Zesty Chicken & Lime Broth Bowl
    Anita S.

I tasted a soup and debated between several things that looked good before settling on a Broth Bowl. Wrong choice as it was so bland and had about half as much of the other ingredients as photos showed. Total waste of $9. My boyfriend had a cobb salad that was good, but note that there is only one salad mix available vs having romaine, etc available. The best was the grilled cheese dipper we shared with his son, with creamy tomato soup. The sandwich was more mushy and less grilled than I'd like, making it more like cheesy bread. Will pass next time.

I see why the lobster bisque and chicken pot pie are best sellers, they are sooo good, the rest of my purchases were not so good, mac and cheese was bad, (I think it was made in a microwave) and the grilled cheese dippers was just a slice of toast with cheese and the tomato soup tasted like marinara sauce. 4 stars given for the lobster bisque.

    Fly in lobster bisque.

If I could give 0 starts I would. My father ordered some lobster bisque from here and after eating a bowl himself I was going to enjoy some. I found a huge fly in it and called the restaurant to let them know. I was put on the phone with a manager who I politely greeted. After being told I could not get a refund because it wasn't their policy and my only option was to get another order of bisque I was then told that I needed to put my father on the phone. When I asked for what reason I was told because i needed to put an adult on the phone. I informed the manager that I am a 27 year old adult and was then told I didn't sound like an adult so I needed to go ahead and put my father on the phone. I will not be giving this restaurant my service ever again. ***UPDATE AFTER 1 STAR REVIEW*** The owner reached out directly to address the issue and apologize for the service. Thank you for caring about correcting issues and doing better!

It is so good! The different soup options and to be able to taste. They know what they are doing! I have not had the same kind of soup yet! And they were all good...cheddar broccoli, kale quinoa superfood and the crab and rice

The service was super good. The sandwich was good. The tomato soup wasn't my favorite but it's edible. You can sample soups while trying to decide which one you want..

First timer and this place is delicious. You get to sample all the soups before making a purchase. I would recommend this place for its soup.

I really enjoyed this place. Its located in the Landstown Commons. When i entered i was greeted and offered a free soup sample. That was cool. The store was clean and there wasn't a long wait. The guy at the counter was nice when he took my order. I ordered the Potato soup, Cowboy ranch grain bowl, and extra bread. I did ask for extra black beans, lettuce, and pico. The lady (Judy) said it would be hard to close the lid if she did extra. I was confused because i asked for the same thing a few days before and the young lady who made it was able to close the lid. This is not my first time having this conversation with Judy. I even advised her I'd pay for the extras(even though they offer it for free). I also asked for pie crumbs with my soup and my dressing on the side... I know its a little extra but its not complicated. Judy was nice but i felt like she was acting like i wanted to much. I mean i don't think I'm the only one whose asked for something extra. Her facial expressions just irked me a little... It wouldn't be such a problem but its always her, the other employees are very respectful and they make it how i ask. The salad came out with dressing all over it, my dressing i asked for on the side wasn't there, and i didn't get my extra bread or lettuce. So i had to go back inside. I ended up just paying for another side of lettuce. This was the only problem. Other than that i really enjoyed my soup and salad. The pie crumbs for the soup made it even more yummy!! It cost about $17 for everything. I would seriously go every other day if i could. I think if your looking for good food that you don't feel bad about eating, this is a great place. They have a variety of soups, salads, grain bowls, and sandwiches. My daughter got a turkey sandwich and it had 2 little sad pieces of meat, and it was dry dry. Lol. Shes not one to complain so she just ate it. So its a cool place worth trying. 3.5 stars!!!

I felt the staff's energy when I walked in. One server must've sensed me as a newbie because he said, Is this your first time? I nodded yes. He said, Come. Sample our soups. Well alrighty then. I chose the seafood chowder and Greek salad. Both were good. I'd like to go back a few more times since they change their soup selections by day.

Seafood Etoufee soup in a bread bowl

I love soup, especially if it comes in a bread bowl because I love Carbs! And if you love carbs you should come here too haha Me and my MIL stopped in here to grab a quick bite after spending all of my husbands money shopping in the plaza across the street. I actually selected this place being funny because she wouldn't choose a restaurant. We were both glad I did. They have a lot of different options here some heavy, some light. I chose the shrimp etoufee soup, I love shrimp etoufee but I've never had it as a soup. Lol I asked for a taste and OMG it was perfect! Now don't go expecting it to taste like New Orleans, but it was close enough to satisfy my taste buds. The customer service was really good. They were all really patient with everybody in line no matter how many different soups they asked to taste. This place is probably a real hit during the winter months.

