Crack'D Brunch was a solid Friday brunch spot. We came in around 10 AM with a party of 7 and were seated quickly. It was already pretty lively, but the restaurant is comfortable, spacious, and really well decorated. Our table covered a good chunk of the menu: seafood omelette, catfish sandwich, chicken & waffles, blue crab rangoon, blueberry muffin, and I had the Mac Daddy mac & cheese with fried crawfish. Everybody was happy with their food. We skipped the liquor, but the sweet tea was great. My only issue with my meal was the fried crawfish came covered in buffalo sauce, which I don't remember seeing mentioned on the menu. I didn't feel like sending it back and it was FINE, but I would've enjoyed it way more without the buffalo sauce. My friend specifically told me I had to mention the blueberry muffin She loved that it was organic and said you could tell the blueberries were actually fresh. Service was just okay. Kelsey wasn't rude at all, but she wasn't particularly friendly or engaging either. Maybe the automatic 20% gratuity has something to do with that, maybe not. When I arrived I was told there was a 45 minute wait. 1 hour and 10 minutes passed so I decided to go inside and ask about the wait time. After I asked, the hostess was able to immediately seat me. What I found odd was, 30 minutes past after I was seated, and I received a notification that my table was ready, which leads me to believe staff doesn't keep track of the waitlist, so if you plan to eat there, I suggest just waiting at the restaurant for quicker service. The atmosphere is fairly average, for a brunch restaurant, the presentation of some of their dishes is unique. The food, the smoked salmon rosti was delicious, however the crab cake benedict was fairly bland and the flavors in the dish did not complement each other which tasted fairly curious. Some restaurants can be a bit weird about solo diners, but the staff here was great about my table of one! I started with the crab cake appetizer, which comes with two good-size cakes. For my main, I got the farmers platter. They serve merguez (lamb) sausage and duck bacon, which is delicious, but if lamb and duck aren't your thing - be warned! This was my second experience dining at Crack'D, and it was disappointing. We were seated 35 minutes after our reservation time. We had to keep returning to the hostess stand to ask if our table was ready, what's the point of using OpenTable for a reservation if the automated notification feature isn't utilized? Once we were seated, we were quickly greeted by our server Kelsey, and our drinks and starters of monkey bread and crab rangoon, both were served hot and delicious arrived promptly. The service took a downturn when Kelsey, legit disappeared on us. It took 40 minutes to place our order, then another hour and half wait for our food, while dirty plates and empty glasses piled up on the table. When the food finally arrived, it was luke warm and not fresh, except for one friend's dish, which was hot. Our table ordered a seafood omelette, two steak and eggs( one returned back to the kitchen as the steak burnt), a chicken sandwich, and the chicken and waffles. With "large party" gratuity included (when did a party of five qualify as a large group?), our waitress had little motivation to offer better service, even with our almost $300 bill and a $42 tip that felt undeserved. read more

The family of four sitting near the window received their food, but one dish was missing. And they were waiting. They waited so long, they ended up getting the dish to go. The father did wave over one of the owners/managers. Here's the kicker. About 15 minutes later, a couple was seated next to us. When they ordered their food, the server told us our food would be up soon. But the couple got their food first! They felt bad! And then ours came out a few minutes later. The Dubai waffle was beautiful...but cold, like it had been sitting in the window for a while. I wondered if we had ordered the kid's size brisket skillet...small and "where's the beef?" What could've been a great breakfast was just wrong on so many levels! Sure, I could've said something, but I shouldn't have to. We were right in front. Decided to go here for my aunt's bridal brunch. I've heard of it before and thought it'd be somewhere nice to go. I made reservations online Thursday night for Saturday afternoon. I received text reminders about our reservation and we received a text saying our table was ready 5 mins before our reservation which was nice. Once we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly host and he showed us to our seats. The decor is really cute and the music they played was nice. Our table ordered a few different things. We ordered the bacon tower, grits, brisket hash skillets, seafood omelets, and one chicken and waffle plate. Cocktails ordered were the slow down relax and the lemon berry vodka slush. For some reason the slush wasn't on the menu, but I saw the machines behind the counter and asked our waiter about it. I think if it was listed on the menu, or even on a little card on each table(like people have to display happy hour menus) more people would order it. My aunt was surprised when I received it and was like I didn't see that on the menu, I probably would've ordered one. It tasted pretty good to me, but was kind of on the higher side as it was $17 and the cup was small in my opinion. The brisket hash skillet was okay, but I felt like it was dry. The brisket wasn't juicy but pretty crispy. It needed a salsa or some kind of sauce to go on it. I asked my waiter and he said they didn't have any salsa or sauce for it, but that there was some kind of crawfish sauce I could get. I ordered that and it helped the skillet. However it was $5 and the sauce cup was really small. My aunt enjoyed her chicken and waffles and my other aunts enjoyed the omelets. Bacon was nice and crispy but did have a little kick/spice as it had red pepper flakes on it. My aunt said grits were okay but got stiff pretty quick. I will preface this by saying I believe the management is 100% at fault for the issues described. We waited for an hour for our food, which was not the best flavor-wise. We rarely saw our server, and when we did, he was loudly criticizing the problems he was having with his team and cursing right next to us. When we were seated, we ordered everything upfront as to avoid delays, but did not get our food until 45 minutes later. Our coffee sat at the bar and became watery from the ice and its overall quality was not good. We also got told at the very end that our banana foster toast was unavailable, despite ordering it an hour prior and not being told this then. Side note, when we order this we expressed that one of us had a tree nut allergy, but our server was initially stubborn to remove the nuts from the dish before settling on omitting it. The restaurant was too packed and too busy for the staff that was onsite, and better management could have prevented the issues that were also present outside of our dining experience. Tables of four were seated at smaller tables for two, causing dropped cups and broken glass. I rarely ever have a bad experience when dining, but this was perhaps the worst experience I've ever had. So, we decided to show up as a walk-in at an earlier time. Fortunately a high-table opened up after only a 15 min wait. So, I cancelled the later reservation. The vibes were good. The staff person who tended to our table, Assata, was very cool. She was friendly, had good vibes and also had good food recommendations. On this visit I ordered the seafood omelet. Never needed a reservation during the week but Im sure weekends are a different story. This last visit I tried the hot honey chicken sandwich. Crack'D was such a fun spot to eat lunch at and very trendy. It did get a little confusing to find the entrance, but one of the helpful employees saw that we were lost and guided us to the door. I will say there was a strange strong smell of incense when we came in, but it faded after about 15 minutes or so. There's a good amount of seating available as well as two single stall bathrooms and a bar. We didn't have reservations, but we had no issues getting a table on a Tuesday. I ordered the seafood gumbo and the house salad. I actually loved the gumbo and considered it tied for 1st with another place for my favorite gumbo during my NOLA trip. They did take it off the bill, but they should take that off the menu and not assume the waiter/waitress is going to remember to tell the customers. We made reservations a few weeks ago for a group of 12.
