One of the best to do it! Not quite a dive, not quite a sports bar club ambiance. Its the sweet spot where they always deliver a top experience. They have plenty of tvs for the game, great beer selection and top notch bar food. Trust me their wings will be your new favorite. Great spot for groups, just watching the game solo or a chill date. Came here with my friend after work. We grabbed seats at the bar. They have the doors open and it was beautiful weather out so it was nice and open for us. We started off with two margaritas and the chips and guac. Service was fast, efficient and unparalleled. You can tell they really care about their customers. The guac and chips were freakin perfect. If I was to order that I'd want the chips to be theirs every time! So delicious ... especially the guac. We wished our margaritas were a bit more spicy but still a great drink made. We tried the frozen margarita as well... that was fantastic. Not too sweet and very refreshing for a summer day. The straw given was fun. The shrimp tacos were delicious and it came with 5!!! I wish I had a better word for delicious maybe mouth watering. Really this spot was so great. My friend ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and the first words she said after taking a bite were "omg" she said it was so crispy so good. 10/10 for that sandwich. It was trivia night here. I celebrated my 30th birthday at E's, and I truly could not have asked for a better experience!!!!!!!!! Ajay and Mia took amazing care of us and were so attentive to our group of 23, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the night. The food and drinks were incredible !!! Our open bar package was immaculate and so smooth! We also ordered large platters, and everything was handled with so much care and attention. The entire team was incredibly welcoming and kind, and they let us decorate however we wanted, which made the night feel even more special :) We were able to fully enjoy ourselves without worrying about anything!!! A very sad birthday experience :( A warning to those who make birthday plans here-- I am very disappointed by my experience, which is so sad to say because I don't usually judge harshly in my reviews. But being that this was my birthday, and was lied at to my face, it was kind of a bummer. So...What Happened? I chose the upper west side to have my party so my friends wouldn't have to be hit with congestion pricing. E's made it easy online to book a space in their bar, so I reserved for 20 people. I guess that was too easy. When I got there, we were seated at a table in the front of the bar with only 10 seats. When I went up to the person that sat us down, I asked where our other table was because we had a reservation for 20. The response was, "oh people usually just stand around the table if it's more than 10 people". Bro...what?? No where online did it say that. It was my birthday, and I was embarrassed and disappointed. Eventually the folks sitting behind my table moved and my group took over that space but that wasn't until 45 minutes later. We then had a server for my table who promised us a round of shots for the group. I asked 30 minutes later about the shots and he told me no. So not only did we get screwed over by the seating, but the empty promises made it worse. So..Anything Good to Say? The aesthetic is cool. I liked the jukebox they had in the front half. Food was decent too, I have to give it that. If I was introduced to this place with a small group, I would've had a fantastic time. But with a group bigger than 10, and shoving us all in the walkway comes off as stingy business practice. Overall My friends made my birthday special, but I had a hard time fully enjoying myself feeling so embarrassed by inviting all these people and them having to be crowded on standing while they eat. I feel betrayed by this place low key. I don't cause scenes and didn't the other day but the empty promises, and me having to face my friends like this was an awful feeling for me. Came here for a quick drink as the next door Tiki Chick was quite intimidating for me to go there solo without my girl (and wasn't in the mood for a cocktail at happy hour).... As many New Yorkers know, it is so hard to find a spot to make a large group reservation without a fee or food/drink minimum. E's is the place! We had a reservation for 10. You put a credit card down to hold the reservation and there is a cancellation policy. However, there is no minimum or fee to reserve a large table! This spot is definitely more of a dive bar, but it is so fun! The music was pumping and the drinks were flowing! They even had a sign on our table that said "Cara's Birthday!" So cute! First Impressions: This spot became one of my favorite local spots to hang out ever since the pandemic and outdoor seating started. I love the vibes and the happy hour crowd. I always end up meeting dope ass people here. The Noms: The happy hour food is filling and cheap. I wish they'd expand the menu a bit more since I like coming here so often, it would be nice to have more options. Last time I came here with a girlfriend, one of the guys behind the bar offered us wings (which I would never turn down free food, lol) he said he was trying out two flavors to trial on the menu. This place is just great all around. I have to admit I came with no expectations because my friend described it as "divey". Our server dude was really rad - he was upbeat, patient, speedy, and generally all-around helpful. Probably one of the best servers I've had this year which is kind of wild to think about because I've been