Located off Brookside, parking is easy with street parking and lots across the street and behind the restaurant. Inside is dark, intimate, and cool--I especially love the giant fish tank. We tried several rolls, but the Volcano was THE winner. The Don Juan and Spider were also delicious, and I added jalapeño to the Philadelphia roll because jalapeños make almost everything better. Service was attentive. Our server had a sarcastic sense of humor that wasn't totally my vibe, but he meant well and took good care of us. If sushi isn't normally your thing, get the Volcano Roll. I had a tuna roll and it was really good and did not cause me any digestive problems in spite of the fact that I am very sensitive. Ordered edamame as appetizer - some pieces were dry and old and broken, some were missing the beans inside - they charge $7 for this. Then I ordered their "spicy curry seafood soup" - see pic, $16. This is not a soup but an awful, watered down liquid with a hint of curry taste. Besides the liquid that came in a small bowl, this dish came with a crab stick, a chunk of overcooked salmon, two small boiled and tasteless shrimp and two lonely slices of cucumber that started to rot at the skin- there were two soft brown pots in two places. I tried a few of their rolls and they were all super fresh. The fish tasted clean and buttery, especially the salmon. I loved how the rice was slightly warm and well seasoned. Went to Sushi Hana for a little early dinner a little after 4:30 and only ones there so it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed sitting by the tank and watching the fish! Our server was training and both of them were very attentive to us and checked on us and gave us time as we couldn't make up our mind on a roll. This is the only sushi place in Tulsa I would take my friends from Oklahoma City to because Sushi Hana is the best sushi restaurant in Tulsa. I came with 2 friends after work around 5:30 PM as I wanted to introduce them to my new favorite sushi place. We ordered the black pepper tuna which was equally divided among three guests. The tuna slices were thin but tasted great. I am a big fan of the sumo salad after my first dining here so naturally ordered it right away. To me this is the best salad of any sushi places in Tulsa. It was again great and big enough to share. For the special rolls, we tried the volcano, tsunami, black samurai, and crazy Suzanne roll. Previously I have tried the tuna Hana roll. They all were great but if I have to rank from best to worst, it would be in the following order: 1. Crazy Suzanne 2. Black samurai 3. Tuna Hana 4. Tsunami 5. Volcano We had some questions regarding the big fish in the fish tank and asked the waitress who then mentioned to the owner. He came by, introduced himself, and talked about the fish. My friends had a good time and seemed to like the place. The place is dim lit and got busy and noisy by the time we finished which was around 7PM. From the minute you walk it, it is a relaxing yet elegant environment. Definitely check out the fish tank. Our waitress was lovely and really quick to address our allergy (sesame and mushroom) needs to ensure our food met our needs. I really enjoyed the gyoza with just the right amount of crunch. The house rice with chicken and shrimp was a dish I really enjoyed. My friend enjoyed her monster roll. An absolutely wonderful experience all around! Right after we were seated, our server, Virginia, was immediately there to take our drink orders. As she was placing our drinks before us, she asked if we would like anything from the menu along with our sushi bar items. She provided professional and welcoming service the entire evening. Since this was our first visit to Sushi Hana, we did order a bit more than we should have and each piece was even more delicious than the last (try the monster roll, and definitely the creation roll)! This was surprising since it was a Friday evening and all five or so of the sushi chefs were working very quickly to get everything out to all of the customers. Nice patio. Nice fish tank. Expensive Samurai salad was barely edible- flavors were off: all wasabi and pepper. They forgot the avocado and had to refer to the menu to make sure I was entitled to the tiny sliver they brought me for my lousy salad. Got ice cream to fill the hole. Wine pours were scant- they claimed five ounces but barely filled one quarter of glass. Very expensive lunch. Not a satisfying experience by any means. Clearly struggling financially. read more

The waitress (Marrissa) gave the guest of honor a type of liquor she did not request and when the guest noticed it, the waitress admitted "I substituted it and didn't think you would notice". They also got her order wrong twice (no meat). Service was extremely slow and there was a guest that received her food after everyone else had nearly completed their meal. When that guest asked to speak to the manager, the owner is the one who came to address the concern. The owner was rude and told us "it's 10 o'clock", even though our reservation was at 8, orders were taken between 8:30-8:45 and the entrees took over an hour to arrive. This is one of my favorite restaurants so I frequent it often. There is a parking lot in the back of the building which is nice. The service is always top-notch. Kenny is usually the one that welcomes us during the weekends. He's always very friendly and helpful. It's amazing how much experience he brings (over 30 years) and the talent he has developed in his Master Chefs. The space itself is very spacious and it is great for groups. I like to sit by the aquarium