Easily the WORST experience lately, okay, I know it's outback. But with no more than 4 people at the bar ( don't judge, I'm single and hate taking up a table by myself) the service was horrible. Bartenders not paying any attention to guests, no drink refill, had to wait until someone walked to the end of the bar for anything. My empty drink glass and dirty dishes sat on the edge of the bar for 14 minutes. Got a to go box, waited 24 minutes for my check. Really a darn good shout out to Outback in St Augustine! Hubby is going in for knee replacement surgery and needs to put some weight on. They have some new menu products & I read some good reviews, so thought we'd give them a try. Place was super clean, and the hostess opened the door for us-nice ! We sat at a booth at the bar. Steven was an excellent bartender and server. He gave us excellent recommendations. We got the triple appetizer, filet with chimechurri sauce and I had the salmon. We were there Wed, last week, sat at a booth in the bar. Stephanie was our server. We come on Wed because she's working, as we know we'll always have great service. Blooming onion was very well drained with no gooey uncooked breading. Yum! Salads in the new bowls were great, and a lil bigger than salads on previous visit, a real treat for me!!! Like to go to Outback every now and then. The waitress let us know on Tuesday they had a lobster, steak and 2 side special for $24.99. Very good value! Steak & Lobster Cesar salad and fries very good. We ordered a blooming onion $10.99 great price that was very greasy and could not eat a quarter of it. It was all of the onions on the bottom of the bloomin onion. The part of the onion that wasn't greasy was good. The other problem I had they give you a very small dip for the onion. I asked for a second one and still wasn't enough. Barely any sauce. My wife liked the shrimp pasta always orders it. The 4 tall Fosters we had with cold frosted mugs were excellent. Ordered the prime rib Outback Style and honestly, it was a joke. Came out completely overcooked, dry, and chewy--prime rib isn't even supposed to be grilled like that, so why ruin it with this "Outback Style" gimmick? It tasted like they took a good cut of meat and burned it into a pot roast. Zero flavor, zero juice, just a waste of money. If this is their idea of steakhouse quality, I'd rather hit a gas station microwave dinner. Outback should be embarrassed serving this. read more

Service was awesome! Everyone was so kind and courteous. My only issue was the meals were expensive and literally no food! I ordered the 6oz Sirloin + Shrimp for $23.49 or so and I had 4 of the scrawniest shrimp. On the flip, my sirloin was good. Side was a cup of potato soup (smallest cup ever ) and mashed potatoes. Husband had the new entree chimichurri steak barely any meat and his came with two side total was $29.99 . Not worth it for the quantity of food. We were in the area so we decided to stop in. For apps, we got a bowl of chili and the Seared Pepper Ahi. The Ahi is my favorite and was as good as I remember. I think the bed of cabbage was too much. I could have been cut in half and that would have been a good amount. Chili didn't have any beans in it and it was pretty good. We got the 13oz Ribeye, medium with Over the Top Brussel Sprouts and a caesar salad, then the Alice Springs Chicken with creamy masked potatoes and fresh mixed veggies, which was carrots, zucchini, and squash. I was drinking an Aussie Palmer but I drank too much so I was starting to get full half-way through our shared entrees. The ribeye was seasoned just right and looked great but just tasted meh. It was a little fatty and we left alot of it still on the plate. The brussel sprouts I think were too greasy as you got to the bottom of the little cast iron pan. The service was great but I do feel like the goal was to get people in and our quickly. The servers had iPads to put in the orders which made drinks and food come to the tables super fast. While I appreciate this, I do enjoy having some in-between time to sit, look around, and chit-chat. We were there maybe an hour in all. My family is not a huge fan of outback, but we went because our friend chose to go for his birthday. That being said, the food did surprise me a little. Aside being a little too peppery the steak was more flavorful than I remember. I asked for medium rare, but it came out a little more rare. I didn't mind though. I rather have it a little more rare than well done. Our waitress was super friendly, but felt we had to wait a long time in between seeing her. We all appreciated the acknowledgement of our friend's birthday especially my daughter who enjoyed the commotion of it all :). I am a fan of OB but there are some serious problems as well. Ordered the lunch steak cooked medium well it was ok but was way too peppery for my taste. First time I ever had a steak there so I don't have much to compare it to. The server we had--- he's been our server for 4 different trips to OB---- and the same problems were observed each time. Service was ok. Not very attentive. Slow reactions to requests. Just not what I expected. Will surely go back but pretty sure I will stick to soup and salad. read more

