Vegetable Lo Mein
Carissa B.

Oh how happy we were to finally find a Chinese takeout spot that reminded us of home. If you miss Chinese food from the east coast, try it out! The restaurant is a whole in the wall kind of spot, definitely what we are used to. The pork fried rice was delicious. Flavorful and fluffy, so good I could eat it as an entire meal. We had the chicken with broccoli, the brown sauce was spot on. Broccoli was crunchy, just how I like it. The vegetable lo mein was good, had lots of vegetables and plenty of noodles. Love the baby corn and water chestnuts as an added crunch. At first the boneless spareribs threw us off, they had a little more sauce than we expected. Would absolutely get them again, more meat and less fat just how I like it. We got an order of crab ragoons for free since our order was over a certain amount. Absolutely delicious. Fried, crispy, and a good amount of filling. Definitely coming back.

8 Cheese Wontons

Wow this place really is the best chinese takeout i've come across. I ordered the general tso chicken special and it came with SO MUCH chicken. I barely ate half the box, I feel like this is a great sharing size for a couple people. It's marked as spicy on their menu but it's definitely not. I also ordered the cheese wontons. They were huge and filled with lots of filling. Also could not finish all 8 of them. Seems like this place is only open to takeout orders. I ordered at the store and waited less than 7 minutes for them to come out with my food. I would definitely consider ordering and picking up your food instead of using doordash as their prices are higher with these services. I'm really intrigued by their szechuan dishes and will definitely try those next.

The food is great and the service is quick. Their lunch combos are a good price and the portions are big.

I've eaten here a few times, it's one of my go-to places for takeout. The food is pretty good and the price is reasonable.

Kungfu Kitchen - Yangzhou fried rice ($12.98)

Kungfu Kitchen

Came here for dinner. Lots of Asians, very very authentic. Probably the best Chinese food in the…read morevalley. The biggest highlight for me is the toothpick lamb. If you're not a fan of lamb I understand but love the small tender morsels seasoned with mala spice. Also highly recommend the chive and meat dumplings. Picked with flavor and with a delicious light but doughy skin.

The food was not very tasty and not authentic. The pricing…read moreis fair and the portions are average. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the place was not very busy. We ordered the fried pork intestines with chilies, the west lake soup, and the beef noodle soup. West lake soup:(1/5) The west lake soup had egg, and beef and pork cubes. However there were not enough beef and pork cubes for the price. It was watery and not very fragrant. The portions were average. It did not taste very good. I would not recommend this dish if you are looking for authentic west lake soup. Fried pork intestines with chilies:(2/5) The intestines were neither crispy nor soft. They were chewy and flavourless, which was surprising considering they were super oily. It also came with peppers. This dish did not impress me. Beef noodle soup:(3/5) The soup broth was quite watery and too salty. There was a lot of sliced beef. The beef tasted fine and had a fine texture. The noodles were average. It also came with some Bok Choy. Overall the noodles were quite average, considering price, taste, and portions. Service:(3/5) The waitress refilled our waters twice. However they did not clear plates after we were done using them. They were also subtly rude. The service was borderline, but I expected better from a place with only 3 tables of customers. Ambience:(4/5) Place looks modern and clean despite its age. There were some paintings on the wall. Since there was not a lot of people eating, the place was pretty quiet. Side note: they also have an iced jelly dessert for free if you leave a 5 star review. (I did not get this personally because I don't like leaving fake reviews that don't align with how I feel about the place.) Overall the ambience was nice but I could not recommend the food here.

I especially enjoyed the beef skewers ,they're my favorite dish here. The orange chicken is tasty too. The desserts were just okay, they look fun and cute, but the flavors were a bit simple for my taste. The staff are very nice, friendly, and quick, which made the experience even better. The restaurant is a little old, but it's still clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a nice place to try , I always enjoy exploring new spots and gaining new experiences

Not my favorite spot for Szechuan!…read more The waitress's rec for my friend who really wanted something Szechuan spicy was not spicy at all - tasted like it was spiced with red pepper flakes and some other hot sauce that just seemed really greasy. We also asked for more bok choy since there was only 2 pieces in the whole dish and they charged us $2 for that. I didn't think that was very fair. When asking for water, be sure to be ready to pay for bottled because they don't serve tap. You must buy a beverage. Overall the squid was tasty and crispy, my delights were satisfied by the novelty items like having dragons breath in a decorated dragon den, and at night this place has been a treat to be in (bustling with students coming for the lights and other novelty plushies/labubu's and holographic decor) but this would not be my first choice to bring family to for an authentic experience.

Order at the cashier, grab a number, and food will be served to you. Needless to say, I ordered the 4. Shanghai pork mini soup dumplings which were $10.25 for 6 dumplings. I would've loved less dough, more soup, overall bigger portion size (larger dumplings or more of them). Otherwise, the soup itself was tasty. We also ordered the 14. Chongqing Fried Spicy Chicken $13.95, which was a platter of boneless chicken and peppers. I was very impressed with the crisp exterior but soft/juicy interior of the chicken. I'm not usually a spice person, but I was left feeling tingly but not in pain and not numb. Overall I found Heng's Kitchen to be disproportionately pricey given the taste and portion sizes. I'm pretty critical and discerning about my XLB, and this place did not totally satisfy my craving, although I was pleasantly surprised about the chicken. Note: rice is not included with any dish and is $1 extra. Free room-temperature self-serve water available.
