Can be busy - across the street from the Beacon Theatre We stopped in for a drink before seeing a show at the Beacon. The room was crowded, but the hostess found a spot for us. The cocktail was better than anything available inside the theater. We will return.

I stopped in here just before a comedy show with my boyfriend and had a wonderful, brief time here. I let the hostess know we only had 20 minutes to down a drink and she made it a point to alert our server and the bartenders, who graciously rushed our orders. Despite the fact they wasted no time in getting our drinks out, the quality of the cocktails and service was still there! My boyfriend enjoyed a beer, while I had the Owl's Gone Fizzing, a craft cocktail with egg white, cava, lavender, giffard elderflower, lemon and junipero gin. Even though it was quite fizzy, it went down easily. I then quickly used their facilities (no wait, even though the place was packed) which were clean, and we headed out to the show. Inside there's a variety of seating and the lighting is quite dim, adding to the ambiance. It can get loud here. I'd absolutely return!

Really cute vibes with great cocktails on the stronger side, delicious appetizers, and good service. I came here with a friend and got the gimlet and mai tai, and a plate of the cornmeal biscuits. The drinks were really great and the cornmeal biscuits took thirty minutes but were so worth it. They were soft on the inside with a drizzle of honey that made it perfect. Definitely would come back again!

This bar is pretty small, highly recommend reservations! Even on a pouring rainy night, the place was packed. I walked in solo and sat at the bar - grabbed a spot without a reservation but it was early. I think they have happy hour but I didn't see a menu and wasn't told about the specials. I had the foreplay drink, cheese plate and deviled eggs. Everything was very good! Prices are standard for a cocktail bar. Staff was all very nice and attentive. They have one bathroom and it's pretty big. Overall a nice UWS bar to check out.

The Owl's Tail far exceeded our expectations. Great vibe, an amazing service staff and cocktail geniuses that served delicious drinks. It quickly became our go-to spot during our stay at the Arthouse Hotel. We will be visiting again during our next trip to NYC. Thanks Connor, Jack, Collin and the rest of the service team for ensuring the 5-Star experience.

This is a lively neighbourhood bar. Locals are happt to chat. Big parties are welcome to celebrate. Great location. Many beers on tap.

I love this place for a cocktail. It's a small place and it does get busy so if you can make a reservation, I would recommend it. It's very cozy inside, and also outside in the summer months. My only complaint is that the wine/beer offerings are not as great as the cocktails. I had the happy hour cab franc and it was not good. I also had a Guinness which was lukewarm. I did have the deviled eggs which come in classic and truffle and I love them!

Stopped in by myself hoping to sit at the bar. They were, unfortunately for me, closing the bar for a private event so I was encouraged to find a seat outside. They have an adorable little "outside restaurant" ( what are those things called that sprouted up during COVID?) but I sat right outside it. I tried two cocktails: Fall Into Me (so delicious) and the I Chai'd (also yum). For my dinner I ordered the deviled eggs and the shrimp dumplings. I love deviled eggs but this dish had two traditional and two truffle, which were AMAZING. The dumplings were perfect. It was a little chilly outside so I ordered a hot toddy (bourbon) for dessert. I had one male server why was super friendly and attentive, and answered all of my menu questions. Halfway through my meal I guess there was a shift change and I had a new server, who was equally friendly and attentive! I'll be back for sure next time I'm in this area of the city.

What a cute place. We stumbled upon the owls tail and it seemed our vibe and snagged one of the last available tables on a Tuesday night for 4. We all each had one drink and all thoroughly enjoyed. I had the fall sour which was a bit sweet but well balanced with a perfect egg white. They let us sit and chat for awhile which was really nice. Our waiter was amazing and totally on point . Our only reason why we wouldn't give this place a 5 star is because the restaurant felt like a refrigerator . The A/C was set to 66 and we were right under it I asked if it could be toned down at all and they said no so we definitely all were quite cold, my friends luckily had jackets to put on but I didn't .

It was a very cold Saturday night and we were looking for a place to grab drinks before a late dinner reservation. The hostess was very nice and was able to squeeze our group of five in, without a reservation. We're so glad that worked out because everything we drank was phenomenal. "Owl's Gone Fishing," "She's a scorpio," "Dracarys," "Sweater Weather," A Warm Hug," "The Freshmaker" and then some delicious dealer's choice shots that went down very easily. Cool vibes, great drinks, make sure you stop by if you're near!

Heatwave. I really liked the candied ginger garnish.

I LOVED IT HERE! I loved the vibe and the ambience, it's a perfect place to chill and have a nice drink. We came here after eating burgers, so didn't get any food, but it sounded good so I was tempted. Our server was super nice and friendly. He was also very understanding of my husband not ordering anything since he doesn't drink. No pressure at all. My drink was the heatwave, which had a bit of a kick to it thanks to habenero. It was delicious and really warmed me right up. We sat in a corner booth and we just felt so cozy and comfortable. They also offered outdoor seating which looked nice as well. I will Def come back here the next time I visit New York. It had a great New York vibe in my opinion.

Went with the beau on a cheeky date night before dinner. He had the Sweater Weather and I had the Pandoras Box. We were both lit before dinner despite ordering the $9 curried nuts lol. Had no problem getting seats at the bar which is a tight fit but oh well. Seriously though the drinks are well crafted and if you can't find something to suit you on the menu they will make you something special. It's a nice little neighborhood cocktail bar that isn't trying extra hard to be something it's not.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.
