This place is my guilty pleasure. I have yet to try a donut I didn't like and the big bird breakfast biscuit is soooo good. The turkey sausage gravy is everything. The coffee is good too but that frozen Vietnamese coffee is dangerous I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin.
Honestly my fav District location. Love how the barista always recommends smth I'll enjoy and caters to my taste. I do not like sweet drinks. Great service. Cool space indoor and small courtyard area.
Very good donuts and cinammon rolls. Ordered a delivery box with banana pudding filled, chocolate peanut butter filled and a strawberry shortcake cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll positively surprised me, as it was moist throughout, had a nice balance of cinnamon and sugar, and stood up well on its own even without the cream and strawberry toppings included on the side. Both donuts featured delicious, non artificial tasting fillings. The banana cream was a bit light but solid and the peanut butter cream in the Chocolate-PB donut hit the mark perfectly. Why no 5 stars? Well, unfortunately, DD's donuts suffer from the same problem of many other donut shops who craft large sized, filled specimens- the unfilled exterior portions dry out and you get too many bites with no filling. Fortunately, the filling quality here is superior to many other spots, but I sure wish that either the size was reduced to 3/4 or 1/2, or more filling was added to make for a perfect dough to filling ratio.
If you came to NOLA for indulgence, if you came for sweet and savory, if you came to busst, if you came unburdened of concerns of cholesterol and fat, searching for flavors that tantalize your palette, then here's where you'll need to stop. First off, that honey butta hot chicken sandwich is so delicious. The spice and sweet and the butta is so rich and leaves a long lasting impression. That is the bite you'll be thinking about and returning for. But don't sleep on the donuts either! Normally I'm not huge on donuts but that lil peanut butta cup donut with the whipped peanut mouse and chocolate ganache...yeah ima need that. It's perfectly balanced with the bitter chocolate ganache, and the light mouse. Obviously, after you're eating all this, you're gonna need something to wash it down. They have an excellent selection of coffee and teas, I enjoyed their chai latte, which wasn't too sweet for my pallet. After I thought I couldn't eat anymore, the chicory ice cream spoke to me so I had to answer. Stopping here made for a perfect day of indulgence than walking up and down magazine Street and shopping. The staff here is so nice too! They let us come hang out back here after we were done shopping and needed to rest for a bit. Which was nice because this place has a decent amount of seating and a little patio in the back and some seats out front. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody. Who's in town in New Orleans!
The staff is very friendly. I tried an Affogato which was delightful. I couldn't pass up the chicken biscuit, and I'm glad I didn't. The chicken was perfectly crispy with juicy meat inside, while the biscuit was buttery, fluffy, and sturdy enough to hold everything together. The sauce added just the right amount of flavor without overpowering it. Simple, satisfying, and definitely something I'd order again.

I'm happy to say yes they seemed to have everything in order. We purchased a couple of kolaches and they did not disappoint. The service was very pleasant and always loved the decors simple open plan. It gives off a welcoming vibe and you can even watch everything being prepared behind the counter.

We were not expecting to find our meal at district the best we had while in New Orleans. First of all, the brussel sprouts are unreal and something we craved the whole 4 days we spent in New Orleans. Whatever sweetness they add to them, was fantastic! I ordered the ranchero burger and it was cooked to perfection! It was slightly spicy but so savory and filling! My hubby ordered the rooster and cleaned his plate! The Thai tea drink was a bit too sweet, as they make it with condensed milk, so if that's your thing, you'll love it! Lavendar latte impressed me and the shot was not bitter! We ordered donuts to go and they were great! Do not sleep on District!
I'm upset with myself for waiting so long to try this place but better late than never. Employees were very nice and happy to tell me about the food seeing that it was my first visit. The restaurant is cozy and open so you can see them get your order together, I like that! Everything on the menu looks amazing but I had to have the infamous Hot Chicken & Honey Butter Biscuit and I ordered donuts to go. My order came out quickly and she was nice enough to hold my to go order until I got ready to leave. That chicken biscuit is Everything they said, buttery with a bit of sweet heat all soaking and oozing down that delicious biscuit! Good thing I don't live closer because that could be a problem for me! I was afraid that the donuts would not travel well but they were delicious!! I can't believe how good the donuts were!! Now I'm spoiled, I can no longer eat a mediocre donut.
Seated right away, and my server was sweet and funny! The ambience gives modern hipster with lots of window lighting and blues and grays. Came for the donuts but got the hot chicken and butter biscuit which was soooo good. The chicken was tender but crunchy, the biscuit was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the flavor was sweet with a hint of spice! We also got the crème brûlée cinnamon roll which was very sweet so I suggest maybe getting that for a sweet treat and not just for breakfast if you aren't too into sweets.

