Haven't been to a Firehouse in almost 2 years and only would frequent the location instead the Norfolk Naval Exchange. So high standards are set. First thing I noticed was no greeting. The young lady didn't even look up, say hello or ask if we had any questions. I would have left on that and went to Melty near by but my daughter wanted Firehouse. She was the only one working so bravo to her. Our order did come out quick. I didn't realize how much Firehouse cost now - for 2 meals (mine was a small, daughters was a large) it was 35.47$ We both got the Steak and Cheese Sub. Food was good. They have a "Hot sauce bar" so I added some Maple Peach hot sauce to mine and it was pretty decent. Not a bad location but definitely needed some TLC and cleaning. They have gluten free bread!! It's a long cibatta style , not sub style but it's there and it's good! The guy that took my order changed his gloves and ensured allergen precautious were being taken which I really appreciated. He even changed his gloves to hand me my order. This Firehouse eatery is located in the Landstown Commons shopping area. The Italian and Meatball sandwiches were quite flavorful. The dressing mixes with the onions made the sandwich delicious. There usually a 10 minute wait or longer depending on the day of the week or time when ordering. There's no drive thru so take advantage of the limited parking spaces. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. We have always love the subs there. But after yesterdays 3 medium subs for $34.00 and they were the most pathetic subs I have ever ordered. They forgot stuff for the subs. Just a disappointing meal. Never will I ever Order from them again. The subs were sloppy soaking wet and falling apart and the meat and topping so little. Firehouse differentiates from the pack of sandwich places by toasting the bread and steaming the toppings. There's just something yummy about hot meat topped with melted cheese. I got the classic "Hook & Ladder" which comes with ham and turkey and Monterey Jack cheese. Of course, go "fully involved" which is their fireman's term for "all the way." Why not? I haven't been to too many Firehouse Subs, so I don't know if the awesome "hot sauce" bar is special to this place or is across the chain. A little Cholula drizzled on it for me, thanks. Yum! Sandwich was messy as all heck. Fortunately, all of it captured on the wax paper and a half dozen or so napkins. Delish! MMmmmmmm, I LOVE firehouse. Their subs are some of the bed fast food subs money can buy if you ask me (aside from mom and pop places). I love most of the stores in Landstown commons. I'm so glad I discovered this little shopping center so close to my house. They make the subs fresh when you order and toast them up for you. They have a pretty good selection of potato chips and last time I was inside they had a cool drink machine where you can pick all kinds of different drink options. The last time I was here they messed up my order because I said I wanted the sub as it came but extra mayo no mustard. Instead when I went to eat it (I took it to go but ended up deciding to eat it in Starbucks after getting a drink) it ONLY had mayo on it with the turkey. I was pissed. I'm glad I checked before driving off.... so I walked back and told them and they quickly made another and apologized. No harm done and the right one was yummy. read more

Firehouse is firehouse, no matter how you slice it. Same standard menu wherever you go. Which is a good thing in my book, that means they can't mess it up. Keep it up, I'll be back. Maybe next time I'll call ahead, there's normally a bit of a wait during lunch time hours. I normally get the brisket sandwich in a medium which I've proven, I never can finish. I had to comment about the experience here today at 11:30 am - the female manager on duty was rude and mean to the teenager workers. They were very understaffed considering a car show was taking place and the line continually out the door. She was rudely constantly fussing at them without a single positive remark for as hard as they were working - after 45 minutes, we had to leave. Favorite sub place, quality craftsmanship and great service! A kid friendly sub place. Love they they have muiltple tvs for different games, but kids are big football fans. I've never had a great experience at this location (especially long wait time, forgotten orders), but it had been 4 years since my last visit so I regrettably gave it another chance. My sandwich (hook & ladder) was soggy and had very little meat compared to what I normally receive from the Indian River location. The worst part, however, is the plastic bread bag tie that was found in my husband's sandwich. Thankfully, he opened it to add some sauce before biting into the sandwich and found the plastic piece right away. I'll include a photo and a piece of advice. Avoid this one. Would give zero stars if that was an option. Our dinner got messed up, so we decided to order Subs. Placed a mobile order and drove to pick up the food. Got there at 8 pm and they said they were closing early and they did not make our food. No one bothered to call us to save us the trip. Business hours said they were open until 9pm and the app allowed us to place our order. Apparently they closed early for Halloween. I've never heard of a restaurant closing early for Halloween. All these are in this same shopping center, or right across the street in the new area just built. So... I have tried all 3 of these sub places, and Firehouse Subs beats them all by far. Friendly atmosphere, new menu with nicer prices, and SUPERB subs! Order yourself an "Engineer" or similar sub and you will realize no other sub chain makes anything even close in comparison! Tuesday nights are great at Firehouse Subs. Kids eat free! You get two free kids meals with each adult meal you purchase. We can feed our family of six for less than $20.00. To top it off, they have "Dottie," the firehouse dog, to entertain the children on Tuesday nights as well. read more

I always enjoy my sandwiches from Firehouse; this store specifically. Typically I order online and they're always on time. The store is clean and the staff is incredibly generous. On a recent visit, I had the pleasure of chitchatting with Kyle and Preston. While my sandwiches were made, both staff members carried on a conversation with me as if they enjoyed every minute. Though I am highlighting those two, I have had the same experiences with just about all employees that I have encountered there. With a nice selection to choose from and an awesome fountain machine, I will continue to come to this particular store. I hope you enjoy your visit. It's a good place. If I'm gonna get a sandwich it's usually from firehouse. With entrances on both ends don't get caught up in parking out front. The people are nice and the place is clean. I like the selection of hot sauces to add to the sandwich. They do a great job here. read more

I have just recently been introduced to Firehouse... I will admit for once, I have to say my husband is right, this is way better than Subway! The Brisket is melt in your mouth good... I have been to this and the Indian River location and both places have great staff, Here, tonight it was pretty slammed, and even with that, I still got my food, quickly,, and correctly, and with a smile on their faces! Can't seem to get a simple order right. This is the third strike. Looks like Subway is my new go to sub shop.

Walking in you are greeted with a cheery hello. That makes a difference, it just feels like the right way to acknowledge a customer. Their subs are just flat out good! Their is plenty of meat and always seems to be the right mix of condiments to meat. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because they don't deliver. Yea, I know but if they delivered I would never order Jimmy Johns again. Period! Oh and how can you not love a place that has more hot sauce available than the hot sauce store a couple doors down? :) Tip: If you ever brine turkey, chicken etc. buy their pickle buckets. There are many other uses for a bucket in the garage as well. The best part is they "donate" the buckets; you pay $2 but that is 100% donated. read more
