    Pickled peppers and cheese pizza
    Sheena C.

I didn't realize a pizza flavor could speak to me as much as it did when we stopped in today. After ordering a slice of pickled peppers and cheese pizza and finishing it off, I made my partner get in line to order another. They take your order and reheat up the slice before bringing it to your table. I paired it with a bottle of local organic apple juice. I rarely have pregnancy cravings and I wouldn't call this so much a craving as a revelation, but this made my baby dance in the belly. Oxbow did their pizza right. In addition, most pizza places seem to treat the crust as an afterthought. I happily ate the crust on this one because they put in an aromatic hint of olive oil. Don't overlook it! Bravo Oxbow.

I love the versatility of this spot. They have bagels, they have pizza, they have bakery and espresso drinks, they have bread. It's also pretty affordable too relative to portions. The servers were friendly and helpful. The inside vibes were nice, as it felt very open with high ceilings and lots of natural lighting. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed inside but there is one little bench out front if you have your pup and want to eat there. Lots of folks got to go and walked it to the arboretum. The only negatives for me were the lack of vegan or dairy free options with the cream cheese and the fact that they stacked a meat pizza slice with my vegetarian slice without checking. We would definitely come back!

Generally I don't even like sandwiches. Oxbow's veggie sandwich was AMAZING- so flavorful and fresh. And sizable. At $14, it is a good deal for Seattle.

Oxbow is a hidden gem. The pizza is delicious and affordable at $5 a slice. I discovered a new kombucha in their fridge that is amazing and local (puget sound kombucha co) and lastly when I checked out they didn't flip the iPad on me and ask for a tip! Loved the vibes and food and I will definitely be back for jazz friday again soon!

This is a super cute cafe in Montlake with bagels and other baked goods. Their lemon poppy scone was great and they also have gluten free options which looked good. The coffee, however, just tasted like milk, and the hot chocolate was not sweet. However, some people like the more bittersweet chocolate flavor, so this might be for you if that's the case!

I went to this coffee shop with my husband and family and the shop itself is super cute and cozy with a lot of indoor seating. Allegedly this place is known for their pastry items which I did not try but they looked beautiful (see photos). What my husband and I did try however was a mocha and hot chocolate. Not good unfortunately. No whipcream either. The mocha just tasted like whole milk with no chocolate flavor at all and the hot chocolate was dark and had no flavor. I think you should order pastries and not chocolate drinks at this place. But for coffee I'd rather go to Starbucks than this because it was 7 dollars for each of our drinks which is crazy for the quality.

Salmon bagel, dry and hard to eat

My experience at Oxbow was a bit rough. I had their salmon bagel sandwich, which is my go-to benchmark order. Their core product--the bagel--was dramatically overbaked and thin. This made it into more of a cracker than a bagel. Additionally, they opt to use an awkwardly shaped lump of smoked salmon in the middle of the bagel vs. lox, contributing to an overall dryness and awkward eating experience. For a place that highlights their house-made bagels (you can watch the process through the window) , and even teaches classes on the topic, this product was surprisingly poor. It's not all bad, service was good and they appear to be locally popular and used as a gathering space. That said, I won't be back.

Cool and spacious spot to hang out and to get a coffee. The high ceilings give it a cool, expansive feeling. However, the food and service were just okay. I was disappointed in the food. We got a bagel, cheese knot, and pizza. All mediocre; all were kind of hard and dry. The pizza was a bit too crunchy and salty. Service wasn't the friendliest or the most welcoming, either. So I would just say, "meh", if I were asked about this place.

Pretty solid bagel spot. It was lively on a Sunday morning but the space inside is fairly large, so there's a good amount of seating. They offer sandwiches and other baked goods, but I went with a sesame bagel and plain cream cheese. It was pretty standard overall, but if you prefer bagels that are dense and chewy, you'll really enjoy this. I had mine toasted and loved the extra crispiness on the outside. Service was efficient and the overall experience was great.

Pizza by the slice, everything bagel and focaccia! Something for each one of us :)

We came here on MLK day around noon and it was packed! Don't be intimidated if there's a long line, it moves quickly! You order at the counter, find a table, and they call out your name with your food if they haven't already handed it to you when you order. We liked that this cafe has pastries, pizza by the slice (freshly baked after 12pm) and bagels, and they were all good! We especially loved how the pizza was crispy on the bottom even with it being a super thin crust. We were all happy with our food and agreed we would come back and try more things next time. Also, prices were very reasonable and gotta love easy free neighborhood street parking too. I'd recommend Oxbow for a casual breakfast, lunch or snack spot!

