Asahi Roll #2 and Dragon Roll with Salmon Sashimi and Tuna Sashimi
Marissa S.

Asahi has the freshest fish in Tulsa! Chef and owner Rocky flies his never frozen sushi fish in from the coast to ensure it is the best quality. The wait staff are always friendly and attentive. The rolls are skillfully crafted and the Bento boxes highlight the chef's cookery and flavor building. There are an array of seating options to accommodate parties of 1 to parties of a dozen. Since the 1980's, Asahi has been a reliable and consistent staple in Tulsa cuisine that you don't want to miss out on!

This is one of the bento boxes. I did not get a picture of the miso soup.

The food was amazing. Service was attentive and friendly. It was bountiful for the price. The portions were delightfully surprising and delicious. The atmosphere was perfect for a lunch or a romantic dinner.

Went for lunch and really enjoyed my meal. Now that Sobahn is no more this is the only sushi place in town that has the buy 3 or more regular rolls and get them half off. They also have a lot of unique rolls that remind me of Sobahn and I am ready to go back and try new things. The rolls are not fancy but they're fresh and good quality and great price.

This review is based on a single visit, but other than the great service (there was no one else in the restaurant), I wasn't super impressed with this place. I will say, the price point for the "half-price" rolls is unbeatable. The quality of the "half-price" rolls is pretty weak and did not taste fresh, but I enjoyed the rolls from the other side of the menu much more. The Tornado Roll was really good. The Mango Crunch Roll was also good. The Spider Roll was meh. I'm thinking they should raise the food quality bar a bit if I'm going to incorporate this restaurant into my Tulsa sushi rotation.

Two Crazy Crab rolls and one Ninja roll. So good!

Coming back to say that the sushi here is still solid. I have been ordering on DoorDash lately and everything is always fresh and delicious. I also really like their egg rolls and gyoza on their appetizer menu. Yum!

This place has been around forever and is just down the street from me, yet I've never been. I'll admit there better sushi places in town, but this place is far from terrible. Was a little alarmed when we are the only people in there for dinner and there was a white guy making the sushi, but there was nothing really to be worried about. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. Turns out a lot of there current business is through grubhub, etc. There literally was a driver popping in every five minutes for orders. Inside is small and a little dated, but it was extremely clean. The appeal here is that a lot of their nigiri and basic maki are halfed priced if you order more than 3.

Just moved here and so far I have not been impressed with any of the sushi here, even in the raw which people claim to love, but this place was good. It was really good for the price point! It was good sushi very well sliced at a very low price point so overall it's the best I've found here so far. Service was excellent, could tell they have regulars which always makes me feel good about a place, and everything was served at appropriate times in the meal (salad, sushi, rice bowl) not all places do that so I liked that a lot! My uncle got the octopus salad bowl and loved that and I got seaweed salad and tuna sushi which I thought was very good. only negative was the pink ginger. I did not get any rolls this time but I will try some next time I bring a less full tummy! I'll add more when I go back and try more options!

I take a lot of pride and what they do and that comes through in the food that they hand you. I also like that on the all-you-can-eat menu, you can half some of the portions. For example, if you want four pieces instead of eight pieces. Probably my only complaint would be that they get full and seating gets a little tight once in a while. It's a great problem to have for a place that has phenomenal food. This is a regular in our restaurant rotation. Fav dishes: I love the red dragon roll, Viva Lake (fried), cajun lobster roll, and their peppered salmon nigiri. You can do things off of their menu if you don't wanna do all you can eat and they have things other than sushi. Happy eating!

We have the edamame, side green salad, crunch roll, eel roll.. just to name a few items. On OUR END, those are what we enjoy while there. We would like to venture over to the bento options. The rice and teriyaki chicken is great for our small one. There is something on the menu for everyone. The wasabi and ginger on the trays are pretty good! I do recommend. We have tried more super sushi operations in Tulsa.. I hear some mention they won't eat seafood or sushi far away from the coastlines. That is totally understandable. Most are in fear of the food borne illness etc etc. We have been frequent visitors here. They also serve cooked and/or deep fried rolls; along with other hot food options on the menu. Hope y'all

Speaking of flavor, I'm sure the special blended soy sauce played a major part. On top of that, there's chili sauce at the table & that right there has a Shawn Michaels super kick to it. With the bowl being full of chicken along with the other components like fish cake, seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onion & a soft boiled egg (that's also flavored)... it's not even an overload. It's flavor on top of flavor on top of flavor. I couldn't even finish it & took it to-go. My waitress was super nice & the wait on my food didn't take long (they had a mini lunch rush when I got here). Outside of ramen, there's so much to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for ramen, sushi, bowls, etc... this is your spot. I was having a headache & really needed some food to help get rid of it (I was also in the area). Ramen usually does the trick & it prevailed as I started feeling better. Oishi came in the clutch.

