This bar is pretty small, highly recommend reservations! Even on a pouring rainy night, the place was packed. I walked in solo and sat at the bar - grabbed a spot without a reservation but it was early. I think they have happy hour but I didn't see a menu and wasn't told about the specials. I had the foreplay drink, cheese plate and deviled eggs. Everything was very good! Prices are standard for a cocktail bar. Staff was all very nice and attentive. They have one bathroom and it's pretty big. Overall a nice UWS bar to check out. read more

I love this place for a cocktail. It's a small place and it does get busy so if you can make a reservation, I would recommend it. It's very cozy inside, and also outside in the summer months. My only complaint is that the wine/beer offerings are not as great as the cocktails. I had the happy hour cab franc and it was not good. I also had a Guinness which was lukewarm. A friend and I meet up 1x a month for HH because her adulting life and mine are all over the place. However, ya gotta find the time for ya friends. It was her turn to pick where and she choose this spot. Great for me b/c it was walking distance from work. HH I had the deviled eggs...the tuffle which were tasty. Stopped in by myself hoping to sit at the bar. They were, unfortunately for me, closing the bar for a private event so I was encouraged to find a seat outside. They have an adorable little "outside restaurant" ( what are those things called that sprouted up during COVID?) but I sat right outside it. I tried two cocktails: Fall Into Me (so delicious) and the I Chai'd (also yum). For my dinner I ordered the deviled eggs and the shrimp dumplings. I love deviled eggs but this dish had two traditional and two truffle, which were AMAZING. The dumplings were perfect. It was a little chilly outside so I ordered a hot toddy (bourbon) for dessert. I had one male server why was super friendly and attentive, and answered all of my menu questions. Halfway through my meal I guess there was a shift change and I had a new server, who was equally friendly and attentive! I'll be back for sure next time I'm in this area of the city. read more

I had the fall sour which was a bit sweet but well balanced with a perfect egg white. They let us sit and chat for awhile which was really nice. Our waiter was amazing and totally on point . Our only reason why we wouldn't give this place a 5 star is because the restaurant felt like a refrigerator . We came here after eating burgers, so didn't get any food, but it sounded good so I was tempted. Our server was super nice and friendly. He was also very understanding of my husband not ordering anything since he doesn't drink. No pressure at all. My drink was the heatwave, which had a bit of a kick to it thanks to habenero. Oh I just love this place! When I went, there was construction on the building above it so the scaffolding scares the bar, keep your eyes open. This must also be why I didn't know about it because I'm always exploring the upper West side and I've been to just about every bar there except this one. I went on a weekday and all the tables were taken! Great vibe, even when packed it wasn't too loud. Amazing place for a date with a great selection of cocktails. She was waiting for me to get mine to "cheers" but I finally "cheers'd" her with my water glass lol. Meatballs were the worst I've ever had. They were in a nice beefy/wine broth which I liked but the meatballs themselves were sawdust. I was thinking "sawdust" as I ate but didn't say it aloud and my mom tried one and said "those are like sawdust" lol. Literally like someone balled up a 93% lean burger patty and boiled it in broth. No fat. No egg/breadcrumbs or anything to make it soft or moist. They really need to revisit this recipe! Shrimp dumplings were tasty tasty but needed to be cut with a fork and knife with effort because they were so "al dente". Aka. Hard. Also the two apps which were all we ordered took almost 30 minutes Mai tai was great when it arrived. Wine was great. Waiter was SO nice and attentive. Hostess and other waitstaff also super nice.
