Low review because you have to pay for parking which makes no sense in the burbs when there is so much space. If the landlord can't figure out how to charge rent to restaurant owners and the restaurant can't figure out how to price their menu items to cover cost of parking, these owners should not be in business. Don't make your customers have extra overhead of paying for parking. This is not NYC, DC, LA, Chicago, or any major city where land is hard to come by. Worst case this might make sense during week days but not on weekends. Recommendation to restaurant owner is to increase your menu prices by $1 and offer free parking. I rather go to Wren, that covers parking cost over visiting Ometeo. Remember not everyone comes to enjoy your restaurant for only 2 hours. And those that are there for more than 2 hours are spending a lot of money. Don't give them extra headache of paying for parking. If you want customers to take care of you, take care of them. read more

It's fine. Went as a larger group and had an overall good experience but definitely echo the reviews that say it's overpriced. Got the fajitas and it was good but was expensive for fajitas and I found there was some meat with lots of cactus propping it all up. Service was very good, a bit slow but that's expected with a large group. In my opinion, good Tex-mex shouldn't be expensive but this definitely is. read more

What a FANTASTIC STAFF! Elias and Candin at the bar were absolutely fantastic! The ambiance is exceptional, with inside and outside bar space! The food is unbelievable. Everything is home made and they know how to add the extra magic in flavor!!! I've been all over the world and this was a crowd pleaser as a table of 8 including kiddos!! Highly recommended restaurant.... ALL THE WAY AROUND!!! read more

Where to start. I made a last minute reservation for Friday night and luckily there were openings. First impressions were the decor was really pretty and on brand for Tex-Mex. But not over done. Lighting was perfect and warm, not too dark where you can't read the menu. Onto the food. I grew up eating a lot of Tex-Mex.... In Texas, so I am very picky. I was not disappointed! The salsas were so tasty and the chips were thick but fresh! I got the duck tacos and they were so juicy. Loved it! Drinks were fantastic as well! Our waitress, Nicki, was so sweet. She had so much energy and was overall such a delight. Dessert was gas, my table got the s'mores flambé and my parents got the flan. Food, service, ambiance were all a 10/10 but my only gripe was the restroom was on the 2nd floor. read more

My husband and I visited three times and the first two were great. The space is absolutely beautiful. The third time the food was still good (though not as good- fajitas weren't sizzling and cheese was cold and hard) but the service was terrible. Our waitress was nice enough, and they were busy with several large groups. But we truly sat there for almost an hour after we finished our dinner waiting to finish paying our check. We wanted dessert but decided against it because we waited so long just for someone to bring a dessert menu that we thought we would be there another hour if we ordered dessert. The staff and our waiter consistently walked right past our table without helping us, even though our food had been cleared and we had been waiting for our check for probably 30 minutes at that point. We paid with gift card and the waiter had to open a small transaction for us to tip on top of it. She dropped off the receipt for us to tip on and then disappeared for so long (15 minutes or so after finishing our food 20-30 minutes earlier) that we ended up pulling out all the cash we had to leave as a tip just so that we could get out of there. read more

The place is really nice and the outdoor bar has an awesome vibe. The waitress/bartender that served us was great as well, however the food was underwhelming. The corn app was mediocre and the short rib taco was fine. The steak fajitas though were not seasoned and inedible. They were hard to cut and or chew to the point where we had to send them back and I rarely send stuff back. Would probably come back for drinks but that's about it. read more

Get the fajitas. Great sides and salsas. REAL refried beans (delicious pork alert!), homemade tortillas (both kinds), real tostones (chips)..... not cheap, but very worth it! Can't wait to go back. Also enchladas and the soup were great. Do not forget the ESQUITES!! read more

Ate at the Cadillac bar upstairs due to not having a reservation prior to a show at Cap 1 hall. Has a limited menu but ambiance was nice and the food was good. Lots of drink options. read more

Good service but very deceptive menu and small portions, disappointed for restaurant week. Doesn't hurt to add some rice and beans for $30 tacos read more

