I was absolutely impressed by this place. I got a reservation beforehand and got a really nice couch. They are very relaxed despite being a busy place. They don't rush you, the drinks are strong, they have a decent food menu, desserts for after two drinks (if you're like me) - five stars. The music is amazing too I just wished people were a tad less loud and appreciated the music a little more Highly recommend the martini there and also the cocktail with the passion fruit liqueur

We came to have a drink for happy hour. I recommend making a reservation as this lounge is busy and has a moderate amount of seating. The atmosphere is trendy and cozy- nice chairs and sofas, beautiful decorations, candlelit tables, and live music. I ordered a Passion's Inferno, and it was a very flavourful and balanced drink. I like that they gave each table complimentary fries. I recommend this lounge if you are looking for a relaxed place to enjoy a drink.

Rich Townsend and The Night Train

Swanky UWS bar. Great, fun, loud, jazzy, music from Rich Townsend and The Night Train on Saturday nights. Definitely come for the music and drinks. The sliders and club sandwich weren't bad. I thought the club sandwich tasted fresh and I liked the crispy bacon. The shrimp cocktail was not what we expected. It was chopped and overdressed. It should be removed from the menu. The drinks were well balanced. I really liked the Oaxaca Negroni. The service was fairly attentive. Seating is weird. I don't know if has to do with fire codes or anything, but they were a little hostile about moving chairs and wanted 5 of us to share a sofa - 3 of us next to a canooddling couple. Yes, I'll go back, probably as just a twosome and sit further back.

Had a FABULOUS time at The Wallace Lounge. We had to wait ~30 minutes for a table, but it was very well worth the wait. Joshua (he's the best!) hooked it up, and gave us a great table. There was live jazz, and not only was the trio fantastic, but the acoustics were perfect! It was never too loud for my partner and I to have a conversation. I ordered two The Wallace Martinis and my partner got an Allagash beer. Our server was wonderful - kind, funny, and attentive. The drinks were also phenomenal - it was a strong martini, but not overly so. The Wallace is definitely a new favorite we will frequent!

Classy UWS lounge with excellent live jazz. Beautiful dark decor. Made a reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday and it was completely full at that time. By 9, a lot of tables had cleared but the band continued and was amazing. I started with the Wallace Tanquaray martini. Had to special order olives???? The server said they don't change their drink recipes but she would do olives on the side. Strangest thing I've ever heard and I order gin martinis often. Then had a nice Chablis. Salmon tartare and wagyu sliders with exceptional fries. Promoted as small plates and they were...still very tasty. A big pillar blocked us from seeing much of the piano and musicians. But we could hear them just fine. A nice evening out for two friends doing a weekend in UWS.

What do you do when you don't eat dinner but still want a place to spend a couple of hours? This is it and it's perfect. As you walk in, the dimly lit atmosphere accented with small candles, plush chairs and a roped off entrance immediately sets the mood of this lounge. The grand piano in the corner is perfect. Various jazz renditions were played all evening, not too loud either, one could still have a conversation. The food was amazingly delicious. Salmon tar tar, pistachio cheesecake were perfection. Food is not a side note, it's at the center of the experience. The drinks were amazing, not strong but delicious and with the nice effect of the alcohol youd expect. Wrap this up in a bow of service which was extremely friendly, polite and fast, and you got a spot to remember.

Excellent addition to the UWS!! Inside the Wallace Hotel is this beautiful lounge. Well laid out and quite a menu. We only went for drinks so can't speak to the food. The drinks are pricey (fine, get it) however, the martini glasses are on the smaller side and we're not filled to the rim. $18...please fill it to the top. Had to deduct a star for that and also not having Tito's?! Ugh. Service also was just okay. Hostess was lovely but servers weren't super friendly. Live music by Elsie. Perfect to have the ability to Venmo her. She was wonderful!!!

Caviar martini

What a wonderful piano bar! I came here with a fried as per their suggestion, and really enjoyed it. The host was really kind and welcoming to me. At first there was only standing room by the bar, but later on he got us a great seat by the piano. The bar server brought us out some roasted nuts while we had our $35 caviar dirty goose martinis. They were delicious! The caviar is served on mother of pearl spoons and dipped into the martini. The caviar didn't overpower the drink, and the drink didn't bleed into the taste of the caviar. It was exceptionally dirty though, so a bit salty at the end. We got an order of fries and sat on a velvet sofa in the lounge. Amazing ambiance with wood paneling and wallpaper. Cute and swanky and I loved all the songs that the pianist played. A great place for a relaxing night with drinks.

All but one round of drinks were at the happy hour price and each drink was now $20. It's odd because the food happy hour orders didn't go up but the drinks did? Either way, we didn't agree with the bill and after some discussion with the bartender, it was lowered but they tacked on an automatic gratuity (I guess as a way to compensate) but it was only two of us, so that should have never happened, especially since gratuity is optional. This experience honestly ruined the vibe and our willingness to come back again. It's really a shame because we looked forward to Monday happy hour because getting good drinks at that price is rare in the city and is a nice gem when it happens. I understand the desire to cash in on events like this, but your originality and integrity is what keeps customers and return customers. I'm sorry but I don't think I'll be back, even though it's a nice establishment. This experience was just too sour.

