Very disappointing. This used to be great! 60 degrees or colder. Waited for 45 minutes to get steak when we ordered chicken. They then left the rice to get cold and went and took another half hour to bring our plain chicken when we ordered teriyaki. There was only 5-6 pieces of zucchini for the veggies and then bean sprouts. The zucchini was super soft and slimy. Then we were charged double for our sushi rolls and had to go back for a correction. We've been coming here for over a decade. Never thought this would be the experience for a $50 lunch. We still have a $60.19 pending charge on a $46.62. Hanging on to the receipt in case it's not corrected. read more

Honestly the hibachi can be hit or miss, the first time I went it was amazing but the second time I went back the hibachi chef used wayyy too much soy sauce and everything was way too salty. I love that they also have normal sit down tables though since that's my favorite way to eat there. It's a bit quieter and less packed. Their sushi is so fresh and amazing, I'm a bit picky when it comes to sushi and theirs is one of my favorites in Tulsa so far. read more

My daughter wanted to go to Osaka for her birthday and so we did. While we don't make it here often, we absolutely love it! The setting, the staff, the food...all AMAZING! It was a Saturday night and they were busy, but we were still seated within 10 minutes. My daughter got sushi and then we all go hibachi. We had steak, scallops, and chicken. All were delicious. The salad and soup to start are so good. The dressing on the salad is light and gingery. The chef was fun and entertaining. The scallops were absolutely delicious. Finished the night off with strawberry and chocolate ice cream. Highly recommend over the other hibachi restaurants in town. read more

So I frequent this location often BUT to my surprise I ended up ordering sushi this time and have before which I've always said it was the freshest around Tulsa. NO!! The rice was obvious left over and tasted like mush, VERY BAD!! Please do better Osaka read more

I feel this place has gone a little downhill. I still enjoy the lunch special but it's definitely smaller servings and the service is OK but they could use some extra help. If you're not doing the hibachi, you're pretty much ignored and have to ask for anything you need. The food is still OK and the lunch deal is still a great special but honestly, the sushi is where it's at. It's really good. It's very affordable and I always enjoy the sushi. From now on I think I'll stick with that when I go here. read more