Very nice place, gives beachy vibes. Food and drinks were excellent and our bartender Candon gave us outstanding service. However, Nawar, one of the locations managers really killed the vibe though. She was yelling at the bartender and giving a really bad attitude in front of us and we found it very unprofessional. I've worked in restaurants for a long time and never witnessed this kind of behavior from a manager in front of guests. The place has a lot of potential but management needs to learn how to manage :( P.S: Did not see Candon for the rest of the night and I don't blame him. read more

The food here is decent I wouldn't say it's amazing for a Mexican spot and it would be better if the quality control was better. For instance, the lobster tostada was almost a solid 8.7 I could tell they put a lot of thought into the seasonings and depth into the cooking but if it wasn't served on rubbery and stale tostada it wouldn't have ended up being a 4. The highlight of meal definitely goes to Philippe. He was our server that night and his service was exceptional. He was straightforward, extremely knowledgeable, and his attention to detail and timing was impeccable. We took all of his recommendations (short rib tacos, cheeky beef, lobster tostada and the flan) all had great seasoning but again each dish could've been amazing if quality control was better. read more

Loving I no longer need to go into DC to experience amazing upscale Mexican food. Yellowfin Tuna Ceviche was probably the best I've ever had. There was 3 of us so we did the sharable steak fajita platter which was recommended to us by our server, and we were not disappointed. Margaritas were well crafted though I might recommend order light on salt. Guacamole could have used a bit more seasoning, and I think next time we will try the queso with the chorizo for some added flavor. The Elote side was incredible, and I've been craving it since we had it. Service was great. We were there on a Saturday night before seeing a show and the place was packed. Definitely recommend a reservation. Can hardly wait till the weather is nice so we can sit outside because the patio area looks awesome. We will absolutely be back. read more

Food was amazing, Rivka was awesome, Gomez was so kind and knowledgeable, the quesadillas and short rip were great. Highly recommend the flan, definitely coming back. read more

We really enjoyed Ometeo, its fun, lively and a fantastic place to bring a group. We had a busy week and desperately needed a break (don't we all), we decided on Ometeo as we were driving to our regular dinning spot....the minute we arrived we felt we had made a good choice, the atmosphere is well thought out, inviting and almost transports you.... we felt as if we were on vacation, just so fun! The bartenders David and Christine were amazing, friendly and informative, they helped us sort the menu and were spot on with their recommendations. The drinks were good (mostly premixed), but the food was the star... the chips and salsa, the homemade corn tortillas and queso. My husband said the carnitas were the best he ever had, and I loved my shrimp fajitas. We left wishing our stomachs were bigger, so we could eat more. We enjoyed everything about our visit. See you soon. read more

We were a group of 8 who came for a friend's b'day. First of all, food was excellent but the service was slow and the place is a bit expensive. Fajitas seemed to be the popular item amongst our group... they were very good but don't come with salsa or pico de gallo or guacamole. After paying $30+ for the fajita entree you can have Guacamole for $14 or a salsa trio for $9. While I liked the place and the ambience, I think fajitas are better at Uncle Julio's. Margarita's here were good and so were the beers on Tap. read more

One of the best Mexican food we tried. Love the food, ambience and service. Will surely go again.

Great experience. Food was wonderful and the service was outstanding. The restaurant itself is beautiful. A must see. Great addition to Tysons. read more

The food was great the music is going to kill this restaurant. They play rock & roll music killing the entire vibe. They really need to do something about this. It's giving dinner and Applebees. read more

The Taco Salad was a bit different than what you might expect, but it was very good and a huge portion. Two people can easily share it. The only downside was an ingredient called corn shoulder, which was a small bit of corn still on a small cob, so you could not eat it with a fork. It had to be picked up and eaten separately. However, DO NOT ORDER SODA. Not only do they not offer free refills, but an 8 ounce bottle costs $5. The menu was a bit pricey overall and, in my opinion, not worth a return trip. read more

Been here 3x for different occasions. Food and drinks were good. Service was a little slow, but overall I would come back.