No wait was take right to a table didn't have to wait long before our server Logan can over to introduce himself and asked for our beverage order and offer if we wanted bread. After Logan had taken our dinner order it did not take very long for it to come out. My husband loves the Outback, but sadly...after the past few visits we feel it's changing. The most important thing is the flavor of the steak! Have they changed it? The past few times we've been here it just hasn't tasted the same. My husband always gets a ribeye and he seems to think even the quality has changed. I tasted it too of course and he's right. Something it just off overall. I got the filet mignon and I will say the flavoring was off too, but cooked to perfection. We love the Ranch dressing here...always a unique flavor. But the past few times it has tasted like a ranch you'd get anywhere. It just wasn't that special Outback flavor. Have they changed the recipe? Personally I love the blue cheese pecan salad and it seems to be the same (whew!). The service is normally always very good at the Outback. But for the past few times we've gone, our drinks didn't come out until well after our salads were there...as in almost finished with our salads. When they say "we'll get your drinks right out"...what does that mean these days? On our next visit (not anytime soon) we are going to start ordering after we get our drinks. We just like to relax first and then enjoy the meal. Since we were almost done with our salad's when the drinks arrived we actually thought about cancelling them...........after all, the meal is half over! It was odd. Mind you, they weren't busy...4 or 5 other tables were full in the entire place. Hmmmm.... They do have a new rewards program which is nice. After 3 visits then you can get 50% off your meal on the 4th visit. And it includes their sister restaurants. You can also get a military/uniformed discount of 10%. However, you can't have a coupon and get a discount...they do not stack. That said, you can still get credit for the visit counted towards the 3 visits for the 4th at 50% off (but no stacking on that 4th visit). I can't believe I haven't reviewed this Outback before now...dang it! Well, in short, I would have given them probably 4 1/2 stars and rounded it up to a 5 star rating prior to our last few visits. Now I simply think they are an average 3. We will be back...we won't give up on them! We are disappointed at the moment so a break is needed. (But I'll still go for the blue cheese pecan salad!) Time heals all wounds...hahaha...but it's time to try some other steak places for now. read more

Worst service ive ever had, our server practically ignored us the entire time. He stood at the bar chatting with the bartender as we waited 20 minutes for our waters. He would also make eye contact with us as we tried to get his attention and would turn around and walk the other way. This location wasn't even busy either and now i see why. I was hoping the food would at least make up for it but unfortunately the steak was wayy overseasoned, borderline inedible. This restaurant has always been a consistent in its service for me. My husband and I had our first date there, so we revisit often because it's a nice go to place to eat. We usually eat in the bar and are easy going so speedy service isn't always necessary. I mention that because I saw that was some of the previous complaints. I usually like getting their chopped salad with their creamy balsamic dressing with candied walnuts. Recently, I have started a diet that has certain portion sizes and specification of how it prepared (steamed, no butter etc.) I was very pleased that I was easily able to navigate the menu to find exactly what I wanted and needed. The menu has the meats listed with ounces included which was very helpful. Our server was very patient and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. The sirloin steak I had was perfectly cooked. I love their seasoning. my husband (used to work in the kitchen back in the day) warned me that they prep the sweet potatoes with butter which was good to know. My husband really loves to come here and get a steak salad or surf and turf. I don't know if he realizes it but re tends to eat the same things every time we go.
