There is a special place in my heart for this Outback given an extraordinary experience that will forever remain remembered in our family and in our heart. Our beloved dog, Bruce, was put down this weekend and we wanted to treat him to a filet mignon as his last meal. I called to place the order and briefly mentioned it (since I just needed a steak and not a whole meal with sides, which they happily accommodated). Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by one of the servers, Michelle, who went to get my order. Kathy Spinella (the owner of this Outback) walks out and introduced herself to me. She pulled me aside with Michelle and firstly extended her deepest condolences, gave me a genuinely caring hug and handed me a bag that included not one but two sincere handwritten notes from her and her team to apologize for our loss and gave us kind words of encouragement. Not only that....but she compensated the whole meal (in addition to an appetizer I got for myself!) and also added on some ice cream, whipped cream and cheesecake for him AND a $20 gift card for when we're ready to come back. I was in disbelief and shock. That level of generosity, thoughtfulness, and authenticity (especially in corporate restaurants) is something very rare and remarkably memorable. She is a gem who runs a professional yet personable business and we are so grateful for her incredibly touching gesture during our time of loss. Thank you Kathy, Michelle and the Edgewater Outback Team for not only sending our sweet boy off with a royal meal and but also for such a kind, empathetic and thoughtful experience! It made our difficult send-off just that much easier and left us all feeling very blessed and thankful for compassionate people in the world like Kathy and the Edgewater team. read more

I want to share how grateful I am for the kindness and compassion my son and I received here last week. We come to this restaurant often, and during our last visit, my son had a tough moment and started having a meltdown. As he cried and did everything to wiggle away from me, the bartender came over with a toy to gently distract him, and a few minutes later, the manager, Kathy, stopped by to offer comfort and reassurance. When I explained that my son sometimes has these episodes, she didn't hesitate for a second -- she made me feel understood, supported, and far from alone. She offered anything we might need to help calm and soothe him, and her kindness made an overwhelming moment so much easier to navigate. It's rare to find a place where the staff shows this level of care and humanity. This restaurant has always had great food, but now it has my deepest appreciation as well. I've been to many Outback restaurants over the years and this one is the worst. The staff is very incompetent as if they do not even care to even try to provide good service. It is really a disrespect to the franchise. I returned my order for multiple reasons including wrong sides and cook was way off on the steak not once but three times. It's a steakhouse and the cooks seriously need a lesson on grilling meat. Outback needs to take a hard look at this location given the level of amateur behavior across the board. I came back to this location for lunch. They have great options for $11-15 lunch specials. I opted for the grilled chicken on the Barbie- it had great seasoning. The koala punch was adorable. Don't go there if you have kids as you will have to wait for our food more than an hour and 15min! The capacity of their kitchen doesn't match the seating so the place is mismanaged. read more

I only eat pork maybe once a year but I had a real Craving for some baby back ribs. My ultimate favorite place to get them is Houlihans, but unfortunately they don't deliver to my area. When it comes to ribs, I like national chains because you know what you're getting. I prefer my ribs in the sweet side and while I've only been to Outback once (not for the ribs), I had a feeling they'd be able to scratch my baby back itch. The half rack entree came with two sides. I got the fries and seasonal veggies, which was zucchini and carrots. In our delivery order, I was surprised to see they also included complimentary bread and butter. I thought the plates were a little light in fries, particularly one of the orders. It almost looks like it was partially eaten lol ( I hope not)... the ribs were good luke I expected though and the fries and veggies were also decent. It certainly satisfied my craving. Was very upset with today's visit. Walked in and waited approx 5 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was pretty empty. I got the meatloaf which looked like deep fried hamburgers. Was very greasy. Please don't ever order any of the Bloomin' items on the menu for takeout without checking your order first! They never include the most important part of the meal...the Bloomin' sauce! I mean NEVER! I