The lunch sets are reasonably priced especially on the weekend. $12.50 for salmon. I asked if the lunch sets includes the hot green tea. The waitress said it is only for dinner. I said I only want it if it's complimentary. My husband ordered the steak and scallop (dinner). The waitress reiterated that the hot green tea is only for dinner. We asked her if my husband's order was dinner. We ended with a small pot of hot tea for both of us and were charged for it ($2.50). Did not get any refills. The tea was lukewarm and was just enough for four small teacups. Everyone was waiting around for our check after we were done eating and the ice cream was not served. This place is an absolute joke. The wait staff is incredibly rude and the hibachi cooks aren't much better. The waitress barely spoke and left our drinks empty. The cooks threw our food on our plates so sloppily and had zero personality as well. My wife's filet mignon tasted no different than my ribeye. This was our first time to visit Osaka since they first opened. We were happy with the service from our waiter and impressed how huge this place is! We were there on a Friday evening and the wait was was not long! Our cook was Sebastian and he was entertaining and engaged with the customers. The food he prepared was seasoned well and done to perfection. I had Hibachi Shrimp, really tasty and my wife had Hibachi Lobster. It was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. No fishy smell like some other places we have visited. We will definitely visit again soon and recommend this restaurant. The Hibachi menu includes your choice of protein but also includes salad, soup, fried rice, vegetables with bean sprouts. No noodles like other Hibachi style. Choice of ice cream flavors. I used to frequent Osaka for the hibachi, but I have recently stopped visiting because of the service. I ordered the Osaka Favorite to go which is filet mignon and lobster. However, the "lobster" I received was shrimp. I know they usually provide shrimp in addition to what is ordered, but I received mostly shrimp and very little lobster. I called to have the issue rectified and was told that I apparently didn't know the difference between the two. I decided to stop eating here due to this. The food is consistently good and well prepared. I LOVE the fried rice, but I would recommend dining in and eating at the hibachi grill so that you're able to see what you've ordered being cooked. My husband and I were attending his friend's birthday dinner. The inside is very nice and the set up around the grill was nice and cozy. You are able to see all of the tricks with the food without the view being obscured. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very efficient and helpful. The food was all delicious. They brought us a small salad with a house dressing that was sweet with ginger in it that was pleasing. They also had a sort of broth soup with mushrooms and onions that was good. Then came the main course that is prepared in front of you. After we ate (we all needed to go containers) they brought dessert! You had your choice of vanilla, chocolate or strawberry ice cream. I had a horrifying experience at Osaka restaurant that I'll never forget. On Sunday, my family and I went there for my birthday celebration. When I received my scallops, they looked suspiciously undercooked. Despite my concerns, the chef insisted they were fine. Unfortunately, I trusted him and shared a few with my husband. Within hours, we were both violently ill with food poisoning. My husband's symptoms lasted a day, but mine dragged on for two miserable days, forcing me to seek urgent medical attention. The doctors confirmed it was food poisoning from the undercooked scallops. When I contacted the restaurant to report the incident, I was met with utter disrespect. The owner/manager refused to identify himself and flatly denied any wrongdoing. They refused to take responsibility or offer any compensation for the severe illness they caused. I lost pay for two days of not being able to work as well. I've filed a complaint with the health department and urge others to avoid this unprofessional and dangerous establishment. Their negligence cost me my health. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I visited Osaka on November 20th, 2023 for a Thanksgiving office lunch party with about 14 co-workers. Though I've visited other Hibachi grills, it was my first time visiting this location. My boss suggested it so it must have been good. Naturally, it did not disappoint. I arrived close to 11:45am and waited for the rest of the party. Almost exactly at 12pm, given the party size, we were seated at 2 separate tables. The restaurant was marvelously fitted with Christmas decorations that included Japanese light fixtures, lit spruces, decorated wreaths and a huge Christmas tree with presents underneath. It all was accented well with red chairs and wooden tables throughout. We were seated at the grills which has windows along the walls, allowing for plenty of natural lighting. The waitress brought water to the group and took everyone's order one-by-one. She had a true urgency about her and it felt like she truly cared for our experience and every individual at the table. I ordered chicken & shrimp fried rice. The hibachi chef came shortly after we were seated and begin doing his thing! We all know what the hibachi show will be and, yet, I'm still captivated by it each time. He performed the onion fire tower/volcano, shrimp tosses, egg catch-then-crack, the works (etc.)! "Hooray" yelled the party. Within it all, the fried rice heart was perfectly portioned to those who ordered it, including me. When the show was over, I enjoyed my tender-cooked shrimp and chicken. The rice was soft and bouncy, a perfect compliment to the protein. I left beyond satisfied with my experience. In fact, I've been waiting for the right occasion to return! Asian food, especially Japanese cuisine, is always a treat. But when you combine the comfort of the food with outstanding service, exquisite ambiance and a captivating showmanship, it becomes a worthwhile experience. I love the food here. They are usually always pretty fast for service not to mention the cost of everything is pretty low compared to other places that I've been to. This is a great place if you are trying to do a dinner party for someone's birthday or celebration. read more

Soup, salad, fried rice... was great! I hardly got any veggies, I was the last one he served, and i got almost all onions, 2 mushrooms and 1 piece of zucchini. So that was disappointing. The streak had a lot of fat on it. I felt embarrassed sitting with strangers and then having to secretly spit the fat into the napkin. Sorry if TMI lol. The taste of all the food was good tho, and the presentation was fun. Ice cream was yummy too! So I still will give it 4 stars. I would return. read more