The best chips and guac I have ever had! And the restaurant is beautiful. I'm looking forward to warmer weather for that outdoor bar -- it's stunning! read more

My wife and I spent our date night there at the lounge area over the weekend. Good vibe, but not much service provided, I had to walk to the bar to order drinks every time. Plus, we ordered 6 drinks, and most of them were pre-mixed. Overall, the experience was alright. To me, not worth a second visit. read more

A group of coworkers and I tried Ometeo last night and it did not disappoint! Going in, I did not know what to expect since it is so new but I was very impressed. The food was phenomonal and the drinks were excellent. The service was wonderful and quick - especially with the drinks! Only drawback is that it was pretty loud for a sit down dinner and it was a bit on the expensive side - that being said, you definitely get what you pay for so it is worth it in my opinion! Will definitely be back! read more

Our server was awesome! Came for my birthday today and he took great care of my family and I. If you're looking for an energetic place to get dinner, Ometeo is the spot. The food was also great and shoutout to the lady making tortillas, they were so good. read more

We were thrilled there was space at the bar to enjoy the rave reviews at Ometeo. We were unfortunately surprised with the curt, unfriendly service, especially for serving us mixed cocktails from a pre-made tap. May have been a bad day for the bartender, but not an enjoyable experience. In lieu of staying for dinner (as planned) we had cocktails and left. The ambience and environment is beautiful, wish we had a better first visit. read more

Had dinner twice at Ometeo, both times the food was excellent and the service was friendly and on top of everything we needed. Highly recommend the fajitas, stuffies, lobster tostada, and corn side dish. We had two young kids with us the second time and they had a blast, the servers were very friendly and helpful. read more

Margarita $17 plus an up charge of 2$....really ? Pay for chips and then the filet (2 taco )was horrible .. Very greasy, no meat and the cheese was burnt. It was absolutely horrific. Wont go back....Taco Bell better ! read more

Ometeo Tex-Mex is creative, inspiring, and delectable! From the appetizers and main courses to the desserts, drinks, and homemade tortillas, Ometeo has brought a bit of Texas with unique ingredients, flavors, and dishes. The staff was attentive and checked in on us frequently. It was a bit loud, but not so much that you couldn't hear. The Fajitas were sizzling and full of flavor! The Ceasar salad was well defined and spot on with freshness and brightness. For dessert, they offered traditional desserts, tequila flights, and a new twist on smores. The Campfire S'more Flambeado was fire!! Literally, they lit it on fire at your table, and the presentation and taste are decadent! read more

I ended up with food poisoning after eating here on New Year's Eve. I ordered the chicken tinga quesadilla. I found it odd that the same dish came out twice for me. I guess that was a red flag. read more

I had a reservation for Saturday night and still had to wait a good 10-15 mins to be seated. The restaurant is very nice and the ambiance was great. However, the food and drinks were lacking. The portions are small and price point is high (yes... it's one of those places). The flavor was lacking. The fajitas my husband got fell short and the meats had no salt. We ordered a quesadilla which was ok. Enchiladas were also ok. I definitely expected better, consider the prices too. I see this as a place to grab a few drinks and small bites at if you're meeting up with people. I probably wouldn't dine in again. read more

Worst oysters I've ever had (not because of the oysters per se, but the sauce was... yuck). They have a premade minonette sauce that's red and lacking in vinegar. Like they premixed hot sauce and onion and it has a weird citrus flavor. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and maybe have that sauce in addition to a regular minonette. I ordered them as my appetizer, but after being so disappointed, I didn't order an entree. I didn't trust the flavor profiles of the kitchen at that point. Very pretty place though. :/ read more

The service was wonderful but there is room for improvement here. While the food was ok, it was not great and I do not see myself returning unless the menu is updated. The venue is beautiful though. In such a competitive market, $9 for chips and salsa seems overpriced. Some entrees came out 5 minutes before others which was odd and not preferred when dining with others. For $34, the steak fajitas did not come with much meat. It was primarily melted cheese and vegetables which is disappointing. I asked for the fajitas to be medium rare and they came out well done. Service was great! read more

