Pros: Great margaritas Fast service Lively& busy Sports watching television Friendly ambiance Cons: QR code scanning issues Subpar food

Such an excellent place. This place is a sports bar with multiple tvs located throughout the restaurant. The food is surprising delicious. 10 out of 10 I would recommend. I had the shrimp tacos and the nachos with beef. The flavors were so authentic and delicious.

Delicious food and great service. The place has an outside seating area with around five tables. The inside is spacious and cozy. There is also a bar space, some high-top tables, and booths. The booths each have their TV. Pretty cool, huh? By the way, did you know they have an awesome lunch menu? This place is a hidden gem. I ordered the comida familiar with the meat. Also had a margarita from the happy hour, which was done to perfection by German. Ok, the comida familiar should be anyone's go-to. The meat was so tender, juicy, and tasty. Beans were great but let's talk about the salad. The salad was an artwork. All the flavors were curated to perfection. German was also my waiter and he was spectacular. He was very attentive from the moment I walked in. He did the right amount of checking in on me. Lol awesome service, def will be visiting again.

Best HH in the UWS! $5.75/beer, $6.25/wine and $8.25 well drinks and some cocktails and this goes until 7 pm (on a Saturday). The bartenders are nice and accommodating. This is more a sport bar vibe but a nice one! Def my go to from now on.

So I'm kind of on the fence about this place. I've had high hopes, and in an area where Mexican and happy hours are lacking, this checks both boxes. But it's still not enough for me to go back. I'm just underwhelmed. I do have to say it's pretty much party central when I walk past it, so maybe it's a me thing, The food is just okay. I've gone for brunch a few times. The problem is, I don't even remember what I've gotten there. That's an issue. And probably why I'm like meh on it. Their margaritas were pretty choice. And I remember asking to have the Mets game on once, and in a city that's unfriendly to them, they let me watch haha. So that's a star right there!

OMG! Amigos.. I when on Sunday to celebrate my friend birthday we had a blast! Happy Hours The Whole Day the Red Sangria, perfect the empanadas with spinach and cheese were delicious. Jose, was our waiter excellent services. Thank you, so much for your suggestions. My salad with the steak was so delicious, I want to go back for lunch. For dessert we had the Churros. I couldn't stop eating them everything was very fresh and delicious. Prices very reasonable don't walk run . Tables outside when you walk in towards the left side another room plus the main room. Thank you, for amazing service and delicious drinks, food and dessert. I will be back soon!

Great little sports bar on the Upper West Side. Came here with my family to watch the NBA finals. Super chill vibe. Lots of big screen TVS in the bar area and every booth has its own flat screen. Plenty of tapas and bar food available. Service is very good and attentive. Wings are available 4 different ways. They were crispy and well done. We ordered them with dry rub, buffalo, and Asian citrus. All were very good. Tacos come 2 to an order and we're stuffed with chicken and steak and topped with pico and guacamole. Nachos we're very good piled high with black beans, pico, guacamole, and cheese. Could have used more chips on the bottom, but I'm sure if we asked they would have more as I saw the server bring some to another table. Our team lost, but we didn't let that ruin an otherwise good evening.

I came here for happy hour and dinner on a Friday. They don't take reservations and seating is first come, first served. I arrived at 5:15 and all the low top booth tables were already taken. We sat at a high top with barstool seating. It was a little cramped, but it worked. They do have hooks underneath the tables for holding purses and jackets, which was helpful. The music was a tiny bit loud, but you could have a conversation with a slightly raised voice. They were playing fun, dancey reggaeton and latin hits. It attracted a diverse mix of people, both old and young. Happy hour ends at 7. They have $8 margaritas, mojitos, and caipirinhas. For an extra $1, you can add mango, passionfruit, or strawberry flavor to your margarita. I had both a mojito and a margarita. They were tasty, not too sweet, and decently strong, but not very memorable otherwise. To eat, we shared chips and guacamole. The guac was served with brightly colored tortilla chips, as well as a couple plantain chips. It was chunky and fresh. I also ordered chimichurri fries which were topped with manchego cheese. The chimichurri flavor was subtle so they were essentially cheese fries. They arrived very hot and it was a pretty good portion size. I enjoyed the spinach and cheese empanadas as well. The empanada crust was thick and perfectly fried. My friend got the shrimp tacos and said they were not the best. My sister enjoyed the chicharrones. Service was a bit slow, especially for the drinks. We were served by multiple waiters and they didn't do a good job of keeping track of our orders. At one point, they brought a drink that we didn't order. We initially refused it and they gave it to us anyway so we thought it was complimentary, but they ended up charging us for it. Glad I tried it but because they don't take reservations and service was a little off, not sure I'd come back.

Came here for lunch and happy hour it was my first time and was very impressed. The drinks and lite bite were delicious. The price was very reasonable I would definitely come back. It's a small hole in the wall but great for drinks and food. I came here for the drinks we had margaritas and a mojitos both were perfect. For the food we tried the empanadas and the calamari very flavorful. The server/ bartender was amazing and very attentive. Worth the visit!

