I requested regular steak and lobster instead of the fillet and lobster. The waiter said, "no problem." When I received my bill, I was up charged by $2.00 for a lower cut of beef. The manager made no effort to rectify the situation. I told him the lack of customer service would keep me from returning.... He replied, "That's your choice." Wow! That sums it up right there. We will definitely not be returning. If you value customer service, stay away or be disappointed. They are more concerned with money than service. read more

I asked the waitress what menu items were safe for individuals who can't eat gluten. She advised me to avoid the salad dressing, soup, tempura items, and sorbet, but said that all over menu items could be made gluten free. Happy about the news, I ordered hibachi shrimp which came with shrimp, veggies, and white rice. The food was delicious. I was a little surprised that I was charged full price for the meal considering the fact that I was unable to eat 3 full courses (soup, salad, and dessert), but I was just happy they accommodated my dietary needs so decided not to say anything about it. When I got home I had a full-blown immune response (which I only get when I consume gluten) which lasted the next 5 days (painful joints, migraine headache, severe intestinal inflammation....I literally gained 7 pounds over night from my body's immune response). After contacting the gentleman who claimed to be the manager he informed us that ALL of their rice has added gluten. What?!? I had eaten an ENTIRE BOWL of rice. The manager proceeded to BLAME ME for not letting the waitress know I was gluten intolerant. Not only did I tell the waitress that I couldn't eat gluten, I went into detail about how gluten affects me and asked her to double check on all of the items I had ordered. The manager was not remorseful, did not offer to make the situation right, and proceeded to insist that I should have asked for him. How would I have known to ask for the manager when the waitress assured me my meal was gluten free AND also assured me that she double checked with the kitchen. I understand that mistakes are made and I would have been willing to give Osaka another chance if they had apologized and made an effort to amend the situation. What I am not tolerant of is blatant disrespect and disregard for another person's quality of life. This restaurant gets two thumbs down from me. Needless to say, we will not be returning. read more

I have never had such pitiful service as I had here. At some point I thought I would give them a second chance, thinking it was just an off day. But after seeing the other reviews on here, apparently its something they train their people in. To their credit, the sushi is quite good: large rolls at a reasonable price. But we never saw our server between the time that she dropped off our waters and the time she dropped off our check WHILE WE WERE STILL EATING! In between times, we had to try several times to flag down whoever was walking past to get what we wanted. Problem was, we wanted to order another round of drinks when she left the check. Which we did. And she brought the updated check out again, before we had a chance to order dessert. We even saw what appeared to be the general manager standing around, watching and checking on things; but he never responded to our flailing arms for service, nor did we ever get a simple, "So how is everything?" All we got was a muffled grunt when our server finally saw that I'd put my credit card down to pay. Don't waste your time or money here, I prefer Fuji myself. read more

The service and staff ruined the whole experience for me. We had a reservation that meant nothing! They still made our party take a buzzer and wait longer for a table. There's too many at the host station just standing looking confused. My party of 13 ended up walking out! We made a 6:00 reservation, yet waited 1 1/2 hours for a table. Waited 20 minutes for a waitress to take our drink and sushi order. The waitress was very flustered and so overwhelmed. She was young, tried but failed epically! We ordered hibachi foods but never saw it. We did get to have our sushi orders, soup & salad. The hibachi cooks walked all around our table. We watched them go to table after table all around us. People that were seated after us were getting there meals cooked. We watched in disbelief. Finally, we just walked out! Asked to see the manager on the way out and that little a**hole was unbothered by our dissatisfaction. Not sure if it was a language barrier or if he was really that ignorant. There were too many people inside. It was very unnerving. This place has decent food, but the service sucks! The manager doesn't know how to staff the restaurant to provide adequate service for the large number of customers. The bar area should have been shut down by the fire department - people were swarming everywhere- mad, loud and being rude to the bar staff. It was a total mess - Osaka on March 7 was a lousy, sub-par, poor service having wannabe restaurant. They need to close and attempt to re-staff before opening again. read more

We have been regulars at Osaka over the past few years. We walked in this evening and were seated. 20 min later, the chef cooking behind us went to find a server to take our drink order on his own (thank goodness or we might still be sitting). Another 20 min after the drink order, I had to find a server to ask about our salad and soup. 50 minutes after being seated and still not having a chef with food, I went to talk to the manger who dismissed my complaint and said "it takes time". He argued about the wait time and even went to find the ticket. He was absolutely rude and told me I was welcome to leave. We did! I will never return to Osaka and you should only go if you have plenty of time and are willing to be treated less than respectful. read more

