New Management Is not up to par. I've been coming here since you opened. Have dined with you more than 50 times. I was so disappointed tonight. We booked weeks im advance. Requested a specific table which is for 4+ only. I know bc we go all the time. When we arrived there were 2 girls there taking endless selfies (eating no food)...we waited & waited & waited at the bar...finally sat at a shitty table, asked to change, the Server was GREAT and was SHOCKED when the manager refused to move us. When I told the Mgr about the table, he "apologized" then became clearly embarrassed when I asked him why these two working girls were sitting hours on a table for 4 ordering nothing? This is my second time here and the first was amazing , a five star experience. The second experience was a bust so an average of 3.5. On our second visit we were served by a female waitress. We ordered the roll with foie gras. Delicious. Additionally we had the sashimi, tuna and other rolls. All delicious. Now here is where they lost me. We were still a little hungry and asked for a suggestion. Don't!! Here the waitress suggested the lobster which we agreed to. It was an obvious blatant attempt to pad the bill and increase her tip. When I saw the bill come out and the lobster was 1/2 the bill I nearly had a heart attack. Hence one persons attempt to increase her tip has cost them a client and in my opinion a star. Therefore moral is be weary of the servers who are solely in it for themselves and not looking at repeat customers. read more

Osaka has quickly become one of our favorite spots in Miami. We've been two times now - once as a group of two & once in a group of seven. DONT COME HERE! The service was really really bad. We had a reservation but had to stand for 15 minutes before getting a seat (a very uncomfortable one, servers keep bumping into my seat). The menu was intentionally confusing and service was really really slow for each dish. The food was fine but expensive ($450 for party of 2). What's worse, I ordered the Hibiki Cocktail as the second drink, it was unavailable, which was fine. After that, the server pushed me TWICE to order another, and I ordered in a hurry. What's worst, I still got billed for the unavailable drink at the final bill, and the names for each dish intentionally confusing so it was hard to tell. Very disgusting behavior! read more

We were craving sushi and remembered liking Osaka. The ambience is beautiful, and the bartenders have always been very friendly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as it used to be. We were very disappointed with the sea bass with coconut miso sauce, as we loved it so much the last time we dined there. The size of the fish time was ridiculously small. I'm actually really mad about it now thinking back to paying $54 for a piece of fish that was the size of a slice of lemon on the plate ! ( see my pic ) It was double that size last time. This was Extremely disappointing since we decided to split it this time because we remembered it being so big, filling, and delicious !? we knew we were going to have a few starters, so we were looking forward to sharing that fish as our entrée, and it was a joke for the size and the price ! My husband started with the oysters and absolutely loved them. We then ordered the Katsu nigiri. It's Salmon w lemon zest & white truffle oil. It tasted light & fresh. It comes with 2 pieces . Next, we had the Nori furai which was Salmon, avocado, crispy nori. I didn't like this at all. It tasted very fishy to me, and the textures didn't seem to go together well at all. Next m, we tried the Makimono Tuna tartare. This flavor was really good but it had way too much rice. I just cut half the rice off and then it tasted good. Honestly my favorite thing wasn't even on the menu. The Chef sent out a delicious salmon tartare for us to try and it was absolutely delicious. They should have that on their menu! It was a fun presentation to see the tuna foie gras torched at the table. That comes with two small pieces and my husband enjoyed it. Osaka is not a restaurant to go to if you're really craving sushi in particular. The service was really slow in the restaurant and it was the last time we dined there as well. The best time we had at Osaka was dining at the bar. There are definitely other sushi restaurants that I would recommend and go to before coming back here. read more