Been interested in potentially looking into this franchise - however, I had never been. So I elected to give it a go and see how it was from a quality and operations perspective. The location was in a nice spot and very clean on the inside. Furthermore you were welcomed when you came, almost like "welcome to Moe's!" Which was great. from there if you haven't been they have 12 soups on hand, 6 that stay the same and 6 that rotate on a daily and seasonal basis. You're able to try as many or all of them before driving in on making a decision. From there they also have sandwiches and I elected to go with the half sandwich and soup - similar to Panera. The soup and bread and sandwich were fantastic. Quality bread and made quickly. Needless to say I'll be back...and potentially invest! Give it a go!

I herd about this place from a friend so one cold day decided to Have dinner here. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and felt welcomed. One of the nice workers explained to us how it worked and offered us as many samples as we would like. The soup was great, my friend ordered a soup in a bread bowl and my only complaint was it came on a styrofoam plate. The plate defiantly fid not fit the service or the soup and it just made things feel cheap.

So another chain has hit Virginia Beach. However, I must say after hitting them up tonight you will want to try them out because it was an impressive first visit. Located directly across from Landstown Commonons, I'm sorry if this area has a name I did not catch it. This is the newer development off of Princess Anne that popped up last Spring. You can clearly see it off of Princess Anne Rd. However, parking is around the other side. If you are of foot they do have an entry that faces the road. I knew nothing about the franchise, so total shocker. Great start with clean parking lot and sidewalks. Signage is excellent, you will not miss it. Attractive set upon approaching the door. You may be thinking Panera as I was, but you will find some stark differences. I found the dining room spacious with both table/chairs and booth seating. I arrived around 6 PM and there were few customers. Everything was clean and neat as it should be, they only opened in November. Drinks are self serve as well as busing your own table. Counter is to your left and line form on the far end. There is s middle dining room if your look for more privacy. Restrooms are in the rear. What often lacks at a chain is service and from the minute I opened the door I felt welcomed. Front end employee Walter said hello and immediately asked if I would like to sample one of their 12 soups. Oh yeah, well of course I would. They are serious about sampling with small cups and spoons provided. A few other employees were in the back. I asked if they were new and he said yes just this Fall. They are the second store to open in Virginia, the other being in Richmond. So I tried a few soups and settled on the Burger Cheeseburger Soup. It was thick and rich and perfect for a cold day. I moved onto options on side and combo's. There are around a dozen sandwich options you can do with soup sandwich/salad combo. Walter informed me that there are always 12 rotating soups...but the catch is two of their signature favorites...the Chicken Pot Pie and Lobster Bisque remain on all of the time. I decided on the 8 oz. side cup with a Maple, Bacon, Ham sandwich. I then learned I could upgrade the side cup to a 12 oz. Well realizing I did not have lunch today I thought that was prudent. There are also a few bread options and I elected to get the sourdough. Walter and staff were friendly through the entire process of sampling and recommendations of sandwiches. Before checking out they had a few cookie/brownie options that I resisted, but they looked good. Total was $10.12 and this is a no tip place. WOW, that is a bargain. When you number is up off the receipt you pick up at the counter in the front. It took less than 5 minutes and my order was up and served nicely on a tray with utensil and napkin. The soup was the correct temperature so that I could begin to eat. It was just as good, if not better than the sample. I enjoyed dipping my scrumptious and fresh sourdough bread in the bowl. The sandwich is rolled up tightly in a wrapper. Once unrolled it had a lot of grease from the ham and bacon, so I was unsure what I was in store for. That first bite, oh my how yum. The delicious meats and some special sauce was delicious. However, it was more greasy than I preferred by it was all good. A disappointment is that they do not have napkins out on tables or in a general area. I need more and by the time I sat down they had a line of people. Before departing I used the facilities and found them to be spic and span with proper supplies. I went back to the table and finished my water and continued to watch a good steady stream of customers come in the door. I observed the counter service was friendly offering samplings of the soup and not rushing for decision making. When they get busy there should be a separate employee assisting with samples and this was the case. I will be back, there is no doubt in my mind. This was a strong 4 visit and I recommend others giving them a try.

Pricey and not worth it. The soup was pretty meh (mostly just broth) and the sandwiches were small. Just go to Panera instead.

I'm a chef myself and travel to different restaurants regularly, so I try to be understanding. That said, the service we experienced yesterday at Stock Pot was unfortunately some of the worst I've had in quite a while. We sat outside, and it honestly felt like we were being deliberately ignored. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we had to wait long stretches just to get basic things. At one point near the end of our meal, we asked for a box and our check. Instead of bringing it over, the waitresses stood around talking with other waitresses, while we continued to wait. After sitting there for quite a while, we eventually had to ask for the check and box, a second time. Throughout the meal the service was inconsistent. We had three different waitresses checking on us, but were left to sit for about 30 minutes alone at one point, and it took almost 20 to have our order taken, once we ordered, we had to request our appetizer again, after waiting another 20 or so minutes. Upon asking, again, we found out they were out of part of the appetizer we ordered. After that it came out quick. The food, however, was excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. That's why this review is disappointing to write -- the kitchen is clearly doing a great job. I just hope the service side improves, because it didn't match the quality of the food.