I've been to Osaka for three times. The first time I was impressed, the food good (not amazing) and the presentation was pretty cool. The second time was okay and still fun. The third time.. Well it got old real soon. The food is the same over and over again (the soup, the salad, rice, etc.). It's good when it's for the first time, but after a while it gets boring. The staff varies, you either get energetic and fun ones or ones that look tired and annoyed. All in all... I personally done with Osaka, although I would be fine if people invited me. read more

the only reason I'm going out of my way to write this review is in hopes that a manager will see it. I absolutely love their food and eat here quite often AND have spoken with the manager and staff about my concerns...but the reason for my awful review is for two reasons. 1) every single time I go in there, the table I'm sitting at and the dishes are disgusting. There's always old food left over or something I can't even flick off... 2) their service is absolutely ridiculous. The hibachi cooks? AMAZING. They always do it right. But the wait staff/ hostesses most always have an attitude (minus 2 or 3 of them) I can never get consistently good service and that's so disappointing considering how much money I pay them. THE TO GO SERVICE? I wouldn't even bother. Literally every single time I order something to go, even when I specify and have them read it back to me, they manage to forget something or completely flip what I say. I have called the manager multiple times and stressed how much they need to take what I say into consideration because the service you get is not worth the money you pay. I am so done. I am so surprised at the bad reviews! We took a party of six to Osaka last night and I was really impressed. We made reservations for 6:30 at one of the Hitachi tables. They seated us promptly and our waitress was very sweet and attentive. We listened to some of the other reviews and opted for the Hibachi dinner instead of sushi. Our group had chicken, steak and lobster. With the dinner you get soup, salad and a delicious shrimp appetizer. The chef himself was great to watch and the whole experience felt fun and relaxed. Cocktails were very reasonably priced ( my glass of wine was $4). The cost for the six of us was $130, which is very fair for a nice restaurant in Tulsa. The thing to keep in mind is that Osaka is a Japanese steak house...not a sushi bar. If you want good sushi go to In The Raw. If you want an entertaining meal with good food, sit at the Hibachi table and enjoy the show! read more

I have been here once I love the performance and the food was delicious but today June 20 2017 I came agin with my mom and dad and cousin I was so disappointed that the performance was awful and even if u fail the person who performed could of at least smile but had the look that disgusted me and the food look good but when I got home I had a very upset stomach I just hope they could of train the chef more or else I can't come here and introduce this to any of my family or friends read more

This was my first time being to a hibachi place since I lived in Japan, so you could say I had decently high hopes. I went there with my family and had a great time. The only thing that was displeasing was the rude, snobby people we sat by. However, after we left, I noticed we were over charged. The bill was around $110, which I didn't think much of, because we were a party of 5, and left a $25 tip.On the drive home, I started doing the math and honestly, nothing was adding up for the meals we got, we should have been charged $80. So I called back and when I talked to the manager she told me they would give me a call the following day. I never got a call back so I assumed that they went ahead and fixed the bill. I just checked my bank account and I was charged the wrong amount of $135. I just called them again and the manager was so incredibly rude about the situation. THEY were the ones who charged me wrong and treated me like it was such an inconvenience that I wanted my money back, AND said I needed to come to the location to get my money(even though I live an hour away). I don't think I will ever return to this hibachi again. read more

Food is good but service is always horrible. We come here about 1x per month for the food but am always amazed that you only get offered a drink once and God help you if you ask for a refill. And then there is the rush to get you out. I promise there is no other place in Tulsa that will rush you out faster than here. If I'm paying $25 a plate I would at least like to finish. Beware of Osaka's I used to love this place. I have been going there since they were located on 51st and Harvard now moved to 81st and garnett. My most recent visit my credit card information was stolen , luckily my bank caught it after a few fraud transactions and canceled the card. A few months back me and my buddy went to Osaka's and his credit card information was also stolen , we didn't put the 2 together until after my incident. If anyone reading this beware , beware , beware.. bring cash if you love the place that much. I called osaka to report my incident i asked the lady who answered the phone to speak to a manager , she said manager is not available. i told them what happened gave my callback number and was told a manager would call me back. briefly after my phone call i started to get prank calls someone calling and hanging up ,when i tried to callback the number it was a disconnected number. later that night when i was sleeping another prank call came in, this time the person asked for a fake name, i just hung up the line. i then received a text with a picture of a women's vagina. i don't know what is going on. Osaka has lost its integrity and my business. i did keep my receipt (server 33 cashier 99) . read more

