Don't expect the same flavors as Rudy's Mexicatessen. BUMMER. We were avid fans and came to look for the same taste here at the expanded family's Brea location. NOT THE CASE, just expensive coffee and food. read more

Found this place on Yelp. Loved the patio area. Everyone was having breakfast or Mexican food -we had sandwiches. Service was ok but the young ladies need more awareness on dining protocol. We were in the middle of our meal and a server (not our main one) dropped off the check. She did not ask if we wanted anything else (maybe we would have ordered dessert or coffee) or if we wanted the check. It was really a big turn off. My husband said "we're still eating". There were open tables and no one waiting - this made us feel like we were being rushed. Dinner menu looks interesting so we plan to return. read more

Overpriced. Bad service The setting is awkward. Our table is looking directly towards the restroom read more

Wow!!! We knew breakfast and lunch were awesome from our visits to their Fullerton restaurant. Last night, on our first visit to their Brea restaurant, we discovered their dinner service was just as incredible. From the moment we walked in we knew this was going to be something special. The service was warm and friendly and our dinners were award winners. Once word gets out, reservations weeks in advance will be the norm. read more

One of our favorite local spots! The food is incredible (the French toast ), the staff is friendly, the owner is always around, it's clean and a chill vibe for breakfast. All the food is really good. I've been meaning to go for dinner, because I can only imagine what they do with those dishes! read more

Walked in for an early lunch on Wednesday, was greeted by the owner Sarah B. Great, attentive service and fantastic food. Happy Brea's finally got a cozy family-owned spot to go for brunch. read more

Great. I have really enjoyed Early Bird but this is 500 yards from my house. Absolutely my new favorite breakfast place.

They have excellent food and specials. Their Mexican food is delicious and their French Toast is phenomenal. A lot of specialty food.

Welcome to the second location of Our Nest family of great eating! This newest addition features the same delicious breakfast and lunch menus, but now has both a dinner menu and a happy hour! Such a wonderful addition! Drinks are standard, special, or can be made by their creative mixologist. We had many small plates, a variety of the specially created beverages, and simply enjoyed two hours of camaraderie accompanied by this scrumptious repast. Staff are attentive and flexible, and cordial. The owners were also present to greet and welcome us; then thank us as we left. The decor is evolving as this site recently opened. This locale is much larger than the Fullerton location. At decor becomes more distinct at dinner hour. Tables are set in cloth napkins and beautiful stemware with floral centerpieces. Furniture has an industrial appeal; sturdy but very functional. I'll be back often now for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner! read more

Very poor customer service. Took over an hour for the food. Myself and family will not be returning

I love the location, and it's a beautiful spot. I want this place to succeed, but a couple things missed the mark, mostly with the food: BABS bowl Ordered this for my 2 kids to split since there were not any healthy options on the kids menu--also I didn't know there was a kids menu, we weren't given one after asking when we sat down. After ordering I only found out there actually is one but not listed anywhere. I told the server my kids (1 & 5) would split the bowl. They still brought out just the main plate (would have been nice if they split it for us). Had to ask several times for split plates. Biggest issue was this is NOT a bowl, it's a salad. It has a spinach base and only a sprinkle of quinoa. Chicken on it was pretty bland and very small portions of raw tomato, carrots, etc. Again with a bowl you expect the grain on the bottom and for a bowl to be warm, this was a salad so it was all cold. Fiesta Bowl Again not a bowl, it's a salad and heavy on the lettuce base. Corn and beans are definitely from a can and taste like it, they have that preservative kind of canned taste. The chicken is really bland and there are super small portions of the toppings. The dressing it's served with is a really sour lemony vinaigrette and doesn't match the flavor profile you expect with a fiesta bowl. Taco plate The best tasting thing but came out cold Other issues: they never refilled the lemonade and it was served in a really small cup that was mostly ice. They asked once at the beginning while my son still had some drink for a refill and I said, in a little bit (when he's done) but they never came back. Also the server would walk by and ask "everything good?" While walking away/not stopping to hear if we had an answer or actually needed something. We spent $100 which is how much things cost these days but it really wasn't worth it. However, I want a place like this to succeed in Brea and feel like they could but only if they can make some improvements. I might still give them another chance and try to order completely different things, or come at a different time like a weekday or for dinner because the Saturday morning breakfast just wasn't very good. read more

Such a cute restaurant! A bit pricey but large portions of food! Food was yummy! Sara B served us and she was amazing!! Love her!