to so many restaurants. We hopped in after hanging at Tiki Chick a couple doors down and we kind of took over a table between the inside and outside awning of E's. We got a round of jello shots which were apparently fairly strong, but the flavouring was delicious and my taste buds had numbed a bit by that point so it was just generally good. They are prepackaged if you feel like you want something made in-house. I had to pace myself afterwards. I got the poison apple drink which sounded pretty good - I did ask for it light so I can't comment on the alcohol content of it but what I can comment on is the Maraschino Cherry they added. I'm pretty sure it was a Luxardo Maraschino Cherry which is literally the best kind of maraschino. I was THRILLED to see it and eat it. Even if it wasn't Luxardo, it's a darn good copy. E's immediately gained 1000 points in my book for that because it shows a pretty high level of care for their drinks. I'm not some drink aficionado but I do love quality drink toppings. My priorities are skewed, but I'm glad I noticed this. Drink toppings aside, something about the ambience got us to open up a lot more than when we were just a couple of doors down - what was a birthday gathering with some silence and pauses turned into a rumble of energy that ended up with our entire group going out to dance after. I've been here a couple of times for birthday get togethers as well as just meeting up with friends who live near the area. Honestly, I don't know why more bars dont keep boardgames in the back because it's such a fantastic business model, each time I've been here I've ended up staying longer because it's fun to just play through different board games while catching up with friends. The food has always been pretty good, the drinks have been reasonably priced, and the service is quick and straightforward. The table side s'mores are brilliant. It's such a cool concept. The proportions are off though. You get a dozen or so marshmallows but only one chocolate bar. This is my new favorite spot on the UWS. Friendly staff and great service every time. The food is absolutely delicious. Burgers and fries (always topped with savory, never too salty, seasoning) come out piping hot and fresh every single time. The cheeseburger deluxe is also topped with an amazing onion aioli. If you like onion rings, the ones here are super crispy with a well seasoned batter. This bar is the perfect ode to some of the best musicians between the 70s to early 2000s. The best board games bar in the city! We have tried quite a few of them all over Manhattan and Brooklyn, and E's has remained our absolute favorite. The vibe is always casual, friendly, and fun, and ramps up a bit on Friday and Saturday nights. They have a fantastic selection of games, enough that there is always a new one to try even though we have easily been there 20+ times over the last few years. The servers are always laid-back, there are different seating areas depending on the vibe you're looking for, and the burgers are AMAZING. The happy hour deals are also amazing, and incredible that it's most of the day! We have easily spent 5+ hours here on multiple occasions because you just don't want to leave. We also recently hosted an event here, and it was such an easy and positive experience. Erin was so friendly and incredibly helpful with our options for how to book it, and really took the stress out of any part of the planning process. The day itself was perfectly smooth, and our guests really loved the relaxed and fun vibe of the bar - exactly what we hoped for. Can't speak to this place during "normal" hours but I was here before a Jacob's Pickle res earlier today during their happy hour (that lasts until 7pm!!!!) and had a mimosa and split fries with a girlfriend. The mimosa was good, not great but also I'm not sure I've ever had a great mimosa. Fries were better than expected for it being a dive bar frankly, although they didn't give us enough ketchup and the service was too slow to ask for more. The bartender truly disappeared after dropping off our drinks to the extent that we had to look for him to pay our check. He was nice, just inattentive. With that said, initial impression? Really nice, casual bar in the upper West side that gets a lot of traffic. I came here on a Friday night and it was totally packed. They have a lot of indoor seating space but on the weekends it still might not even be enough however, they allow standing room so you don't necessarily have to wait for a table or anything, just find a spot! They have a few cute and simple frozen drinks but this is def a casual drinks spot and the board games they have emphasizes this. Noise level is way up there so I'd say it's better for a group of friends vs a date or calm night out. read more

What a down to earth spot in the area! It almost feels like a bar that should be in another neighborhood, but it stands out in a good way. Went with a friend last Thursday evening and we took advantage of the outdoor seating. I loved that the outdoor seating wasn't only in the street, but they had makeshift seating areas on the sidewalk as well. I came here because they're participating in the Tippler and the signature cocktail to redeem was the Espresso Martini. Very delicious! My friend and I also shared a large basket of spicy fries. Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, hot on the inside. The staff was so amazing as well. Each person we met was really sweet and attentive. There was one young lady in particular whose name I regrettably forgot (I should've wrote this the same night).
