Asian Nacho's
Candis M.

We did a take-out order for our first time trying Roka and were pleasantly impressed with all the dishes ! My daughter did the kids chicken fried rice and tore it up. The yellow curry and Asian Nacho's were the best we have had in a long time. The only critique we really had was the protein was somewhat less than what we expected, other than that 10 out of 10 will eat there again and hopefully for a dine in experience next time. We also tried the passion fruit spritz drink and wished we had a second. Well done Roka !

Kimchi Fries

This was our first time at Roka. We went on a Wednesday night. Please note that it was "all-day happy hour" so it was packed. We had to park on a side street but our wait for a table was only about 20 minutes. We started with the cheese wontons and the pot stickers. Super cheap because of the happy hour. The wontons were some of the best I've ever had, great flavor and super light. The pot stickers were good, too. Around our table we tried the Roka Burger (with added kimchi fries), the salmon, the roasted Teriyaki veggies, and the Thai green curry. The salmon looked delicious (didn't get a bite), the kimchi fries were fabulous, the burger was raved about and the curry was so creamy and delicious. I personally ordered the veggies. While they were OK, I would order something different next time. There were bites of super tough asparagus but it was a large serving and I brought half of it home. On the next trip, I will get the curry and I want to try their sushi. Service was a little slow but I blame it on th happy hour. Loved the décor inside!

5 spice chicken katsu

The location is in a good spot and the decor inside and out was very nice. It looked clean and parking wasn't too hard to find. I've driven by a lot and thought I'd give it a try. I love chicken katsu and even if it were $22 I ordered it. I asked for katsu sauce on the side since it was a pick up order and requested white rice in lieu of mashed potatoes. When I got home I discovered I was missing the katsu sauce, even the bbq sauce it usually comes with was missing, and was given ketchup instead. Thats not that big of a deal, mistakes happen. I was surprised by the sight of the katsu though. It was an odd color but I figured it was the 5 spices they referred to in the menu. I hate to say it but the chicken katsu wasn't great. It was hard and dry, looked like it had been frozen then reheated when ordered. I ate some but it was so dry it was like eating jerky. It didn't have any specific flavor from the spices and was extremely dry. I didn't finish the meal. I did eat the white rice. Not worth the $22. I'd recommend Sura if you are looking for good chicken katsu.

Lettuce Wraps - tofu

Firstly, our waitress was DELIGHTFUL. She literally brought joy, but was also attentive and knowledgeable about vegan options. She gave some great recommendations, and ultimately my sister and I ordered the tofu lettuce wraps, tempura veggie roll, and vegetable lo mein. This spot isn't fully authentic, but the atmosphere has a great vibe and the food is tasty! I enjoyed everything we ordered. The lettuce wraps were fresh with an awesome peanut sauce and tons of mushrooms. Tempura roll was a great mix of flavors. Lo mein had big chunks of mushrooms and was complemented with chili garlic sauce which we requested on the side. Definitely going to request this spot again on my next Tulsa trip.

Chicken Fried Rice

There is a decent sized parking lot around the restaurant. We arrived with no reservations and so decided to eat in the bar rather than wait. The service was good, the bartender was definitely busy mixing up drinks. We tried the potstickers, they had a good crunch to them and the miso cream sauce was different and interesting. I got the shaking beef with fried rice. It wasn't overly spicy and had good flavor, I mixed the rice into my dish. My husband had the chicken fried rice and while not salty there wasn't a lot of flavor.

Not a bad spot for Asian fusion. This place provides an option for everyone with a wide variety of Asian dishes. They seemed to very accommodating of dietary restrictions or special request. The food is good but the atmosphere is really cool. The interior and exterior the building and decorations, even landscaping, seem to be one of a kind. Go check it out!

It was quite snug in our section, with several large parties, so also very loud. We started with appetizers - they were delicious! I enjoyed a view of the house cocktails. They seem to have seasonal menus, as the menus were different in person than I had found online. Still very good. Food is served family style, although still small portions IMO. The grill options don't come with a side of rice, which we didn't realize prior to the food arriving. Our server was very friendly and very attentive. We will go back, with a reservation to sit inside or during nicer weather to see if there's a larger outdoor seating area.

So much so that I have learned to make it at home. L D Asian's lacked curry flavor and that nice yellow color that we are used to seeing. Not bad, but not recommended and certainly not the best in Tulsa. In all fairness, L D Asian's may be an authentic version of the Hong Hong dish, but just different than what we are used to. I studied the online menu and found three items that were new to me: Kam Heong Chicken, Samei Chicken and Asam Chicken. Do you know what they are? The restaurant does not provide any description. Thanks to Wikipedia and Google I was able to decode two of the three dishes. The restaurant needs to put descriptions on their menu. I chose the Asam Chicken, because Google described it as tart and spicy, made with tamarind and chilis. My kind of dish. It was excellent. Fresh tomatoes, okra (surprise), green beans and onion in a tangy spicy broth. Similar in taste to Siracha Chicken. I like this! Minimal service and matching decor. The restaurant is primarily set up for takeout. Order at the counter, the food is delivered to your table. The interior of the restaurant is functional, adequate, with booths, tables. Very limited drinks (bottled sodas). Try it and compare it to your preferred Asian restaurant.