The most exquisite sushi Nikkei experience in Miami. Incredible modern ambience, chill lounge music with a live DJ, top notch service that is attentive, timely, and the servers have great recommendations. Most importantly: the food. Took my parents here and it may have been the priciest bill they've ever had but said it was one of the best meals too. Standouts are the nigiris: Inca, Hotate Truffle, Tuna Foie Gras, Katsu and the Wagyu!! For drinks, highly recommend the AKA sour which is a twist on the Chicha Morada pisco sour. We came for brunch and even though we were disappointed in the menu options for brunch and opted for the regular menu, everything was outstanding from service to food all round. Brunch menu is very limited and small so it wasn't what we expected but I try to make the best out of every situation so my friends and I just decided to order different items from the regular menu to enjoy it family style and get to taste a few things. So let's break down what we had... Cocktails: Pisuko Trip or pisco sour was refreshing, spicy and delicious but the one I liked the most was the Mr Osaka with a rosemary smoke for a beautifully crafted drink and nice presentation for the win. Pisco Ribs: baby back ribs with a citrus pico glaze like no other I've tasted and tender meat that just comes right off of the bone. This was one of the faves for sure. Tako Anticucho: chargrilled octopus skewer sitting on hot pebbles with a chimichurri nippon. Perfectly cooked and not chewy or rubbery with a citrusy kick from the lime. Definitely one of the best octopus dishes in town. Pato Mochero: also known as the "duck" fried rice, this was one of the most delectable duck dishes I've ever tasted in Miami. Crispy skin on the duck leg with lulo passion honey for sweet and savory combo, smoked pork and the sauce dripping onto that perfectly cooked wok white rice, "wow" is an understatement. We had no room for dessert and had planned to hit up a few other joints but this was just a perfect brunch . Service is excellent and staff was personable and attentive as you would expect from a fine establishment such as this one here. Osaka is one of those places I'd heard about but never really got around to going. Since I live in Brickell, it's just a few blocks away from me. The restaurant is small, cozy and romantic inside. It's the perfect place for a date. My friend and I were hoping to snag a reservation for dinner on a Thursday evening, but it proved to be impossible. We got on the waitlist, but no one cancelled. We made a reservation at another restaurant nearby but stopped in Osaka just in case. Thank goodness we did because we were able to snag two seats at the bar. The service was EXCELLENT. We wanted to start our meal with cocktails and our server recommended the HONEY CHA. It was amazing and the presentation was spectacular. All of the food was spectacular too. We had the BLACK COD CRIOLLO, TAKO ANTICUCHO. I will say that the portions are small, so it can get expensive quite quickly. Our bill was reasonable since we didn't eat so much. Unfortunately, we didn't have dessert but I will definitely be back! read more

Some other highlights are the wagyu steak that is provided with a hot stone to cook it on (with the side of potatoes serving as a sleeper hit) and their spin on bang bang shrimp is something I have been thinking about since the last visit. This place is pricey, no doubt about it, which may be a difficult pill to swallow for some patrons. But, in the half dozen times I have visited, service and food quality have never been a question. Osaka is like a masterclass in maximizing the creative potential of fusion cuisine. The dishes and cocktails are Peruvian-Japanese inspired and all an exciting experience in themselves. Our group of 6 went to Osaka with an open mind ready to try anything - our server Daniel made our experience, taking the time to personally curate a sampling of many of the highlights from Osaka. Essentially like a hand-picked omakase experience. He was thoughtful, attentive, and funny and gave us all the information on everything presented, checking in to see how we liked the various things chosen. Definitely want to recognize him for his service as he made our first-time experience exceptional! Some of the highlights of the food (that I can remember to describe accurately, at least!) included a tartare dish served on squid ink-infused nori crackers and sprinkled with gold leaf (the first dish chosen and a true show-stopper), the Japanese scallop nigiri (simple but incredibly flavorful and seared at our table), the Wagyu beef and crispy shrimp rolls topped with foie gras (also freshly seared at our table), the Japanese beef prepared table-side with quail eggs and a foie gras topping, the raw wagyu served with a hot stone for table-side searing along with a delicious side of crispy potatoes, and a very buttery soft fish dish (I think the black cod?). Aside from how delicious and fresh the food was, the presentation and preparation was a huge part of the experience. Many things as mentioned were seared at the table, prepared table-side, or allowed us to freshly cook our food. Also adding to the experience was the art of the cocktail presentation. Many of the cocktail were served very beautifully and they had exceptional flavor. Our party ordered their version of the Negroni that came presented in a smoking box. A couple of us also had the cocktail that had green tea/matcha (I don't remember the name :/) and it was also beautifully presented as a pour-over in a small bowl with crushed ice. Aside from presentation, both cocktails had expertly balanced flavors and definitely tasted as good as they looked. Osaka overall is an incredible experience and highly recommend! Wow, this place is great! It's been so long since I've raved about Japanese food but this was truly something new and exciting. Think Japanese food fused with Peruvian flavors. My overall theme of this review is that Osaka does a great job of pairing rich umami flavors with sweet and tart counter notes. We stopped in for lunch on a Friday and tried the following: - Kunsei Ceviche - a great starter with smoked tuna, sweet potato coupes and black quinoa - Carpassion (Tiradito) - a beautiful but simple dish with thinly sliced salmon on top of tart but sweet passion fruit honey and topped with crispy strips. The salmon is rich and buttery but you'd never think to pair it with passion fruit...but it works! - Hotate Truffle - scallop seared table side, coated with truffle butter and a finish of lime. Super delicious. - Nori Furai - an elevated salmon/shrimp/avocado role with a great crispy nori coating - Tumbo Shrimp - like bang-bang shrimp but better. I'm not even a fan of shrimp but they were large, plump and sweet. - Seabass Misoyaki - cooked perfectly moist with a wonderful curry-like miso-coconut butter, rice and charred lemon Honestly, everything was incredibly tasty. They sat us in a corner right next to the server station and we kept getting bump by the servers going through and the bar and were unwilling to give us a better spot for our special night. On top of that they made us give them our umbrella's at the front and they lost them and then proceeded to encourage us to take someone else's umbrella.... The food tasted good but it was not worth the price at all.
