I've been to this place twice, and plan on coming back more. They have a summer special $6 margaritas and $8 old fashions. Can't beat that price! The chicken wings were so big I could not fit them in the ranch container, they were breaded and cooked well! Instead of carrots and celery they give you pickles and cooked carrots that I liked better. The ribs, burgers, nachos, and pizza were all good.

Thanks to Yelp, our group discovered this hidden gem and enjoyed a fabulous meal celebrating my brother-in-law's cancer remission. Gigi was incredibly sweet, friendly, and attentive. She went out of her way to give us her best and is truly excellent at what she does! The brunch menu was fantastic, offering a great mix of both breakfast and lunch options, and everything we tried was delicious. My husband and I split the knockout burger, and WOW--it was amazing! The meat was flavorful, the bun was soft, and the crispy sidewinder fries were the perfect complement. The service was flawless, and the spot itself is absolutely charming, tucked into a lovely area of Camelback.

Restaurant Owner Andi!

We had the best experience at Orchard Tavern. We sat down and ordered and long after was greeted by Andy. He was hilarious and made our experience so fun. (He would say he was obnoxious ;) ) Food was great and came out quickly. Drinks was great. The place was viby and relaxing. And the tax made our experience so fun. We will definitely be back!

First time at Orchard Tavern -- it's definitely out of our usual bubble, but absolutely worth the trip! We love their other spot, Luci's, which is closer to us, so we were excited to finally try this one. We did a hike nearby and stopped in for lunch. I had the burger with fig and goat cheese -- what a great pairing! And the cookie skillet for dessert was absolutely delicious. My husband had the nachos and loved them. The cocktail menu is wonderful too -- we both had one and were impressed with the options. Our server was great, and the outdoor seating is really top notch. Definitely coming back!

I've been to Orchard Tavern twice now: once for dinner and once for happy hour and both times were solid experiences. This one of those places that if you didn't know about it, you would totally miss it and because it's hidden in uptown area neighborhood. The first time I had the French dip and it was huge. Like actually huge. But more importantly, it was flavorful and not dry, which is my biggest complaint with most French dips. The au jus was perfect with it. I went back for happy hour and tried the mimosa flight, which was honestly just fun. Good variety, not watered down, and perfect for sitting on the patio and relaxing for a bit. The patio has a cozy vibe and the service has been easy and friendly both times. It's just a dependable spot that does what it's supposed to do: good food, good drinks, and good atmosphere. I'll be back.

Great place for a nice outdoor lunch! The high chairs for kids are really nice and cool and very unique we appreciated this- super great for little ones to dine at! My chicken pot pie was very yummy and I loved the veggie charcuterie platter. Jack was very kind and attentive. Great ambiance.

Second trip in and still loving this place. Vince was our server/bartender, and he crushed it. He opened with a disclaimer that he was new (bold move), but honestly, you'd never know, the service was on point. Thanks, Vince! Bonus: it was the first glorious day under 95 degrees, so obviously patio seating was the move. Drinks Woodford Sour - This is the primary reason I keep coming back. Proper whiskey sour with egg white, none of that neon mixer nonsense. Still the best whiskey sour in the valley, fight me. Kona Cactus - Tequila, coconut, lime, pineapple, pineapple foam, li hing. A lot going on here, but somehow it works. The pineapple foam is the MVP. I could honestly eat a bowl of it. Light, sweet, fluffy pineapple goodness finishing off the drink perfectly. Mai Tai - My first one ever, and turns out it's basically a margarita in rum's clothing. Not bad, just underwhelming after those first two. Food Steak & Eggs - The 10 oz NY strip was absolute perfection. Medium, exactly as ordered, beautifully seasoned, and so tender you almost didn't need the knife. The chimichurri-style sauce wasn't just an accent, it was the exclamation point on a perfect steak. This steak honestly outshined everything else on the table and could've carried the whole meal by itself. The eggs were fine after a DIY salt-and-pepper rescue, but let's be real, the steak was the headliner and everything else was just the opening act. Bacon? Fantastic, but so rich one piece is plenty. Cheddar chive biscuit? Exactly what you want with a steak breakfast. Schreiner's sausage + mushroom gravy tasted good but had a little raw flour sweetness hanging around. Still, it paired nicely with the biscuit. Overall, another win. A couple of minor misses, but when you've got steak this good and whiskey sours this perfect, who cares? This place just keeps delivering.