Hubby and I stopped at Oxbow around 2:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon. I've heard about this place and wanted to stop by to see what it was all about. It looked like the display case was picked over. We did manage to enjoy our sampling of pepperoni pizza with crisp crust, cheese knot, almond & date biscotti and an 8 oz. mocha. I liked that they had a variety of pizza slices available. Both the pizza and cheese knot were warmed up for us. Oxbow had a welcoming vibe, service was friendly and prompt, and we found parking out front. Hubby and I are enjoying trying new spots in new/different (than our) neighborhoods. We plan to stop by again, hopefully earlier in the day, so we can see the rest of what Oxbow offers.

I love this place! The environment is great. Very open and welcoming. I like how they have the bakery on one end and the beverages on the other. Eventually, I'd love to try their wine selection, but on a Sunday at 11 I decided to opt for the latte :P my bagel and my partners bagel were so delicious. Do I wish it was bigger? Yes, but I also walked away being full and satisfied! Can't beat that.

I feel like you gotta fight tooth and nail to get a good bagel in Seattle, and this spot is worth it. Very often a line out the door, but you'll never miss with a breakfast bagel here. Lox cream cheese + pickled onions is just how you win. There's a decent amount of seating even with the line out the door. Great bagel haunt

They have a switchback line in the street across from the restaurant as they don't want you blocking the sidewalks. Smart move. We really wanted to eat here, so on Sunday we arrived at around 8 am and there wasn't a line. We had the best breakfast. I ordered the egg, hash browns, and cheese. It was warm, soft, and filling. They have so many yummy options, but I settled on a mushroom and Gruyère pastry and an earl grey blueberry cruffin. The mushroom and Gruyère pastry was SO good!!! We ate it the day after and threw it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, and it was so delicious. The cruffin was huge! Topped with a delicious light Earl grey cream that wasn't too sweet. It was filled with a blueberry cream and was definitely very filling. There's a lot of sugar coating it, as is standard with cruffins, but it's a nice sweet treat. Staff: 5/5 (nice) Sanitation: 5/5 (clean) Soft serve w/syrups (5/5) I've had most of the syrups that they offer with their vanilla soft serve. The soft serve itself is a really creamy and rich vanilla milk flavor. I would say it's closer to that Asian milk flavor if you know what I mean. I think the hojicha syrup is my favorite out of all the ones I've tried so far. It has a really nice roasty flavor and not something you can find at most other places. The matcha I would say is my second favorite. The flavor of the matcha syrup is definitely lighter compared to the hojicha but still is a nice compliment to the soft serve. The black sesame would be the lowest on my list out of the, all since I felt like the flavor was too nutty like it was a blend of sesame and potentially a nut. Overall I would definitely go back for the hojicha but if you're not into that there's definitely solid options for other flavors.

Their patisserie is stronger than the pastries IMO and while I wouldn't wait in a crazy line, it's still lovely neighborhood spot and perhaps the pastries are a better texture earlier in the day. Highlights: - Miso Roasted White Chocolate Cronut: My favorite item in their current rotation. The cronut was a tad soggy, but the buttery texture inside is still satisfying and the miso white chocolate filling is lusciously smooth and perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. - Blackberry Corn Mousse Cake: Blueberry mousse is the perfect fluffy texture and the corn is very subtle. The sponge cake is light and perfectly contrasts against the bottom layer of crunchies to add a bit of variety. - Blueberry Corn Croissant: Pastry also held up quite well on this one with the outside still being quite crisp. The inner cream unlike the mousse cake is very corn forward with a bit of blueberry jam to balance it out. Skip: - Black Forest Cake: Found the cake to be a bit too firm with the cream filling to be a little bland and too firm as well. Just wanted this to be better than it was. Also, it looks totally different from the photo on their website heads up. - Tomato Basil Croissant: Just found this to be off ratio wise. The only tomato is the 3 small quarters of cherry tomato at the top and a light smear of basil cream. I can see this being very good, but current form factor isn't doing it any favors.
