Outback's food is always pretty ok to me however, the low rating is due to the staff. These people do not like their jobs whatsoever and it reflect in their service. I asked for a drink and it sat so long at the bar that it watered down. The bartender told me to ask my server next time but I only saw her twice the entire night. I asked for A1 and horseradish TWO TIMES and it arrive after the steak was eaten. The service was really a one-star but the wings were good. Outback is always a great time. Everyone once in a while we'll hit up an Outback if we're craving prime rib. There are many other restaurants that offer steak, but Outback food is pretty consistent in all their locations. Decor - A very dimly lit restaurant, but it's not romantic at all. When I walk into Outback I don't feel the locations are always as clean as they should be. Food - The food is always consistent. The prime rib is what the group usually orders. However, depends on the person that cooks the prime rib will determine how the steak is cooked. I've gotten steaks medium when asked for medium rare. The mashed potatoes are always dry. It used to be a lot better, but now out of the 2 chains that I've been to both mashed potatoes are dry. The bloomin onion and the aussie wings are a must, but the wings used to be a lot bigger. Flavors are there, but their extremely tiny wings. Price - Expect to spend close to $30 per person. The steaks aren't cheap, but cheaper than steakhouse prices and for the portion as well. Service - Really depends on the waiter. I've been to Outbacks that had great service, but this night we had alright service. The waitress kept forgetting to bring us the things we need. (Plates, settings) Kept asking for a refill and an extra bowl and those came after the 3 time asking. Wait - There was no wait, but dinner was early. However, leaving here at 7 there was a wait. So it depends on the time of day you're going. I know Saturdays are really busy and Friday nights so if you don't want to wait, avoid those days and times. read more

I'm taking the time to write this review to highlight the excellent service I consistently receive from Angel. He is always very attentive, professional and knowledgeable in addition to his pleasant and kind demeanor. I started my dinner this evening with a cup of clam chowder which is perfect in my opinion. The clams are abundant and tender and the flavor is amazing. My main course was the porterhouse pork chop which was tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned, with my second side-- a baked sweet potato. The food was excellent and the portions were satisfying. I intended to include a photo of my entree with this review, but forgot to take one when the food was served hot and looked delicious. A special thank you to Kathy, Outback Edgewater's long time greeter. This Outback from what I understand is one of the busiest in the country. I'm a huge fan of Outback, in general, and usually go to this location, as it is close to home. I've been going for years, and never have had a problem. I have gotten sit down service, as well as, take away. I've also have sat at the bar to enjoy a few drinks. Recently this Outback location has started opening for lunch. There is a lunch menu with reduced prices, and it's great that it's now an option for lunch. The only negative is, the portions are pretty small, so just be mindful of that when ordering from the lunch menu. However, when I arrived to curbside pickup no one came outside to my car for 9 minutes. I had to get out of my car and walk into the little room for Take Away and wait again for someone to arrive. Went there last week (friday night) with some friends (party of 6) the server was nice my only complaint is that I had to ask the server for utensils and napkins when our food arrived. Today Thursday afternoon, I walk in with my spouse and 2 kids around 2:00pm and I stand at the entrance waiting for a host for over 15 minutes. I wish the Hostess was honest about being understaffed so my sister and I didn't have to wait 25 minutes to be seated when the place was empty. I wasn't over the moon about the food but I wasn't horrified either. The Baked Potato Soup was a real winner to me along with the Pumpernickel Bread and my glass of Moscato! Went here last night for dinner with my boyfriend. I want to start off by complementing our waiter who was unfortunately triple sat including us and 2 huge parties and still managed to give awesome service. The food was pretty good we had the coconut shrimp which was AMAZINGG! My only negative comment would be to the temperature in our steaks being off. I had gotten med temp and it was a little undercooked but it was delicious. My boyfriend had gotten med-well but received med-rare. He's picky with his meat so he didn't eat it but he did get the lobster tail and it was perfect. I would definitely come back soon. Now this is the first time here in about a year since the Cook's last screw -up. Even after I spoke with a then new partner of the Edgewater NJ Location We were told then that they would make good on there mistake. I didn't know they should include that on the menu stating that it's organic this way more people might buy more lettuce in salads.But unless it's Certified ORGANIC it's not really organic. He did apologize for the issue & the incident. & Did offer a partial credit. Even though 1 of the two meals we got was un-eatable. I scraped the Lettuce off of mine but by the time my meal was ice cold tasting Like a cold hard hockey puck. So I didn't feel like cooking and was craving a baked potato, so my daughter and I headed to The Outback, a great staple for consistently good food. We had the Grilled Chicken on the Barbie and it was delish!! Baked potato was fabu and love their bread. You can get a 'Big Girl' (9 oz) glass of wine, love that too. Was expecting more, half of the name of this business is "Steakhouse". I ordered the porterhouse and it was a terrible piece of meat. Difficult to cut through and chewy. I enjoy my steaks medium rare, and it appeared slightly under. I also ordered the dinner size Caesar's salad with grilled chicken, which was delicious but the plate was so tiny. I think the quality is lacking since the pandemic. Maybe it's the sort staff or bad chef. Blooming onion was too salty I think they use the fry chicken oil to fry them. (Fry chicken is also over seasoned and too salty.) unable to eat them. It usually not this salty. Also the steaks are all over cooked, got the steak medium well and dry instead of medium rare. So it was a super rainy night and I really wanted a steak. I had never been to an Outback before, but i knew steaks were supposed to be their thing. I ordered their Melbourne Porterhouse. Wow! Perfect temp, good caramelization, and well seasoned. The funniest part of this story, there is a high end restaurant about a block from here that I ate at the night before. I ordered and paid $60 for a dry aged steak their and it didnt hold a candle to the steak I just ate at this Outback location! The staff here is super friendly, and my server Cindy was amazing. From the beginning the waitress was uninterested in helping out when asked which she recommended between two entrees. He responded by stating it was a matter of preference instead of responding with which is the most popular dish. We waited about 30 minutes for our food and when my entree came out it has left over ketchup on the side of the plate. I wasn't sure if the plate was used and they dumped my food on it or if the fries were left over on the plate. I called the manager who in turn said she doesn't know what happened and that it possible was from the side ketchup on the tray. We pointed out that the ketchup wasn't even smeared so it couldn't be from that. She didn't offer to comp the meal or a desert for the bad experience instead she kept asking me whether or not I wanted another meal. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service.
