I've had a lot of ramen from the West, East Coast, Japan, and Taiwan. Gung Ho's ramen is pretty legit. The tonkotsu broth is flavorful and creamy. A little bit of spicy is just right. The pork slices are smoky and the right amount of thickness (you get two). No random toppings like corn either. Authentic! The restaurant is cool too. Full of anime decor, spacious and clean. This is probably one of my top three favorite quick eats and healthy food stops. I typically come to either this location or the Tulsa Hills location at a minimum of once a week. I always get a sushi burrito or a sushi bowl. Sometimes I'll venture out and try some other things on the menu which have been so good. I typically go at odd hours and it's always populated. I absolutely love the bubble tea and so does my son. The service is so fast and the food is always fresh. Every time I come here, I love my food. Mostly because you can build your own with everything they have so it truly comes just how I want it. The new thing I tried this time was the crispy fried chicken and the Gyoza both were OK, but I have had better elsewhere. But my Poké bowl as always was great and my friend liked her Ramen, but it wasn't her number one Ramen in town. Also, I tried their new Vietnamese coffee with Boba and it was so good and really well priced. The portion sizes also did look smaller this time around, but still plenty of food for the price. You really can't get a better deal on a Poké bowl anywhere in town. I would like to start off this review by saying I wish I had gone here sooner. The establishment is well run and the food comes out almost immediately. They have a fast menu of drinks, Ramen, and poke bowl. We had the Poké bowls and they were phenomenal and reminded me of a place in town that used to have them. You can order exactly what you want on a sheet and give it to the cashier or you may order a premade menu item. we did not order any other items but will come back with my daughter who loves Boba and Ramen. When we sat down, we noticed that the tables all have sketchbook colored pencils to draw while you wait on your food. When your food is ready, they will buzz your buzzer and you will go and acquire whatever utensils you may need. The setting is a little overwhelming at first as the menu has a lot to offer, but otherwise the setting is down and cozy. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my poke lunch! I ordered delivery so I can't speak to the atmosphere, but my delivery driver was awesome! The food was great. I got several different sauces with the spicy salmon and spicy tuna. It was a generous portion with fresh ingredients. I especially loved the spicy mayo and creamy wasabi. The peach sauce was too sweet for my liking, but since it was on the side, no problem! I do wish there'd been more cherry tomatoes, but there was plenty of edamame and black beans. I did enjoy the milk crush, mango with chocolate boba. At $7.99 for delivery, I don't think I'll order it again though, but it's probably cheaper when you don't order through GrubHub. I did discover I don't like the boba, but that's on me. My order was exactly as ordered, and for two proteins and portion size, it was fairly priced. I definitely want to try more items! read more

If there is something I am not "Gung Ho" about this place is the tip. On what planet does the service provided at Gung Ho justify leaving a tip. You order at the counter and then is given a beeper. You pick up the food at the counter when it's ready and then find a table to eat. This is 99% self service so DO NOT feel obligated to tip. Should there even be an tip option? If there is, it SHOULD NOT exceed 10%. The best feature about Gung Ho is it's hip and trendy. I love the Japanese anime and the artwork decorations inside. There is a sketch book available at each table and various games available inside. If you're a fan of Japanese anime, you will love this place. The ramen is good, not the best but good enough to recommend. The boba tea is comparable to SOME other boba tea shops, pretty average. Poke bowls are also available as well which I haven't tried. read more

We recently tried Gung Ho for the first time, and it is a hit in my book. In fact, we found ourselves back here for a 2nd trip within a week or so of our first visit, because the kimchi fries are that addictive. The service has been very friendly and helpful each visit. The workers are personable and take the time to give you some guidance and recommendations for the Boba or tea drink flavor combos ( there are a lot of options.) The look and ambiance of this restaurant is a lot of fun as well. I love all of the anime art and the bright colors juxtaposed with the bamboo looking wood. As mentioned earlier, the kimchi fries are amazing and would be fit for any pirate king! I would be happy just eating those. It is a good sized order and enough to share for an appetizer. We have also tried the ramen, which was tasty, especially love the way they do their fried chicken here. You can also create your own sushi burrito here, which we did, and it was delicious. It kind of fell apart after a few bites, but it was so good, you don't really mind. Just grab some chopsticks or a fork and enjoy it. I think this is the first place new place that we have tried that I have been excited about in a long time. And now...I'm craving those kimchi fries after writing this! read more

The Kimchi Fries could be a meal on their own, they're super delicious! The Coconut Milk Tea was so creamy and flavorful, I loved it. The workers were nice and the restaurant was very clean. Every table had sketch books and colored pencils if anyone wanted to leave a drawing. The sketch books seemed pretty full so they might need to switch them out for fresh ones. I love having a place like this in south Tulsa! I first tried the ramen on one or wicked cold spells and it hit the spot. I chose the spicy pork ramen and it was delicious. Pros: my friend is a huge gung ho fan. Huge. To her, this is the best ramen in the city. None can match it. Cons: Don't come at me; I don't feel the same way. It's mediocre at best. But I've eaten at legit, real ramen places outside of Tulsa; she hasn't. Anyways, she's not a fan of this location because of the decor and the libation. I was sticking to the floor, and all the surfaces were slimy. -Service was mediocre...just a bunch of kids who really didn't care. -The fried food tasted like the oil was old. -I've microwaved better ramen at home. The Tulsa Hills location has none of the above problems and I recommend you go there instead. read more