Espresso martini was Delicious!

I had amazing first visit at Orchard Tavern. Will definitely be going back many more times. The ambience was beautiful! The food was yummy and the drinks were fantastic! What made it even better was the staff. The bartender lived there as a child and the waitresses were great. The manager, Andy, was hilarious and shared some lovely stories. Looking forward to sitting outside when weather gets cooler in AZ!

First time here! It was a group of 6 of us. When coming be prepared to walk , parking gets full quickly. We ended up having to park in the nearby neighborhood. The food was yummy , cute ambiance. Staff was okay, they forgot drink orders and never brought them... that was annoying. Other than that I would go again. I especially want to try the place next door , similar menu but different and free outside sitting. We initially wanted to go there but it was harder for me to hold a table for a big party by myself while everyone else was looking for parking.

Just an update to my review a year ago. I still love this place. Charitye is the whole package as a bartender and front facing employee. She is welcoming, accommodating, and has an awareness of customer's needs that you just can't teach. Tonight we both had burgers and they were delicious. The fries or onion rings are both a solid choice. So glad to have the Orchard in the neighborhood! P.S. I am disappointed they took the fried, pancake batter dipped bacon off the brunch menu. They were so good. Bring 'em back! (Please)

NY Strip (Surf & Turf)
Marie V.

The margarita was excellent, shoutout to the bartender, she clearly knows what she's doing. We've been here before and enjoyed the bar food, but this was our first time trying dinner... and unfortunately, it was a let down. Double date nights are always a win, especially when you get a quiet, cool spot in the back of the restaurant (thank you, PHX heat!). The Surf and Turf had good shrimp, but the NY strip (ordered medium rare) was tough and dry. The Caesar could use a better dressing. Potatoes were boring. The Figgy Piggy Burger came out overcooked and dry, and the nachos were a miss--the avocado didn't taste right. We'll be back for the drinks and wings, but dinner missed the mark this time.

Pizza and sidewinder potatoes

Yum! We attended a summer movie event here in the little area between lucis and orchard tavern last night and it was a blast! We ordered online from orchard tavern and it was ready even faster than toast said it would be and pickup was super easy. We got a margarita pizza with goat cheese, and a kids cheese pizza, which is the size of a regular pizza. We also got the sidewinder fries with ranch and aioli. They forgot our ranch at first but my husband was able to go grab it. The friends we were with got a cheese pizza too and had fast pickup. The pizza was super delicious and ingredients tasted fresh! I loved the seasoning in the goat cheese. My husband really loved the sidewinder potatoes, they're like swirly steak fries! Pricing wasn't like insane, kind of as expected. My 2 year old enjoyed the pizza and fries too! And I loved the flavor of the aioli. Really fun, cool spot. Will be back this summer for sure!

We have never been. Just wants a little snack. It was 8 pm. We were welcomed and sat at a booth. Cocktails of course . Husband got the Posole. And I got the Tenderloin Toast. Just Wow! Everything so delicious. I can't wait to return!!

