I loved the over-the-top dishes I saw on the menu here and had to try it. I have to admit, I wasn't disappointed. The food is really rich in the best ways. Lots of flavor. I only really have two minor complaints. The food was all quite messy, and we didn't really have enough napkins for it, the music was intensely loud, and we were seated right next to where the servers charge their handheld point of sale devices. So, they were constantly having to reach around us to grab it. I don't think those issues are enough that I'd say it was a "bad" experience. I'd still very much recommend it, and I hope to return sometime soon.

Honey & Butter Pull Apart Bread

Been eager to visit this place after seeing a video of their pull apart break. It is VERY busy and a reservation IS necessary. We visited with a party of 7 at 9pm on a Friday which just so happened to be their first night doing a burlesque show. What a fun watch! I was, however, wondering the whole time if the people outside could see. Is that allowed?? Even though we did have a resy, it still took a hot minute to get our table (whole party does have to be present before you're seated, but even then it took a while). I will say it seems like the staff is overstretched. Service was slow and so by the time we got most of our food, it was unfortunately a little too cool. Additionally, one member of my party ordered their vodka pasta, which besides being almost flavorless and cold, there was also a random potato in there (?). I wasn't too impressed with their garlic & parm bread, there could've been more garlic and it would have benefitted from them cutting it in half and adding more butter in the middle. The honey butter was good though, but that's because they plop it on top so you can control how much or how little you'd like. I do think they have a pretty decent Caesar salad. The dressing didn't scream homemade (which I didn't like) but it was overall a respectable offering. The steak frites was perfectly cooked to medium rare for me and the fries were delicious and plentiful (I didn't finish them). Like I mentioned earlier, because everything took so long to come out, it was a little cooler than I would've preferred, but I was happy with my choice. I would've loved to try their chocolate cake, but I was pretty full and the speed of service had left a bad taste in my mouth. I wouldn't completely disqualify this place, but I would recommend trying to find a less busier time to visit.

The pull-apart bread was delicious, and I can just keep eating it. The French onion soup can be split and shared. That was a good idea. Hanger steak with frites was done well. Dolived eggs are also good. The French dip honestly wasn't that great. The 24-layer cake is good for a laugh. I do not recommend it. We have to keep looking for the server to get more drinks. It's a nice restaurant, but the tables are very cramped together.

I don't ordinarily choose to go to typically popular (social media-wise) places. However, I now understand why this place gets the kind of love that it gets. First of all, the service is terrific. I walked in as a "one" and got to sit in this adorable little solo seat up on the second floor, which had a great view of all of the goings on down below me. Then I ordered a Classic Bloody Mary and their Deluxe French Dip from a friendly and competent server. When the Bloody Mary came out, it looked almost pink, which had given me the false sense that it might not be all that flavorful. Boy, was I wrong. It was an incredibly tasty cocktail. It honestly might have been one of the best I've ever had! The Deluxe French Dip was insane. It was a vision of beauty. I just couldn't even figure out how I was going to eat it without making a complete mess of myself. I even asked the waiter if he had a recommendation. He just told me, "You just have to own it" and brought me a stack of napkins. And "own it" I did. It was so delicious and decadent. It involves so many deep flavors. I particularly loved the horseradish sauce. Being a native New Yorker I often scoff at these madly, popular eateries that draw large crowds of people taking selfies while they're eating, but between the service, the food, the decor and the overall vibe, I honestly believe I understand why this place is so wildly popular. And you should go check it out too.

Came on a Sunday night with some friends and we got a bunch of things to share. The servings are huuuuge but the food is delicious. The pull apart bread was to die for, as was the chicken Caesar salad. Will definitely be back to try their famous sandwiches!