The interior is contemporary. The bar looked fun and made good drinks. The view from the sixth floor is great and sunsets are spectacular. I'd love to be here on a night the baseball team is playing. Let's get to the main event. Edamame was great. What made it different was the salt on the pods. I couldn't place it and didn't ask but it just had a little "something something". Loved it. The recommended tuna nachos were a beautiful maguro cubed with two aioli sauces, jalapenos and some excellent restaurant made wonton(?) chips. Light and flavorful. Interestingly, we had to ask for a nigiri menu while the primary menu had all the appetizers, soups, salads, rolls and mains. Nigiri was good and your standard options. Rice ratio was good and fish well cut and prepared. Rolls were great size and two could feed two people. From the corporate operations director to the manager on duty last night, I will NEVER be doing business or dining with them ever again. The manager last night flat out called us out of our names using language I cannot even bring myself to type. In short, all because we asked for our proper change and for our tickets to be reworked. Every restaurant and place of business can do that with ease. That shouldn't call for us to be disrespected. It makes zero sense. Zero. We were respectful, pretty, and paid! We weren't "loud, ghetto, or any (special choice of words)". So with that being said, if you're brown, we're not welcomed there!!! This holds serious weight. This did happen. This will be dealt with in the proper way and through the proper channels. I do not tolerate disrespect of any form.

Yet and still, there are few restaurants that consistently deliver on 3 of the most important consumer qualities: ambiance, food, and service. As a local Asian Fusion restaurant that embraces both cuisine and ambiance, Roka sets itself apart from most Asian restaurants with their cutting-edge menu items, inviting happy hour deals and consistent service. I didn't eat out often growing up but I vividly remember passing Roka & fantasizing what it's like inside given it's one of a kind design. I was first impressed by their fried rice when ordering out in 2015 but this review is regarding my visit on October 25th, 2025. A dear friend of mine invited me out on a Saturday and I suggested Roka, one of the most reliable restaurants in town. We arrived around 4pm and, to my surprise, there was plenty of seating available. We were sat by the host and our server came shortly after. I can't recall her name but she did have great suggestions and delivered quality service. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken (reg) while my friend ordered the Sweet & Sour (sm.). The meal arrived in almost record time! I was delighted to look at our colorful, carefully assembled, plates. My meal had a considerable serving size and an even better taste. The chicken was soft, tender and juicy. With compliments from the peppers & rice, I couldn't have been more satisfied. My friend (who is picky) wasn't a fan of the mix of peppers & pineapple but I think she liked it more than she cared to admit. Overall, I had the most pleasant afternoon at Roka thanks to the everpleasing service and most tranquil of settings. It's important to show appreciation to the institutions that you enjoy, which is why I will continue to support/enjoy! Roka provides a welcoming venue, satisfactory menu items and superb service upon every visit which sets itself apart from most other Asian restaurants and above chains like P.F. Changs or Hibachis. Aside from that, they ordered things off the Happy Hour menu and were pleased. Dan and I got the 2 Happy Hour rolls. We would have loved "Some Like it Hot" without the hot sauce. The Dunwell roll is good if you like cream cheese in sushi rolls and many people do. There was a time when Dan and I loved that but now our sushi preference is nigiri and our roll preference is whatever is the closest thing you can get to nigiri. We also don't like signature cocktails. We prefer both our drinks and our sushi to be as close to pure as we can get: martinis and nigiri . We frequently attend Happy Hour at a different In the Raw. We find the service and ambiance better where we usually go. The sake at Brookside was not good. It had kind of a soapy taste. We got domestic beers for our second drinks. We forgot to ask for glasses. Service was slow so we just drank them from the bottle, which we hate to do. The main plus for the Brookside restaurant is the location. During warm weather, the outdoor seating is fun. We had a fun evening with our granddaughter and her wonderful boyfriend. My advice to diners is to ask for the Happy Hour menu anytime you go to any restaurant between 2 PM and 7 PM. This isn't the only restaurant that has a Happy Hour but doesn't promote it. Happy Hour here is from 3 and 5. They don't give you a Happy Hour menu unless you ask for it. Check out my Happy Hour list. There are claw machines at the front and back and sketchbooks with colored pencils on every table so you can draw while waiting for your food. The service is friendly - you order at the front counter and get a buzzer that buzzes when your food is ready at the pickup counter. The boba drinks are good. They have a decent selection of milk teas and fruit drinks as well as toppings. The boba pearls are done right, freshly made so they are soft and chewy like they're supposed to be. Once I ordered popping boba on accident (honey boba on the menu) thinking it was regular boba sweetened with honey and did not like it. They graciously switched it out with regular boba for me which I truly appreciated. My one recommendation would be to adjust the sweetness level if you prefer lighter drinks. The last time I visited I forgot to ask and it was a bit on the sweet side for me. I've also ordered poke and teriyaki bowls from them before and it was ok. The food was fine, it just didn't stand out to me. I usually come here for the drinks but would give the food another try given the good service and atmosphere. Overall I'd recommend Gung Ho as a solid hangout spot that's centrally located with good drinks and plenty of food options.
