I love this storage facility. 3 different members of my family have used them for almost a decade now. Secure, clean, well maintained. But the customer service is the best part. The storage manager Sal is such a great guy; he's efficient, competent, friendly, and helpful. I was running late on the day I was moving into my unit, and he stayed 15 minutes into his break to help me get settled into my unit and show me how everything worked! He's a great guy. My mother and father have both had great interactions with him as well and really appreciate the friendly face. A friend of mine had some stuff to drop off and store. So we went by and he got himself a month free after paying for the first month. Which is an a bad deal. We only needed it for a couple months. The place is clean and really well spread out. It was a little difficult trying to back in with a trailer in certain spots but they found us a good spot to do that so everything went fine. I'd recommend it. The staff was nice that the hours were great, and the location was good. read more

This is the BEST storage place I've ever used (and I've used a LOT). This compound is HUGE. So much bigger than you can see from the outside. It's very well maintained, VERY clean (spotless, in fact), secure, and really convenient to access. THEY'RE ALSO A UHAUL LOCATION! You can sign up for a storage unit AND rent a truck at the same time! $19.95 for a standard truck or cargo van? I am IN! BUILDING: It's conveniently located right off the freeway and Chapman Ave. The building itself is incredibly clean and secure, and the interiors all have wide hallways, bright lighting, and fire sprinkler systems all along the halls. There is no trash or junk anywhere, they have a huge variety of unit sizes and shapes, and it's also air conditioned! SECURITY: Entry into the property has a coded-access gate and security cameras everywhere. When you go inside to sign up, you'll be able to see their security monitors which display every nook 'n cranny of the property. The manager is onsite 24/7 and watches the property at all times. I don't think I've ever seen a storage facility that was more secure than this one. ACCESSIBILITY: You can pull your vehicle right up to your unit if you're on the ground floor. My unit is on the 2nd floor, so I pulled right up to the elevator door, literally 3 steps away from it. The elevator is spacious and clean, and actually works. Load-in took only minutes because my unit was so close to the elevator, I was in and out very quickly. The parking/ loading area is circular, so you can get back out without having to back up. STAFF: Super-friendly and cool (funny, actually). Sheila (the manager), made the sign-up process a breeze. She's fast and efficient, and explained everything very thoroughly so I wasn't hit with any surprises. She'll get you in and out in just a few minutes. FEES: Very reasonable, in fact I got 50% discount for the first 3 months because they're having an online special. You must make your reservation online, but that was also super-easy. Just so you know, they strongly recommend using their special circular locks, because they are very difficult to cut through. Be prepared to spend an extra $12 on the lock (but you keep it). OTHER THINGS TO KNOW: You MUST buy insurance in order to rent a unit here. It's mandatory but cheap ($9), and it's good coverage. Last but not least, they do charge a $25 administration fee, which is kind of a bummer, but it is a one-time charge. All and all I saved money, since this place is still less expensive than most of the others in the neighborhood. The cleanliness and security make it worth every penny. I'm really happy I found this place, because it's so close to my house that I can pop in to pick up/drop off stuff so easily. I just wish I would've known about it sooner! I'm blown away that this storage place has as high a rating as it does. I've had a unit with this company for about 15 years; first at the one on Harbor in Santa Ana and the last couple years at the Orange facility. I only have experience with one other storage place and it was far from here so my expectations might be a bit too high but here's my impression of this company... The Orange facility gives easy access 7 days a week which is great but you get locked in the facility after 7 PM, wth is that? They need to have someone kick everyone out not just lock the gate on you automatically. If I'm leaving at 7:01 and my clocks a little off I have to wait an hour or more for someone to let me out? Why not allow exit but no entry after 7 instead of locking you in the facility? They have continuously raised the rent on me over the years as much as $100 or more per month! Why? Does it cost that much more to run the facility or pay their minimum wage employees? I don't understand rent hikes for existing long term customers. I think they want turn over but I can't figure out why. Owner - I think it's same one - at both locations continuously ignore my complaints to location staff about a thick dust/debris that gets into my unit and covers everything. If I didn't take care to cover all my stuff with plastic bags it'd be ruined or at a minimum require extensive