I came here for Restaurant Week 2026 and had a great time. This was my first time at this restaurant and the first time experiencing Restaurant Week. I made a reservation and was seated right away upon arriving. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating available both downstairs & upstairs. For my meal, I ordered the Cesar Salad for my starter. It was a great portion, fresh, and delicious. For my entrée, I went with the Chicken and Eggplant Parmigiana which was an excellent portion. Every bite of my entrée was amazing it was cooked to perfection with the lots of Parmigian Cheese. For my dessert, I went the Vanilla 24 Layer Confetti Cake. It's a huge tower of delicious cake that's almost impossible to finish at the restaurant. I took a majority of my dessert to go. My server was pretty nice and attentive, however, the staff at the front desk and at the restroom area are rude. When I come back here again I will definitely get the Garlic Parmigian Pull apart bread, the Hot chicken and French Toast, Steak & Fries, and the Chocolate 24 Layer Cake instead. This location is directly across the street from a movie theater; perfect for Dinner and a Movie night.

The food was amazing and the portions were huge! I would definitely visit again, and I'd love to try the layer cake since it was sold out when we went. We shared the chicken Caesar salad between two of us and still had leftovers. The Maison steak was ordered by two people in our group, and they both said it was delicious. Overall, the prices are fair for the generous portions you receive. My only wish is that they carried Dr Pepper, but I would absolutely recommend this place.

Maison Pickle is surprisingly spacious - much larger than it seems from the outside. They have outdoor seating, plus a ground floor, a floor downstairs and upstairs. This is a popular spot, so reservations are highly recommended. The ambiance is overall very elegant. Service was one of the best I have experienced in the city; it was truly exceptional and attentive. Their menu offers classic American comfort foods, although their signature dish is the French dip, and I was very tempted to try this instead. I came here for brunch. We started with pulled apart Frosted Cinna'nut Bun - this tastes exactly like a warm and comforting cinnamon roll. For my main meal, I ordered the Florentine Omelet since I wanted something a bit healthier. The omelet is made with Greek feta and baby spinach. it is also served with very seasoned roasted potatoes and some side salad, and it was satisfying.

I mean my goodness. This is my favorite spot to eat at. I have never had a bad experience here. Honestly, each time it gets better believe it or not. After church on Sunday we stoped in for brunch and decided to sit at the bar. We met Adama, we welcomed us to the neighborhood, made us two of his specialty drinks on him and served us well! I don't think you could pay me to not get the buffalo Mac n cheese when we come to Maison Pickle. The steak and eggs were absolutely GAS! Vibes were high for brunch; the air was light, music was groovin, and everyone around us were enjoying themselves. It's nice being literally right around the corner but even if I was on the other side of the city, Maison Pickle is a weekly must. No Doubt.

Solid food!! Large plates! I took a long train ride to the upper west side to try them out for restaurant week. Upon entering it looks small but they have about 3 stories of seating in the L shaped restaurant which is very cool. I observed everyone getting the deviled eggs but wasn't interested but I also realized need the plates are huge. Very plate that comes out can easily be split between two people. I had the chicken and eggplant parmigiana and it easily fed me for two more days. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've had in a long time , very fresh and tarte. I paid the upgrade for their famous layer chocolate cake. Seems like o wasn't the only one as they were selling these to multiple tables. One piece of cake can feed four people easily. I will only come her for restaurant week because honestly the food is so good and the plates are large enough so big parties can eat family style.

Garlic Parmesan pull a part bread

First time trying this restaurant and overall 10/10. We walked in with no reservations and were promptly greeted, as well as accommodated. Garlic Parmesan pull apart bread was awesome, buttery and fresh. My steak was cooked just right along with fresh frites. My date ordered the fried chicken Caesar salad and it was a hefty serving, good enough for two to split. Nice spot for a date night (also located across the street from AMC) and saw plenty of big groups of up to eight people.