have written I have called. I have text message. I have done everything possible even spoken to whoever the manager is on duty at the time and each time they say they will speak with the kitchen. I've given them so many chances I'm done I've given them so many tips and I'm done. The service was good, however the ribeye steak was off. Tasted metallic, old, gamy, or freezer burnt. The waitress was super nice and offered to promptly replace it with a new one. Nonetheless, the steak tasted the same, the kitchen manager came up requesting more details. Once I explained my concerns he stated that he witnessed the steaks coming fresh from the package so he was sure the steaks are not old. So he apologized because the steak wasn't up to my standards. I requested them to try the steak to confirm my concern but he stated they don't do that and they don't need to try them because he knows the quality of the steaks they receive. This Outback used to be one of the better ones I've eaten at, and even the take out was good, but it has gone way down hill. This place used to be packed and you could wait a good hour before being seated. Now, maybe half the tables are occupied and the service was slowwwwww, and the number of times we had to ask for the same item was tiring. And the food, well that's a whole other fiasco. The temperature of the food was not cooked to their own standards. A filet mignon that we ordered Medium came out rare, twice. When they took it back the second time to cook it a little more it came back dry. The ribeye that was supposed to be medium came out over cooked and dry. The second time was a little better. The salmon was fishy and the burger that should have been cooked medium was also dry. The last time I was here was not great but this time was the last. We're done. My only regret is that I am one of those people that rarely thinks to take pictures. I need to do better with that. Good luck to anyone else who ventures here tonight. Our server was Jasmine. She couldn't have been more pleasant and professional. She made a suggestion that we went with. When the food showed, a misunderstanding became evident. Jasmine handled this flawlessly and with empathy. We really enjoyed our lunch. If you think about it, chain restaurants like these are dependable in that you pretty much know what you're going to experience. And, the average rating is almost always a three out of five. The difference between a rating of 2 or 3 and a 4 is the staff. Someone like Jasmine makes it a four...and a four makes you want to return. I don't usually review chain restaurants, but I want to recognize this Outback location for its exceptional service and solid food. Clean and spacious interior plus plenty of parking. My most recent visit was with my younger siblings for a late lunch. From the moment we were seated, our server was very friendly and communicative. She helped explain parts of the menu and took really good care of us throughout our meal. Although parts of the service were a bit slow (other reviewers pointed out they might be a bit understaffed here), it wasn't excessive and our server's attentiveness and bright attitude more than made up for it. Food was reliably good as usual. My go-to appetizer is the Bloomin' Onion and we also had the Mac & Cheese bites which were nice and crispy. My sister really enjoyed her french onion soup and all of my siblings loved the grilled shrimp despite their usual aversion to seafood. The Kingsland Pasta was a bit bland, but the steak and shrimp were good in combination with the alfredo pasta. My ribeye was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The fries were tasty, too. My 600th review goes to a special birthday dinner celebrated at Outback. Must be decade(s) since I went to one. Passed by this location all the time. We decided to eat outdoor since it was a nice and warm evening. Service was a bit slow but our very friendly waitress let us know that she was the only one covering the few outdoor tables. No problem as we enjoyed our time and weren't too hungry. The complimentary bread was pretty tasty. We decided on the rib eye with coconut shrimp and the salmon. Coconut shrimp was amazingly wow!! Would definitely order it again next time. Salmon was also great. What a healthy and flavorful entree! Nice view of the Hudson River and there was a full moon. Over the past year or so, I noticed the quality of the food here has improved from what it was a few years ago. I enjoyed the outback style prime rib and the cheese fries were not overcooked as often. So I convinced my friends to come here as it is closer than Texas Roadhouse which seems to be busy all the time. They enjoyed the food again at outback and we decided to put it into our rotation every once in a while. HOWEVER, my last visit last month on a weekday, we were told they got rid of the prime rib except for weekends. Now outback