Is this a good spot for drinks for a group of 10 on a Saturday night at around 7? (Bachelor party)

It can absolutely be that, just make sure that you speak with someone from the restaurant to make sure it happens the way you want.

ONE BARTENDER FOR THE ENTIRE BAR -- READ BEFORE YOU GO:…read more I've never felt more gaslit by positive reviews in my life. The people calling this place "amazing" are either Sopranos fans, personally connected to management, or grading on an unbelievably generous curve. I have absolutely nothing to gain from distorting my experience. And judging by reviews like Benny R's below, I'm clearly not the only one saying this: if you go to The Scarlet, expect to wait forever, get ignored, and leave frustrated. And the worst part? It's not even a one-off bad night. I've been to The Scarlet multiple times, and every single visit has been the exact same mess: one bartender trying to run the entire place alone while customers sit around waiting endlessly for service. Last night (May 20), there were around 20-25 people in the bar between the tables and bar seats, and a single bartender was expected to do everything: make drinks, take orders, deliver cocktails to tables, clear space at the bar, all of it. Unsurprisingly, service moved at a glacial pace. My date and I were seated when we arrived and after waiting 30 minutes without anyone coming over, I finally had to walk up to the bar and order my own drink. It was deeply uncomfortable and unprofessional. Management charging $25 per cocktail while refusing to properly staff the place is ridiculous. If you're going to price drinks like a luxury lounge, at least operate like one. MEMO TO MANAGEMENT - stop being cheap and hire another bartender. Your customers are paying enough to deserve basic service.

"Things to Consider":…read more 1. Food - fine if you want to pay hotel prices for food that you can get at a New Jersey or Long Island mall at much lower prices. Paper plates, plastic cutlery and pita chips warmed and served in the bags they came in. 2. Service - non-existent. No staff members acknowledge your arrival. You either have to wave madly or go to the bar and ask for a drink. The staff is always closing early with the staff excuse that "we are not busy" yet guests are routinely turned away. The staff is not happy and begrudge being there. DO NOT believe in the hours posted on the website. There is a built-in clientele but the staff can't wait to close it down. I don't know what is wrong with management but they have lost the plot. 3. Ambience - The space could be so much better than it is. The lighting is okay but the seating in the bar area is not appropriate. The adjoining cafe has a better feeling. Ambience has a lot to do with making guests feel welcome - this staff doesn't understand the meaning of hospitality but they should not be blamed. It is clear they have no training and are not held to any standard. If you want to go to a great space, go to the Wallace Hotel around the corner (I am NOT affiliated with them... have just gone there many times). It is so sad to see a place with such potential be so poorly run, especially as they have such little competition. The Arthouse Bar has the potential to be THE leading cocktail/music/late-night bar on the Upper West Side.

The server appeared quickly, and she cheerfully took my order for a glass of Chablis (oops, sorry, no Chablis tonight) and Tuna Nori Tartare. The Italian wine -- my second choice -- was more than suitable. So far, a pleasant experience. The Nori arrived promptly, with four bite-size pieces beautifully presented on a small plate. I popped the first Nori into my mouth and ... OMG ... I'm hardly exaggerating when I say it's one of the worst things I've ever tasted! I hate to complain, and so I didn't. Instead, I wrapped the remaining pieces in a tissue and disposed of them in the restroom bin. I returned to my table and ordered the Truffle Potato Croquettes instead. Not amazing, but light years better than the tartare! At this point I nearly departed, but the jazz trio were setting up and I was interested in having a listen. I ordered a second glass of wine, the other Italian choice on the menu, which was quite lovely. The musicians launched into their first number at 7pm sharp and they were world class! Outstanding musicians. I mean, really outstanding! This more than made up for any culinary shortcomings earlier in the evening. All of this to say, I'd return to The Wallace for the music, but not for the food! :-)

We had an absolute blast from the moment we stepped inside. The whole experience--from the warm welcome at the door to the high-energy live music--was 10/10. The Food Experience: Truly Next Level The food here isn't just "bar snacks"--it's a full-on culinary experience. We tried several dishes and honestly, every single one was a hit: * Grandma's Sunday Sauce: This was the star of the show. It's pure comfort in a bowl and tastes like it's been simmering for days. * The Bacon: You can't go wrong here. It's perfectly prepared, smoky, and dangerously addictive. * The Burrata: So fresh and creamy--the perfect way to start the meal. * Crispy Shrimp: These had the perfect crunch and were packed with flavor. The Vibes & Service The host set the tone right away with a great welcome, and the service throughout the night was seamless. It's rare to find a spot that balances a sophisticated "speakeasy" atmosphere with such friendly, attentive staff. And of course, the music! The live band was electric and kept the energy high all night long. The "Roaring 20s" vibe is so well-done--it feels intimate but exciting at the same time. Final Verdict I would definitely suggest Prohibition to everyone! Whether you're a local or just visiting the city, this is the spot for great food, amazing service, and a vibe you won't find anywhere else. We'll definitely be back for more!