What an excellent spot!…read more I've been here a few times - both for just drinks and most recently for dinner. The vibes here are excellent - the space is beautifully decorated, clean, and the outdoor patio is gorgeous, especially in the summertime. The cocktails are all extremely creative and delicious (although I do think a little on the weak side). The last time I was here was for a birthday dinner. We were a large party of 8 women, and all the staff was very accommodating towards us. The food/drinks came out quickly, and they even gave my friend a big ol' birthday celebration complete with a firework candle and a light-up sign. The food is pretty decent - Spanish and Hispanic mostly, with a Caribbean flair. Standouts were the coconut shrimp (which came on a clothes hanger), the steak and tostones, and the ropa vieja. The only real downside of Don Coqui is the price of everything. The bill (with a 20% tip added for a large party) was just shy of 600 dollars, and this was for a table of appetizers and cocktails. Also, the valet parking for 15 dollars is wild, especially when there is a free lot available mere steps away. if you're feeling a little bougie, this is a great spot to grab a drink and get some great photos!

While there is valet parking at $15, we opted to park right outside the entrance in the Target parking lot. The location is truly special In the distance you can see the George Washington bridge and one feels like on vacation. When making reservations you can request an outdoor seat which is highly recommended if the weather is good. The only downside were the occasional jet skis buzzing close by. Also, the music outside was not as loud as inside and one can have a conversation without yelling. Enzo our server was very polite and attentive. Jay the manager came around to check on us a couple of times. The food ranged from ok to vey good. The rice in both entrees was a little dry and in need of a bit of seasoning. The dessert (coconut flan) was awesome in terms of presentation and taste. Despite the awesome location, good service, and generally good food, the bill was a little pricey for what we had. I would have given it another star. Even though it's located poor of the way, we will be back and recommend it.

We were both looking forward to dining al fresco, but it turned out to be a raining morning, so we wound up inside instead. The venue change was not all bad, as the bright dining room was surrounded by windows offering just a slightly more obscured view of Manhattan and the Hudson River. The restaurant offered either a à la carte menu or a $41 prix-fixe option, which included a choice of one brunch item and two mimosas, bellinis or bloody marys. While my friend opted to include the beverage package, I stuck with coffee and a main dish. My coffee was bold, tasty, and refilled as needed. For my entree, I selected the Bakkafrost Salmon, which arrived as a long, thin filet of pan-seared salmon served over a Japanese sweet potato hash and plated with a tomato confit and a parsnip puree. It was further garnished with a black sesame tuile and a soy garlic glaze. The salmon was a bit fishy, but the rest of the accoutrements were fantastic! I love Japanese sweet potatoes and parsnips, so it was right up my alley. Whether one's in the mood for a cozy family dinner or a casual get-together with friends. Sitting on the banks of the Hudson River in Edgewater, my partner, our friends, and I decided on a celebratory dinner at the Haven Waterfront Restaurant & Bar. A reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon arrival as first-timers, we were greeted by the host and got a table immediately by the window inside their floor-to-ceiling dining room, evoking a relaxed yet upscale vibe. Their menu specializes in American/Mediterranean cuisine influenced by seafood, steakhouse, and pasta. For appetizers, we decided on Short Rib Crostini, Kumamoto Oysters, and Yellowin Ahi Tuna Tacos. Our main consisted of Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass, 7 oz Prime Cut Filet Mignon, Bangkok Roasted Duck Breast, Lenny's Lobster Pasta, Crispy Lyonnaise Potatoes, and French Butter Asparagus. We even saved room for dessert and got the Bailey's Crème Brûlée and Assorted Dessert Tasting for two. We washed them down with I Dream of Lychees Martini, Berry White Spritz, and Haven Espresso. Complimentary bread with softened butter started our meal. The food is presented like art, and the portions varied depending on what one ordered. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it and fair considering the quality. Our server, Juan, was friendly, accommodating, and took the time to answer all of our questions, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A wonderful night all around--we're already looking forward to coming back.

Usually that would mean that service is faster as the staff are walking out of the kitchen, but the service here was unbearably slow. We had to crane our heads to get our orders taken, to find someone to give us our bill, and to ask about our order. We ordered a drink (the second drink was sold out and my friend was uninterested in other options) and two appetizers and the drink came first, followed by a twenty minute wait for calamari. The calamari was probably the thinnest squid in the ocean and looked like shoestring fries, but the sauce it came in was delicious. There were approximately three zucchini sticks and four peppers in the calamari, which is on par with many restaurants, but less bang for your buck. It eventually became clear after another 10 min wait that our truffle fries were nowhere to be seen, and since we had to leave for our dinner reservation soon we struggled to flag a server, who then told us that they never put in our fries order. We obviously did not ask them to start making it for us, instead asking for the bill and then leaving. I wish I liked this place more than I did, but the service and staff here were so slow and hard to flag down it felt like we spent our entire meal looking around.
