I'm even guilty of picking up the frozen orange chicken at Trader Joe's every now and then. Honestly it was ok, I like my orange chicken more on the orange side but it was tasty the teriyaki chicken was amazing!!!! And the noodles was the best... So maybe we came at the right time, cause I am not understanding all of these poor reviews. For a fast food Chinese take out spot, this place was really good. The staff were nice and let us sample multiple proteins, extremely helpful since it was our first time going. The chow mein was really good and I loved the garlic flavor to their noodles. In my opinion, it beats their rice any day. I chose a 2 entree plate and it had plenty of food, enough for left overs. I chose the hot orange chicken and their walnut shrimp. The hot orange chicken had a sweet tang to it and was more flavorful than their original orange. The chicken was nice and crispy. Their walnut shrimp was insanely better than pandas, you can't even compare. It was crispy with a nice panko breading, whereas you get nothing but sogginess from panda. They charge $1.50 extra but it's so worth it! They give you plenty of shrimp, cannot complain. Definitely give them a try, we went early and got there before it was packed for lunch. What a great spot. Definitely a must try. As they say better than them others guys. I enjoyed stopping in to support and try something new. I really enjoyed the selection, the customer service as I was greeted when entering and helped quickly. It's a fast casual vibe and they even offer other menu items beside the hot food line. Love their Kung Pao chicken and their staff is always helpful. Went there on a second time and they remembered me, which was nice. I liked sitting there watching the TV and also reading my book. When we went last week, it was their 2nd day of their soft opening. They acknowledged they were still fine tuning their recipes. That in mind, my review reflects that. It was about 2PM on Saturday, and most of the dishes were half empty. Between husband and I, we shared the chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, kung pao chicken, Beijing beef, black pepper beef, chicken egg roll, and hong kong egg roll. For that plus a small drink, it was $20 (soft opening price). Fried rice- super dry Chow mein- noodles not cooked enough Orange chicken- too much breading, dry kung pao chicken- ok beijing beef- ok black pepper beef- ok chicken egg roll- Probably the best thing we had (not pictured) hong kong egg roll- asked the server what this was. 2.5 Stars Let me start by admitting that I fell for an Instagram reel for this place. I am here to de influence/influence your decision to stop in the Orange Chicken Spot. The first thing I noticed was the amount of foot traffic OCS had the night I visited. I was not aware of this place until I saw a social media post. This seems to be the Mom & Pop's of Panda Express and they have signs to say they are better. Very similar layout on their cafeteria style line. The employees behind the counter seemed overwhelmed. The line was unkempt with dried sauces and pieces of drying food on the stainless steel line between all the steam table pans. Maybe I caught them after a rush. We pay and get to a table and they were not all clean. I did see an employee wipe down tables when the foot traffic lightened up. The food is very passable. The carbonation in their soda fountain was so light that it was if you were drinking syrup with tap water. The chow mein was pretty bland. Again, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say the kitchen was overwhelmed as the staff behind the counter looked. My beef items had way more sweetness than savory from my mental imprint of how I have had them at other places. Overall, it will be a long while before I come back. The food is honestly pretty solid. Although I will say, it feels like a restaurant that is trying to copy everything from Panda Express. They realistically could get so much more creative with their recipes and ideas overall; however, they chose to copy everything from Panda at a worse level, for the most part. The one saving grace is the price (about the same as panda) and serving sizes... a little better than panda. At the end of the day, I would say this is a good place to try the next time you want Chinese, although it's really nothing that innovative or special. read more

Went to this place on a whim because I was in the area and found out they were brand new!! I was greeted very warmly upon arrival and the lady who made my plate was very kind a LOADED up my plate. I am so happy with the food, they have all the same stuff as Panda Express except it tastes better and you get more of it FOR THE SAME PRICE. The place is a small to medium size store front and appeared to be clean. By the time I arrived home, I opened the box and and it was not packed full like others have claimed, it was the normal packing like any other place (including the national chain). Everything tasted the same to me as the national chain, it was not better; granted at least it wasn't worse. Pricing is basically the same, only 20 cents cheaper here. While i wouldn't go out of my way to get this food here, if I am in the area, I would stop. It hurts my heart to write this, because I hate giving negative reviews. We were recommended this place and went at 5pm tonight. The menu prices are very out of date. We got a 2 entree plate and a 3 entree plate. Both with noodles. My husband chose lemon chicken, chicken with string beans and the shrimp. I chose the hot orange chicken and asked for the bejing beef. The beef was low on the pan and the person at the counter said they would have it out in 4 minutes and would bring mine out to me. No problem, I said that's fine. We were dining in and not in a hurry. We also got 6 "salt and pepper" wings and 2 chicken egg rolls. We were actually shocked at the price, which was $51 after our 15% tip. We only had water to drink. My husband got his food, we got the wings, we did not get the egg rolls. They dished up the noodles and hot orange chicken for my dish and then it sat... and sat... and sat.... waiting for the "4 minute" bejing beef. I had 2 wings. Crunchy, but no trace of salt or pepper. Just a very weird soy aftertaste. I tasted my husband's lemon chicken.... the breading was falling off the second I tried to pick up a piece. The noodles were cooked ok, but nothing well to speak of. After 20 minutes into me picking at my husband's food he went up to check on mine. The person behind the counter then added the bejing beef to the container with the hot orange chicken and noodles that had been sitting on the counter for 20 minutes. I asked him to tell them to remake mine, but the person at the counter gave him no chance to ask. Just scooped the beef into the container with the 20 minute old noodles and orange chicken. He asked for the 2 egg rolls which were then stuffed into a bag. He asked for sweet and sour sauce for them and was told they were out despite them having a container of it on the line. Is this the best Chinese food ever..no, but neither is Panda Express or their ilk. There's a spot for this type of Chinese fast food in my opinion. This place is noticeably better than PE. For instance there was a real attempt to make fried rice, plus the Peking beef was super tasty and tasted fresh. The walnut shrimp was a little greasy and you could taste it, so it was just ok. The staff was super nice and the portions were adult sized which I appreciated and got them an extra star. The restaurant was clean and parking was super easy on a Saturday afternoon. The ambiance was terrible: a whole lot of yelling and metal dishes slamming around in the background like the cooks were bloods and crips. I like the fact they have spicy orange chicken, which is on a little sweet side, but it pairs very well with their fried rice.