Excellent table top show and tremendous food... my crew eats the beef filet and chicken or both.. we double the fried rice to take one home always... fun atmosphere and everyone there seems to really enjoy themselves.. it's our kids' special request place and yet we love going whenever we can! read more

It was a miserable experience. Food was okay. Service was okay. No air conditioning, chefs did not come out until all the hibachi tables were full and I counted 4 chefs, so maybe half, drinks got hot due to temps... I'd rather get hibachi somewhere else. read more

The food is excellent, but we had a little wait. We were looking around how dirty it was. The cubicle where the employees stood had dust and lint on it, we looked up to the lamp shades. They were definitely covered in dirt and dust. So we really started looking around and saw that most everything was covered in lint, dust and dirt. The air vent above table was the most disappointing. That could have been falling right on our food. We didn't use the restroom but I saw another review about how dirty they were. Food was mediocre, service was very slow for a Monday evening. Hibachi chef was good. Most of the restaurant staff appeared confused and unorganized. The bar area was not impressive, it was not well maintained or clean. The bar was located back in a strange secluded area close to the kitchen. Lastly the restrooms are located at the entrance and they were filthy with clogged toilets and paper everywhere, they smelled so strongly you could smell them when you walked in the front entrance of restaurant. It is very unfortunate that this beautiful location has been let go and appears to be going downhill. read more

Restaurant interior, including the disgusting lobby with a prevalent odor of pee near the rest rooms, was not the best atmosphere to sit and wait. When I placed my hands on my chair to sit down at a hibachi area, my hands literally stuck to the wood. Felt like it had never been cleaned. Litter on the floor during our walk to our table and the place felt just like a greasy spoon. The two items my wife liked coming here for. Third time in a row, over a period of a couple years, where they don't have either. This time, they said they will no longer be carrying it. First off, I would like to state that prior to this experience....it has always been 4-5 stars. I should should also state we are very very frequent customers. However, tonight has most likely changed that. My husband and I both ordered Filets, we were given regular steak instead of filets and they were overcooked. My husband asked the cool "KK" about it and he quickly was combative saying it was filet. There's a major difference in size, raster and texture between filet and the regular steak that is much thinner. I asked to speak to the manager as we just wanted what we had ordered. While speaking to the manager, a person from the kitchen brought out 2 filets for the cook "KK" to cook for us because apparently some other cooks had taken notice and was trying to remedy the situation. The cook "KK" then threw the bow containing the 2 filets onto his cart and yelled at the guy from the back who had brought them to him to fix for us. We didn't eat the regular steaks as they were not what we had ordered and were overcooked as well (well well done instead of medium). Then the manager asked our Waiter to have us put the wrong steaks we were served into a dish for him to take back before our check would be amended to no include the filet portion of the meal. Keep in mind, we were done with the rest of our meal at this point and it was blatantly obvious we weren't eating the regular overcooked steak we received instead of the filets and we definitely weren't planning on taking them with us. After about 25 yrs of loyal patronage, we may try making another place like Tokyo Garden or Shogun as our hibachi destination. I will state that the newer Waiter showed much much more professionalism than the cook. Highly disappointed that management didn't make this right, she was standing right there when the cook "KK" threw the filets on the cart that the person brought him and had a major egotistical meltdown. read more

I am going to assume anyone who rates this place highly has not enjoyed their main competitor, Tokyo Garden. My pros and cons are comparing it to TG'a hibachi. Pros - Nice, modern atmosphere. - Hibachi tables are larger/newer. - You receive more shrimp. Cons - No garlic sauce. This was the largest disappointment to me. - No noodles apart from the fried rice. You receive bok choy instead. - Service was slower. We waited at least 20 minutes to order drinks on a Tuesday night at 8:30pm. They could at least take drink orders even if the food needs to wait. - Cabernet by the glass tasted horrible. - Salad was not as good; pre-made and was soggy. Overall, the vibe of this place feels nice but I prefer to get more bang for my buck and better taste elsewhere. It was fun to try, but we won't go back. read more
