i was about to start running errands till i noticed i haven't eaten anything to get fuel. i was in the area (across the street actually) & saw this spot (kumu). whenever i try an asian spot out for the first time, i either go with fried rice or orange chicken before i come back for another visit. this time i went with the orange chicken & it got the job done. i came in to place the order, got greeted instantly while orders were being brought out to people inside. there are spice levels 1-5, i went with 3. it wasn't as spicy so next time i'll do a 4 or 5 spice level. the orange chicken was well coated will extra sauce laying on the bottom of the container for the broccoli to swim in. the rice was sticky & in a good size to go with my orange chicken to get me full. after i was done & ended up taking a nap 20 mins after (the order was to-go). the menu is loaded with a lot of curry, fried rice, noodles, along with much more to choose from. read more

The food is pretty good but ordering veg@n is challenging. They have one item, a ginger salad, listed as veg@n on their Door Dash menu. I am unable to find anywhere else Kumu Thai lists veg@n, or veg@n-able items, vegetarian, or vegetarian-able items. When you talk to them about making something veg@n, they seem to know what they're taking about but it's not ideal. Wouldn't it set everybody up for success if the menu listed which items were veg@n or could be made vega@n? I would certainly eat here more often and I would stop asking the groups I'm dining with to choose somewhere else when we are out to eat. read more

This popped up in my yelp, suggested restaurants. First time here ended up being a great choice the yelp reviews were right! It's so good. I got number one number three and number 13. Which was beef salad with rice, fresh shrimp spring rolls, and deep fried shrimp rolls. They were all good 13 was my favorite with the beef salad so good. I definitely will be back. When I called my order in for pick up, they were so friendly and helpful. When I picked it up, my order was ready and freshly made!! sorry pictures. I ate my food quickly. I've had Thai food all over -- Los Angeles, New York, Florida, Texas -- and honestly did not expect to find some of the best of it right here in Tulsa. This place completely surprised me. Everything had so much flavor, from the fresh rolls to the Thai iced tea. The mains were just as impressive -- the massaman curry was rich and comforting, and the drunken noodles had the perfect balance of heat and seasoning. If you're craving authentic, flavorful Thai food, this spot is easily one of the best I've tried anywhere. Highly recommend. read more

I came to this new Thai restaurant for the pad mango. Let me tell you that this is a pretty rare dish that you probably won't see it that often. It was great however there were so few mango slices in this dish. The mango slices had great texture, not too soft and not too hard. I feel like they should put more mango in this dish because it's "pad mango" for goodness sake. I also had the pineapple fried rice which was great, comparable to other Thai restaurants. It's a fairly small restaurant with one server running the place. She did a good job. For a new restaurant, it was fairly busy. I might go back and try the pad mango again but this time with extra mango slices. I wonder how long this dish will stay on the menu because I can tell you not many people will try it. My first impression: pretty good Thai restaurant. Not as good as Lisu, but it has pad mango which Lisu does not. read more

This was our first visit to Kumo Thai restaurant under the current management. We were pleased with how clean and orderly the restaurant was inside. It's a bit on the casual side but comfortable. It has a somewhat more intimate atmosphere and there is the main dining area and then a side room with more seating. Our server was very friendly and greeted us warmly upon our arrival. We were seated promptly impressed with menus. We ordered spring rolls for an appetizer. We didn't specify when they should be brought out and unfortunately they came out at the same time as our meal did. Not a big deal. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken. It was on the tangy side with a good amount of sliced chicken and the noodles were not overcooked. I asked for a little bit of heat and got just that. It was quite good. My wife ordered Cashew Stir Fried Chicken but she subbed out peanuts for the cashews. It was also delicious with lots of veggies and a good amount of chicken as well. The spring rolls were a little overcooked in my opinion. Overall we really enjoyed the food here and it's nice to have a good Thai restaurant so close to home. read more

I had the Beef Pho and the meat way way over cooked it was as as tough as shoe leather. My partner has chicken pad Thai and it was was small serving with barely any chicken. It was a great restaurant but it has gone way down hill. read more

First time to visit this little place. Very clean and the weight staff was attentive, although it was only one individual running around. Food came out relatively fast and it was delicious. Sometimes no spice level on a curry is super spicy but the no spice level on this curry was perfect. I got the pineapple curry. And enjoyed it. Went in for lunch. Was pleasantly greeted and seated upon arrival. Drinks were ordered and lunch arrived shortly after. Very quick and efficient restaurant. Plenty of seating for small lunch groups but can accommodate larger parties with pushing together tables. We ordered Chicken Satay appetizer, Papaya Salad and the Vegetable Green Curry with Egg Plant. All were very delicious but I did not like the presentation of the Papaya salad with all the liquid on the plate. Would be best without the garlicky fishy sauce! read more

My wife, the "Tofu Guru," described Pad Thai in expressive way that I have never heard her use, "the meal tasted crafted instead of thrown together." I think that is a gracious complement for a pile of bean sprouts and tofu. Yeah, she liked it! The tofu did look excellent. I tasted. Great, just a little too sweet for me. Pad Basil was on my plate. No Laarb today. I am not passing up basil and jalapenos. Read the menu description, check the picture. You will want it too. A big plate of vegetables, savory sauce, level 3 heat, and tender beef! It too, tasted as if crafted by a skilled cook. We started the meal with the Thai Shrimp Rolls. The golden fried crustaceans, each attired in crisp crunchy wonton skin. Served with a nice dipping sauce. Good meals here. Clean little restaurant with table service. Minimal, but adequate service. read more

Shredded Green papaya, fresh garlic, chili peppers, tomato's, peanuts and a tart lime dressing. Medium spice level for me.. My experience was ok. I ordered the "no spice" option for massaman curry and it was definitely medium spice. I could hardly handle it and it was the first time I've had pumpkin in it instead of potatoes? Flavor was ok. My mango sticky rice only had a small amount of not super ripe mango and green food coloring in the rice. Not great flavor. The server seemed overworked and couldn't keep up with the to-go orders. We had to try the new Thai place!! We started with some fresh rolls with shrimp. They had fresh mint in them and they were delicious with a great peanut sauce. We split the yellow curry at a level 2 spice and it was absolutely perfect. Sweet, savory, and just so so good! Go try it!! They remodeled from the last Thai place, so it's a little bit bigger and nice and clean. Also, the service was wonderful and friendly. Highly recommend giving them a try. read more

Mine came out first and it was ten minutes until 3rd plate arrived. We had to ask twice about when the other plates would arrive. At times there was no one at the counter at all. They seemed seriously short staffed. Recommend ordering takeaway or delivery. Maybe going at 1:30? Their lunches specials are Monday thru Thursday, and don't include Friday. read more
