I loved the chicken and beignets. The chicken was friend to perfection and the glaze on the beignets was so delectable! It is a carry out location but the employees are so nice and explained the menu to my party and the patrons after me. The whole locations smells like grandma's so good times for me. We will be back for the red velvet donuts!

I ordered a breakfast melt with bacon, grits with shredded cheddar, and a honey butter biscuit. The breakfast melt was a bacon, egg, and cheese on thick Texas toast griddled in butter. The grits were also super cheesy, but I found them a little lumpy and wanting for salt. The portions were so generous I couldn't get to the biscuit.

I tried the chicken and waffles. It's chicken, wings and flaps, just average. The apple fritter was very large , tasty however, it was also extremely greasy. The rice hash had a very funny taste to it. The rice was way overcooked it was almost mushy. However, the potato hash and the grits were good.

I've had the buttermilk drops and donuts from The Buttermilk Drop many time; but today I took the boys in for breakfast. This was such a wonderful start to our day! Of course the food was great; but the service truly takes the cake. The warm, friendly atmosphere was just what we needed before baseball practice. 10/10. Keep up the great work...

They were so nice and the buttermilk drops were so good. It was so hard to stop eating them. The lemon and the chocolate glaze were good but the original glazed was my favorite.

Visiting new Orleans and looking for good local food. Found and went in at 10 am on a Saturday. Line not long but consistent as this is a popular place. Reasonable prices and workers are friendly and nice. No indoor seating so got it to go. Seafood grits breakfast was delicious and a lot of food. My friend got Louisiana omelet and said it was good. Saw the chicken and waffles that included 5 pieces looked great but didn't try it. I also had the beignet with icing and pecans. It was 4 pieces and decadent. I would recommend this place but go early. By 10 they were out of bacon and hash browns but sausage and tater tots more than filled in. 4 + stars

This is a top two donut shop in New Orleans. I will go here specifically for a buttermilk drop and one of their apple fritters, which is easily the best apple fritter in the city. Service is great and staff is always welcoming. Coming here on a weekend will continue to be a tradition of mine. Plus, the pricing really cannot be beat!

For a hearty breakfast, go to this takeout-only, no-frills bakery inside a bare space. The people who create and sell the food are friendly and patient. From chicken and waffles to coffee, they have it all. I ordered a bag of $12 buttermilk donut holes for $2.50. The donut holes were sweet and large. They take credit cards.

Pretty close to the famous McKenzie buttermilk drops of old. Wasn't disappointed at all.

If I were rating atmosphere alone- 3 stars would be generous…read more I am rating product and service because adding "ambiance", would do those who work here and their product a disservice. It takes a while to get your order because of low staffing. That said, when you get it of course it's beautiful and tastes great. Sitting just around the corner from Bourbon St. and the hustle and bustle energy that you walk thorough to get here- walking in was disappointing. It's a large open space with seating- and it's QUIET. No background music. It gives late night diner vibes and honestly, that's too bad. Adding music, upbeat- doesn't have to sound like a club but music and having more energy between staff and customers would greatly improve the experience and I believe, increase business. If there were some Fats Domino or 90s R&B flowing out of speakers and staff were smiling, upbeat, dancing etc. it would give more "legendary" experience verses midnight diner vibe. That alone made me not want to come back. Not everyone wants to drink alcohol so stopping to sit for a well made artistic milkshake is a great option. The energy brings down the vibe and experience. Match the ambiance, service and vibe to your menu and 5 stars all day.

This is a cute little place in the French Quarter that I feel is typically woefully understaffed…read morefor what they provide. The staff is always nice, but I feel that they are always so stressed to get the product out. The shakes are so overpriced. The small size is $1 less than twice the size. Now, you can share these delicious shakes with a friend or loved one (either size) but with tip, you're still spending $20 on one shake. Because the shakes are so elaborate and intricate, you're going to wait about 15-20 minutes per shake, even if you're the only ones there. I would love to give them more stars because it is such a delicious experience, but only have one to two people working is a very hard line to draw if you want customers to be patient/happy.

I finally got to try the iconic Cafe du Monde and it definitely lived up to the hype!…read more This place is always packed, but I can totally see why. The beignets were soooo good. It was my first time ever trying beignets, and they absolutely met my expectations. We waited about 10 minutes in line, which honestly wasn't bad at all. We ordered a bag of the traditional beignets and some chocolate milk. We also got lucky and found a table pretty quickly. The beignets were fresh, warm, and covered in powdered sugar. Simple, but so yummy. I'm so happy I finally got to cross this place off my bucket list!

I had the chance to come back to the city last weekend, when a good friend from my Italy days was in town for a conference. I was able to meet her to explore the city for a day, and we of course had to make room for beignets and Cafe du Monde. We almost settled for one of the locations at an indoor mall, but we stuck out a 20-30 min walk from where we were to make it to the original at the French Quarter. Since it was just two of us, we were able to get seated pretty quickly even though there was an expected Saturday morning line. I am also glad my friend had cash because they STILL only accept cash for payment. No credit cards, which is wild at any US establishment nowadays. We also tried to only order one plate of beignets (come in a set of 3) and one coffee each but the server came back with two beignet plates and coffees. $20 with tax included! The beignets themselves were scrumptious, warm, and delicious ofcourse. So I suppose worth any inconvenience that we may have experienced. However, the tables are left incredibly messy. It is true that our server did wipe off our table before we sat down but it is embarrassing to see patrons create such a mess to begin with.