On a freezing, snowy Sunday night, there were plenty of last minute 7pm reservations, so I made one. We got to the restaurant at 6:30, along with several other parties who had 7pm reservations. Everyone was told to wait until 7pm. Needless to say, no one was happy. There were plenty of empty tables, yet we all were told to wait until 7pm. What a weird start to dinner... The place is super loud. Impossible to relax and hear the conversation, so be aware. Only around 9pm, the noise level decreased to normal. Couldn't enjoy myself due to how crazy loud this was. Wouldn't return just for this reason. The staff are very accommodating. However, we felt extremely rushed the whole entire time as our food was delivered super quickly (before our drinks) and every five seconds a new staff member would stop by our table to ask if we wanted our plates removed. I could not relax and for this reason, I would not return to this place. When I go somewhere, I go for the atmosphere, and I unfortunately, could not enjoy the vibe here because I felt extremely rushed and frazzled to the whole entire time. All the tables are squeezed very tightly together, so you'll be participating in your neighbors' conversations. This is not a place to just come and hang out and relax. This is where you grab a super quick drink or a bite and rush on your way. I appreciated the Christmas decor, and really wanted to linger to enjoy the moment. However, that felt impossible. The food was just OK. Definitely more hyped up than reality showed it to be. The $18 pull apart bread was just OK. Maybe we got the wrong type: the Garlic Parmesan pull apart Bread, which was a bit dry. Our neighbors got the honey and butter, and that looked more decadent, so definitely get that. $29 deluxe French dip was tasty, but definitely not worth the money. Not a lot of meat for the proportion of bread. The meat also felt heavy. Felt heartburn after this. $34 short rib special was OK. A huge amount of mashed potatoes. The meat was tender and delicate so that was good. This is a conventional dish that she can get anywhere so I would opt out of this and try something else. Seasonal drinks were tasty. Strong and well-balanced. This I would recommend and try all the specialty ones that they have for the holidays. Would I return? Probably not. Too expensive and too chaotic for the experience that you get.

Ask the Community - Maison Pickle

What is the appropriate attire for this restaurant?

There is no dress code. The bar area and restaurant have a casual elegant retro vibe so you won't be overdressed if you decide to go in cocktail or business casual attire but jeans and a tee shirt are also perfectly acceptable. Hope that's helpful.

Do they always include gratuity into the bill? Does it say it on the menu somewhere that this is their policy?

Yes, they add an automatic 18% gratuity to all checks. It's indicated in the small print at the bottom of the food menu

Is the 24 layer birthday cake always available?

It's on the regular dessert menu, so yes! We had 6 people and couldn't finish it. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/maison-pickle-new-york?select=3Do-_iybk5vzijUIEUwWlQ&userid=qbbCqdPbdkL2d_E9QeA2fw

Do I need to make reservations?

I have never made reservations here, but would recommend it on weekends and around dinner time, it can get packed sometimes, a few times I have seen groups of people waiting.

Are there heaters in the outdoor dining area?

    Yep!

    - do you need to have proof of vaccination to eat here?

    Yes.

Do they allow dogs with outdoor seating?

    Yes!

How much are drinks here/worth it?

Drinks including beers/cocktails are around $8 to $15. Nothing really stood out to us unfortunately. I had a few beers and my girlfriend had mimosa

    Do they accept Apple Pay?

    Yes!

Are they still doing outdoor dining?

    Yes

Do they offer a bottomless brunch option?

They do have brunch but no bottomless option.

Is this place good to bring kids? Do they have any high chairs?

We brought our three small children but none needed high chairs. So yes it is good for children but not sure on high chairs.

Does Maison Pickle serve Jacobs Pickle's home fries, chicken and waffles, pancakes, and biscuits? We are from California and absolutely loved Jacobs Pickles we want to go back!!

They said the breakfast/brunch menu is Jacob's Pickle while the dinner menu is Maison Pickle. The items you are looking for were on the menu when we went for brunch. It was excellent.