Wow! Color me impressed! Chef, waiter and bartender James was running the show single-handedly on…read moreThursday at 5. Not another table was occupied for our entire meal, locals please show this place some love!!! We came in for happy hour with our college son, and had a lovely time. The music was a bit loud for it being so empty, and an odd irritating beeping was audible throughout the evening. Otherwise, we sat in a comfy booth and enjoyed the air conditioning, yes its still 100 in Phoenix. From the happy hour menu, we ordered a house margarita and a red sangria to start ($6 each on HH). The margarita was standard, but solid. The sangria was fruity and boozy with a good portion of icy blackberries to keep it cold. I like that there wasn't a glass full of ice left after finishing this drink. James brought some extra ice for the margarita, saying the crushed ice melts quickly. I used it to ice down the water, much appreciated. When son arrived, he was undecided about the beers, so James brought him three tasters. After choosing the one (Dragoon Pilsner $7 HH) that made his face happy, we also ordered the polenta fries as a starter. The polenta fries ($10 HH) here are SUPERB! What a fantastic combination of flavors! I loved the hard crunch on the outside but the soft polenta inside. Topped with some spicy chipotle aoli, this dish features a little cor, cotija cheese and house pickled red onion and jalapeno slices. The brine on the pickles was perfect!! Tart, sweet, spicy all represented well. Even son who is a french fry traditionalist helped devour this dish. Even though our meal was also good, I will absolutely come back JUST FOR THE POLENTA FRIES and the drinks! On to entrees, son ordered the Mac Daddy appetizer as an additional side dish to go with his Bees Knees Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries. This craggy chicken breast is MASSIVE, hanging out of the bun on all sides. Very tender and juicy, he consumed the whole thing while the liberally applied honey sauce dripped down his arms. He also consumed all the Mac Daddy, pronouncing it creamy and cheesy. I think it was a little small for $13 but it was delicious. I ordered the American Burger, no bun, also with sweet potato fries. The meat was excellent, a nice sear and crunch edges with good quality beef. I asked for a side of ranch dressing to dip my fries into, and it was an excellent homemade version. Chef James told me he works to get the perfect viscosity for coating the fries, and he was successful! Husband had the Hot AF Chicken Sandwich, another huge craggy breaded fried chicken breast, with regular french fries. He got the pickles on the side, and cut the gigantic sandwich in half for leftovers. The habanero sauce on this burger is very spicy, but not deadly. It had a lot of raw onion under the bun. The buns are branded or dark toasted on top. No one complained. The size of the gigantic chicken breast in these sandwiches is truly comical. No one laughed. Too busy stuffing our faces! Although he did mix up our sides, Chef James ran a remarkable meal for us solo. We didn't have room for dessert, but they do have a couple on the menu. Check was handled efficiently, and we left James to his devices. I hope the restaurant saw other guests that night, and our dedicated host found it worthwhile to open the doors Thursday. I think he is really invested in the success of this place, and would love to send everyone I know to try it!

This is the only place I have ever been that they were inedible. The cheese was gelatinous and couldn't even be spread with a knife. Food took forever, over an hour for just one burger. The fries are good and hot but pretty salty. The burger had some strange aftertaste and just wasn't good. The gentleman sitting next to us were in agreement with their food/drinks. So many amazing restaurants, this just isn't it.

Instead, we were publicly embarrassed and treated like criminals for absolutely no reason. After we were seated, I closed the curtain because the table next to us was loud and obnoxious. Minutes later, the manager, Hannah, walked over and decided our entire group was "too intoxicated" to be served. Not a single person in our group was causing a scene, being disrespectful, or acting out of control. We were sitting at our table, ordering dinner. What makes this even more ridiculous is that after taking our drink order, Hannah personally brought out three green tea drinks in champagne glasses. Then, almost immediately afterward, she decided we were somehow too intoxicated to stay. Which is it? If we were supposedly too drunk to be there, why were drinks being served in the first place? We had already ordered what would have been around a $700 meal, and instead of being treated with basic respect, we were stereotyped because we were a bachelorette party. It felt like Hannah had already made up her mind before giving us any chance to prove otherwise. Restaurants absolutely have the right to refuse service to genuinely intoxicated guests. What they should not do is make assumptions based on the type of celebration or the size of a group. This wasn't responsible service--it was poor judgment, inconsistent management, and an incredibly embarrassing way to treat paying customers. We'll happily spend our money somewhere that values its guests instead of profiling them. !!! DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!!! We ended up at ZUZUs, they treated us with respect and dignity. Food was 10/10.