is off our rotation again. I was very disappointed with last night's dinner at Outback Steakhouse. We are always in this shopping center and decided to give it a try because it's been a long time since we went to an Outback Steakhouse. We arrived at 8:59pm, the hostess took down our name and number and said the wait would be 40 minutes. The hostess didn't seem interested, looked distracted but we looked past it and waited outside. After 9:40pm, I was wondering if they forgot about us and we walked in. Different hostess, she was eating McDonald's fries and trying to figure out if a table would be ready. (Nothing against McDonald's fries, but as any employee in a restaurant, she didn't look presentable or professional what she was doing). If we didn't go in to check our table, who knows if we would even be notified. We sat down, orders taken, and noticed for almost 20 minutes, no utensils at our table, bread was never given out. Appetizer did come out, I asked for utensils twice to our waiter and you can see him at a distance, but didn't come immediately as we're already eating more than halfway to our appetizer. The smaller plates came out, but it was no use because we were more than halfway done. My food was so salty and too much pepper was added. The fettuccine was not cooked enough, I usually don't mind al dente, but this dish was not good. My Aussie Fries was forgotten, another food item I didn't bother asking our waiter because you can see how distracted he was. He gave my husband a lemonade after the fact they ran out of Strawberry lemonade. Didn't bother to ask if it was okay to switch with a lemonade. I don't think I'll ever understand what happened last night. Between the tables that had more than enough room to seat when we entered, the food was too salty and too much pepper added, my Aussie Palmer was bland, our waiter's service was awful ( he was more attentive to the customers behind my husband who came the last 10 minutes before we left). A general manager should train the staff better, our dining experience was awful. I won't be back again. The food prices were not reasonable, the coconut shrimp should have not been $11.99. Thank you to at least one server who actually was attentive to giving us utensils a split second after our waiter finally gave it to us when I asked. read more

3.5 stars! I go pretty regularly to the Edgewater Outback Steakhouse and it's a solid option for this chain restaurant. I've never made a reservation and I've never had to wait for more than 5 min. Sometimes the food service is slow but not sure if that's a result of staff shortages due to the pandemic (I just started coming here in 2021). The food is reliable and regular-- it's an Outback Steakhouse so the menu offers its standard fare. Though, I am weirdly obsessed with the smoking old fashioned! The prices are reasonable and this will continue to be in my rotation for dining out along the Hudson River waterfront. read more

Came here to enjoy what I thought would be a low key dinner on a Tuesday to have one of the worst outback experiences in all the times I've been to this establishment. Around 6pm on a Tuesday, there was already a 20 minute wait, we were seated and left without waters or any acknowledgement for another 10 minutes and when finally greeted by our waitress -- it was basically her complaining about how busy she was (which I sympathize) with prior to taking our order. We ordered appetizers (wings and a blooming onion) and some steaks and the steak came out first, missing a side. I asked for steaksauce and salt and pepper which was never provided, the second side came out long after followed by our appetizers. We were never checked on and given what we asked for to enjoy our meal. Food was ok -- steak was little overcooked and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were either microwaved to hell or served from the bottom of a pan. I had to flag down the host to get our check after waiting 15 minutes upon finishing our meal and then had to hunt down my credit card again after never getting back the check book. Overall, a chaotic experience that really turned us off. Service here is awful and with the amount of Outbacks in the northern NJ area, you're better off making the drive elsewhere. read more

How can you not like Outback Steakhouse?!?! This establishment has withstood the hands of time. I can remember coming here when I started driving and that's a longggg time ago. For the price- you are getting your moneys worth. Just the bread that comes out alone is worth coming here, and the kind staff will always bring you more of that warm doughy goodness. I always hit up the appetizers hard... coconut shrimp, wings and blooming onion is a meal in itself. The Caesar salad is by far one of the tastiest I've had... it's all in those croutons! As for the steaks and entrees- you will get a tasty meal everytime. As for consistency, that may differ from time to time. Which is why I don't mind coming here for drinks and apps alone. This place has a nice wrap around bar as well with some TV's. Outdoor dining and pickup service also. You can't go wrong with coming here to hang out and stuff your face. read more