cleaning to remove the nasty coating that accumulates quickly. This has been an issue at both locations. I think they use a gas blower to clear leaves and dirt from the driveways and simply blow it right under the door and into the units. At the orange location there is a weather strip on the ground under the door but that doesn't stop the debris from getting in. I've had damage to my items and no compensation for it to date. Not even a simple acknowledgement that it's a problem and maybe a reduction in rent or at least some confirmation they are working on a solution to this problem. Staff always find some uncontrollable reason for the debris in the unit such as the fires are causing a lot of soot but I've had it for years and at different locations. Besides, isn't that why we get storage - to protect our stuff. Most recently I received a letter stating they wanted to see proof I have insurance for items in the unit; if you don't have insurance they want you to sign up with their recommended insurance company. I left a voice message saying I have insurance through my homeowners policy and that I would not be purchasing their insurance and that I don't store anything significant enough in value to pay to insure it. They called me on a Sunday, said they never got my message, to tell me that the insurance requirement was in the contract I signed and that I had to send them a copy of my insurance declaration page. It's a ridiculous waste of my time so I refused. The declaration page is only proof I have some homeowners insurance and does not specifically show coverage for a storage unit not at my residence so they are basically wasting my time and theirs with this ridiculous request. If they expect all their clients to have insurance against the company/facility causing damage to my stuff - fire, theft, water leak, etc. - then they should pay for it themselves and charge the cost as part of the monthly fee or require proof and not allow move in before seeing it. Personally I think this sort of business is subject to lawsuit for so many things that if this requirement is an attempt to reduce loss suits/settlements they are not making good or statistically proven choices about how to go about doing that. Hire a good risk management person/team. Staff at both locations are cordial but not friendly. The Santa Ana location is filled with guys running businesses outta their units and even homeless people practically living out of it. I had a guy with a business next to mine and he mounted shelving or hangers off the wall with 3" or longer drywall screws which were poking into things I had up against the wall. Again no compensation for damages. I had rats that urinated and pooped all over wood storage cabinets I had stacked in my unit. There was so much urine soaked into the wood that I had to toss many of them out. I got them for free - except for the van rental cost and time to move them so I didn't pursue any compensation but I did point it out that they had rats on multiple occasions and they just agreed they saw the problem but did nothing for me/my unit to prevent them from getting in. The businesses are always blocking the driveways at the Santa Ana location. I had to wait 20+ minutes one time for my neighbor unit guy to move all his stock outta the way of my door to gain access. If they didn't have a really nice clean accessible restroom at the Orange location I'd have rated it one star. read more

We're down to three of the largest units they offer now, and through setting up what we needed, Sal's and Sheila's customer service can be only described as personable, pleasant and professional! It's such a stressful time for all of us, yet both these individuals have made the experience of storing our possessions straightforward despite our many requests and changes. We really appreciate their efforts to keep our belongings safe. I'm not sure what other companies charge (didn't really have time to do a comparison) but what we pay for three of their largest storage units with insurance is well worth it! read more

I've used this facility on and off for years!!! 5+ years!! It is always clean and the staff is always professional. I work with Shiela the most and she is warm, compassionate, professional, and funny! I've been late a few times on my payment just because I forgot and she's so conscientious, she always texts me or emails me. And she doesn't charge me a late fee if I come right in after her reminder. And if she doesn't know how to do something (a rarity), she knows who to ask. Just finished 9 years of having a lot a material stored here going back to when we did a home addition. Everything came out in great condition, clothes, books, paperwork, a mattress, all in as good of condition as when they went in. I always felt safe going there. I have a storage unit with them for the last 3 years. The staff is friendly, helpful and always ready to answer your questions. The units are individually monitored and require signing in and signing out each time you enter the property. What they means is that if you don't sign in on the property and you go to open unit, an alarm is triggered and the police will be called. Great security!