We got here around noon, so the donut selection was slimmer than I'm sure it was earlier in the day! I got a blueberry cheesecake donut. It was really good. We also got one of the hot chicken and honey butter french toast biscuits to share. We all enjoyed that too. I love a fancy donut, so when I get the opportunity I will always be sure to stop at a specialty local shop.

One of the best coffee shops in the Garden District! The crew at this location is phenomenal. Even the one time my order was made incorrectly, they fixed it immediately and offered me free cookies. My go-to order is a vanilla iced latte with caramel and a chocolate chip cookie. They literally have the best chocolate chip cookies in New Orleans--put your money up and argue with someone else! I always stop by on my lunch break, and the service is consistently excellent. Great job, District/Magazine team!

We came for breakfast on a Friday morning and there was plenty of seating. Ordering at the counter is quick! The food was great, I had the brisket boudin breakfast bowl and an iced chicory coffee, and everything in the bowl tasted so fresh. To finish, I had their nectar cream donut, which was huge and not too sweet. This is our second trip, and we're already planning our next visit whenever we're back in New Orleans. read more
Pleasantly surprised and lives up to the hype. The French toast biscuit was unique and delicious. The donuts are best if you can get them super fresh. The glazed donut was amazing because it was warm. The chocolate frosted was good but not great - the bottom isn't glazed and it was dense. We had the Ranch bird chicken sandwich and it was SO good. I can't stop thinking about it. I wish we had a District Donuts in Austin! The crispy Brussels sprouts were so tasty and fresh. We tried the Bananas fosters donut and the lemon raspberry. The Bananas foster was amazing! 10/10. Not too sweet and a perfect balance of flavors. The lemon raspberry was good, if you like a tangy lemon flavor you'll love this one. read more

Made a loooong treck by foot at 8am in the morning, just for the Insta-viral hot chicken & honey butter biscuit sandwich. Was one of the first customers of the day. Lovely staff. Friendly and accommodating. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Casual eatery vibes. Got the hot chicken & honey butter biscuit sandwich to go, but ended up eating it at the outdoor patio. This was an example of how you cannot trust Instagram. The biscuit was tasty--buttery and filling. The fried chicken was disappointing. Not only was the piece tiny, it was not crispy or flavorful. Pretty bland. Not enough sauce or seasoning. I like my food flavorful and messy, so I was very sad that my sandwich barely had any of that delicious butter. Overall, a waste of $11. Bland, small sandwich. Chicken was a let down. Biscuit was good. Maybe try other items on the menu. read more
Today, we were exploring outside the French Quarter in NOLA! So much more to NOLA than the French Quarter. Down in the Freret area, we found beautiful homes, nice cafes, and boutiques.. We decided on District Donuts. So many donuts to choose from. I love key lime pie, so I tried their key lime donut. My wife got the cinnamon roll. They both were served fast, and our iced latte took less than a few minutes. Their coffee was really good. The donuts and roll were so soft. The cinnamon roll melted in our mouth. Not too sweet but just enough!!! The key lime donut was soft and fresh.... And the frosting kind of tasted like lime, but in no way tasted like key lime. Didn't finish it. It was terrible, just bland and not what I expected. Overall, their customer service is fantastic, prices are decent, cinnamon roll was outstanding.... But pass on the key lime donut. I came for the chicken sandwich and it didn't disappoint. It was really flavorful and the biscuit. There wasn't a long wait for ordering nor the food. Also ordered some donuts. Wasn't a fan of the glazed. It was dry and thick/bready. I kind of played over it. Not sure if it was out for a while or not fresh. That's how it tasted. The cinnamon roll donut was good. The restaurant itself was a nice size. It was a decent amount of seating and I believe it was an outside area in the back but I didn't walk that way to verify. Saw other patrons walking that way. God damn it -- I've been baited, switched, duped -- whatever you want to call it -- again! Those doughnuts-turned-Monte Cristo sandwiches I saw plastered all over Yelp had me absolutely Jonesing for our last meal before leaving NOLA. But OF COURSE, when I confidently ordered it, the gal at the counter looked at me like I had three heads. "Nope, not on the menu." Seriously?? So, time for a pivot. I went for the breakfast biscuit with egg, candied bacon, and cheese. It was... fine. I'm a gal who LOVES a good biscuit and considers herself somewhat of a connoisseur. I prefer those perfectly layered, cut-style biscuits -- you know, flaky and buttery perfection -- but of course, this was the freeform drop biscuit type. More scone than biscuit. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the bacon was a little burned -- probably because of the sugar coating. Hubby's breakfast taco was better than mine, annoyingly so. The bacon was actually chorizo, maybe? Either way, it was flavorful and way better than my sad biscuit situation. Moral of the story: don't believe everything you see on Yelp -- and maybe just order the taco next time. read more