Just came here for my daughter's 30th birthday. Brought in a cake and they said we would have to pay for each person to eat the cake we brought in. Also we had paper plates. So sad. I will never come back and will make sure to tell everyone I know. Elbebe would never have done this to us. Also the food is better at Elbebe. read more

My bf and I decided to try this place for our anniversary. The experience exceeded our expectations. When we first went in, we had a wait about of 45 minutes, that started around 6:00. in the meantime we decided to explore the upstairs lounge and bar area where we shared a few cocktails made by our wonderful bartender (I think his name was alex?) and an app of chips and guacamole. They have a great variety of tequila and their handcrafted cocktails were great. The lounge was cozy, and homey. When it was time to be seated, our bartender was kind enough to move our unfinished app to our table. Our waiter took our drink and entree orders and everything came out within reasonable time as it was picking up with the crowd. I had a spicy margarita that was just perfect and my boyfriend really enjoyed his Elote Old Fashioned. We played it safe with an entree to share and got Enchiladas Verdes with a side of rice. We finished off our date with the chocolate tamale and it was delicious! Will be coming here again. I will say it is a little bit loud on the main dining floor, we caught ourselves repeating a lot. Nothing too unbearable. read more

I went with my friends on a Tuesday night. The place looks pretty nice, rustic. They had an upstairs with some nice sofas, the bathrooms were clean and the waiter was really nice and attentive. We ordered chips and salsa, medium steak fajitas ( so dry, no flavor, seemed burnt and the rice was not good at all), chicken fajitas (tasted good, small portions, rice was not good), chicken tinga tacos (had some flavor, very dry) We also ordered some cocktails and margaritas which were pretty good. I think once we asked for some limes it helped a little with the taste of the food. I do not think it's worth the hype- I'll stick to Guapos for my fajitas read more

So excited Ometeo has arrived! Incredible new build out in the Capital One+ area. Drinks were incredible. I sampled several! A couple great mezcal cocktails, a wonderful Paloma, and some fun things on tap. It was a total party when I was there! Great spot for event, happy hour, and I can't wait to try dinner. I had a few bites and am so excited to see what the full spread tastes like. Decor was awesome. The upstairs was my favorite spot. Would love to throw birthday party here! I didn't catch my favorite bartenders name but my guy was cranking out delicious libations. Leather couch, cocktail, guac... what more do I need! Highly recommend and excited to see what's ahead! read more

Parking - got a $35 fine for the 40min we parked on Mon 4:45ish ... thought we might get it validated and it might be ok because it was President's Day.. asked hostess and said they don't validate street parking and didn't know about holiday.. oh well After an awkward table switch due to loud overhead speakers and uncomfortable wrap around chairs, we found a comfortable table. Chips and queso came out quickly but were less than great. Whoever is back in the kitchen must not like cheese and definitely doesn't understand cheese lovers. Tried to order safe entree - chicken fajitas. Looked instagramable at first but realized the melted cheese was really greasy and not flavorful. I felt like I needed a degree in pepper identification to navigate this minefield. The jalapeño and red pepper were hot, but if you dug around enough you could find some limp poblanos. The chicken was ok but very meh flavor. There was a minimal amount of grilled onions and an even more modest amount of sour cream (tiny amount for table to share). Full, uncut green onion was oddly at the bottom twisted up in the greasy cheese. I love green onions so I tried to cut it up but it was just a slippery, limp mess and I have know idea why you would prepare this beautiful onion like that. I made one light fajita and decided to save my appetite. We don't often trek all the way from Ashburn to Tysons and i literally was thinking at that point that we could stop on the way home near the mall for food worth eating.... But parking ticket got us both grouchy...we just wanted to get out of dodge at that point It's a fresh new space that looks like it will be a fun bar in the summer... just not a great place for someone interested in food. read more
