Wow, I had not been to Wafu in a while, and now I wish I had waited longer to return. I was surprised at how far the quality and value had fallen. Fried rice was mushy and soaked in oil. Orange chicken was way too sweet (sesame oil over the top!), and was accompanied by more mushy fried rice. Appetizer egg rolls were ok, not great, but the waitress was dumbfounded when we requested dipping sauce for the egg rolls. She stated that she had never heard of anyone using a dipping sauce for egg rolls. Tab for two lunch entrees and one appetizer was nearly $50. Very cute place, it was clean and welcoming! We ordered fried rice with veggies, it was a huge amount but so wonderful! There was a nice sauce, not too soupy or too dry- perfect. We're also tried the ramen noodles with chicken, the flavor of the soup was amazing. Our daughter had the bagel roll with smoked salmon. She said it's the best she's had around here. We got the O.M.G, Monster and California rolls. This was sub par sushi at best. The texture and consistency of the fish was not good, flavor was mediocre and the rolls fell apart with chopsticks. We definitely won't be back. The place on the other side of the highway is much better. read more

Everything was great quality. Very good sticky rice. The rolls were a touch big but also easy to chew through. The ginger salad is very gingery, loved it. Would definitely go again. If you are a ramen snob you wont be impressed / if you are hard up for a ramen fix, its good. Details / petty critique: We had a philly role as an appetizer. Waitress seemed put out to bring extra wasabi & ginger, as both were very minimal. My pork broth ramen (I forget what it's called on the menu ) which I ordered spicy, had slices of porkbelly in it that were too thick and not as tender as they should be. This was the number one key that let me know this place was not a hard-core serious ramen joint. However, I still enjoyed my bowl of ramen and the portion was large. After a few years we decided to give Wafu another try and we are glad we did! They completely redeemed themselves and we will definitely be back! The exterior could've looked a little better but we went on inside being committed to trying them out again. We walked in and they were BUSY which spoke for itself immediately that they had to be better than they were. We were seated promptly and drink orders were taken quickly. They didn't have juice as the menu indicated but our daughter was good with lemonade instead. I ordered a glass of moscato and my husband had a Sapporo. We ordered edamame for an appetizer. I had a side salad with ginger dressing. The ginger dressing was similar to what I've had at hibachi restaurants but a little sweeter but was definitely good. It was just the same stuff as a bag salad though and I thought a few more things would've made it better..like some other veggie or the crunchy wonton strips. I also had the OMG roll and it was a 10/10! Our daughter had the kids chicken ramen and loved it and our son had the regular chicken ramen bowl and they both gave glowing reviews. My husband had the General Tso's chicken and an Angry Dragon roll, I stole a bite of both and they definitely passed the taste test! Japanese Style! There was just not much to get excited about at Wafu. The meals were very average. No distinct flavor or presentation that will bring me back. My wife had the Hawaiian Bowl. The coconut fried shrimp and crab meat in the bowl, were very good. I wanted to try the one of the Donburi meals. Most of them had seaweed salad. That's a no go for me, so I went with the Spicy Chicken Ramen. Not spicy at all. Bland and boring. It needed a good dose of sriracha sauce, but the spout on the bottle was incrusted with what appeared to be very old dried sriracha sauce boogers, as was every other bottle on every other table. Pass. I don't understand why restaurant's take a few minutes and clean the condiment bottles. It makes a hell a of a difference in the customers perception of the restaurant. The Crab Rangoon was decent with a good dipping sauce. There was a little communication barrier. The waitress was somewhat difficult to understand, and she had difficulties understanding us. I was nervous going here because the reviews were mixed but I am so glad I went. I crave ramen often and I hate driving to Jinya when I live in Collinsville. Now I don't have to! This ramen was incredible!! Full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and so fresh. I will be eating here often! Half the price of expensive ramen spots in Tulsa and better than most of them!! I had garlic tonkotsu and I could tell it was made with love. The broth was creamy and had plenty of garlic. The pork belly was cooked well. The presentation was nice too. I've been waiting for WaFu to open ever since I heard about them. I genuinely had high hopes since their menu looked so interesting. Sadly, they did not meet my expectations on my first (and probably last) visit. We arrived at 11:54am on a Friday. I say this because I made a note of the time to check the ticket time, which was abysmal. Our take out order, which was 3 items and an appetizer took almost 25 minutes. Which would have been fine had it been worth waiting for. The Boy ordered Pork Tonkatsu. Being a picky eater, all he wanted was meat and rice. He got that along with corn, broccoli and a boiled egg, none of which he likes. The menu lists it as "Lightly fried breaded pork cutlets served with tonkatsu sauce" that's it. That turned out to be a theme. The Kid just wanted chicken ramen with green onions. The entree lists with "Chicken Chashu, spicy bean sprouts, marinated egg and green onions. Choose your spicy level-mild, spicy or hot". So I ordered mild, no sprouts, no egg. As with The Boy's order, it was topped with corn, some type of brown stringy stuff and the boiled egg. By the time I got the unwanted stuff out, there was a mess on the countertop. The 'toppings' come in a bowl that nestles in a larger container holding the broth and your protein. Or in this case, her chicken. Which, by the way, was NOT chicken chashu, but just thin slips of boiled chicken breast. As it turned out, The Kid wouldn't eat it at all because in her words "There's no flavor" And there wasn't. The noodles had not a shred of taste in them at all. I wound up making her a bowl of Top Ramen, and she was happy. The Wife tried one of the fried dumplings and commented that they tasted just like we buy at Sam's. Make of that what you will. As for my Shoyu... again with the corn. I like corn, but only on the cob. I detest corn being added as a 'secret ingredient' only to bite into it. That's just me, so no one owns that except me. The dish had two thin slivers of pork that tasted heavily of being frozen and reheated. The noodles here flavorless, and the broth was insipid at best. Nothing in the entire dish was good. Add all that to a ridiculously long ticket time, and I don't predict a long future for WaFu. Who knows, there may be enough patrons in the area who aren't as picky as me. I hope so. I genuinely want any business to succeed, it just won't be on my dime. And speaking of my dime, the total came to almost $50, for ramen noodles. I can buy a lot of Top Ramen for that. read more