I saw the hot chicken & honey butter biscuit on Instagram, and when I passed by here I had to stop and try it. The staff was super nice and accommodating, they even warned me that the biscuit could be a little spicy for some people. The seating area was pretty open and cozy. The chicken was really tasty, and the biscuit was very crisp and absolutely delicious! I will say that this is suuuuper buttery, so just be prepared for that. As for the spice level, it's nothing crazy to me, but my sister did say there was a kick to it. read more

I was so excited to try this place and babyyyyy I must say that hot chicken and French toast biscuit hit the spot!! Omg it was so good and freshly made!! Be prepared to wait in line but they were fast getting the stuff out! It's def worth the wait! They have so many savory and sweet options to choose from! I will def be back! read more
One of my go to always in my second home NOLA. Biscuits are flaky and so good. I always manage to say I'm not getting a doughnut but do. This time the corn one (I know it sounds weird) but was sooooo amazing! They are always super friendly and quick. Ambiance is chill with multiple places to sit. read more

The staff was super friendly! She was generous in allowing our group to try the ice creams but we decided on splitting some of the donuts instead. The Vietnamese iced coffee was delish! The individuals who ordered tea had lukewarm water so that was not great. The donuts are hefty but tasty. We loved the cinnamon roll donut but I wasn't a huge fan of the others that we chose (best to worst: cornucopia, sweet potato casserole, glazed). The donut was soft and moist with a unique flavor and liked that they weren't too sweet either! The novelty from how they picture was more enjoyable than the taste. The inside dining is spacious. This was my first time going to District Donuts. They don't have a dedicated parking area but street parking is plentiful enough. It's a really tiny place and there was only one woman working. She was great! We all ordered a coffee and a biscuit. We broke our parties into two groups so the second group did have to wait to order since she was making our biscuit sandwiches but it was no big deal. Just something to consider! My biggest problem with this location was that the entrance door will hit you if this place is full. It swings in and hits a pretty awkward place in the space. The coffee was SO GOOD. I really enjoyed it. Now the biscuits were even better! I got the biscuit with havarti cheese and an egg cup. The biscuit is so buttery and wonderfully crumbly. The Hot Chicken and Honey French toast biscuit tasted like a bite of heaven. The Smoked Gouda Grits was the perfect combination of grits and cheese. Service was professional and fast! The ambiance was fun, clean the music was not too loud but at a great level. read more

Districts is consistently great for donuts. My preference is for the filled donuts which I think are the best and superior to any other options in New Orleans. The options change daily so it's advantageous to check their Instagram account to see what's available. My favorites by far are the Blueberry Cheesecake and the Beignet donuts. They also have other options for food but the donuts are where it's at for me. The atmosphere is typically bustling as the restaurant is typically pretty busy, but it's endearing. There is seating both inside and in the front and back of the restaurant in a small courtyard. The staff are always super friendly so great for a morning breakfast or sweet treat. =) read more
Holy moly, you MUST get the hot honey fried chicken french toast biscuit, $9. It's what dreams are made of. Perfectly fried chicken, a melted honey butter on a French toast biscuit. Wow, we split it and wished we got our own. The donuts when I visited were more Easter themed, many of them with marshmallow filling. I went with the King cake donut. It was topped with pretty pink, yellow and purple sprinkles. I thought the fillings would just be vanilla but it had cardamom and cinnamon too. The filling was colored with a fun bright blue. We were definitely impressed with the new edition of food items, when we visited years ago it was just donuts. You have to visit if you're in Nola, you won't regret it!! read more

We ordered - iced mocha and iced Vietnamese coffee. Coffee was good. - had many choices of donuts. We tried the peanut butter chocolate donut. Loved the peanutty filling. - also got a scramble egg, cheese and bacon biscuit sandwich. It was good too. Bf liked how the egg was made in this sandwich. - added hash browns after our friends bought some and we tried it. This place was great. We loved the food.
