Service is 10/10! Have to start there. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Low light on the inside so it gives an intimate vibes. Parking can be a challenge, especially on busy nights in the area. The menu has something for everyone and a nice selection of wines and drinks. The catfish strips are amazing. Breaded to perfection and the sauce that comes with it is a perfect match. Good for an evening after work, a night out with the family or a date night with your partner. Most items are also priced fairly. The location is in lake view and good location to walk to local bar or get ice cream from across the street.

Ambiance and service were great. Parking wasn't a hassle. Garlic bread: 10/10; best thing I put in my mouth; goes great with sauce from BBQ shrimp Half Roasted chicken: 9/10; was quite full before entrees, but this was quite tasty the following day. Heated in air fryer, and it was moist, tender, and flavorful. Skin was crispy. Cheesy grits: 9/10; these were creamy, cheesy, and tasty Red Fish: Have to follow up with my wife BBQ shrimp: 7/10; wasn't crazy about the shrimp, and didn't like the sourdough bread at all. Sauce was good, though Crab Rangoon dip: 7/10; wontons were light and crispy; dip was tangy, but I don't remember tasting crabmeat Fried ribs: 7/10; tender, juicy, nice crust, but meat needed more seasoning

We went during happy hour and had a very pleasant experience. I had the chicken fried steak with a jalapeño and tasso sauce that was great on a bed of cheese grits. They have a good line up of altered old fashioneds so that was exciting for me, it's one of my favorite classic cocktails. I could tell the grits got done too soon because they were a little too cool, but otherwise everything was great. Our server was very attentive and excited to have us sitting in our section with everyone else gravitating towards the bar during happy hour, so that was nice.

I decided to come here for my sisters birthday after seeing the dessert board that they call the celebration. It was the kind of extra i was looking for. We started with an appetizer. We got the crab Rangoon dip and it was pretty good. I really liked the chips that were made out of fried wonton wrappers. We got drinks. I don't remember what they were called but the cocktails are really good. For my meal I got a soup and the wasabi oyster Cesar salad. I didn't taste wasabi in the oysters but they were very tasty. My sister got red fish which was just ok. She said she would try something else next time. We ended with the celebration board. It was so cute and the individual desserts were so good. As 3 people we definitely couldn't eat that. We took the majority of it home. The service was average. And the ambiance was nice. Especially the outside area.

My friend made reservations for her bday. I had recently seen this place on IG. It looked like it could be a vibe. The menu looks great! I mean when reading the menu you can imagine eating everything. However the food was underwhelming at best. The service was weird as well. Our server seemed to be checked out a little bit. I had the lent special pasta sauce over angel hair pasta. It had potential no seasoning I had to add a lot of salt. I had the crab soup. So rich but no taste. The fried ribs were ok. No seasoning. The onion rings were the bomb. Even my coke was flat ..... Idk if I would go back

The service here is TOP TIER! I went here on a whim with a friend for brunch and it did not disappoint. I was studying afterwards but i would have loved to try their drinks as they had SO many different ones. We split a tuna melt & a surf & turf and they were both delicious! Tuna melt was for sure my favorite one. A great shareable would be the crab Rangoon dip! For sureeee also recommend the onion rings so good

First time trying Outpost 45 and it was a treat. Once Mondo closed (another fav) I didn't add this venue to my list, but so happy I finally tried them. I was pleasantly surprised. Tried several appetizers and a bottle of Meiomi for the evening and it was truly worth it. There is also a great happy hour during the week, drink specials so I will definitely be back to try more. I love the bar area and vibe of the restaurant. The staff was super friendly and service was on point. I tried the crab wonton dip, debris fries, onion rings and ribs - all so good. There are a few more I'll try out when I go back. Next I want to try the mufalatta eggrolls - they looked so yummy. Menu items: Crab Rangoon Ribs

Followed this place on Instagram for a while, and decided to try it out with my cousins. We made reservations online for a Saturday Brunch. My cousin has a nut and a fish allergy, so she put that in the notes for the reservation. Once we arrived we were seated quickly at a booth. It wasn't crowded that day, but I'd still say make reservations just in case. Our waitress was nice and attentive. She mentioned that she saw a fish and nut allergy in the reservation so she asked who was allergic so she could make sure to tell the kitchen when putting in the dishes. I was thoroughly impressed when she said that. Two of my cousins ordered the hangover bowl, I ordered the outpost grit cakes with an order of scrambled eggs, and my other cousin ordered the salmon. I also ordered the Trainwreck (I think this was the name, I just know it had pineapple and coconut in it). Food didn't take too long to come out and it was all hot (which I was grateful for because I don't like warm food). I enjoyed my food, but I think my eggs were a little over cooked as you can see the brown spots on it. My cousins who had the bowl said that they were surprised with how much meat was in, but they wish it would've had some more potatoes rather than the extra meat. My other cousin enjoyed her salmon as well. We went in January so it was kind of chilly outside, but I'd definitely go back in the spring or fall so I could sit outside, since they have a lot of outdoor seating. Also, looking forward to visiting them for dinner, as there are some other items I'd like to try. Food was good and so were the prices.