Who doesn't love celebrating a birthday at Osaka? Never again! I dropped off a birthday cake with candles on the cake & the information written on the cake box for my son & his 10 friends who had a reservation for this past Sat night. They said they would bring the cake out to him with candles lit (surprise!) after their meal. I spoke to 3 employees!! Instead, they brought him the cake still in the box, asked if it was for him & handed him the box...no candles lit..didn't bother even taking the cake OUT OF THE BOX! That will be the last time I pay for a party of 10 at Osaka!! Osaka got their $$, but we got crappy service!! Shame on you! Make an effort to not just put on a "show" for your customers, but also offer QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

Great sushi, sushi rolls, and sashimi. Some of the best in town. The service, however, often could care less about their sushivorous customers when the hibachi area is packed (and it usually is). A dining experience can take about twice as long as it should here. If it weren't for the quality of the food, we probably would not go here. read more

I signed into Yelp for the first time in years simply to write this review. Our reservation was at 8:30. We got there at 8:15. We were a party of 10 with several birthdays. 45 minutes after our reservation, the chef realized the hibachi was off and said it would be 15 minutes to heat up. This is the point where I told the waitress to cancel my order so that my husband, one of the birthday boys, and I could go home to relieve our sitter. At 9:40 when we were leaving, the chef was JUST getting started. While we waited, we had some sushi. My husband had the nigiri and it was decent. I had a 7$ roll - I think it should have been comped but whatever. I couldn't believe how completely unprofessionally they handle this for what they charge you. No manager or anyone came to the table apologizing or anything. Just awful. read more

They were rude and we waited an hour an a half and when we told them how long we waited they lied saying they were calling for us when we were right in front of them the entire time! We were treated like crap and wouldn't even try to seat us. They said we would have to wait another 45 minutes and refused to apologize for it. I just moved here from California, so I didn't go in with high expectations. I was however, happy to find a restaurant with teppanyaki and sushi in Tulsa. I was surprised to see the place almost empty at lunchtime on a Friday. It's generally hard to get a seat at a good restaurant at that time. I felt that the decor was drab with horrible large fake flowers all over. I was delighted to see that we were going to be seated right away. Oddly the host decided to seat the customer that came in after us, and stood behind us in line first. After being seated our semi-friendly waitress began with asking us if we just wanted to have water. I was surprised that we weren't offered green tea, sake, or maybe even soda. I slightly took offense to it. We ordered, and specifically said, that we would like to have sushi to start off with. We waited for awhile to get our mushy and overly drenched salad. The chef came and made our meal (he was pleasant), and by the time he was finished making the last part, and we were getting full, the sushi came. I sent it back, and explained that we wanted it as an appetizer. She rarely ever came around to check on us. The food was very salty and unappetizing. The chef made a mistake with the egg that we kind of over looked, and so I unfortunately bit into a huge mouthful of egg shell. It was very gross. The steak was very chewy. On top of everything the food upset my stomach so much that I had the runs. Yes, very nasty. I wish I new of a good place to go. read more

If I could give them 0 start I would !! Worst service I have ever had!! My husband and I get there and as soon as we sit down the waitress asks us what we want to eat before even asking us what we want to drink. ( we literally have been sitting down for 30 seconds no time to look at the menu) she never brings us water and another waiter had to come back and ask everyone what they wanted again. Then they proceed to give everyone soup and salad and she forgets me! Never comes back ! When the cook came I asked him for some and he brought me some after everyone else was finished. THIS IS THE BEST PART so I ordered fried rice and chicken. Nothing special. My husband and friends get the same.... The cook cooks the food and doesn't give me any! Says that it's cooking in the back. What the heck why it's the same food?!? Then after everyone is well into their way of finishing my rice and chicken ( the same nothing different ) comes out AND ITS COLD. I ask her to take it back and they literally put it in the microwave and brought it back!! Only the middle was hot!! At this point I just ate it. My husband was nice enough to still pay for the meal.
