Came here with a large group of family over Labor Day weekend. It took a while to get seated, but I think that's par for the course at most hibachi restaurants. Once seated, everything went pretty smoothly. I had the Chef's Special which comes with steak, shrimp, and calamari. If I went again I would've gotten the filet and shrimp, which is what my wife had. Osaka is a great place if you want to experience hibachi and not break the bank. Our waitress was also decent. The hibachi chef was good, but it was very methodical/scripted without the fun banter between the chef and audience. I tried the steak and scallops and both were cooked well. This restaurant has really gone downhill. The quality of their food is lacking, the cleanliness of the entire facility is terrible, and their customer service is horrible. Frankly, it's almost as if from the management standpoint they are indifferent if you have a complaint, because they don't seem to have a problem with customers coming through their door. I had a GREAT experience here...my fiancé, on the other hand did not. So I will synthesis the dine in moment. We want food over entertainment and opted out of the hibachi experience. Immediately being seated, a chair that hugs all four corners of my increasingly fluffy body welcomed me to stay awhile. I ordered the filet and tempura shrimp meal. My fiancé order a chicken and tempura shrimp dinner with veggies...or so she said. The waitress was poliet until the food came out wrong. My food came out perfect. The filet was cooked to my liking and the shrimp awakened a heartfelt thank you to our fishermen. Yes! Thank you my fisher family! The foods temperature could have been hotter. At least it was made correct....whereas on the other side of the table, her food stare made my food feel artic. So I allowed her to eat one, only one, shrimp! Her shrimp came out grilled instead of tempura. Not a big issue. The issue was the servers attitude. Which again made the food even colder. My favorite hibachi in Tulsa. They have the traditional hibachi fare (your choice of meat with shrimp appetizer, vegetables, fried rice, bean sprouts, green tea, ice cream). The food is great quality and the service is generally very good. There is often a wait, so reservations are helpful. Part of why I'm partial to this hibachi place over others is their sushi. When everyone wants hibachi, but I'm not super hungry, their sushi is the perfect compromise! I like any of their basic spicy rolls, the sooner roll and the mango salmon roll. Their sushi is fresh and the quantity is generous. Bonus: I can still eat hibachi off my husband's plate bc who can finish all of that food?!?! And it's the best of both worlds! read more

On top of this, the chairs looked and felt like they were made for people who weighed at least four hundred pounds. My server never checked on me for refills and my hibachi vegetables were cold by the time I finished my steak, which only took about three minutes. The sauces probably came straight out of the walk-in, but the steak, rice, and miso tasted good. I do not recommend this place for anybody who just wants some lunch. Went there for dinner tonight for a birthday but highly disappointed. The main lady that was seating people was very rude and one guy on wait staff very rude. After waiting at our table for 50 minutes a nice young waiter came to get our order. He didn't know why no one had helped us. This was our first time at Osaka. We frequent another restaurant that is the same style and atmosphere. The first issue was the inattentive service. We sat down and waited about 15 minutes before we were asked for our drink order. Another 15 minutes before we received drinks. We did not order alcohol. There were no refills, nor did the waitress come back to our table. The chef was good and friendly, and the food quality was good, but I didn't care for some of the flavors.(not the restaurants fault). The rice wasn't cooked very well and the flavor was sweet. I was appalled at how this restaurant is NOT following safety protocol for Covid-19. There were 6' stickers placed on the floor. They were not following their own guideline as the waiting room was crammed shoulder to shoulder. There were door/window stickers reminding folks to mask up. Half were NOT wearing masks and half were wearing masks INCORRECTLY. Finally, no separation between customers at the hibachi. People were crammed together like sardines! WE LEFT! What good is having stickers and signs and rules if you won't enforce them? You did nothing about this, even though you were asked. All in all, NO Covid-19 guidelines were NOT being followed whatsoever in this establishment. I guess making the most money possible trumps safety measures for your patrons. Because of this, you have become THE BIGGEST, NASTIEST CESSPOOL IN TULSA. You should WANT to keep your customers safe at your restaurant. Our experience was so bad I'm writing a review - which I have said I would never do. First, the hostess really never spoke in an actual sentence. She seemed very young and clearly had no help from other staff. We were seated, ordered food and 50 minutes later had not received our food, no one came to check on us and our hibachi was disgustingly dirty. I went to the hostess stand to ask about our food (several servers were sitting together in the empty bar, every other table had food) and not a single employee who walked by me stopped or acknowledged I was there. It was almost 8:30pm and no other customers were standing there. When the young hostess finally came back to the hostess stand, she 1) said "no" when I asked if there was a manager and 2) said "no" when I said our table hadn't been served food (no chef had come). Nothing more than "no". I'm not even sure what she was trying to say. About 10 minutes later, a chef arrives. Doesn't greet us. Just starts cleaning the hibachi, which takes another 10 minutes. He confirms each person's order and has my husband's order wrong. He then looks at his cart of food and shrugs. Later we realize he just decided to make do with what he had, which wasn't enough. He cut some of the shrimp in half to spread it out. Then, he served up all by many 6 pieces of chicken but hadn't served me any (which I had ordered) and when I said "oh, I ordered chicken" HE JUST SHRUGGED AND SAID "OH SORRY" and that was it. The women's room was absolutely disgusting. We had to ask for our bill twice and then waited forever in a mostly empty restaurant to get my credit card back. Osaka has been our family's fun special event place. Tonight was my daughter's 18th birthday dinner. It was beyond disappointing. We won't be back, we'll be going to Tokyo Garden. read more