How could I not love a place with the name, Scarlet Lounge?…read more It takes a lot to get me to venture to this part of town and I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a night out on the Upper West Side, but Scarlet has been on my list since I saw owner, Michael Imperioli's announcing the opening on Instagram. I found myself in the area on recent Friday evening and decided to meet up with two friends here. I was smitten at first sight of the beautifully-appointed room, with seductive red drapery and gold accents. All I wanted to do was curl up on one of the velvet chairs and spend my entire evening captivated by imagined past lives of this space... Dorothy Parker holding court here with her Vicious Circle, sipping on Gibsons and martinis. You're going to have a glorious time. We were welcomed by a dashing gentleman at the door who kindly found us seating in the sultry little nook by the piano. Our server never left us wanting for anything and believe me, we wanted it all. Cocktail names are well-priced, especially for Manhattan. I kept to a decent bubbly and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time here.

ONE BARTENDER FOR THE ENTIRE BAR -- READ BEFORE YOU GO:…read more I've never felt more gaslit by positive reviews in my life. The people calling this place "amazing" are either Sopranos fans, personally connected to management, or grading on an unbelievably generous curve. I have absolutely nothing to gain from distorting my experience. And judging by reviews like Benny R's below, I'm clearly not the only one saying this: if you go to The Scarlet, expect to wait forever, get ignored, and leave frustrated. And the worst part? It's not even a one-off bad night. I've been to The Scarlet multiple times, and every single visit has been the exact same mess: one bartender trying to run the entire place alone while customers sit around waiting endlessly for service. Last night (May 20), there were around 20-25 people in the bar between the tables and bar seats, and a single bartender was expected to do everything: make drinks, take orders, deliver cocktails to tables, clear space at the bar, all of it. Unsurprisingly, service moved at a glacial pace. My date and I were seated when we arrived and after waiting 30 minutes without anyone coming over, I finally had to walk up to the bar and order my own drink. It was deeply uncomfortable and unprofessional. Management charging $25 per cocktail while refusing to properly staff the place is ridiculous. If you're going to price drinks like a luxury lounge, at least operate like one. MEMO TO MANAGEMENT - stop being cheap and hire another bartender. Your customers are paying enough to deserve basic service.

The calamari was probably the thinnest squid in the ocean and looked like shoestring fries, but the sauce it came in was delicious. There were approximately three zucchini sticks and four peppers in the calamari, which is on par with many restaurants, but less bang for your buck. It eventually became clear after another 10 min wait that our truffle fries were nowhere to be seen, and since we had to leave for our dinner reservation soon we struggled to flag a server, who then told us that they never put in our fries order. We tried several dishes and honestly, every single one was a hit: * Grandma's Sunday Sauce: This was the star of the show. It's pure comfort in a bowl and tastes like it's been simmering for days. * The Bacon: You can't go wrong here. It's perfectly prepared, smoky, and dangerously addictive. * The Burrata: So fresh and creamy--the perfect way to start the meal. * Crispy Shrimp: These had the perfect crunch and were packed with flavor. The Vibes & Service The host set the tone right away with a great welcome, and the service throughout the night was seamless. It's rare to find a spot that balances a sophisticated "speakeasy" atmosphere with such friendly, attentive staff. And of course, the music! The live band was electric and kept the energy high all night long. The "Roaring 20s" vibe is so well-done--it feels intimate but exciting at the same time. Final Verdict I would definitely suggest Prohibition to everyone! Whether you're a local or just visiting the city, this is the spot for great food, amazing service, and a vibe you won't find anywhere else. We'll definitely be back for more!

We came to this place to have a get together with friends…read more The ambiance was incredible! Very chic and low lighting was perfect for a Saturday night. They had live music which was also so much fun! We sang along and enjoyed our drinks and food. My husband got the braised pork shank and I got the grandmas sauce pasta dish. DELICIOUS!! We had the lamb and burratta with truffle fries to share- also to die for. We ended the night with some espresso martinis for a sweet ending. Amazing food, great service and entertainment. Definitely will come back! Ask for Ty! Best server!!