"Good day mate." What happened to this place? It was always busy no matter time you visited Imagine you order a medium well steak (prior this day, always all steaks ordered cooked to perfection), you get it and smells foul. Server tells you manager spoken to and taking care of it personally after you requested another one. Guy comes out in jeans and says nothing, just stands there and serves a blackened steak. I held my composure for the sake of my guests. My wife cuts through it and learns it is medium well inside with a surprisingly good taste. BARBARA was our server, AMAZING Service, BRAVO, Que BARBARA. Applause. The hostess is a sweetheart The place was with clean floors and men's room. Something they struggled with in the past. But it was nearly empty at 9pm on a Friday. My steak and that of other guess, was amazingly GOOD, as always except for this one of many steaks enjoyed here, very tasty. The three star rating is for Manager not introducing himself bringing out second steak and for the spoiled meat served before that. Recently I took a liking into ribeye and filet mignon. Was looking for food while shopping at Mitsuwa Marketplace, and found Outback down the street. This is the second outback and second time me and hubby had went to, the last time we were at a outback was at least eight or nine years ago. I really like this location bc it is near the waterfront. Imagine Moshulu of Philly without the boat and their prices. I thought we were dinning in but when our hostess brought us to their outdoor tables with the scenery, me and hub were excited. We started with bread with butter(on the house), Steakhouse Three Cheese Dip. It got chunks of steaks and it is so freaking cheesy, me and hubby ate it all lol. We wants sweet alcoholic beverages so our server suggest rum punch and blackberry sangria. Hubby likes the rum punch while I prefer the blackberry sangria. My waitstaff, DW was extremely attentive and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for my dining experience. I had asked her to exclude a few ingredients from the dishes I chose, and she happily did that for me. When it came to paying the bill, she reminded me to collect my points, which was very considerate of her. Because of her friendly and courteous demeanour, she is definitely an asset to the restaurant. The food I cannot falter. I chose the soup and salad special. Their French onion soup I can highly reccomend and all their salads are extremely fresh and tasty. I was at the Edwater, NJ branch where they provide outdoor seating. First of all, this is an Outback, and I am rating this restaurant versus other chain steakhouse restaurants (not as a high end steak house restaurant). This is perhaps the nicest Outback that I have been too! One of the reason's is our server, Chelsey!!! Right from her initial greeting, we were impressed. She has an honest, relaxed, sweet way of greeting and taking care of guests, start to finish. Chelsey, should train servers as to how to interact with customers. Our meals were prepared as requested... my medium-rare sirloin was cooked spot on medium-rare! Most other restaurants miss medium-rare and serve it bc as medium. In addition, while talking with Chelsey, (which I initiated) she said the owners/ upper management, treat her like family and that she really enjoys working there. I might bet, that at many other restaurants the servers would not have such high praise for their management/ owners. SUMMARY: I SENT MY DISH BACK BECAUSE I AM NOT EATING COLD STEAK. I hate to give any business one start but this is my first time ever giving an one star review. Here is what happened: First and foremost, we waited 10 minutes to order our dinner. Servers were not attentive and the host did not help either. I know I am not at a Michelin restaurant but the kitchen should know this better. The moment the steak came out, we knew it wasn't right. The steak didn't look cooked even from the outside and when we cut the steak right in the middle, it was NOT medium rare. In fact, the steak was cold in the middle. That is not acceptable. That means that they didn't even have the meat rest out in the room temperature before it was cooked. The steak came out at the same time as their signature bread and we were already concerned. I HAD TO SEND IT BACK. I AM NOT EATING COLD STEAK. I get the same piece of steak I sent back and that's not the norm. It was a great shock to me to see that they clearly don't care. Thank God we only ordered one dish that night. It was absolutely a waste of money and I rarely say that to food, no matter how bad it is.