I came in with a large group of friends and family and had the hibache experience. Overall not bad but after one visit im not sure if a return trip will occur. Before reading on I encourage you still to try this place out if youve never been. 1. Our drink and entree order waiter did a good job overall. One person in our party didnt get their steamed rice and it had to asked for. Small issue and was quickly fixed. Did a decent job with getting our drinks and keeping them fresh. 2. The chef wasnt very engaging. Having been to a good number of hibache spots accross the US I have been spolied to a "Show" and where the chef was nice, he didnt wow us at all. 3. It was LOUD inside. The group i was with wanted to converste as it was so loud. The eating area is one open area with a lot of tables. All the clanging and fellow partons talking fills the air and there arent any partitions to break up the noise. 4. The decor inside is very nice and easy on the eyes 5. Overall the wasnt gross. We got wher we ordered whicjlh is good but paid a premium for a not premium experience. Please make your own judgement and still at least give it a shot. read more

So this place is hit or miss for me. We've been here several time for family events..mainly birthday dinners. The seafood is fresh.. vegetables always look great and all though this plays stays crazy busy all the time, it's very clean. The hit & miss part all depends on the experience your hibachi Chef gives you. You either get the guy that rattled off what you ordered.. cooks the food.. cleans his station & departs with a "Thank you good night" or you get the chef that really puts on a Show, jokes around.. interacts with the guest & really shows some genuine Concern for delivering on a memorable night.. these are the nights I want to give this place 5 stars.. the other nights I want to give it a 2. I'd recommend for dinner definitely setting a reservation, especially if you have than 4 attending. read more

Brought my son for his 13th birthday and told 2 different people that we were celebrating. Three of the people in our 5 person group ordered steak and shrimp off the adult menu. The cook gave my children 4 pieces of shrimp each, gave another adult who didn't order shrimp some, extra to another couple and only had 2 left for my boyfriend who had also ordered shrimp. The cook made him more but did nothing for my kids that he had clearly shorted. When he split the meat he gave them smaller portions as well. If we had ordered children's meals this would have been acceptable but $25 dollars each for smaller portions really upsets me. The cook was in training and our entire experiencewas lackluster. They also did nothing for my sons bday. I didn't complain or want to make our experience any worse so the next day I called to verify that they usually sing, our meals should have come wirh at least 8-10 shrimp and to give the business a chance to make things right. The manager repeatedly told me I should have said something the night before and it was too late. She said I could come in and they would make us the missing shrimp. I am sure experience varies due to time, chef, etc. however our experience was excellent. We arrived at 9pm on Halloween night (the place was empty). We were seated properly, drinks and orders taken quickly and our chef arrived promptly. Food was cooked to perfection. The filet was absolutely delicious! Lobster was juicy and tender. The food was 10x better than Shogun and the portions much larger as well. Service was great! I do love the old aesthetic of Shogun, but Osaka definitely wins on price and quality of food by far. Went to dinner over the weekend and they ended up charging my friend's card three times and refused to refund her money. The waiter was terrible, had a bad attitude, and she was talking to us crazily. The "seasame chicken" wasn't seasoned or prepared as seasame chicken should be and the shrimp was only cooked in lemon juice and sprinkled with cilantro.
