waitresses were much warmer to their tables so I think ours was just having an off night. My husband enjoyed his brisket soup and said it was flavored well & had lots of beef. My son had the wonton soup and it was pretty bland and only had two tiny wontons. It was just "fine". I did not like my mushu chicken at all. Very little veggies and chicken was very rubbery. We also had the honey teriyaki shrimp to start and while the sauce was nice, it definitely tasted like they needed to change their fry oil. So just average for us. We won't be back I don't think. This is a cute, clean place with great service and good food. It's Asian, but with a twist. It's not like anything else I have ever tasted. The soups are really flavorful, smell wonderful, and come beautifully presented. We also had the cucumber salad.
