I came her for brunch and it was ok. It was not my favorite place. So first it was a Sunday after a half marathon. There were a lot tables and only one person to a lot of tables both in the front and back. The bartender was helping so that was good. The service was good and between both employees it worked well. Just came here last night and had a wonderful evening. One of the better-priced Happy Hour options in town. Sat down outside with some friends and we ordered some very tasty red Sangria and a bunch of Empanadas (which come in 3 varieties - Spinach/Vegetarian, Chicken, and Pork). All of this was super-cheap, particularly by NYC standards (Empanadas at less than $3 each, Sangria/Wine at just over $6 per glass) - but all of it was flavorful. Service was prompt enough, but they took a while to get to our table at times simply because the place was decently packed for Happy Hour (even on a Monday). As to exactly how much things cost at the end, I've no earthly clue - since one of the people from my group snuck away to pay the bill before the rest of us could blink. I came here for happy hour and dinner on a Friday. They don't take reservations and seating is first come, first served. I arrived at 5:15 and all the low top booth tables were already taken. We sat at a high top with barstool seating. It was a little cramped, but it worked. They do have hooks underneath the tables for holding purses and jackets, which was helpful. For an extra $1, you can add mango, passionfruit, or strawberry flavor to your margarita. I had both a mojito and a margarita. They were tasty, not too sweet, and decently strong, but not very memorable otherwise. To eat, we shared chips and guacamole. The guac was served with brightly colored tortilla chips, as well as a couple plantain chips. It was chunky and fresh. I also ordered chimichurri fries which were topped with manchego cheese. The chimichurri flavor was subtle so they were essentially cheese fries. They arrived very hot and it was a pretty good portion size. I enjoyed the spinach and cheese empanadas as well. The empanada crust was thick and perfectly fried. My friend got the shrimp tacos and said they were not the best. My sister enjoyed the chicharrones. Service was a bit slow, especially for the drinks. We were served by multiple waiters and they didn't do a good job of keeping track of our orders. At one point, they brought a drink that we didn't order. We initially refused it and they gave it to us anyway so we thought it was complimentary, but they ended up charging us for it. The tequila housed for happy hour is Anza and it's $8, you can get a margarita with the same tequila at Applebees's happy hour for $5. I had to take a star off for that, use another tequila! And yes, they do taste very much alike (the taste is not bad at all but for $3 extra hmm ...). Happy hour is 11am-7pm which is great also. Don't sleep on the nachos I thought it was going to be small because of the bowl but it was PACKED with chicken that reminds me of tinga chicken. I've been here twice and had two very different experiences. The first time I was with a group of friends and we opted to sit outside. One thing to know is that their outdoor seating is not heated so make sure that you come bundled up. I had ordered the steak quesadilla which was amazing! The second time I was here, my group sat inside. The indoor seating is very limited with some seats at the bar and only seven tables max indoors. Service on a Thursday evening was a little slow but it allowed my friend group to catch up with each other. I had ordered the burger medium well and was disappointed when it came out rare. I sent it back and when they had brought it back, it was sloppily put back together with no toppings. I sent it back a third time since this was unacceptable. Needless to say, I'd skip the burger. Wings are drenched in the tangy mango sauce, and not overcooked lol many bars nowadays. Good amount of meat, albeit pricey at $2 a wing. Nachos are your standard fare - guac, sour cream, pico de Gallo, beans, salsa, jalapenos, cheese. Chips are thick enough to get most of the ingredients.