While in town on business, I tried Wafu not just once, but twice. Both times I was really disappointed. I figured after the first experience it might have been a fluke, so I went back a second time. There will not be a third mistake however. The first visit I dined in, alone, and the server staff member that sat me acted annoyed that I was dining in and seemed rude about me dining alone. It ordered a sushi roll (eel and avocado) and an order of takoyaki. The eel avocado roll was just ok, but the takoyaki was not even ok. There was maybe a pinky finger nail-sized piece of octopus in each deep fried ball. I didn't feel like that was acceptable for the price. The next visit, I arrived and was greeted at the door with "how can I help you?" I answered, "I'd like a table for one please." I was then asked if the four-seater table right next to the entrance was ok, to which I said "I'd like to sit away from the entrance please" and that was met with an eye roll and audible sigh. I was seated finally and a very kind server took my drink order and later my food order. In between receiving my drink and salad, a different server - the one from the first visit - came over and insisted that I needed to order to-go food as I was just sitting by myself. The kind server intervened and distracted the one who was insisting I leave and got her on to something else. I tried the chicken chashu ramen and it was just ok. It had three slices of chicken chashu and some other toppings. For the price, the protein serving was skimpy. I'm not sure why my dining alone bothered the same server twice. I was dressed professionally (have been working downtown in an office setting). I guess I could have come in like most others either in dangerously tight leggings or shorty shorts that reveal my posterior and maybe I'd have been treated better? Like others, maybe I should have ordered 17 sugar-laden boba teas for me and my 17 other teenage friends and been treated better? Like others, perhaps I should have brought three children under the age of four with me to scream, cry and throw food on the floor and I'd have been treated better? All of that said, the food wasn't good enough to warrant a third visit - I'll never be back. read more

Tonkastu is one of my all time favorite ramen flavor and we usually get it at every ramen shop for comparison. I'd say the tonkastu here isn't bad. It's flavorful and savory. I don't know why I haven't posted here yet about Wafu! When you walk in the atmosphere is calm and very cute! I love the anime themes soo much! I have tried the wafu ramen (no onions cause I just don't like onions haha) and for the price which is around $15 or so I'd say it's really great proportions! Fish cakes are really wonderful, bamboo was really good. The seasoned egg is JUST AMAZING. I loved the broth and the noodles, I just really love this place. My sister gets the coconut milk tea and I usually get the Thai tea! It's soo good, lord I love a good Thai tea. So far as I've experienced the staff is extremely nice and attentive and I've been here a few times now and never had a bad experience! The food here is not an issue, I enjoy the food. However one of the server here is the problem. We dine in and had a very nice and polite server. I ordered a beer and she ID me. Afterwords our server got an ear full from another server who wasn't even serving us asking over and over if I was ID and is she sure she ID me. This conversation went on for over an hour. We were so annoyed and we can hear everything they are saying. After getting tired of hearing our server get lecture over and over again, we ate our food in a rush and left! Ramen in Owasso! What nice addition to the food scene here. We walked by without knowing a ramen place was near by and decided might as well give it a go! The ramen portion was great for the price!! My boyfriend really liked his Wafu Tonkotsu ramen. I thought the menma overpowered the broth but the flavor was good. I got the gyudon and really loved the flavor and the beef was like butter. I just wish it was cut thinner and had more steak for the price. The rice was a little hard but the teriyaki sauce helped a little. My favorite part was the seasoned egg! It didn't look very appetizing because it looked overcooked but the flavor was TASTY! I could be happy with the seasoned egg and just rice. Service was great too. Very attentive staff. Next time I'll have to try their poke bowl and boba! They are new so it's not perfect but I can see lots of growth in the business!! read more