Staff was unfriendly. I've asked for a bigger table and she gave me a bad look and dishes had black specs on it and I've brought a cup of herb medication for my garden issue which I must take with my food and she told me I couldn't bring it in...that's ridiculous...terrible customer service...Ambience was the only compliment I have for the place. read more

I had lunch here for the first time last week. The food and service were outstanding. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was delicious. I believe my server was the owner Sarah and she was super friendly. I can't wait to go back and try more. The bar also had a very good selection of some hard to find liquor. read more

Overheard a heated interaction between workers right next to our table, food took almost 30min, pancakes were very dense and hash browns were greasy, 2 fruit bowls were $15 and neither were halfway full in the bowl they came in, the fiesta bowl was a plate of lettuce, beans, and cheese with cold chicken and a dressing that tasted very much like Clorox and was the most expensive dish we ordered at $24, our server was friendly but seemed busy, while he did check on us before our food came he wasn't able to after we got our plates, another worker brought our bill. Hopefully they can improve their menu and portions. read more

The restaurant is esthetically appealing, and I feel like that is what they primarily care about. The service was okay but not inviting. The food was good but overpriced and I was willing to overlook that. The reason why I am writing this is because of how ridiculous it is that they charge the customer $4 to pay with a card.......that along with the service will keep me away read more

We just came here for brunch and have been here several times before, Food and service was excellent those times. However this time the service by our waitress was absolutely horrible. Sat down, ordered and waited for our food. We let at least a half hr pass by before saying anything about our order. We then asked our waitress about our order and all she said was our kitchen is backed up. No apology and she really seemed like she didn't care. She could have easily told us that in the beginning when we ordered, but no we had to track her down. So we sat another 20 minutes, she again never came by. Enough was enough, got up and left after wasting an hour of our time. Horrible service. read more

The service was great. Had the eggs benedict and upgraded to a fruit bowl for my side. The ham Benedict was great, hollandaise sauce was great and the fruit was fresh. My husband had the trio of Benedict's (ham, California, and carnitas); the carnitas was his favorite. Worth the trip from Hacienda Heights. read more

So impressed! Took my best friend for her birthday dinner here. The staff was warm & welcoming! Sam our waitress recommended the patio and all of tables had fresh flowers. Sam took our orders and she was knowledgeable, friendly & kind. The best service I have had in years. Sam recommended some great appetizers and drinks and they were all spot on! The bartender was nice as well. They filled our water continuously & never rushed us. Great menu, great food and amazing staff. Please go check it out and ask for Sam. read more

Great owners and staff. Great food-breakfast, lunch and dinner. We visit several times a month. Love the avocado toast.

Been there 3 times, once for dinner (loved the sea bass), twice for breakfast (food was mostly good). After our first time, we strongly recommended Our Nest to our friends and family who also enjoyed it. We are locals and really wanted to love this place because it is family owned, but based on our most recent experience, we will not be back, and we can no longer recommend it. Apparently, the owners have no tolerance for customers who express any sort of dissatisfaction about their dining experience. Instead of taking our complaints (extremely slow to bring out our meals, one of them was largely inedible) constructively, the owner became rude, defensive and confrontational and just kept escalating things despite my calm requests that he just stop and please bring our check so that we could just pay and leave. In the end, he called me rude and blurted out "we don't want your money". So, we got up and quietly left. . . perplexed and honestly, shocked. As we drove home, we couldn't believe what just happened. I thought maybe ours was an isolated experience but based on other Yelp customer reviews expressing similar hostile encounters with the owners, it looks like there is a definite pattern at this otherwise fine establishment. The owner's responses to those reviews proves the point, going so far as to call one of their customers a liar. Makes me wonder if there isn't something else going on here because I've never been treated like this in a restaurant. Not even close. Bottom line, if the food or service at Our Nest is not to your expectations, don't think that your complaints will be well taken. read more

Really cool place! My wife took me here for breakfast and it was wonderful! My wife had the churro French toast and I had the steak and eggs. As someone who cooks 5 nights a week and usually disappointed when I go out, this was such a breath of fresh air. My wife's French toast looked insane and she said it was amazing. My breakfast wasn't just any old steak and eggs, this was a 16oz 45 day dry aged bone in New York. The eggs are sourced from a local farm in Chino. Not to mention they have a full bar and I saw the way the bartender was pouring. . You won't be disappointed. Do your self a favor and get over here for a great meal! read more