I went here for a late lunch for a friend's birthday. The menu is a decent size and some has some standard brunch fare, but we got the crab rangoon dip which was very good! There are lots of fun cocktails on the menu and I ended up with a strawberry/gin concoction. The hangover bowl was huge and perfect whether you're hungover or not. We went during a Saints game, but we were seated immediately. We were seated near a semi-private area that was occupied by a party. They were kind of loud, but if we weren't next to them, then it would have been decent level of noise. It's a good spot to keep in mind when you need something different than your regular spots.

Another birthday celebration with the family! We had a reservation for 11, and were nicely accommodated in an area slightly away from everyone else. As soon as our full party arrived, we were quickly seated. In the meantime, we ordered drinks from the bar trying to take advantage of the last minute happy hour specials. The waitress was attentive and patient. We ordered and food came out relativity quickly to say it was a Friday night and the restaurant was packed. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the waitress was a bit challenged with meeting our expectations and understanding our request Jen it came to settling the bill. We worked it out amongst ourselves but we had to explain what we needed a few times to her. I'll definitely go back.

First timer here during happy hour. Nice bar area and we ordered drinks, awesome, the food not so much. The food was kind of bland and "old tasting" but the Bar tender was really nice! And it wasn't her fault, but the food could've been better in my opinion.

This place is adorable. It has outdoor seating with astroturf to give you the feel of sitting in a garden and indoors is dimly lit and comfortable. They have metal shelving hanging above the bar with the extra alcohol bottles, which I loved, because you can see what they have at a glance. We started off with the orange julius margaritas, which did remjnd me of orange julius at the mall, just needs a tiny bit more orange flavor. My friend tore up the orange slice garnish and muddled it into the drink. My friend had the she crab soup and I had to taste it. It was amazing! I will go back for this next time. So good! My meal was the fillmore scramble (eggs with tomatoes, scallions, shitake mushrooms, spinach and feta), spict cheesy grits and a biscuit. It was super tasty. I did have to ask for butter and jelly for my biscuit, which seemed weird, because no one I know eats a biscuit with nothing on it. We shared the bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream and it was also wonderful. Most of the staff came over at some point and had a chat with us, which I enjoyed. They do have a mimosa flight, which looked pretty good too.

The place looks really good! The ambiance is so cute! You sort of feel like you're on a ranch but throw a splash of Hollywood in there. Had the hangover bowl as my meal, but it was lacking in flavor. I also believe the brisket was overcooked. A few of the potatoes were hard and undercooked as well. The grits had a good flavor though. The drinks were perfect! I had the Orange Julius Margarita, which really brought back childhood memories of having Orange Juliuses. I also had the Violet Beauregarde, which was a nice blend of tequila, blueberry, and taste!

From the moment we sat down, the staff set the tone--professional, genuinely friendly, and impressively efficient. We began with a trio of starters that showcased both richness and restraint. The foie gras torchon was silky and indulgent, perfectly complemented by fruit confiture and warm, toasted Bellegarde Bakery bread--a classic pairing done right. Marinated crab claws, dressed in a lively chili vinaigrette, delivered a bright, briny punch, while the pickled pineapple and jalapeño chips added just the right balance of sweetness and heat. A cucumber salad rounded out the starters, crisp and refreshing, acting as a welcome palate reset before the mains. For entrées, comfort and finesse shared the plate. The confit chicken thighs were meltingly tender, paired with ham-braised greens swimming in a tangy apple cider vinegar broth. A lovely Dijon cream tied everything together, adding richness without overwhelming the dish. Equally memorable was the half smoked duck, beautifully executed and deeply flavorful, served over a smooth pumpkin-sweet potato purée. The cherry bourbon glaze brought a subtle sweetness, while the pepitas added texture and a nutty finish. Dessert was the perfect exclamation point on an already wonderful meal: a slice of hot chocolate cheesecake, decadent and deeply chocolaty, crowned with toasted marshmallow fluff that leaned just enough into nostalgia without crossing into excess. Toups Meatery continues to deliver thoughtful, soulful cooking with polish and heart--comfort food elevated, served by a team that clearly knows what they're doing. My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!

We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

We also got the crawfish spaghetti special, which was loaded up with crawfish tails, and also slices of garlic, onion, and calabrian chili oil which gave a nice spice without making the dish heavy.