to see the beautiful fish. As far as drinks, my boyfriend enjoys ordering the Sapporo Bear. I like the sparking sake, Ozeki Hana Fuga, which has a sweet peach flavor. The Jalapeño Poppers are my favorite appetizer - deep fried jalapeños stuffed with cream-cheese and variety of fish, dipped in tempura batter. You can also never go wrong with the edamame - lightly salted soybeans steamed in the pod. As far as entrees, we have three main favorites that we always order. The Monster is the first one - tuna, salmon and avocado topped with crispy smoked eel tempura. The second one is the Golden Mango - shrimp tempura and crab meat topped with butterfly shrimp and mango slices. Finally, the Lobster Mango - spicy and crunchy lobster, topped with slices of fresh mango and avocado. Leave room for dessert! The cheesecake tempura is great! Obnoxious acoustic performance on the patio made it impossible to hold a conversation without leaning forward to the point of herniating a disc. Okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point. Positive: the decor is beautiful and cool, blue lighting gave a relaxed atmosphere. Food wise, not great. I happened to be doing some business on Brookside the other day... okay, so I was picking up some new glasses because I'm getting old... when I noticed Sushi Hana across the street. Ever a fan of sushi, and always looking for a new place to try, I took advantage of the opportunity. First impression was... it's dark inside. Not the creepy uncomfortable noir dark like a vintage detective flick... the "let's meet someplace where no one can see us even if they're sitting at the next table" kind of dark. Honestly, it was a little much for me personally, and I almost whipped out my phone's light to see the menu by. A little ambience can go a long way, and this went too far, again, in my personal opinion. Now, on to the important stuff. Service was great, with my server paying close attention to me and making sure I was taken care of. Not being overly hungry, I settled for a basic Philadelphia Roll and the eel roll. Both were solid and well done. Flavors were all on point, and I was pleased with every aspect of the flavor profiles. The size of the pieces and quantity were a little smaller than most sushi places I habit, but I still came away satisfied. I'm quite sure some of their more signature rolls would be awesome, and if opportunity presents, I plan on finding out at some point in the future. Overall, I was satisfied on all points of my grading scale, and give Sushi Hana a 4/5 stars. BTW... I didn't take any pics because.... well, it was too dark. :) read more

The BEST Japanese cuisine in Tulsa. (I've tried most of them.) Rather dark, Japanese interior and decor. Excellent service. The food is prepared by three active chefs who know their business. Got to hang out with a cousin of mine tonight and after looking at some pictures on Yelp we decided to try Sushi Hana for our sushi craving. We arrived at 4:30 pm when they opened the doors and were quickly seated at a two top table. After deciding that we would probably need a bigger table if we ordered a lot of items our server seated us across the walk way to a four top. First let me say that the inside of this restaurant was very nice! The decor was modern but elegant. The mood and atmosphere of the place would be perfect for a date but still casual enough to go out with friends and hang out. So cool but not stuffy! In the front part of the restaurant is a huge fish tank which was a neat focal point and the dark wood tables and heavy wood chairs tied the rooms together quite nicely. There is also a bar and sushi area if you don't want to be seated out in one of the main dining areas. We started out with an order of edamame, pork gyoza and shumai for our appetizers. When I looked at the menu and saw that the appetizers we ordered were listed 1/2 off under the happy hour pricing I got excited. Unfortunately we were later told that we had to be physically sitting at the bar to enjoy those prices and since we didn't want to move we just paid the regular price. The gyoza and shumai I ordered were just ok. The shumai was very small and they didn't seem handmade but store bought. I've had better at other places so I probably wouldn't order them again. My cousin seemed to enjoy her edamame so that was good. After looking at the menu we ended up ordering a Hawaiian Sunrise Roll, a Tuna Hana Roll and a Four Seasons roll. I also ordered a drink called the 1876. The drink came out first and it was pretty good. It took a little bit of time for them to prepare our rolls but when they came out the presentation was very appealing. We both liked the rolls that we ordered. They were pretty, a good size and seemed fresh. Pit waiter Kaleb was awesome. Attentive but non intrusive. He asked us if we wanted to look at the menu to order dessert but we were both too full. We agreed this would be a place we would visit again and called it a night. So for my first visit here I was pretty pleased with my sushi experience. There are quite a few interestingly worded rolls on the menu that I would like to come back and try. My favorite sushi spot in Tulsa by far! We recently moved from New York and we're thrilled to find Sushi Hana early on. We were so excited to have found a sushi spot with fresh, creative dishes and a wonderful staff. My wife and I visit or order from there weekly and have a 5 star experience every time. Their non-sushi dishes are also quite good, though I usually stick to the Okason, candy crush, or tuna Hana roles. Also the nagiri is quite fresh, and nicely portioned.
